Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Sibh don't beat youreself up about it hun. I'm sure she'll be just fine. Didn't realise it could happen that easily.

I'm a bit annoyed. DP phoned after 6 to say he still had some work to do and would then have to go to the pub as a new girl started this week. But he said he'd be back 930 latest. Well he's not answering his phone so is obviously still out. Why say he's coming back as soon as that and then not do it?

Buckets · 23/01/2009 21:01

Oh Sibh I did that to my DD once when she was about 2, swinging her by her hands. She was ok after a while but was doing everything lefthanded, GP was too chocka and it didn't seem to be bothering her enough for A&E. In the end I convinced her to have a nap and when she woke up it was fine - it's a really simple movement to pop it back in (if you know how) so it can happen naturally too.

Ann, oculd it be because it's not 9.30 yet?

rotterpotter · 23/01/2009 21:02

Grrr on your behalf Ann, I hope DP legs it home very soon.

Sibh, phew that DD is fine. They are incredibly resilient aren't they. I remember dropping DD while trying to get her into her bouncy doorway swing thing; she slipped sideways and banged her head on the tiled floor. She screamed blue murder and I was horrified but two minutes later she was all fine again, with no lasting damage (although this does actually explain a lot )

Am having pushchair envy too at your talk. We have a micralite fastfold which I adore but it's not really good for public transport as its wheels are a bit bulky when folded. Got a £30 mothercare one but I hate it, it's really rattly to push. Would love another but can't justify it. Just hope DS doesn't mind having nowhere to sit apart from on my knee on Tuesday. I'd put him on the floor but who knows where he'd end up!

AnnVan · 23/01/2009 21:06

well considering that to get back by 930 he would have had to be on the train by 810 and he is obviously still at the pub as not answering his phone
'It won't be like monday geting home at 1030' Bullshit.

AnnVan · 23/01/2009 21:07

Actually no he was right - he's going to be LATER than 1030

CaptainCaveman · 23/01/2009 21:07

Aww Sibh you poor thing - you and dd. Very easily done too. I thought I had broken ds2's leg when he was about 4 weeks old and I stood on him (accidentally of course!). He didn't half squeal

TS you talk so much sense, you really do. Where you have time to be sensible whilst parenting 2 lo's is beyond me. Well done though, I love you for it.

Albs cracking thread title. I will also be using my Close carrier on tuesday. Like poppy & skybluebelle I have a quinny buzz. Great for out and about but not so great for public transport. Will bring the Inglesina Zippy we had for ds1 - very portable and maneovrable

Feeling down about dsis and her alcoholism. Won't bore you with all my moaning but basically am mad at her coz she refuses to acknowledge the effect her illness is having on her dd .

Sorry to post and run!

Buckets · 23/01/2009 21:14

CC Is she getting any sort of counselling/therapy/AA at all whotnot? ie someone professional/experienced/detached who might be able to bring the mesage home?

I too get buggy envy. I love my Mclaren, it is perfect in every way but for looks and lack of coffecup holder. Would love something with more flair but all the lightweight/smallness/onehandedness/frombirthness/buggyboardability/reliability.

Step away from the slash key Buckets.

WOW DIZZY what a gorgeous new name. Happy Burns night to you!

buckets dsis is currently going through her 3rd detox, this time in the community as an outpatient rather than an inpatient. I had a 'text chat' with her last night, where I spelt it out for her how much her dd is suffering. She never wants to go home, she always begs me to let me stay at our house. She draws me pictures of her with me and dh and our 2 ds's but never with her mummy. When I ask her why she just says "oh mummy isn't there". She is frequently feacally incontinent (often just before we take her back home). When I talked to dsis about it today (I dropped her off at her clinic) she just said dneice is jealous of ds1's Wii, his compute(family pc) and the space we have in the house (a 3 bed semi). Completely cannot see the effect that her alcoholism has on her dd. They live in a small 2 bed house but it is so frigging messy that they have a 1 room existance - they eat, sleep and play in the lounge - which is also so bloody messy you can barely see the floor. Dsis sits and watches tv all day - lapping up shite like Jeremy Kyle. I'm so at her and her disease. She makes my poor dneice suffer but really cannot see anything wrong . Well done if you're still reading!!

weetimerousdizzybeastie · 23/01/2009 21:37

hoots man is a braw brisk moolight nicht tonicht

CaptainCaveman · 23/01/2009 21:38

oopsacoconut · 23/01/2009 21:39

DD and I a fab time shoppinng today. She got some lovely outfits ( 3-6 months is still huge on her poor mite) and I didn't need to break open the piggy bank. I also got some nursery curtains and new towels!

CC {{hugs} to you and Dniece.

Sibh My dad dislocated both my shoulders whilst swinging me around by my arms as a littlie then when he yanked me out of a pew in church weeks later I can still dislocate them when I fancy it! Apparently I have loose ligaments.

weetimerousdizzybeastie · 23/01/2009 21:39

CC!!! back to class, you obviously missed your fluent Scots lesson

and whoever is on breakfast in the morning please make sure its porridge!!

oopsacoconut · 23/01/2009 21:41

Oh Dizzy that reminded me of my nutty Scottish granfather!

weetimerousdizzybeastie · 23/01/2009 21:42

we're not nutty - we're misunderstood!!!

oopsacoconut · 23/01/2009 21:42

Sazzles on my way to HOTMAMAS NOW!

oopsacoconut · 23/01/2009 21:44

No, I think nutty is a perfectly accurate description!

AnnVan · 23/01/2009 21:51

Nutty is good.

Insane is not

The not good one is where I'm headed right now

Don't even have any alcohol so that I can be pissed when the fucker bothers to come home.

cyteen · 23/01/2009 21:51

Did anyone else see that awful thing in Belgium, some mad idiot has run amok in a creche I really, really wish I hadn't read it (although I wish more that it had never happened). Those poor babies Makes me want to rush upstairs and hug DS forever.

weetimerousdizzybeastie · 23/01/2009 21:51
