Cyteen Have a search on MN Recipes for something you can make with what you've got?

LOL Sazzles your DH has his own workshop! Don't forget to remind him what a lucky man he is. My DH is lucky enough to have his own play music room but as soon as I find a desk and sort out the wireless, me and Mumsnet are moving in. Whenever he moans about his job and threatens to put the house on the market, I point out that he'd have to sell everything in that room (about 5 guitars, 1 bass, 3 amps, 3 ukuleles, 4feet of vinyl, 2miles of CDs and a hifi.)

Weather forecast is 5 degrees warmer tomorrow round these parts so will stay in (again) today. Got to buy a Star Wars cake for DS's 4th birthday tomorrow (LOL would never have let DD watch Star Wars at age 3 but he's so not scared of anything.) Oh and he requested green jelly so it will have to be a big supermarket.

Buckets · 02/02/2009 14:44

And one day I plan to squeeze a piano in there too.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 02/02/2009 14:45

aww pertelote that is cute. I can't remember how to crochet, mind you even when I could I could only go round in circles. Ended up looking like hair bun holders.

Really wish I could knit though. Ann mine also tapers too.

Well at least I can make bears, but like pertelote says who gets the time. Good job I didnt take any more ordes.

Well I have just been out.... Well sun came out so thought would wrap us all up warm, we were all ready, got the pram out of the car set it up got ds in snow suit and dd stood there crying as it started snowing again. (Not seen it before.)
So in we went, took ds layers off, waited, went back out made a mini snowman with dd repeatedly shouting 'knee' 'knee' and 'hot' (as in hands are cold)whilst froze to the spot. Bless. why did I bother. Tis very cold.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 02/02/2009 14:47

x post buckets My dd jelly today for first time she loved it and hrdly lost any, even though she struggled to et it on her spoon.

I don't have much in either. I may have to resort to freezer food (bleeuughgh)

Hello ladies ....
Thought id see how everyone is doing .... got alot of catching up to do I think !!!!

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 02/02/2009 14:51

sazzles I have never heard the term 'eye' teeth sorry. She is cutting the top 2 and bottom 2 either side of the middle 4 iykwim. Are they canines???

Buckets · 02/02/2009 15:06

LOL I've heard the phrase but never worked out what it means.

Hi Foghorn, how's your LO? We had 2 meet-ups in January already!

cyteen · 02/02/2009 15:22

hi foghorn, how's things?

eye teeth, that phrase used to freak me out as a id - made no sense and conjured up some rather disturbing images.

thankfully dinner is saved, DP is getting the essentials on his way home from work so we will be eating curry after all, yay! just as well really, i am quite snug at home and Joe only wants to sleep on my lap. tooth issues here too, and i've lost the dentinox i can actually see the white rim of his top front tooth right under the gum. poor thing, it must be v sore.

no1 i am chuckling at the image of your DD trying to eat jelly

cyteen · 02/02/2009 15:23

as a kid, obviously, not an id

TwilightSurfer · 02/02/2009 16:19

eye teeth, canine as they are also called, are the fang looking teeth, third from the center. my upper ones were removed when i was young to free up space when i had my braces installed. sazzles sorry they are giving dd1 trouble.

thanks for all the kind words. just praying the weather cooperates. from here to where we need to be is under a snow/ice weather advisory.

reese is one unhappy camper today. come on teeth, come on.

Sorry to hear about your dgran ts, thinking of and praying for your family.

No idea what teeth O is cutting - all 20 of them given the noise he is creating. Poor little fella, bright red cheeks, white gums, gnawing on anything that comes close enough. This is all new to me as ds1 luckily had no pains etc cutting his teeth - well, none that we knew of anyway!

Viewings were ok - one says its a definate possibility, the other we're waiting to hear back from. Also got another viewing tonight at 6, plus another one this saturday coming. Pray hard ladies

CaptainCaveman · 02/02/2009 16:57

Tee hee, facebookers check out my new pics I added today

TwilightSurfer · 02/02/2009 17:01

saw those captain. you guys are crazy! thanks. surely one of those viewers is ready to write you a check. this teething thing is all new to me too. dd1 never had problems...she just had teeth TO BITE WITH!

we have over a foot of snow here - lovely being snowed in (especially when you dont need to be anywhere)

dp s work cancelled, also lovely

ts sympathy to you and yours

we did not give ds his formula last night cos we planned it for the last feed which ds usually wakes for between 9.30 and 10.30pm. Ds did not wake up! we went to bed finally at 11.30 and he woke at 11.45pm so I bf him as was too late to faff about. So he slept 7 til 11.45pm!!! Big improvement. Then went on to wake at 1.30 (feed), 4.30 (feed) and 5.30 (wind). All in all, not too horrendous.

Not sure what we're doing tonight, dp keen on the formula route - have looked at other threads in 'sleep' and it seems formula does not always really help sleep at this stage - hmm in a quandry.

Buckets · 02/02/2009 17:34

Arse, Kurt has just thrown up watery sick all over himself, could well be DD's bug. Seems fine in himself though, was just a bit shocked.

CC PMSL.

Here's a survey, since our babies are getting on for 6m now, how would you describe your LO's personality? I'd describe Kurt as quiet and polite.

Back to chat after DCs in bed, just wanted to say I hope you've all had lots of fun in the snow, and please check out my baking efforts on my profile

Back later...

oopsacoconut · 02/02/2009 18:04

Hi Seb

BAck in a bit just putting stew in the oven mmmmm

Steaknife · 02/02/2009 18:57

Hello snowy folks. No snow here today, but probably tomorrow, but it is the Alps so it is kind of required.

For aspiring knitters - try Big Wool patterns by Rowan. It uses giant needles and chunky wool and the patterns range from really easy to nearly easy. I've made a couple of cardis with it and it grows fast so you don't have to be really patient and it is easy to undo if you make mistakes - plus it is super snuggly for winter.

this thread made me laugh today.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 02/02/2009 19:20

Well both dc's fast asleep, what a differnce to last night.
I am now drinking tea,but eyeing up the red wine.

vg so pleased everything went well, and wasn't too stressful at home afterwards.
I bet your boys looked beautiful.

sazzles good look for bed time tonight, but it's lovely to all snuggle up for a daytime nap.

rotter I am impressed, even has a little scarf

I made a little real one outside today, but it has since snowed more, and I can no longer see his eyes, nose and mouth.
sambo It is true in a lot of babies, that Ff does not make them sleep longer. My dd was ff and bf from the begining and she still woke up. (Only once though) for a while.
buckets hope Kurt is ok, and not going to catch the bug .

steakknife thanks for the link re knitting. Off to have a look.

hi seb
oops stew yum...
