Myjob you are right. I hope it is because they are too busy and not because the daemon postpartum depression has got to them. Accessorisequeen has a good excuse with the twins

CantSleepWontSleep · 12/02/2009 08:23

CherryChoc - your EC tendencies now qualify you to overtake me as the hippiest parent on this thread .

Talking of high chairs, I fell in love with this in John Lewis yesterday, but have just read the reviews on Kiddicare and it sounds like it's not terribly easy to clean, which is a priority for me.

Am sure that I've seen GWTMH posting from time to time around the rest of the site.

Ronshar - yes to spotty rash on chin (but not neck).

hi all,

csws - i think I should get the prize for most weight gained as Joe has put on nearly 10lb - a little unfair as he was lighter at birth and has had a few more weeks to put in on!!

We have a babydan chair - cheaper version of the tripp trapp and Joe will go in there when old enough and ds1 will graduate to a booster seat - anyone suggest a good one??

I have jsut bought a bf necklace as i am covered in scratches etc and Joe is constantly trying to look over his shoulder at his big brother...hope it works. he was more settled last night - one wake up at 4.15 and i think it was because i tried to get him to concentrate...hope it continues.

Took Joe to water babies this morning to 'learn to swim' did it with ds1 and he loves swimming and being under water. as the pool was closed as some brat lovely child was sick in the pool last night so its still being cleaned - i'll try next week

Honeymoon - so glad poppy has been less sick and yes it may work that quick - it did with Joe.

Myjob - sorry you had so little sleep, i get headaches too when i get no sleep. Joe was up til 6am but luckily i was able to drop off for an hour or so til ds1 woke.

pistachio - I wasn't planning on getting a fancy high chair at all this time. Just saw them as we were in the nursery dept getting something else for a friend. I thought that we might splash out £13 for an Ikea one this time. Dd has this, with pink cushions of course! It's designed to last for years, hence theoretically needing a new one for ds, but she hasn't actually used it much lately, as she likes to sit on the same type of chair as the rest of us.
loulou, I highly recommend this booster seat for an older child.

If headaches are due to tiredness then I'm not sure that mine will ever go!!

myjob - naomi has gained 74.4% of her birthweight, which is great when you think of it in those terms. Aren't they supposed to aim for doubling their weight by 6 months, or have I made that up?!

OP posts:
CantSleepWontSleep · 12/02/2009 13:36

And grrr for your snowglobe, although I have no idea what one is!

Hi all, I get the booby prize for weight gain this week - I've just had Poppy weighed and she has stayed the same weight since last week. I'm not too concerned ... yet. Fingers crossed for next week!

CSWS, didn't you mention an Ikea highchair which was cheap but good?

Poppy has hardly been sick at all today.

loulou33 · 12/02/2009 15:34

honeymoon - great that p has not been sick and i'm sure she'll put on weight this week

myjob - i had looked at that booster seat and its in my price range. i like the one you suggest csws and i have a high chair similar to that one and ds1 loved it as he could get really close to the table and us!! there is a thread about sleepin 4-5 month olds and n sounds just the same as the others on there. i can't do links but csws knows where it is!!

right off to pick up ds1 from nursery and stop joe from dribblng on the keyboard!!

heather1980 · 12/02/2009 16:48

afternoon, we have this one www.mothercare.com/Mothercare-Oslo-highchair/dp/B000M4VXXW/sr=1-7/qid=1234456950/ref=sr_1_7/277-8669 913-0154612?_encoding=UTF8&m=A2LBKNDJ2KZUGQ&n=44567031&mcb=core
which is rubbish and this one www.mothercare.com/Chicco-Happy-Snack-highchair-scribble/dp/B001CC0FMI/sr=1-49/qid=1234457073/ref=sr 149/277-8669913-0154612?_encoding=UTF8&m=A2LBKNDJ2KZUGQ&n=44567031&mcb=core which is ok but a bit of a pain to clean the seat.

alex went for his jabs today. last lot now till he's 1 year. he's a bit grumpy but not as bad as he was after the last lot. he's sleeping atm, we've had to put him back in the moses basket as it's the only place he'll sleep! his little legs are a bit squashed but i think he likes being enclosed. i may have to look for a wedge of some sort, coz he's in a cot bed which his massive and i think he feels a bit lost in it.

Honeymoonmummy · 12/02/2009 18:13

Awww bless Heather. Could you put rolled-up towel in the bits he's not likely to roll towards to make it a bit more enclosed for him?

DH has come in and reminded me that the reflux had got worse in the past week before we started the new drugs, so that prob explains it.

Just been to the supermarket while DH looks after Poppy, ah, the smell of freedom!

loulou33 · 12/02/2009 20:13

i'm just looking after it til naomi catches up

heather - try using rolled up towels or moving the cot bumper (if you have one) further down the cot but not too close to his head. We have a crib for Joe but ds1 went straight into his cot and was lost for a while in there. Towels and cot bumper helped and having his big floppy rabbit next to him

just a quick(ish) question for those with older tots - ds1 still wears nappies at night. we used to use nature babycare nappies but they leaked so for the last year we have been using pampers babydry size 5 and now 5+. this last week they have leaked every night and consequently he has been woken early by this. He's only about 13kg so the nappies should be the right size but they are not working. i have cut out juice after tea and he only has a little beaker of milk before bed but his nappy is absolutely full in the morning and he is soaking as well. what nappies do you use at night that work?? Tonight he is wearing his usual nappy with a dri-nite nappy for older children over the top (as they were far too big for him on their own)!!

CantSleepWontSleep · 12/02/2009 20:45

loulou - dd has been dry at night for a while, but before she was she was in size 6 pampers pull ups. She's never been a very heavy wetter, so I don't know how they'd stand up to the test, but we never had any problems with them.

You've scared everyone off with your pee post pistachio .
Actually I found some of it interesting. Ds has been in size 3 huggies (up to 20lbs iirc), but he can't get through a night in one, so I have to change him during one of his many wakes in the early hours. Today I bought some size 4 Sainsbury's own, which I've never used before, but are supposed to go all the way up to 40lbs, so I'm hoping might hold a bit more. I'm thus not planning on changing him overnight tonight, so we need fingers crossed that he isn't soaked by 5am, or that will most likely result in us being up for the day .

OP posts:
heather1980 · 12/02/2009 23:19

we are in cloth here and use a bumhugger or drybee at night, but dd is in huggies as they are the only ones that suited her. she's in size 5 atm, but we are hoping to start potty training soon.
they both seem to poo in sync, as soon as one has had a poo the other one does! my mil is really pushing for potty training and is doing my head in. she's not quite ready yet, she knows when she's had a wee but not when she wants to do one iyswim, but mil seems to think that she's behind and should be dry by now. she's 2.4 ffs give her time! fewww i needed to get that off my chest!

don't you just love mil?
we're off to centreparcs with them the week after next and she thinks that ds should be on bottles so i can have a rest and enjoy myself. but i don't want him on bottles, he's bf fgs. i like bf him, it's best for him. she got all smug when i gave him a dummy and was all told you so...arggg. i may come back a quivering wreak! also my fil gets all embarrassed by my feeding so i can see myself spending a lot of time in the bedroom.... god i don't want to go..
