Your house looks lovely Lisa.

LLL;Ditto Stefkas comment even with the modern art on the walls!Hope you had a fab day in Ripley. ..oh and I was actually suffing with you at the same time as you last night..after being woken by Alex and falling asleep in the spare bed in his room I was woken again by really bad acid reflux at 2.20...milk followed by alka seltzer and antacid tablets eventually calmed it enough for me to sleep until Alex woke me again at 5.30...like you it serves me right for eating chinese and drinking fizz

Inzi - wow well done on the weight loss - that's amazing - keep it up .

FT - glad you enjoyed your chinese meal.

LLL - very impressive artwork there. Sympathies with the early wakings - Anya is getting steadily earlier and has been up at 5:30 the last 2 mornings. Hope you enjoyed Ripley.

DH is fine today - he's 'doing' lots of stuff though, which is his typical male coping technique. It's good - it means we're finally getting our bedroom redecorated - it's the only room we've not done yet - he's been measuring up for new wardrobes and scanning the Ikea catalogue.

Anya had a tangerine after breakfast this morning, which she usually loves, but today she took a segment and waved it at me. Usually that's an invitation for me to pretend to eat her food but today she pushed it quite far into my mouth, followed rapidly by another then another, giggling all the time, until I'd eaten the whole thing. Then she prised my mouth open, inspected it, then grabbed her cup of water and popped the spout in (both of us laughing quite hard by this point).

muppetgirl · 15/03/2009 20:42

WWAJC - So sorry to hear of dh's mothers' death. The finality must be hard for him in that it's a situation that'll never change. Will he go to the funeral?

LLL- at the drawings!!!! So sorry to hear of the return of the early wakings x

Inzi - at the weight lose, fantastic news xxx

Stefka - Has dh's work situation changed so you can reassess your work situation?

Lovely family day, swimming with the boys this morning (henry getting a touch of the screaming in the bath so we took them both swimming and towards the end he did have a little splash) Ollie was told off for messing about in his swimming lesson. His reply to the lady swimming instructor was 'Your hair looks lovely' Methinks he still thinks a cute smile and a flutter of the eylashes still lets him get away with murder.

HOme and spring cleaning the house -we even cleaned behind things! The utility room is so clean (even inside the cupboards) ready so we can put the first phase of our 'let's re do the garden again'. The dogs are going to have a partitioned off bit to do their business and the rest will be scrubbed with bleach disinfectant ready for us to use. Dh has finally realised that 3 boys with no available outside space isn't going to work. (we have a small garden that the dogs use but no one else does)

love to all

xx

Hello lovely ladies...

A bit shocked by lisa's news so not been able to remember most of your posts... i've posted on her thread.

WWAJC grief can paradoxically hit you hardest when there are a lack of feelings like this when someone dies - the guilt and unresolved issues can make it harder to move on even though you rationally expect it to be easier when there is less fond feelings. So sending you and dh big hugs - hope you and he are ok.

Muppet pmsl at you finishing your assignment a week early - I would be likely to mess up deadlines like this too only with me it would be a week late so i would end up being up all night!!!

Inzi congrats on the weight loss!

Stefka i am sure that (I think WAJC) the person who said he is probably fine within minutes of you leaving so is actually coping much better than you is almost certainly right so please try not to worry. I see it often when dropping the boys off - a child who is distraught at their poor mum leaving yet even in the short time it takes to drop ours off they are happily playing, all upset forgotten. They would almost certainly tell you if he was inconsolable - he is probably fine once you are gone. I know too that even though this is clearly what you would wish for that can be hard too as you want to be needed and important to them! It will get easier though - big hugs.xxx

Anyway I am shattered so off to bed now. Its dh's birthday tomorrow so prob won't be on then but will be back soon xxxx Will keep you posted about house too...

muppetgirl · 16/03/2009 10:29

...okay, so Henry is now crawling

Has he read the child development book and thought he has to do all of the stages??!?!? ( as opposed to 'your child may do any of the above...')

We have bum shuffling, rolling and now crawling. He pulls himself up and stands, does not like to move his feet at all so no cruising or 'walking' holding onto mummy's hands. He's still a very happy and mobile child. Just a bit strange!

FloriaTosca · 16/03/2009 13:40

aarrgh!just posted and it seems to have dissappeared into the ether!!!

NC Wow at Shannon dressing herself. I wish Alex would try it...he's very good at doing the exact opposite ...obviously has ambitions to be a naturalist

Well done Inzi ...couldn't do it like that myself, (cant do it any other way either at the moment)I'm in awe!

Happy Birthday to your DH Alice I hope you all have a great time. Fingers crossed for the house too.

wwajc lol at Anya feeding you..Alex was matching his Dad yesterday spoonful forspoonful of porridge like a mirror image.

muppetWoo Hoo Henry! he'll read the next chapter of the book tonight and be running by next week

FloriaTosca · 16/03/2009 20:12

Have I just killed the thread???

muppetgirl · 16/03/2009 21:28

I'm here!!

xx

WhiteWineAndJaffaCakes · 16/03/2009 21:47

Muppet - yes dh will be going to the funeral. Most likely there will only be him, 2 of his brothers (3rd is stuck in France having discovered that all his French papers, passport, etc have expired!), plus I'm guessing 3 of her grandkids. Including other halves I reckon it might just make double figures. How sad and empty does a life have to be for that to be all that turns up for your funeral? DH is a bit stressed and tired but he's coping well with it. The brothers have agreed that later in the year we will all go to the Lake District together to a cottage where they used to go on family holidays - their mum & dad wanted their ashes scattered near there so they'll be doing that (fil died 5 years ago and he was a lovely man) - that will be more of a meaningful thing than this funeral.

Muppet - pmsl at Ollie 'your hair looks lovely'. He'll go far. Henry's just trying to confuse you.

Alice - hope your dh had a good birthday.

Had far too much work to catch up with today after my week off. Tomorrow we're off to Ikea to look at bedroom furniture.

HeinzSight · 17/03/2009 13:36

Hi all, AGAIN... sorry for LOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG absence. I'll read through posts. I'm 19 weeks this week ALREADY v scary. DH was made redundant about 7 weeks ago, so pretty bad timing. It's really tough out there. Oh bum, Niamh's woken up! I'll read through posts tonight. Sorry again

Mine · 17/03/2009 14:41

Hi ladies

I can;t believe how much i have missed.

Alice - i hope the sale goes well. I have my fingers crossed for you. We are currently in the process of doing up ours to put on the market and are looking for the perfect house to move into. i'm so excited about it but petrified at the same time that we won;t be able to sell ours... but i'm sure this time next year it will all be just fine.

WWJC i hope your DH deals with his loss in the best way he can. Its a difficult situation to handle when the person that has died is unlikely to be very missed. We had the same situation with my grandad a few years ago.

DAL - did your AF definitely arrive?? I can;t remember what you said...

I wish we were ready to TTC. I'd love another right now

Inzi - i can;t believe the diet you're on.. 8lb!! thats amazing. Considering i've been on weightwatchers for a millennium and are not getting very far

Muppet - thats great about henry. He sounds so adorable How is the PG going?? do you feel any different the 3rd time around?

LES how is your back??

NC shannon seems to have developed leaps and bounds! Eren wants to be independent in so many ways but like a typical man he can;t quite manage to dress himself!!

I have been busy trying to do some DIY, take care of a clingy little toddler and job hunt. I did well on my test and have been called in for an interview next week. Keep your fingers crossed for me.

TheLadyEvenstar · 17/03/2009 20:19

Mine, My back is MUCH better thankyou! xxx

WhiteWineAndJaffaCakes · 17/03/2009 20:41

Heinz - lovely to hear from you - hope pregnancy is going well. Sorry to hear about your dh redundancy.

Mine - fingers crossed for your interview - hope all goes well.

Have been measuring up bedroom and choosing nice new furniture. Anya loved it in Ikea - we went there as soon as it opened so there were no crowds and she wandered around waving at herself in the wardrobe mirrors.

HeinzSight · 17/03/2009 20:54

I'm doing well thanks, after getting over my initial shock I'm settling into it all quite well. It;s flying by VERY fast which is pretty scary. So far a fairly easy pregnancy, v different from Niamh where I had loads of spotting and scary scans.

I am still endeavouring to try and catch up, you guys are so chatty - brilliant. x

LisaLessLumpy · 18/03/2009 08:49

LES - Glad your back is better
Heinz - Glad you are having an easier pregnancy this time round.
Mine - Good Luck in your interview, and just to empathise with the weight thing, its going crap for me too, despite doing lots of exercise and eating well the weight just isn't shifting

The last two nights Ben has woken up at 11.15ish and has been inconsolable, haven't a clue what's wrong, all I can think of is that he has had a bad dream, its just odd its been the same time two nights running. Good news is he did sleep till 8.30 this morning, it won't last though, also a pity I woke up at 6am

TheLadyEvenstar · 18/03/2009 10:20

Hiya Ladies,

I have been talking to Lisad123s sister and she said now Darren is home flowers are not allowed. But they would appreciate a ready meal hamper if anyone knows where to get one or wants to contribute to one let me know please.

muppetgirl · 18/03/2009 10:27

Hi all!

Heinz - glad this time round is going much better for you. So sorry to hear of dh's redundancy, how's the job hunting going?

Mine - fingers crossed on your interview xx

LLL - grr at the strange sleeping patterns. It's really hard when it's a non-specific thing, much harder to try to fix

Well, I am very well, not huge (wooppeee!) but my back has given up. It was crap with Ollie -got stuck on the stairs quite frequently as I couldn't lift my right leg, also had times where I couldn't even attempt stairs at all.. with Henry it was fine and with this one it's getting quite painful quite early on. Am going to have to go and see the oestopath that I was seeing before Christmas as I'm getting to the point that putting socks on hurts like hell, holding Henry is hurting and even just sitting is really painful. Are wearing those thermal heat things and they are helping but can't really take any painkillers- arrgghhh!

Lots of movements from lo and I have much more enerygy than either of the other 2 pregnancies might be because I have to carry on as I do have the other 2 whereas with when I was expecting Ollie I could sleep much more.

Henry is brilliant fun at the mo, loves Ollie's old blue car -ride on with beeping horn, looks really tatty now but Henry LOVES it!!! Stil crawling/bum shuffling but we did get 2 sideways steps the other day round the coffee table so I think cruising will be next

Loving the sun!! So we've been out the front playing on the green while Henry attacks the bag of summer toys we got out the garage. Really hoping this summer will be brighter to lift everyone's spirits...

xxx

muppetgirl · 18/03/2009 10:31

tles - here

loads here

Dalrymps · 18/03/2009 11:38

Hey ladies,

Sorry i've been awol for a bit, have been reading but not had time to post properly...

WWAJC - Sorry to hear about dh's mum, hope he's feeling ok about the whole thing. It's a strange situation I expect when people weren't that fond of the person who passed.

Lol at Anya feeding you. Dylan likes to feed me bits of chewed up food , or sometimes imaginary food. I prefer the imagninary!

Inzi - You are a strong woman! I think I would cave after 14 hours of no food, never mind 14 weeks !!! Well done on the 8lb loss, wow, wish I could loose that!

You have inspired me however, I can't do an extreme diet cause i'm ttc but have decided to stop eating so much junk and try to be more healthy, hoping it'll have the added bonus of me losing a few lbs too

When's your next weigh in?

Stefka - I agree with the other ladies, you are doing your best for your family. I'm sure Dareh is fine and not as upset as you imagine in your head iyswim. If you're really not happy though you should discuss it with dh to see if there is any compromise you can reach (((hugs)))

Floria - Lol at Alex wanting to be a naturalist

LLL - Ben's 'writings' on the wall are intersting , i'm sure you wern't ammused at the time! Can't wait till Dylan starts doing that

Sorry the sleeping pattern has been all over the place again, hope it settles down soon!

Muppet - Lol at you finishing your assignment early, bet you were glad it was done though! Wow at Henry crawling, he really is doing it all at once! Side stepping too... he'll soon be whizzing round!

Sorry your back is giving you trouble, make sure you look after yourself or else!

Alicet - Hope the house stuff is still gonig to plan. Sorry I missed your dh's birthday, wish him a belated one

Heinz - Hi! Good to hear from you. Wow 19 wks , where did that go? You having your 2nd scan soon? Are you going to find out the sex?

So sorry your dh has been made redundant, everything seems to be going tits up at the moment with the economy etc. Fingers crossed he finds something else soon...

Mine - Yes, my AF arrived, has finshed now so back to trying again, wish me luck! Good luck with the job, what kind of work is it?

Les - Glad your back is better!

Well, as some of you may have seen on fb, i'm full of cold! Not feeling too bad though. Pils are coming round for tea tonight so gonna cook a cottage pie later mmmmm.

Went to see my parents on sunday, we went to a local petting farm, Dylan really enjoyed it and was saying 'baa' at the lambs and 'moo' at the cows and 'pwar pa pa pa' at the chickens . My parents managed to behave themselves for the day but I was glad to be back home as i'm always expecting something untoward!

Dylan has been doing a bit better with his food this week. Since he's been on 2oz less milk his appetite seems to have increased a little, he's also doing better with lumpy foods.

Well, i'm off to make lunch, hi to all i've missed, back again soon

HeinzSight · 18/03/2009 13:11

Muppet, how many weeks are you now? Also sorry to hear about your back problems. I'm keeping EVERYTHING crossed that my SPD doesn't start soon, it started at 16 weeks with Niamh and I was on crutches at the end -eek! Osteopath sounds like a good plan, have heard nothing but good reports about pregnant women being treated.

LLL you have my sympathies with the late nights/early mornings, such a killer. I am NOT looking forward to going back to sleepless nights I can tell you!! I lurve my sleep!

Dalrymps, that petting zoo sounds fab. We're taking the kids to a similar thing at the weekend, it looks like this glorious sunshine is going to continue, yay. I've got my 2nd scan on 1st April, I'm going to try reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally really hard to resist the temptation of finding out the sex! I may cave in at the last minute!

AliceT are you moving house?

Inzi, well done on the weight loss, that's fantastic.

DH is feeling pretty low this week, had two rejections on Monday, only two interviews he's had so far. It's made him realise actually how tough it is out there I'm trying to cheer him up and motivate him but he's finding it v tough. Scary scary scary time. Hope he finds something soon.

Hello to everyone else

OMG inzi she sounds a bit psycho! Poor you. Hopefully if you continue to ignore her she will get the message. As far as playgroup is concerned, are there people you get on close with there? If there are, you can just stick closely to them, if she makes an attempt to talk to you then make an excuse that Jane needs you etc, which at this age, will be a fairly legitimate reason. HTH xx
