I have decided DS is a genius.
He knows lots of colours now, and can say his name, and asks for help when he is stuck (he says 'halp').
He says when he has gone to the toilet, knows all our relatives names when he sees a photo (including those he has never met) and helps me put the laundry in piles as he knows who's clothes belong to who.

I'm sure it's no different to anyone else but of course I am proud parent and allowed to think that I have borne the next einstein

Ohforfoxsake · 13/02/2009 19:21

Congrats Fury

And yes, he is indeed a genius

Well done Bumper, sounds like a lot of effort. Well done for being arsed and doing it at all

we are having a meal for VD tomorrow, only cos we both forgot our wedding anniversary, we dont ususally bother, as we both feel its a kids thing really. would have done the M&S thing but was half this weeks food budget and couldnt justify it.
im doing risotto for the main after todays lunch time success, (DH wasnt here and has expressed an interest in it lol)
pancakes and fruit for pudding as is DH fave, and i can never normally be bothered.
dunno about starter. fancy something prawny but using bread in main.. hmm

ellen is not drinking any milk in a beaker regulary, i offer it to her if she is a bit poorly, or hasnt eaten well that day, but other then that she has porrige in the morning, and yogurts everyday for pudding, plus any cheese/butter in meals. so i thought that was ok. hope shes getting enough calcuim ive never really thought about it tbh.

how is everyone? i been cleaning for 2 days, and not been on mumsnet once, are you proud of me??

NattyPlus2andAHalf · 13/02/2009 19:41

burnsi have a lemsip

Ohforfoxsake · 13/02/2009 19:49

I was thinking a wee nip of whisky sorry to hear you are feeling crap Burnsie.

Sounds nice Natty. Enjoy!

doggus · 13/02/2009 20:04

bumper - thank God you are still using bottles, makes me feel better. Ds has 200ml in the morning and 200 ml in the evening. He has water in between, in a spout cup. I just can't face stopping his bottles.

Burnsy and Ria - poor youse, this cold is a stinker, Nurofen Plus works a treat (not if you're pg). Ds has had attractive rivulets of green snot trickling from nostrils all day (as have I).

LackaDAISYcal · 13/02/2009 20:05

been to the emergency doc tonight after another episode like last sunday. He think gallstones or peptic ulcer so is going to do an urgent referral for ultrasound scan and further investigations. I've got cocodamol and some acid suppressants and feeling shite. trying to look after three kids whilst not being able to straighten up was no fun at all. and of course ds was acting up and dd running riot.

it's lessened off now but still lots of residual pain.

sorry you are feeling poorly burnsy

and official congrats to fury..what does that make you? about 14 weeks?

Ohforfoxsake · 13/02/2009 20:10

Oh Daisy shitty-shitey-arse for you. Are you OK?

LackaDAISYcal · 13/02/2009 20:21

feeling a bit sorry for myself foxy

and thinking I might have to forego my lovely meal tomorrow

TALLULAHBELLE · 13/02/2009 20:24

Poor you Daisy. Hope you get sorted soon. Must be a nightmare trying to look after 3 kids & feeling so ill.

LittleMissNorty · 13/02/2009 20:24

Daisy....I worry after every meal I eat its going to happen. Glad you're getting a referral. I need to do the same now DS is here.

Wise words Tallulah.....I'm fine thanks, just sleep deprived.....I take my hat off to you doing it with twins.....and bf.....

Ohforfoxsake · 13/02/2009 20:25

Have you got anyone to help you Daisy? Can you have a rest? I really feel for you

I thought of you today though. B&Q have sheds for £60

LackaDAISYcal · 13/02/2009 20:43

dh is home now. lol (in a wincing fashion) at sheds.

norty is it usual to feel sick and shivery and like your bottom is about to explode? and how long does pain go on for? this started building at 3.30 and is still going.

snd crucially, other than low fat diet, is there anythin you csan do once the pain starts or is it a case of grin and bear it till it's over?

Bumperslucious · 13/02/2009 20:55

Daisy that's crap, but at least the dr's are doing something. Hope you feel better soon, and burnsy too.

Fury, that's brilliant, you are welcome to boast on here, the only thing I ask is that we avoid competive guilting. I know we all feel permanent guilt now we are mum's, and believe me, I have a lot to feel guilty about, I am very neglectful and lazy, but is it just me who hears other mothers say they feel really guilty about something and think 'God, I do that quite regularly and never feel guilty about it'? Well, I then feel guilty about not feeling guilty (vicious cycle anyone?).

The M&S thing was expensive natty, we only did it because we had vouchers. Hope you have a nice meal though, sounds lovely.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 13/02/2009 20:55

Daisy. Sorry you're feeling so bad again.

And sorry for those with illness (Burnsi and any others). I can't tell if I am coming down with DH's illness of not .

Birthday party to take Jamlet to tomorrow. And another trip to the gym for me.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 13/02/2009 20:59

Natty, I've got a risotto recipe that we have reasonably often - it's got mackeral in it though, and I know that's not everyone's cup of tea. Let me know if you'd like it and I'll send it to you. We like it because it's tasty (in our opinion) and mackeral is cheap (the type you buy in vacuum sealed packs)

justbeme · 13/02/2009 21:07

Evening!
Daisy hope you get some help sorted - sounds painful - at least Norty can hold your hand.

and to everyone else who feels ill..
and Congrats to Fury. Its fab having a Aug birthday cos you're not at school!!

Well, if we're going to boast about things, then my boast is that L is fascinated by birds and she has a bird book. If you ask her where the: Green woodpecker, pigeon, magpie, robin, chaffinch, blackbird, swan and blue tit are, she can find them in the book. she's also got a dog book and can find breeds of dogs that friends have!! On the minus side, she still doesnt respond to "No!".

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 13/02/2009 21:08

Oooooh, am loving this

Ohforfoxsake · 13/02/2009 21:08

Hi JBM! Nice to 'see' you

Am very, very impressed with your DD!

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 13/02/2009 21:10

That is very impressive JBM!

Bumperslucious · 13/02/2009 21:14

Wow JBM that's impressive. Won't be long before she can do the different bird calls! DH can do that - he's such a country boy!

OP posts:
LackaDAISYcal · 13/02/2009 21:25

I'm impressed by the bird names and the colours...., who thinks all animals are either dog or "piss" (fish for the uninitiated)

phew pain has settled down now. I need to eat though but am terrified.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 13/02/2009 21:27

OK bed for me. Am so cold Should really have a bath to warm me up, but am so tired and if I am going to the gym early tomorrow, waht's the point? Am all inspired with this healthy living now and want to keep it up. Especially as the scales showed another 1kg lost this week
