Morning all - passes round hot coffee to bleary eyed folk.

A better night here. Feeds at 2.30 and 5.30.
Though I couldn't get back to sleep as there were noises downstairs. I hadn't heard anyone get up so thought maybe French burglers were very quiet. So at 6.30 braved myself to investigate.
OF course it was just PIL who was up and about.

oopsacoconut · 04/02/2009 09:12

TS Just popping on to say that I will be thinking of you today.

Loads more snow last night and more on the way apparently. We were supposed to be going to a friend today but our road doesn't get gritted and is 1/2 inch of solid ice, DH had to walk to work today and was not pleased!

A better night last night feeds at 10, 2 and 6 then asleep until 8. She did an enormous poo at somepoint between the 6 feed and gotting up, when I got her out of our bed there was poo everywhere. I was as she was wearing a night nappy and leakproof wrap!

Steaknife · 04/02/2009 09:13

All this talk about feeling good about how we look reminded me that the ladies on my sewing forum rate this book highly.

It is aimed at the over 45s but from the look of his website it seems there must be some few tips in there for anyone else struggling with getting the inner them out.

More of his makeovers here.

oops ooh full English, thanks so much. French are terrible at baked beans.

Sazzles - I was always bemused by the people that put make-up on on the train. If I tried I would be sure to end up looking like a jackson pollok painting.

sambo303 · 04/02/2009 09:58

morning all

steaky that's my pet hate , the make upping on the train - what are they thinking????

snow lies thick so will postpone my 6 mile walk this afternoon though walking to waterbabies so will chalk up 2 miles this morning, hope I dont slip over!!

to those who dont mind looking like transvestites/ are used to seeing themselves in makeup, can I recommend maybelline colossal volum express mascara - just bought this and it is WOW

oopsacoconut · 04/02/2009 10:23

Make up?? What's that???? I think I heard of it once - I may even have some mascara somewhere

AnnVan · 04/02/2009 11:07

Morning all. well I feel far more human this morning! SIL helped kee plittle man awake all evening. H eventually passed out on the boob about 9ish. he woke twice in the next couple of hours - first time just put dummy in, second time had to hold dummy in while rubbing his back. After that nothing till 9.30 this morning. Hallelujah!! Feel soooooo good for having had some sleep.

rotterpotter · 04/02/2009 11:09

Morning all!

Am sort of of you all still with loads of snow, we haven't got too much left now, just enough to leave a dangerous icy crust on the paths which is really hard to push the pram through. Wish it would either pile down another six inches or bugger off completely

Well sorry to miss the chat and chocolate buttons last night but I went to bed at 8.30pm , good job too as DS was up several times, he had terrible wind and I couldn't even feed him back to sleep . Plus he was shouting so he woke up DD a few times too, she wanted to come in our bed and DH had to wrangle her back in her room, so still quite fatigued today. He's been asleep in his pram for an hour so far this morning, so fingers crossed for a better day!

Am LOLing at all the transvestite-looking makeuppers, and feel your pain. I used to be a goth as a teenager and wouldn't leave the hous without full makeup and sticky-up hair, consequently I can't really be bothered any more but if I do have to be very careful. Then I spend 2 days trying to get the last dregs of mascara of my face, not really worth it!

AnnVan · 04/02/2009 11:27

rotter we mainly just have lots of ice here now. fed up because the pavements are too icy to go any where. DP nearly fell yesterday morning, and smacked his elbow into a wall. He's thinking it might be fractured.

rotterpotter · 04/02/2009 11:55

Ouch Ann, your poor DP. Am and at your DS, that sounds like a brilliant night, long may it continue. My DS slept for about 80 minutes this morning so I'm hoping the last two days and nights were just a hiccup

oopsacoconut · 04/02/2009 12:07

Ann - am so pleased he slept for you. We have had to stop sleeps after 4pm or goes to bed and she sleeps until 11 pm wants to party!then is asleep by 12 and wakes for food as normal and wants to sleep until 10 in the morning! Hope DP is pkay - has he been to A&E to get it checked?

DD just slept just over an hour in her cot!!! She fell asleep on me and I transferred her, put her on her tummy (same position as she was on me) when I went in she had rolled onto her back and was grinning!

Thanks for all your kind messages

I just feel a bit crappola atm - my sister weighs more than I did when I was pg but as I said to her it is all relative as it is what you are used to really isn't it. I'm two stone heavier than when I married dh 6 years ago - and I KNOW I've had three children in the meantime but that doesn't mean I have to be happy about it (the weight not the children!) Anyway I'm just whingeing really so I'll stop as it is tedious.

miamla I recommend lily lolo mineral make-up foundation (hard to go wrong with a powder!) It has a bit of a cult following on MN. And I've being doing my eyeliner like this since I was about 16 so that's twenty years practice which is why I am good at getting it on straight! Anyway, a) I didn't think you needed make up and b) I wish I could go out without mine but I'm too used to it now..... In the 80s I used to be a red lipstick addict as well so it was really hard to go without as I looked so different.

Anyway, Toby is now waking up three times a night so I think I am going to have to wean soon or I am going to collapse from exhaustion. I think I perhaps might not say that on the MN weaning thread however

PetitFilou1 · 04/02/2009 13:08

make upping on the tube is really grim I always think as it is so dirty down there - can't be good for your skin....

sambo303 · 04/02/2009 13:08

ann wonderful news about that sleep - just goes to show he can do it so there's hope

not such a good night here but being stoic about it

well, walk to swimming was aborted. I got about 100 yards after excavating my way out our side gate with a shovel then slid and pushed and decided it was foolhardy. Got a lift with an NCT friend

PetitFilou1 · 04/02/2009 13:10

Here is the link to lily lolo if anyone is interested www.lilylolo.co.uk

and vg I am now a liz earle convert

sambo303 · 04/02/2009 13:15

ooo yes pf can second mineral make up foundation . I use laura mercier and it is truely fab

PetitFilou1 · 04/02/2009 13:16

Hmph I can't AFFORD Laura Mercier

PetitFilou1 · 04/02/2009 13:19

Is this nice or not (still looking for wedding outfit - dress code black tie)

www.monsoon.co.uk/invt/42011225

Bear in mind I have a narrow top half - normally I am a 32 back in bras and I am a size bigger (at least) on the bottom so think outfit for pear shaped person

AnnVan · 04/02/2009 13:47

I like it pf VG I do indeed feel like a new woman. I think little man is feeling the benefit as well. He's in a much better mood than he was yesterday. He was moany just now, but it turned out he'd done a rather large stealth poo.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 04/02/2009 14:23

ann that is fantastic. sleep makes things so much clearer.

starting to feel bit about all this make up talk.

was not that impressed though, could have done it myself tbh.

I also agree mineral is they way to go, as i cant stand foundation on my skin feels cloggy.have mixed products including sheer cover.

pf the top is lovely.
vg i am sure vaseline is ok for that.

what is with all the windy babies??
had that last few nights too.
Marcus woke this am at 7 and cried again for 2 hours, then slept for 2 hours
not sure what is wrong, seems fine now.
dd finaly given in to sleep,dh off,so took dog out, i feeding mopping floor mnetting

Buckets · 04/02/2009 14:40

Sazzles Total Immersion This was the one my DH read.

PF Yep, not liking my tummy and the need to wear longer tops. Guess that's 3 kids for you, I very much enjoyed being miraculously slimmer and more toned than ever after #1 was born but Kurt has 'done for me.' Only got 6lb to lose now but it's all tummy flab and I don't fancy starting sit-ups at my time of life(32).

Ataraxis Both tops v nice. Polo necks and big busts must ne'er the twain meet though (don't think I remember you having humongous boobs). I personally LOVE that blue spotty Roxy dress on there, would wear it over jeans and under a cardi myself.

Ann Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayy

Shazza2002 · 04/02/2009 15:51

Hi ladies

Just popping in to say hi. Hope you're all well. Will try to post more often but never seem to get time.
