Hello.

Trace I went with your idea!!

We're getting all we are entitled too. We went to the citzens advice bureau. We need to take DH's JSA stuff to the housing benefit people but that is Monday morning and DH has a very important hospital appointment as his heart monitoring and ecg is overdue and I'm not sure if they will see just me as it is a joint claim.

Turnip can I have free advice? What colour should we paint the hall and landing? It is now magnolia(bleugh) and it doesn't get much light, just from front door.

Oh and don't mention wallpaper. There is a wallpaper shop in Malton and I lurve it so so so much. But there is far too much to choose from. We have an alcove in our bedroom that I am going to wallpaper.

Kayz how many kids does your sister have do any of them have asthma or suffer from recurrent respiratory infections (coughs and colds) if so she may be able to get their GP to help with a letter to the housing people about the damp being bad for their health.

kayzr · 04/03/2009 22:14

Just the one. Neice is always picking up bugs but sis just puts it down to the fact she was told by MWs when neice was born that because she was small(6lb 1oz at 41 weeks) she will pick up bugs easier. So it could be damp causig it.

OP posts:
Veggiemummy · 04/03/2009 22:29

oh definitely, that weight isnt unusually small, even if it is to do with the weight they wouldnt know for sure it could well be the damp as far as they are concerned, so get her GP onto it. I used to write letters like that for my patients all the time. sometimes in vain but often it helped move things along.

kayzr · 04/03/2009 22:35

She is having SS meetings once a week and they are trying to help with the damp. She lives in the ground floor flat and the flat above is now getting damp too.

OP posts:
Veggiemummy · 04/03/2009 22:35

ps it really annoys me that the council let families with kids live in damp conditions they can a) move them or b) try to dry out the flat with air flow conditioning. We are living in a developed country and this still happens.

waitinggirl · 04/03/2009 22:35

have just about solved the hotmail problem, but they have now attempted to get into my ebay/amazon/snapfish and anything else they could possibly find accounts. they have however, hacked my facebook page, locked me out of it and sent emails to friends claiming i am in nigeria and to send me £300... blah blah blah. and i have loads of info on my hotmail that they might have gleaned off me. arse.

waitinggirl · 04/03/2009 22:36

wouldn't be surprised to find my facebook status update says: "is in Nigeria, pls send all your money to..."

Veggiemummy · 04/03/2009 22:39

oh Kayz i hope it gets sorted it's just crap. SS should also be ashamed of themselves they have a direct link with housing they should get onto it pronto. Glad that fella is out of the picture at least, is your sister OK about all that now, poor thing what a hard time she is having, hey good on your mum though, well done to her on the weight loss. She will have added years to her life.

right i really have to go to bed otherwise i will drink the ZOO out of coffee tomorrow. I have no idea why i keep writing zoo in caps.

kayzr · 04/03/2009 22:42

Bloody hell WG, can you get your FB account back at all? I hope your friends don't send any money.

Someone got into DH's FB account and posted that he was stuck in Kenya and needed money to get home. Within 10 minutes I had multiple phone calls from his friends asking why he was there and how they could help. I had no idea what they were on about and had to tell them he was at work.

OP posts:
Veggiemummy · 04/03/2009 22:43

oh dear WG thats a bit tricky havent read much of recent thread so not sure of the horrors you are having but sounds tricky. Did someone get your passwords. I have the same password for everything, much to DH the professional hackers disgust, but otherwise i wont remember any of them. Oh well if you start saying strange things on here we will know its not you...or you have been at the cheerfulness.

kayzr · 04/03/2009 22:44

Mums weight loss was all started by a picture my Dad took when they were together of her washing up. She looked huge. She still has the picture now to look at every now and again.

OP posts:
Veggiemummy · 04/03/2009 22:47

i keep looking at digital photos DH is taking and it's not a happy sight.

right bed. otherwise the lamas will get me.

kmp1 · 05/03/2009 07:24

thanks veggie I looked at that website, but can't find the actual chart? Or is it just explaining about the chart...?
Well after all this wierd unsettled-ness it turned into unusual random short bursts of screaming, which dh witnessed when he got home. B has also been touching / scratching up his left ear which I thought just meant he was tired, but DH thought might be an ear infection but since he didn't have an otoscope, he rang out of hours GP and we were able to get B seen right away . Interestingly enough he did the biggest poo right before we left and then was the most settled he's been! Turns out no temp and no sign of ear infection so who knows.... He then downed another 4oz of milk (after having 3oz only 2hrs earlier) and went to sleep at about 11pm and I can just hear him stirring now!
Your trip sounds great Veggie... Makes me want to go away again - however this unsettled baby isn't too much fun

kmp1 · 05/03/2009 07:28

oh I'd better join the terrible spelling list!

kayzr · 05/03/2009 07:37

Morning,

kmp That's great about his sleeping. Long may it last!!!

DS1 is gorgeous!!! I was just feeding DS2 and I sat him up to give him a burp and DS1 started rubbing and patting his back. It was so cute. Then he helped me to hold the bottle to feed DS2.

I am looking forward to Saturday but slightly worried I'll fall asleep and end up somewhere strange!!

OP posts:
kmp1 · 05/03/2009 07:39

turnip what did you mean by your post
"I am feeding from one boob and expressing but giving then and there from the other at 10.30 (as its quicker than DD feeding from both). Amounts don't seem to increse though." do you mean you are feeding and expressing on the one side only and then I didn't understand the quicker at 1030 part or the amounts increasing? I am trying to increase amounts too but not sure how?

daisydora · 05/03/2009 08:01

Morning all,

DS has gone into meltdown he's been awake, and then needing a feed pretty much every 2 hours for the past 2 days/nights. He also has an awful cough where last night he coughed so much he couldn't catch his breath it was awful. Then it takes ages to calm him down so he will feed So I'm hoping I can get to see the GP this morning. He seems to have been poorly for a while now. My other thought was that he could be teething...... No doubt they will make me feel completely neurotic!

kayz good to hear your sister is trying to sort things out

veggie enjoy the zoo

wg am at you having your passwords etc stolen. Its awful! We had £500 taken from ouor bank account a couple of years ago. I was livid...thankfully we did get it back.

cat - good on you for getting an appointment. Hope it's constructive

daisy - Your GP should not make you feel neurotic, and if he/she does, then it's their problem. When I saw mine yesterday I cried through relief and feeling like a wally for being over anxious. She said that 'over anxious mother syndrome' can't exist because we are programmed to be anxious about our precious ones, and that she would rather see me 100 times and find nothing wrong, than have me feel like I shouldn't go on the one occasion when there is something wrong. Obviously that just made me cry more! Hope it goes well - it does sound like he's been unwell for quite some time.

I topped off my ridiculously bad eating day with a bowl of supernoodles for tea! Today I am trying harder...have had weetabix and a banana so far. [pats self on back for not having had chocolate yet today]

re Verso. Is anyone in contact with her via text/ phone or anything? I'm quite concerned and very conscious that she's not been on since my post yesterday. Really hope I didn't over step the mark.
Verso - are you lurking?

daisydora · 05/03/2009 10:22

Well went to the GP, and she said DS is fine, lungs and chest are clear but she did say he is very congested and that is probably causing him to wake a lot. She was lovely, and didn't make me feel bad. He is now asleep in his pram in the garden. I'm hoping the old fashioned wives tales of fresh air will do him some good.

Am also hoping verso posts soon to let us know she is okay

JamInMyWellies · 05/03/2009 10:23

haha trace oyur intake of food sounds like ,ine so far today I have had a hot chocolate and a bag of cheese and onion crisps not exactly the healthiest diet and I wonder why the last stone wont shift

Verso lovey are you out there? I think sybil has her No. maybe she could text.

Cat there is a function on your mac which means you can change the hash key to a ££ key dont ask me how or where I came across it by accident. Well done for going to GP's you are wute rught you need to get things sorted have you thought about calling homestart they are a voluntary organisation who will come round and give oyu a couple of hours either take T off your hands so you can snooze or they will do your shopping or washing up.

Kayz that is very sweet of DS1

Daisy hope you get to the bottom of your LO prob

Mad day here off to toddler yoga in a mo then got to get the chubby one weighed then have to go hunting down the lanes ot find a very very good butchers DP normally goes so I have no idea how to get there. But we are off to a friends on Sat night and they have requested we bring some venison. Personally I would rather take a bottle of wine but there you go. I also have to do tesco and I have friends coming tom who are due some christmas gifts for their LO's which I still havent got yet. [oops] I just dont think there is enough hours in the day.

JamInMyWellies · 05/03/2009 10:26

Thats a relief Daisy I put Lachlan in the garden every day for a snooze he will sleep for 3 hours out there but in the house never does more than 30mins.

Turniphead1 · 05/03/2009 10:32

trace I really don't think you overstepped the mark at all. You are in the position to understand what she is going through to a greater degree than the most of you. I think she had reached crisis point and I hope she is off getting some support. I am so cross though that there isn't a charity that can take women out of the home to a lovely calm place with maternity nurses and lovely bedrooms with approp. medical help also when they hit hard times with PND. The only option is hospital and I know there are very few mother and baby facilities in the mental health wards.

KMP phrased that really badly. What I do is - put L on one boob and express from the other (this takes about 15 mins). I then feed her the expressed milk ina bottle (because normally she necks a bottle - and is slow feeding from the boob). However last night she took AGES to feed from the bottle - so really didn't acheive much in terms of time saving. I don't seem to get any more than 2 oz from the boob even though have been doing this a while (and I had thought the more you expressed the better you get). It is difficult when feeding baby on one side/expressing on other to do any breast compressions either...

Kayz let me have a think about you hall. What colour is your living room?
