Ronshar did weaning William make any difference to his sleep?
I want to wait because my older son had egg allergy and I understand that waiting to wean until later can reduce the risk of allergy, is this right??? But I just wondered if it has helped with his sleep so I can torture myself with shall I / shan't I

ronshar · 18/02/2009 22:32

Myjob, we go at least three times a year. We live in Worthing W.Sussex. Where are you?

Ksal I am most jealous about your hols. DH changing career so no holiday for us for a looooonnngg time.

Chiken Korma in a slow cooker. I would never have tried that. Was it yummy?

ronshar · 18/02/2009 22:36

CSWS is much better informed than me. But I have to say that it has made a difference to Williams sleep. It was getting to the point where I didnt trust myself driving I was so tired. Now I just look like I have a weeks worth of luggage under my eyes!!!
I am off to feed W now and then hopefully getting some sleep.
DD2 & William are full to the eyes with cold. Very snuffly sleepers
Night everyone.

Marthasmama · 19/02/2009 00:17

I've not breastfed in public and won't be doing so! I have such enormous norks that there would be nothing subtle about it! Plus M is so wiggly she won't feed without a cushion. Tis a pain in the bum as we have to make sure there are 'mother's rooms' wherever we go! That or I feed her in the car with a nursing cover over me. I would love to be able to just feed in public but alas, my knockers are too generous!

I am getting very excited about weaning, but I am going to wait until 26 weeks. M rolled for the first time yesterday too, so there must be something in the air. DS is getting over measles poor little fella. So glad that M is under 8 months so still has my immunity. Would have been scary if she had got it at such a young age.

CantSleepWontSleep · 19/02/2009 09:03

Think we might all be wanting your korma recipe aubergenie! Was it dairy free?

MM - my smallest bras are an H cup - are you much bigger than that?!

Did your ds not have the mmr MM?

CantSleepWontSleep · 19/02/2009 09:07

Oh, and I believe that you're right about the allergies hedgepig. If your ds was allergic to them then it would prob be sensible not to introduce them this time around until 9 months-1 year, or else introduce them by way of something like a cake or pancake, rather than an egg directly.

star6 · 19/02/2009 09:10

I'm going to buy a book of slow cooker recipes... sounds delicious!
I haven't slept in 2 nights - not because of DS - he's sleeping like a superstar from 7ishpm until about 5/5.30am. I'm just beside myself with worry. it's so hard to see someone you care so much about it so much pain.

aubergenie · 19/02/2009 09:39

Morning ladies,

Chicken Korma recipe here (Ignore the spat later on in the thread!).

Tonight, I will be making a chicken, chickpea and apricot tagine - here

I'm meeting some friends in central London this afternoon so the plan is to get it all prepped and switch it on before I go.

CSWS - thanks for the link to the high chair - that looks like a very good alternative. Honestly, you should set yourself up as some sort of baby shopping adviser and charge huge amounts of money!

MM - How annoying. Having to plan ahead like that must be a real nuisance and very restrictive.

Star - Sorry to hear you're so worried. I hope you get some news soon.

Marthasmama · 19/02/2009 10:18

CSWS - No, he didn't have the MMR. I had a friend who's son developed autisim after having the jab. He is a barrister and therefore used to weighing up arguements and is totally convinced of the link. This made me decided against it. We were going to get the single jabs when they started talking about an epidemic but it is so hard to find someone trust worthy. And I am a 34J but these are a bit on the small side, I couldn't find a 34K .

Marthasmama · 19/02/2009 10:39

NO!!!! I would love some nice neat C cups! I frigging HATE my enormous boobs. Even when I am skinny they're massive and don't fit into clothes. Grrrrrrrr!!!!!

Honeymoonmummy · 19/02/2009 10:42
Marthasmama · 19/02/2009 10:43

Hee hee! And Grrrr at my boobs not you honeymoon.

star6 · 19/02/2009 10:43

HMM I'm inferior as well I wish they were ginormous so I could feed laying down!

Marthasmama · 19/02/2009 10:46

I can't work out how to feed lying down Star. You would have thought that I would be able to take advantage of that but no!! I also have to hold my boob all the time I'm feeding otherwise it's too heavy for poor DD and it falls out of her mouth. again!

CantSleepWontSleep · 19/02/2009 10:50

Ah yes, with you on that last point mm - tis a pain.
I can feed lying down though, although ds doesn't get winded properly then so I tend not to.

I'd go out myjob. They will leave a card if you aren't in won't then, and then you can re-arrange a delivery that suits you.

I don't understand why you can't feed lying down? Can't you use blankets/ pillows if some "propping" is needed?

I'm off on a weaning talk arranged by the HV soon...they got me in early just in case...

Marthasmama · 19/02/2009 13:27

I think I just have a mental bloke with feeding lyind down. I tried really hard with DS but he was so 'kicky' that it was a total nightmare. I have tried with DD but I can't seem to fathom it! Then DD gets angry so I have to give up!

Anything exciting MyJob? I love internet shopping and the resulting lovely parcels! When I haven't ordered anything for a while I get withdrawal. I am currently buying M's 6-9 month wardrobe so I might order some stuff later today. Yay!
