Miamla · 04/02/2009 21:05

petitfilou way ahead of you re ex-bf! i sent him a trxt earlier!

poppy blimey, you're lucky you can see in your crystal ball that you're going to have a birthday cake emergency at the end of the month. Now if only you knew of a local FBG looking for an excuse to escape...

Miamla · 04/02/2009 21:08

xpost... oh poppy, you poor thing. how has DD2 been since?

Buckets · 04/02/2009 21:14

PF, YANBU - he was not babysitting or doing you a favour or scoring points, he was spending time with his daughter! Don't see why this would stop him wondering how dinner for 4 was going to magically appear on your arrival.

I'm off to bed as my hands are too cold to type!

PetitFilou1 · 04/02/2009 21:16

miamla Blimey I'd have to get up early in the morning to catch you

sazzles I got dd's and ds1's dinner ready before I went out and then I cooked mine and dh's dinner later on too (tuna linguine made with fresh tuna - didn't take very long but I was so tired and hungry I was in a foul temper)

Thanks everyone. DD2 absolutely fine by bedtime and giggling like a maniac at songs (another massive vote for the Grand Old Duke of York here btw). Unfortunately I don't think DD1 really understands what happened as I didn't really go to town at the time as I needed her to a. tell me what had happened and b. behave at the hospital. DH was supposed to have a word when he got home, but didn't . She's always been slightly on the rough side with DD2 but in a sort of over-zealous loving sort of way. Will just need to keep a closer eye on them again for a while.

Thanks for the tip re: face cream Dizzy. Will def. give it a go (Aveeno didn't work for us though ).

BTW miamla - lovely thought re: the elderly lady. Glad your DP's happy with the arrangement.

And also, pf. Think the blouse is gorgeous. What were you thinking about for the bottom half?

PetitFilou1 · 04/02/2009 21:20

buckets He feels he WAS doing me a favour. If he had to look after the children normally, the house would look beautiful but the children would be feral. Alternatively they would be dragged to the tip/B&Q/Tesco accompanying him while he did jobs 'because they like it'

He does help a lot but he also becomes absorbed in his work a lot. Anyway, I know I'm not being totally rational about it - I'm just pissed off that he's gone to his dad's for two nights to be waited on hand and foot and to have fancy meals cooked by my step mum and to have two nights undisturbed sleep grrrr

PetitFilou1 · 04/02/2009 21:25

sazzles Have you tried Avent Magic Cream on her face (or anything with high percentage of shea butter is well worth a go)

poppy Sorry about dd2's stomping upon. dd is similarly rough with Toby and has bitten him twice on the hand which could not be described as being over zealous as was very much on purpose

Re the blouse, was thinking wide leg trousers - would rather a dress but difficult to get dresses to fit me. There is a bf dress I could buy but it may not fit round the bum/hip area.....

Poppy - What a fright for you and DD2. {{HUGS}}

Sazzles have they ruled out thrush? I know someone who put the Metanium on their LO's face too at night and it worked a treat. She put a thin layer of doublebase then put the Metanium over the top.

Wide leg trousers sound great pf (not that I know about these things...). Would be a good buy though as you could put it with a skirt/dress on another occasion - or so you could tell yourself/DH .

Simple solution sazzles - sent DD1 in his direction and make sure she knows where to go for the rest of the night. Only fair, surely.

sambo303 · 04/02/2009 21:38

pf love that blouse and trousers would look lovely with it. ps I cant afford Laura Mercier either hence the parlous state of my finances

sazzles it must be paprika nite - I made veggie goulash for tea

miamla lovely for your ex bf gran to have such a thoughtful ex gf of gson!

put ds down for a nap about 2.30-3pm and woke when dp came in from work at 4.30!!!

sambo303 · 04/02/2009 21:45

maria would just like to say I have fully implemented the getting up at 7 and bedtime at 7 routine and am loosely following the routine you outlined and whilst ds is still waking lots at night, it feels so much better having a structure to the day and I am sure it will pay dividends in future - wanted to say all that at the meet up . Any hoo, ds is going into his own room in 1 month (he's 5 months today) and I think that will improve things

sambo303 · 04/02/2009 22:06

just gave ds some ebm in a bottle - he only drank 70ml so guess I'll be up at midnight etc again tonight

I have just hung the curtains in DD's room now I just need to get a blackout blind and She will be ready for it in a month or so time. I would love to have her in with us longer but her cot will not fit through our door and I'm not taking apart again! and she is getting a bit big for her moses basket.

She was weighed today as she had dropped off her line to below the 9th centile. She has put on 10oz in the last week so all that constant feeding is doing it's job. or it was all just the pea soup from last night

oopsacoconut · 04/02/2009 22:15

Snow falling nicely here so going to boost heating and head to feed DD and go to bed. Dh just told me 'oh we must be up and ready by 8am the builders are coming to insulate the roof at 8.15' I was planning a cold day in bed with DD and some dvd's.

hmm - ds crying so I settled with a bf and seems he was still hungry. Tasted the left over ebm in the bottle and it tasted odd - like milk about to go off, so maybe he did not like the taste. Have had this issue before with milk tasting slightly sour after only 1 day in the fridge - should I lower the fridge temp?

sambo303 · 04/02/2009 22:43

brrr sazzles my heating is on at 25 - we've had it on since Nov , none of this turning it off at night in this household!
