Annvan - ouch for your foot and {{hugs}} for you.

Miamla - I made my wedding dress. I got the fabric in Soho and had to go for a stiff drink after I had never spent so much money on fabric all in one go before. But it was brilliant to have something I had made, being a tiny bit of a control freak and all. What is yours going to be like?

CaptainCaveman · 09/02/2009 09:02

Hello everyone, what have I missed? Am I in the right room, only everyone seems to have name changed? Can someone please help me out?

oopsRonanOGarascoconuts · 09/02/2009 09:22

Morning All

Here is: Porridge, apple compote, toast, spreads and cereals.

CC - Yes you are in the right place but we are all in diguise you should be able to recognise all the rugby fans on here although those not rugby-ing are Valentines Day-ing.

DD did that sleeping thing again last night 7-5 then 2 minute feed then awake at 7.45. I am still dream feeding her but she doesn't seem to want much last night it was 2 sucks then snoring.

rotterpotter · 09/02/2009 09:24

Morning all

CC I think some have namechanged for the rugby, and some in anticipation of Valentine's day. Am currently too tired to think of a new name! Have you had any more viewer luck? Hope you get a sale for your birthday

Ann ouch that sounds really painful. I'd take Oops' advice and stay in bed all day

Been awake since 5.45am . First DS then DD. Not sure how much more of this I can take

poppysocks · 09/02/2009 09:26

Remainder of a pot of particularly good coffee and some pain au chocolat for anyone who wants it...

On the nappies, E is in the same one from bath (around 7-7.30) until she surfaces in the morning (7.30-8.30). Same as Hazie - the occasional minor leak, but nothing major. Interestingly (well sort of..) we never get a dirty overnight.

V. of you all with your handicraft skills. Would have made my pre-wedding life far easier if I'd had some of your skills. Lost loads of weight in lead-up to my wedding and my dress ended up hanging off me. Without anyone I trusted to take it in, I had a dilemma of do I take it to someone I don't know to get it sorted, or just allow it to hang off. Took the latter/lazy option and will always regret slightly how pants it looked. Oh well.

Shitey morning here so far. DD1 appeared full of beans far too early. Then kicked off at the thought of nursery. Mother and father of all tantrums. I gave her the option of returning to bed or calming down and going to nursery. She's now fast asleep. Glad she's getting some rest, which she obviously needs, but my morning of stuff to do is now on hold while I wait for her to wake up so that we can start the wrestle for nursery again. Sigh.

poppysocks · 09/02/2009 09:28

Ouch ann! Wincing just thinking of your poor foot. Hope DS allows it to stay up all day.

on the wedding dress front, sadly I didnt make mine, but did design it with the maker. Must have been very satisfying for those who made them.

dizzyTHETARTANARMYdixies · 09/02/2009 10:11

Ann nothing worse than a stray plug but you know what I'm going to say don't you? arnica is your friend!!

miamla I am infact clinging desperately to my youth and am blonde (with the help of my good friend Debbie the hairdresser )

poppy did you get your hair done? I really must sort mine but can't be arsed frankly

steaky very impressed with your top. Actually I have to admit I'm very impressed with you all - you talented lot!! Am not quite so handy

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 09/02/2009 10:16

no1 and steaky i'd love to see a photo of your wedding dresses, if i may

dizzy sorry, but you'll always be an interesting brunette in my mind! Hope DH, the dog and DD2 come back in one piece

VintageChampagneAndGardenias · 09/02/2009 10:35

No1 great that the birthday party went well! There is no such thing as a non-hectic party for the under tens. Can we see your bears online anywhere or is that too nosy?

Ann that is horrible, your poor foot. Lego is bad enough I can't imagine a plug! Slap the arnica on.

dizzy how are Dylan's eyes? We cannot get the drops in. Might get an ointment alternative, you paint it on over the closed lid, might be more realistic for us.

Re. nappies ds gets a clean nappy for bedtime at 7.30ish and unless he dirties it at night - rare - he's in it till brekker. Some mornings it's quite squishy with wet but it's dry against his skin. I'm with TS, I can't remember the phrase but it was something like "I'm not about to get chilling that butt" or something - nappy change would deffo wake him up.

Haven't much time hope all are well. Have friend coming, haven't seen her for approx 4 years (she lives in Malaysia), she's bringing 2 dc, one has my name (don't think she was actually named after me, but still nice as they wouldn't have used my name if they thought I was a horror I suppose). V v looking forward! She's lovely.

rotter I think you should be hotterpotter for Val's day and I think you should ditch the rotter bit out of your name for good, it is very misleading, nothing rotterish about you!

I wish I had a more versatile name.

MiamlaHasADaffodilBehindHerEar · 09/02/2009 10:35

ann your foot sounds painful. I find it helps in such situations to shout at whoever left the plug there!

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 09/02/2009 10:35

ann It depend as they are all different sizes, different pile of mohair etc...
Most bears have been commisions. so clients choice of size.
I will upload some pics when I get chance.
Sizes start at a couple of inch, and the largest I have made is 3 foot. But I wont be in a hurry to amke one that big again.lol

Prices range from roughly £29-£400.
I know it may sound pricey, but some Mohairs are v expensive before I even start.
All bears are one of a kind and all my own patterns/designs too.

miamla I will get some pics up of dress.
Its fish tail and my boss described as me having 2 cleavages as the dress at back was open all way to top of my arse (fastens with ribbon iykwim.

MiamlaHasADaffodilBehindHerEar · 09/02/2009 10:37

ooh, hope you have a lovely day VG

MiamlaHasADaffodilBehindHerEar · 09/02/2009 10:43

forgot to say TS, DS got the text again!!! thank you!!
He did midnight to 7am with a brief waking/feed at 4am. Still not counting any chickens!

oh and DS has really found his voice! He has done nothing but chat continually for the last 4 days!

no1 £400 for a teddy?? blimey! i'd love to see a photo of him!

AnnVan · 09/02/2009 10:51

no1 I'd love to get a Steiff bear but the prices!!! Out of my reach sadly. I have got a lovely Aunt Lucy bear though.
Wedding dress sounds lovely. I'm hopeless at sewing. Cooking was always more my thing.

dizzyTHETARTANARMYdixies · 09/02/2009 10:59

nope, have decided am completely without interest.

all the things I used to love have fallen by the way side either with work (hate shift work) kids or constant up & down to see mum

am now more realistically going to be one of those pushy mothers who wants her children to be in the olympics/award winning journo/renound artist/clothes designer/mitchellin star winning chef because I didn't get round to doing it

VG dylans eyes are much improved thank you -although I would think anything minus pouring horrible yellow gloop would be I would say still slightly red and puffed but vastly improved on what they were. Its a fucidin tube we have which comes out not as a liquid but a goo if that makes sense? its administered with tantrums & tears (mainly mine) but am afraid we've had to persist - don't fancy whole house getting it and DH is prone to terrible eye/mouth things anyway. thank you for asking though and if you DO change over I hope it has better results

right DH returned with DD2 intact and dog now having had booster - she's also overweight as well as me and DH which is terrible!!! am mortified. can use all usual excuses but am afraid she's just not getting her old 2hr forest walks so time to make a bit more effort - will do us all good. and DH given a row for feeding her ALL the leftovers

itwasCYTEENagewedding · 09/02/2009 11:12

Ann yikes, what a nightmare. Plug-foot second only to Lego-foot in the ow stakes.

Was awake every hour between 9pm and 6am Nothing more to say about that really, am in mild despair. Still, cheered us both up by giving Joe his first proper breakfast - more banana (the boy is a nana addict) and something new, some steamed apple slices. After an initial 'wtf?' expression he was grabbing for them like mad and squishing them into his mouth. Had a few gags but dealt with them fine, phew. Also tried spoonfeeding him some mushed up but he just gave me this look and turned away - think that answers my weaning questions!

Off out soon to meet my boss for lunch, looks like I may become a SAHM after all

Allezlesbluessteaknife · 09/02/2009 11:31

no1 - your bears sound lovely. I am always very impressed with people that make minature things.

This was my wedding dress pattern, but not in blue. In a pale shell pink silk.
Here is the dress.

RE nappies, Izzy is in one all night - from 6ish till wake up - anytime between 6 and 8am.
I only change her if there is a poo incident.

annvan - I actually made cloth nappies for Izzy. I was using them in Spain but now we are with inlaws we use disposable. I feel bad making all that extra laundry for them. Also we get great grannies incontience nappy allowance everyother month, which means they are basically free. I know - not a friend to the environment (Spelling?) when we have our own place I will get back on track with it.

VintageChampagneAndGardenias · 09/02/2009 11:33

LOL dizzy can I just clarify, when I list e.g. jewellery making I hope I am not giving the impression that I wait for the ds's to be asleep then quickly knock out a collection before expressing, and supply it to a local bunting/cupcake boutique on my way home from the school run... Must admit if I MN'd less I might achieve more during naptime...

Good luck with your boss cyteen.

VintageChampagneAndGardenias · 09/02/2009 11:39

Ooooh glamourpuss, steaky! That dress is absolutely gorgeous. Looking at that pattern (esp reading Misses Dress and Notions) reminds me of being 18 and starting to go to black tie things and making dresses, I remember getting all the boning and bits and my mum helping me on the difficult parts. All my dresses were a variation on a theme, boned bodice and a full skirt. I still have two of them.

MiamlaHasADaffodilBehindHerEar · 09/02/2009 11:52

come on then, own up! who's reprogrammed my DS into sleeping??? because it certainly wasn't me!
You'll never guess where he is right now... IN HIS COT!! ASLEEP!!! I can't even remember the last time this happened!

steaky wow! your dress is gorgeous! thanks for sharing your photo

VintageChampagneAndGardenias · 09/02/2009 11:56

LOL Miamla mine is too, face down on his stuffed rabbit (wearing a very fetching blue top, might I add). But for how long? Am going to make a cup of coffee instead of washing the kitchen floor for my guests. I'm sure they'd rather I was refreshed than that the house was clean.
