poppysocks · 26/01/2009 12:01

LOL miamla and CC. £849!!!! Although perhaps I'm too stingey to ensure that my LO is the most comfortable and stylish on the block .

CaptainCaveman · 26/01/2009 12:02

Steaknife I think I'm about to start trying gripe water with Reese. She's a fussy a lot lately....as noted on LOG.

Cool Note: REESE IS STILL ASLEEP! DH put her down around 8:30pm last night. It is 7:30am and she's still snoring. He fed her one last bottle before she fell asleep (he said she took the whole thing)...that means she drank/ate 40oz of formula yesterday. BUT STILL HASN'T POOed.

Miamla....how about a home movie night. Pull out all the stops with chinese takeaway, popcorn, and loads of candies. [disclaimer: i'm very boring]

Miamla · 26/01/2009 12:31

nooooo, it'll be far more stylish than leather patches ;)

albs whilst getting DS to sleep i realised that a new technique i've been doing seems reasonably successful... whilst i'm rocking him to sleep, i hum the same tune every time (not sure why but i chose "bring back my bonnie"). and i continue humming it until i'm out of ear shot ie whilst putting him in cot, i then stand by the cot for a minute or two and then walk away humming
i do seem slightly more successful in settling him in cot so perhaps it is helping. he was in his cot until 1am this morning!! this is a record so far!
ooh and before i forget..what time are you popping round tomorrow? (if that's still the plan) Feel free to text reply but i keep forgetting to text and ask you!

McStadenofKilsyth · 26/01/2009 12:35

Hello everyone. well little man did a 12 hour stretch of sleep. went down 11.30, and stayed down! Only problem was that I couldn't get to sleep.
When I got up he was lying in his cot, wide awake but sucking his thumb.

Right need to take seriously whiffy nappy off the boy

Steaknife · 26/01/2009 12:41

Thanks for the gripe water tip, I did have some dill essential oil for tummy rubs but it has gone astray in the move.
I do do bicycle legs and leg squats with her to help things along, so I will try to remember more often.

alittlebit My boob-bunny is one of those half-blanket-half-animal things. I tuck it in her sleep cosy after feeding and although I don't do the full VG thing she explained the other day I have found the leaning right over as I put the baby down has helped.
Mind you we have a fixed side cot with a low mattress so I am head down with arse in the air, not comfy or elegant but has improved her settling compared to before.

Which is to say she doesn't immediately wake up as soon as touching the mattress.

I have virtual-buggy-envy. Not looking at your links, apart from the leather one naturellment.

Ours is an old chicco one in boring blue, we also have an old bebe comfort that doesn't fold but does have a parent facing pushchair for when lil one is older. I am very about this.

dizzydixies · 26/01/2009 13:32

sibh are you here? am doing a post office run this afternoon before school run and book is all wrapped up ready to go - just waiting on an address

will check back later before I go

McStadenofKilsyth · 26/01/2009 14:32

Hellooooo?

Steaknife · 26/01/2009 14:47

woohoo i'm here, skiving off from french class

McStadenofKilsyth · 26/01/2009 14:57

Skiving Steak?

Steaknife · 26/01/2009 15:07

with permission from DH - I didn't really fancy conjugating verbs on 4 hours sleep.
I did dress me and Izzy today and I think that shows willing at least.

Steaknife · 26/01/2009 15:09

Lil one is playing on the bed with me, she shows no interest in rolling over yet, though is keeping me on constant nappy alert with some tremendous farting.

Steaknife · 26/01/2009 15:11

I've just realised that the Very Hungry Caterpillar should be required reading for BLWers, though they might not like all the goodies he eats on the last but one day.

Lil one is eating her very hungry caterpillar.

Sibh · 26/01/2009 15:18

The big bunny story sounds very plausible VG.
We have an 'in case of disaster' bear in this house too. He was, originally, a dead ringer for DS's Soft Bear, but between love and washes the resemblance got lost. He came out of hiding when Soft Bear got left with the PILs after a weekend away, and he's known either as Back-up Bear or Peru Bear. (His story is that he is a distant cousin of both Soft Bear and Paddington). If anything ever happened to Soft Bear I would be traumatised I think, he has been a fully fledged member of the family for so long.

I think it's Ataraxis who needs the suit. We have a Jasper Conran suit here that looks well on a v. skinny boy and is an age six. There is a red herring shirt that goes with it. I bought it on ebay and it has been worn twice-once by the original owner and once by a rather dashing DS.

Thanks by the way, Dizzy-I've sent the address through.

Ooh, look there's a new emoticon: .

Buckets · 26/01/2009 15:24

VG Have you tried Ebay for bunny replacements? My sis has been through 4 Cheezy Mouse beanie babies with her son (who is now 11!) I'm still trying to get Kurt hooked on muslins, might be in with a chance now he's worked out how to play peepo by himself.

alittlebitshy · 26/01/2009 16:10

why can't i see how to get new emoticon? hmmph
