aw daisy you poor thing. life is taking the piss out of you atm. feel for you.

well i was having a really really crap day, thomas woke up on the nightmare side of the bed this morning () tried to go tesco, but his tantrums made us miss the bus and i wasnt going to wait 30mins in the cold for the next one. so we came home, and he had a tantrum about that too.
i put him in his room as soon as we got home, and he stayed there till michael got home from work, because i was just so mad at him i was concerned he would end up murdered b4 daddy got home to save the day.

then michaels walks in from work, 2 hours early, with a bunch of flowers and a box of chocolates. he went and had a chat with tom, and they both came down and tom said sorry and gave me a hug

i love my husband

LoveaDAISYcal · 14/02/2009 17:32

it's not taking the piss natty; these things happen I suppose. At least it's forced my hand on the dieting issue

What a nice surprise from your DH. I got a wee bunch of roses (from a certain supermarket bought with staff discount no doubt ) and a lovely card....and he's kept the kids out of my way all day too, so my DH is pretty fabby at the minute.

NattyPlus2andAHalf · 14/02/2009 17:41

ah well lifes taking the piss outta me lmao!

i feel better now, i was avoiding posting earlier (am turning into a bit of a lurker!) cos didnt wanna bring the thread down with my moaning. i know i have no patentice for the kids atm, and i know its cos im tried and stressed about money, but it doesnt help much that i know why. iuswim.

i said to dh about trading me in for a better model.
he said he would be in danger of cradle snatching if he went much younger looking. cheeky sod

Sputnik · 14/02/2009 17:51

That's sweet of your DH Natty.
I'm hoping mine will come home tomorrow with some mangoes or something.

I was so anxious to avoid cleaning I did some baking with DD. On the plus side though, we are al so full of cheesy biscuits that dinner will probably just be symbolic.

Glad you got a bit of a break Tallulah. Don't know why but you somehow imagine twins will want to eat and sleep at the same time but obviously there's no reason why they should. Congratulations on their speedy growth too! IKWYM about knowing it's your last, I have tried to be pretty ruthless about getting rid of stuff, but I must admit to hanging on to the odd sleepsuit.

Re our new house, we are supposed to be meeting up to do the initial agreement to buy and pay deposit this week, but lawyer says there are probs so we'll see. We might manage to move around May if it all goes smoothly, it is going to be sooo strange living in a flat, but hopefully I'll be able to do some of the citified things that I can't now.

LoveaDAISYcal · 14/02/2009 18:16

Will you have a garden Sputnik, or outside space? I don't think I could go back to living in a flat again after having a garden.

I hope you enjoyed your me time Tallulah and that DD3 stayed sleeping for a while!

TALLULAHBELLE · 14/02/2009 18:35

She's still asleep. I had to wake her up for a feed & she dropped right back off. As did DT1 after being out in the fresh air. They will likely be up all night now but at least I had some R&R so worth it.

NattyPlus2andAHalf · 14/02/2009 19:15

glad you got a break T, i cant imagine how hard twins must be with the old sleep deprivation, i know i found two at night hard at first and that was with tom sleeping at least 6 hours when ellen was born.

sputnik hope all goes well with the move, moving is so stressful, im not doing it again until the kids are litrally killing each other sharing a room. hopefully by then we will both be working full time so we can buy somewhere (im thinking about 5 years time)
i dont much fancy renting forever.

my boiler works! i have had on/off heating and water since we moved in, turned out to be a simple problem with the tempreature gauge. so yay, i had a hot bath today and my heating actually heats the house up (insteadof just using loads of gas!)

im having a chinese, as got a killer migrane, and DH doesnt fancy risotto.

naughty as we cant really afford it and will regret it later in the week when we run out of gas!!

keepingitRia · 14/02/2009 19:21

thanks for the cake Tbelle

DH didn't even ring to tell me he wasn't coming home on a break. So I've had to slum it with a bottle of white from the co-op, and I am irrationally cross with the kids. DS2 broke the pack of winegums he was buying so didn't want them, so I said OK we'd buy them anyway for daddy, so he went and got more fecking wine gums, and has broken the tube in half since we got home. And I asked DS2 to pop back in and get margarine, and there might be one on BOGOF (as the co-op is a bit pricey), so he did but there was only 1 tub. I over-estimated his common sense (I know I am being mean and expecting too much of them, I am cross about such a stupid day)

NattyPlus2andAHalf · 14/02/2009 19:46

ah ria, i know that feeling.
hope your evening is ok, and that you feel better tomorrow. try and see each new day as a fresh start and try to forget everything from the day b4 that made you cross.

(even if everytime you open the fridge the marg is in there to remind you!!!)

doggus · 14/02/2009 19:51

Natty - be careful of your Chinese, don't want to be a spoilsport but if there's a lot of MSG in it it can give me a migraine and if you have one already....Your dh sounds like a keeper btw

I have been at a 7 year old's party all afternoon with ds who was company for 7 year old's little bro. Ds ruined their games of Musical Statues by poking each child or gently pulling their hair as they were keeping their pose. We mums were in bits. Ds' tea consisted of cheesy wotsits, 2 quality streets and a fairy cake. There may be trouble ahead....

NattyPlus2andAHalf · 14/02/2009 19:56

lol doggus, partys always result in too much chocolate and other naughty behaviour enducing food!

ive taken some pain killers (fourth day in a row now) so migrane has gone off.
didnt get to eat much of the food as the kids BOTH decided to do a poo when it turned up, so i was up in the bedroom changing them by the time i came back down it was cold.

grr children!

LoveaDAISYcal · 14/02/2009 19:57

oh dear doggus, he sounds like a bit of a tiny terror

second what doggus says on the Chinese food Natty; MSG is well known for causing headaches.

I feel awful again . I ate some croutony type things so it's my own fault I suppose. I'm going to call the OOH doc tomorrow or go to A&E if it gets really bad again.

NattyPlus2andAHalf · 14/02/2009 20:05

aw daisy sorry you are still in pain. i really hope they sort it out quickly for you. did they say when your scan would be?

doggus · 14/02/2009 20:15

Daisy - tiny terror is a very accurate description...but because he's charming he gets away with it! Poor poor you, I think you should go to A&E, if they run tests on you you may be lucky enough to get a diagnosis then and there.

Natty - sympathise on the Chinese. My dh has gone out to get us fish and chips and they are bloody horrible when cold, I bet ds has a bad dream just as I sit down....

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 14/02/2009 20:48

Poor you Daisy. Natty - sorry you didn't get much of your chinese, but for your DH. Sputnik - fingers crossed for the move going smoothly. Tallulah - I don't even want to think about the work that twins must be!

Jamlet was a bit confused and unsure about the party, but I think she enjoyed it in the end, although she a bit reluctant to join in much, preferring to sit with me and watch. She certainly liked the table of party food though!

And we've just had our fancy dinner - prawns in spicy tomato sauce, pheasant with low fat roasties, carrots and leeks, with mango, yoghurt and meringues for pudding (a sort of low fat tropical eton mess). Yum yum but I'm stuffed now!

Sputnik · 14/02/2009 21:09

Ah you poor thing Daisy.
Shame about the cold chinese Natty.

New flat is on the 3rd floor with a tiny balcony, but there is a massive park about 100m away, and SIL's house is 10 mins walk and she has a garden. We're planning to come back to our current house at weekends and in the summer anyway, we'll see how that works out. But actually the garden here is so child hostile it's pretty useless, a park with nice flat paths they can bike on, swings etc could be a lot better.

Bumperslucious · 15/02/2009 08:34

Hello all

Still feeling grotty here, both me and DH. Really snotty and DH is coughing a lot. Don't know when we will feel better, poor DD is being pretty neglected and babysat by Cbeebies atm. She is very funny though, she keeps doing comedy falls.

Had a nice meal last night and DH and I actually sat down and talked, it was really nice. We haven't done that in a long time.

Hope you all enjoyed your meals. Not much of a day to look forward to here, supermarket and sitting on the sofa under the duvet. I wish we had family around to take DD off our hands for the day or I can't see DH and I getting any better.

HellHathNoFury · 15/02/2009 08:45

Daisy, sorry to hear about your ills. Do go to A&E if it gets worse.

And Bumper, DH and I have been suffering with a cold to a greater or lesser extent for a month now, I can truly sympathise.

Yesterday I had a mate come over (I don't 'do' Valentines Day, I an SO not a fan) and we went to a japanese restaurant. DS was so funny, we gave him some sushi, roe, gyoza and tempura and the like and just looked at it like we had served him up shit on a plate.
After 10 minutes though he was devouring it like it was going out of fashion. Funny boy.

My parents think it's weird that he will eat anything, but that's only because exotic food to them is sweet and sour pork.

Bumperslucious · 15/02/2009 08:57

That sounds great fury. DD is a bit of a fussy begger atm, but I was pleased that she was munching on prawns the other day. Now, if I could just get her to eat some veg...

The cold must be worse for you fury, at least I can dose up on sudofed finally after 2 years of being pg or bfing!

Sputnik, get you with your two homes! FWIW living in a flat has been great for us, DD can just roam around whereever she wants, I can go to the loo and still know where she is, no stairs to contend with, plus there's none of the faff of going upstairs and forgetting what you went up for! Saying that we are considering moving to somewhere with a garden. I love our flat but not having a garden is a PITA and depressing in the summer as if we want to get out it's such a palavar to pack everything up and walk somewhere by which time DD is fed up!

OP posts:
keepingitRia · 15/02/2009 09:47

and this morning (obviously because it's Sunday)

DH is not off today (fair enough, it's too much to expect every week), but he's off tomorrow and Tuesday, and because those are the days the boss said he would be having every week I have booked DS1 in on holiday activities for both days. No quality family time this half term then. And they won't let him take any of the days off he is owed this week either.

I know I need to get over it, as that's the job etc, but just once it would be nice if there was a bit of give instead of take, take, take (I believe he got home just before 1am last night. I think his boss turned up between about 2pm & 10pm. Not fair)

Sorry for ranting

and it turns out baggins had hidden the car keys yesterday. Little monkey.

TALLULAHBELLE · 15/02/2009 11:40

Morning. Sorry for your ruined weekend Ria & for your rotten colds Bumper & Fury.

DD has been 'helping' with the babies this morning. We did the nappies together - she wiped DT2's bum then washed her own face with the cloth - thankfully no poo- then tidied away the dirty nappies -down the toilet.

keepingitRia · 15/02/2009 12:31

Hi Tbelle.

I am going shopping now instead. But it's not quite the same.

I need to move away from the computer NOW!!!

NattyPlus2andAHalf · 15/02/2009 12:40

arse for you ria. DH work is the same, it sucks doesnt it.
sorry you wont get anytime together as a family now, DH is off tomorrow but thats my midwifes appoint and im not allowed to take the children. so looks like im not seeing him either.

kids being good. they are being really soppy and telling me that "i look poorly" (i didnt sleep last night for long, not for good VDay reasons neither lol)

am going to hide indoors all day today its too cold and too much of a faff to put coats and that on all of us. need to catch up on washing anyway.

so who else is hiding in their house today or am i the only one?

Sorry to hear about everyone's illnesses. Daisy yours sounds nasty....

We're none too good here either - ds has got MRSA so we've got a special soap for him plus creams and have to wash our hands after touching him. He needs another skin swab on Friday to find out if this has worked, or else it will be some strong AB's (& keeping our fingers crossed that works or else I don't know what else there is to try )

So, I'm v out of date with all the threads as I've not had much time recently! Will probably be lurking for a little while until we sort things out....
