Ah I was wondering where the Flower of Scotland was! Glad Dylan is feeling better and getting back into smiles and fun. DS2 similar on weaning, not wanting much while ill. Is one of the nice things about seeing him get better now. He had a little poached salmon last night - about 6 flakes - and some chopped pear and apple. We are on spag bol tonight so thinking a few strands of pasta, not sure about the meat, even though it's organic, meat somehow seems wrong - though I know tis good for iron and that's what they need.

No1 at sickness and having to postpone christening, you poor soul.

pf hope the birthday has been nice.

CC hope your sister is moving in the right direction & so is your house sale.

Buckets that is so true.

ts can I have a txt for my ds too please? sleep thing not going good here. miamla your ds has given me hope...would love even one night where I get > 2.5 hours in a row

cc good luck on house negotiations - I sold my house last Aug (after 10 tense months) - and 'lost' £35K on the value, it's a really tough market

have caught up 11 pages today whilst ds napped (2 hour nap and I should have been asleep AAARGH I'm my own worst enemy ). Been at my parents, was lovely to be spared the tyranny of housework for a few days

Yay, migraine didn't develop after all. Would have been amusing for you lot actually as the linguistic part of my brain gets impaired and I can't speak or write properly for 20mins or so. Was watching Terry Pratchett having same symptom due to his Alzheimers and thought yeah, must be same part of the brain.

Sambo Glad you're getting a holiday. Bet your DH will be refreshed and sooo pleased to see you both on your return. (And house will be trashed.)

Peppa Pig is playing Happy Mrs Chicken and my DS1 is jumping about the room blowing raspberries and laying eggs. All 3 kids in suspiciously chirpy mood (scuse pun), even Kurt who has missed his nap window (will now have to keep him awake til half six.)

dizzyTHETARTANARMYdixies · 11/02/2009 18:13

VG am never far away have you had any more thought about the rugby tickets, I shall hold off selling them incase you DO decide its a good idea

am also going to email the lady with the milking parlour with a bit of a cheeky offer - if she's not managed to let it out then why not?! some money must surely be better than none

albs please don't be putting that much pressure on me!!! [meep]

sambo lucky you and the housework spreading, I have now decided to call it

'HIDYING'

instead of tidying seeing as nothing seems to get put away properly anymore, just hidden from view

buckets Happy Mrs Chicken a huge hit in this house too, we are practically a Peppa Pig franchise here

sambo303triesforScotland · 11/02/2009 18:15

just cut 2mm off top of my finger making soup typing with one finger using wrong hand ouch.

no1 sorry to hear of illness... hope you all get better soon

dizzyTHETARTANARMYdixies · 11/02/2009 18:21

oopsRonanOGarascoconuts · 11/02/2009 18:28

Dizzy - where are you looking for and when? I missed that - maybe I can use my magical holiday finding skills to find you a hoose in Ireland. I am supposed to be doing other things but heyho I'd rather be looking for you!

Sambo - sympaties for your finger - I only just have use of mine again.

dizzy lol lol at Hidying. I am a fhg!

Have ordered some cropped slim fit trousers from (ahem) Boden - sort of Audrey Hepburn stylee. I'm not sure they will fit, but hey ho am going to try. I have the sky scraper heels in matching purple - I do enjoy wearing high heels (is that weird) and these make me about 5'11''!

I've given up waiting for 6 months and this evening gave in and gave Tobes half a pot of Plum blueberry banana and vanilla. He thought it was great and immediately stopped all the fuss he had been making up to that point! (and had a full bf this evening so it didn't put him off even though less than an hour beforehand)

sazzles why do you think I am called pf? My ds1 and dd also weaned on pfs! Don't think too bad considering my mum and her four brothers and sisters were weaned on sponge fingers and custard!

dizzyTHETARTANARMYdixies · 11/02/2009 19:35

pf well done, you will look fecking gorgeous ESPECIALLY if it makes you 5ft11

oops am needing a cottage or something in Co wicklow from Mon 6th April till Fri 10th now it has to be north Wicklow near to Greystones/Bray etc not deepest darkest Wicklow, as lovely as it is we need to be near to friends

has to take 3 adults, 3 kids and a baby and has to be nicer than the one VG found as I loved it

thanks in advance!!!

Allezlesbluessteaknife · 11/02/2009 19:45

Evenin' all.

buckets - we just watched Benjamin Button too - loved it. Mind you I have a bit of a crush on Tilda Swinton so would happily watch her darn socks.

Dizzy - my SIL calls it hidy-tidy which kept me laughing for days when I heard it.

PF when I saw that top, apart from being at it, I thought black drainpipe trousers. I think the fancy term is cigarette pants.

Izzy doing okay, still a bit nap resistant and quite loud but she is getting closer to sitting up by herself each day. I had been trying to get her used to a bottle again as she is usually very hungry and grumpy after I have been to French classes. But no luck so yesterday I bought one of the Avent magic cups. She only poked herself in the eye a couple of times before getting the hang of it, there was only a little bit of my milk in it. I think it will work better when it is fuller. She looked so adorable and grown up - well for a 23 week old. MIL and I were in fits of giggles and ooohs at her.

I've also tried her with a tiny tiny bit of banana. She seemed a bit not bothered so I'm not going to rush it.

Sibh · 11/02/2009 19:49

The only things that would make me look 5,11 are stilts.

dizzyTHETARTANARMYdixies · 11/02/2009 19:56

me too sibh me too

pf the top is gorgeous btw and I am sure you will look great.

sazzles about your dd1 rash, poor thing. Hope you can get something to soothe it. Is it clearing up at all??

Both dcs been in bed since 6.15.

I ran upstairs earlier faster than you could imagine as I heard dd moan and am paranoid about her being sick. She is fast asleep.

Marcus was in a cloth nappy today from 9 till about 4

but it was only tiny bit wet again
Not sure if antibiotics are working. Doc said to give double dose but if no difference in 48 hours he may have to be admitted.
He said re nappies, that his body seems to be storing the fluid for some reason
Not happy, he looks so pale and dark under his eyes.
I have tried to feed him as much as he would allow today as my milk supply was low due to being ill. He seemed to feed every 2 hours.
I would have expected his nappy to have been soaked.

itwasCYTEENagewedding · 11/02/2009 20:11

Ooh pf you will look gorgeous, that top is rocking and with the skinny trews and heels I bet you will look divine. Please post a pic on your profile afterwards so we can all swit-swoo at you

Eek at all the accidents lately Ann on the stairs, sambo with the knife - it must be the sleep deprivation kicking in. I hope everyone is taking extra care now. I myself have just rearranged tonight's driving lesson because I am too lazy busy and distracted.

Digging the notion of a hidy-tidy, wouldn't work here though as every inch of this enormous house is seemingly covered in crap most of it mine, I have to confess. The decluttering continues but as one batch leaves, another batch enters...oh well.

Gave Joe some of our carrot, sweet potato and lentil soup today (saltless obv) - he seemed a bit nonplussed but had a few spoons, although was much more into chewing the spoon. He has been lovely lovely all day DP home this afternoon which was great too.

oh No1 what a worry, poor Marcus. if it helps at all Dylan has been snacking rather than feeding, seemed to be comfort as much as food - hope he gets better soon

sazzles have you tried her with oats in her bath? I think thats right. you're meant to put oats in a sock, hang is on the tap and let the water pour into the bath through to sock/oats - now I could be blatently making that up but I'm sure I heard it somewhere?!?!

cyteen my hidying depends on who is visiting for example, friend I had over yesterday has no children so everything in sight was flung into toy room and door firmly kept shut today house still looks reasonable BUT behind that door its not pretty

btw, there is a photo of me on FB from my brothers wedding in 2000 but its still me lol

poppysocks · 11/02/2009 20:32

No1 Poor Marcus. Hope he picks up soon.

pf Celebrity stylist woman was wearing it with opaque tights and sky high heels. What you suggest sounds gorgeous. that you can walk in the heels. I've always been useless .

Sazzles - Poor DD1. Whatever it is I'm sure it's being exacerbated by the fact that we're all stuck inside in central heating (has your oil arrived yet btw??), so once the weather improves I'm sure her skin will. I speak with a lifetime of experience.

Dizzy Great to see you today. DD1 announced that her highlight of the day was your DD2. Nothing else. Just DD2. And DD1's name remembered correctly this time.

And Oops. I announce that Dizzy is beautiful, blonde and has skin that in no way belongs to a lady with three small children and who doesn't get enough sleep. . She also has great taste in footwear .

cyteen - Any news on DP's job interviews?

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 11/02/2009 20:33

I think family seeing him at the weekend and commenting how small and pale he looked has made me paranoid.
Will see how things go.
PMSL at the hidying btw. That is me.
Dh due home soon and I know the first thing he will do is go to Claudia toy box and put all the stacker cups together, put all her kitchen stuff on her kitchen, put all her puzzle pieces back in puzzle board and stack the books neatly at the bottom of the box.

Then he will go to sinl wipe it out, empty the sterilizer and general adjust poke about move cushions etc... all before taking his coat off.
He admits he cant help it.
I however will just throw stuff in an HIDE it

dizzyTHETARTANARMYdixies · 11/02/2009 20:38

god. don't knock it, DH comes home and sighs these days
