Wilkie - congrats on the blue

Shimmer - glad you're enjoying it, sounds totally exhausting

Raisin/eandh - ditto on sleep deprivation. Am shattered. And have so much less patience when shattered

Who was asking about milk? I don't intend to swap mine over to semi skimmed any time soon TBH. I admit I am totally anal about what they eat and drink, but as far as milk is concerned, I feel they are 2 healthy and very active kids in no danger of obesity. I think at this age they need calories, especially since I'm so anal about what they eat otherwise !

We had a burst water main here, which was a PITA as these things are. The whole mains pipe is rusted to hell. But the complete donkey who had the house before us built an extension over the water main, so if we decided to replace the whole pipe to prevent more bursts (or if we don't replace it and wait until it does burst again) we would have to dig up the floor and remove half of the kitchen to reach it . This is the same twat as did DIY plumbing and electrics which left us with an enormous leak in an unearthed house

Sorry, not caught up properly but,

Wilkie- Luke gets mini erections when he is growing. I seem to remember that at about 2-3 he would wake up totally freaked out about it but has got used to it now. He has suddenly developed the habbit of getting his willie out in the day and either looking at it while squeasing it or waving it about at people! Boys are horrible! I wouldnt worry unless he is in pain. Shame about the name.

Rgee- Not long now. Are you excited?!

Lizz- Hope things are better with your dad.

2happy- Seems the more children you have, the more bugs you get!

All ok here. Having a nightmare getting Rachel to give up breastfeeding and take formula and after trying everything everyone has suggested including refusing to feed her in the day to try to make her take a bottle or cup for 4 days (still giving her what lttle food she eats, water and breastfeed at morning and night) I have given up. I am now feeding her 3 times a day and going to just deal with it for now. When she is a bit older will try again but for the moment we are both happier when I am breastfeeding her! Got so stressed out as she was crying all day and still refusing formula so this is just easier. At least I know that she can manage if I am out for day.

On the upside after a week of waking 3-4 times a night for feed and having 4 in day over easter, she has started to sleep through for last 5 nights since we got back from FIL's for easter.

Hope everyone else ok. x

eandh · 21/04/2009 20:34

rgee- you in labour yet

2happy- fingers crossed no lurgy for you

dh- think you have made a decision that suits you and rachel - good luck

wilkie/pcf - how are the bumps?

nothing to report here been in london for 2 days training - had to leave at 6.45am and not home till gone 7pm (girls stayed at my parents sumday and monday nights) i dont know how anyone does that everyday

Reggiee · 21/04/2009 21:46

Ohhhh....people.......

Dragon I am so not looking forward to the sleepless nights - it's great to hear that R is sleeping though. And the potential emotional minefield that is breastfeeding (I managed it for 6 weeks then 13 weeks mixed and found it absolutely horrendous).

2H hope that the lo's recover without passing it on.

Eah you must be knackered after your long days.

Not in labour yet, but still shed loads of regular BH. Starting to wonder if I'll know when I go into labour.

BTW, re names. We now have two favourite names, but my preferred first name would mean initials B.O.G. Am not too sure if initials matter or if it is irrelevant and no one notices initials. What do you think?

Dragonhart · 21/04/2009 22:12

Rgee- Had terrible first few months with Luke but was so so lucky that we had a brilliant breastfeeding councillor in our area at the time. First few weeks hard 2nd and 3rd time round but definately a quicker learning curve. With Luke I took each day at a time and each day I did was a bonus. Either way you will have a lovely little boy. x And I dont think that initials matter. We have an LCD and a RAD.

EAH- Sounds like a long day. How long is it for?

Forgot to say that I had the contraceptive implant put in my arm yesterday and it is so odd. I can feel it under the skin. Didnt hurt though which I though it would. Will let you know how I go on!

Dragonhart · 21/04/2009 22:13

Oops! Obviously 2 days long EAH!

Shimmer · 23/04/2009 22:17

Hi all. Initials don't matter RGee. B.O.G. certainly isn't bad at all. I completely sympathise re. the breastfeeding issue. I also had a completely horrible time bfeeding and am 90% sure I won't even try next time round (I'm leaving 10% just in case it suddenly feels all natural and I get the urge and it all works perfectly...). I KNOW lots of people will say that's not the right decision but my bfeeding trauma really made me not enjoy the first 6 weeks of F's little life and I will NOT let that happen again. It certainly is an emotional subject....

The shopfitting is going okay this week, some bits have changed as we go along, which I knew would happen, but pretty much all on track at the moment. It looks like it will run over scheduale a bit though so we'll be frantically trying to finish off on Sunday and not get a family day off together AGAIN.

eandh · 24/04/2009 06:03

shimmer about sunday, please post some pics when its done

Rgee - intials are fine its not that often you write intials including middle names my 2 are EPP and HAP! I'm trying to guess the name now is it Benjamin Oliver???

Had a lovely few days as the weather been so nice the girls have been in the garden from mid morning till tea time so in turn they are shattered and Hattie falling asleep 5.30/6 and Ellie by 6pm in fact they are still both in bed but some twod had a really noisy van that he starts at 5.30 so I woke up. Very excited today as having a company around to clean all of the conservatory, normally I spend a day just doing the bits I can reach but dh plays footie with one of these blokes and they are onlu charging £40 to do the whole thing in and out and Eddas and her ds popping round this morning too (not working today because I did the training at beginning of the week)

eandh · 24/04/2009 06:05

actually just noticed people missing

Lizz
Wilkie
PCF (not sure shes back online yet)

hope you're okay

Lizzzombie · 24/04/2009 09:26

Coo-ee!
I am here, lurking around.

eah - welcome to the best decade of your life so far. I swear, my 30's have been great. Not in terms particularly of what I have done or achieved, but how I feel in my own skin. I am confident and happy with who I am iykwim? Anyway, hope you got good presents! My sister was 30 on the 13th of April, and I swear to talk to her it was like the end of the world! Shes married with 2 kids and is mortaged up to the eyeballs, and apparently thats it, there is nothing else to look forward to in her life... !

rgee - how exciting, not long to go now! BOG is not a problem in initials, my sister's mate when she was little was called "Boggy" as a nickname from his sirname, it was endearing!

Thanks for people asking about my Dad. He's at home recovering, and although a bit shaken he is doing ok.

Can I just ask about boobs people...
I have a pain in my right boob, have had it for a while now, and have an appt with the Dr. I don't think its a lump, and according to NHS Direct (dangerous website!) breast pain is quite a common thing, does anyone else have it?

Right, its totally sunny here, really need to get my arse in gear! x Laters x

laughalot · 24/04/2009 12:55

Lizz I swear on my works night out the other day I was talking to you lol my friend said she was having pains in her right boobie and was a bit worried and she has booked a docs appointment too. You will be fine good job you are going to get it checked though. By the way how is your dad ?

I think its benjamin too but maybe oscar as the middle name .

Right need to finish cleaning back laters.....

eandh · 24/04/2009 13:55

or

benedict
brian
barry
baranby
blair
brenden/brandon

etc etc

Lizz - think a trip to Drs is needed best to get things checked out

Lizzzombie · 24/04/2009 14:08

ROTFL @ Brian..or Barry!
Imagine.
Who calls their babies that these days? Anyone?

  • gosh, sorry if you are planning on Brian or Barry RGEE, but I am guessing you are more discerning!

A mother at work the other day said her ds1 (10) was keen to call her about to be born new ds Brian, then he went on to name several other names..one, of which was Stewie, then she realised it was the cast of Family Guy!

There is a Benito in DJ's class at nursery. Are you going all European and fancy maybe?

LAL - I hope your friend is ok. I would be most interested in what her Dr says. I am seeing mine on Thursday morning next week. I am sure he thinks I am a total hypochondriac. I hate going to see him. And I am not relishing the thought of getting my boobs out either.

laughalot · 24/04/2009 14:37

Hmmmmmmmmmm my dads name is brian lol

eandh · 24/04/2009 15:58

I quite like Barnaby
