LisaLessLumpy · 19/02/2009 07:49

We are all good thanks Heinz, apart from Bens's nappies, 4th day in and still horrid

FloriaTosca · 19/02/2009 09:29

Hi Heinz. Still in shock? How far along are you now?

Alice! What were you shelebrating? Good news about the survey/house decision I hope.

Inzi;your bathroom looks fab..its going to be months before I can show any 'after' shots of ours

LLL I hope Bens tum improves today...Mum says they used to give los with runny tums cheese to help bind them...cheese sauce in particular and of course the flat 7up helps keep them hydrated but I'm sure you know that already.

Dh was due home last night but got stuck at the mill he was working at longer than expected so wouldn't have got home until 2 am and decided it would be best to stop down in Kent and drive back today rather than drive through the night...so yet another night on my own with Alex...at least he is sleeping a little better...just waking at 11pm and 4am for 30mins each on the past 2 nights...and he has 3 new teeth; 1 upper molar and 2 upper front (to at last make up the 4 top front)...so that is 9 in total..all the trouble they cause and we're not even halfway there yet

TheLadyEvenstar · 19/02/2009 09:34

FT wanna swap? Zachary has 9 teeth coming through........ you can imagine the fun that is can't you......

He has gone into his big boys bed and every morning at 4.40 wakes me up tickling my foot saying "Hiya Mummy" and then wanting to get into my bed to go back to sleep...

AliceT you're so funny hope you're feeling OK this morning!!

Floria, I'm 15 weeks today, I think I'm going to be in shock for a few yrs!!

NeedCoffee · 19/02/2009 10:38

hi all!
Alice-lmao, hows your head?
sympathies to those who have ill babies, Shannon has been strange lately, screaming like crazy for no visable reason, not sure if its teeth or what, yesterday i spent an hour cooking veg soup for her dinner and she wouldn't touch it but manage an orange, yoghurt and cranberries and then i made stew for tea and she wouldnt touch that either so she went without, no way am i having a fussy child.

going to Amsterdam tonight with Rich, its for his birthday, i'm HATEnot keen on water so am only going for him. FT-i forgot to answer your question about the ferries that go accrss from Hull, they travel overnight, leave in the evening and arrive in the morning, so not sure if that'd be any good if he does go for the position over there, they haven't been in touch anyway.

oh God, better go, theirs a stench coming from her ladyships bum, hope to get back later xxx

NeedCoffee · 19/02/2009 10:41

oooh Inzi-love the bathroom, agree with Alice, its gorgoejs! but i dont think the old one looked that bad either. The towel rail does look very climeable hehe x

alice t - think your post should be MN quote of the week

NeedCoffee · 19/02/2009 15:33

oh Inzi i get 'more more more more more'...etc she wouldn't eat her dinner today and then attacked me for my creme egg, which i ate very quickly so i could say it was 'all gone' HA! She has been such a pita the last couple of days, keeps having tantrums and hurting herself, no spacial awareness-will through herself against the sharpest, hardest corner available when shes kicking off. Have asked my friend to giver her her tea tonight as i just can't handle the stress, going to board the ferry earlier to have dinner and maybe get a bit possed

still haven't packed, the litle darling wont let me grr

I wish Ben would eat fruit he'll quite happily drink a fruit smoothie but he won't even hold a piece of fruit.

His nappies are a better today, just the one mucky one after his brekkie and nothing since, so it looks like he is on the mend.

I took Sam to the cinema today (his first time) whilst Ben was in nursery, he was hysterical when we first went in that he didn't like the 'big' telly and he was cowering behind the seats, but as soon as it came on and he saw that it was just a bigger version of the telly at home he was fine and pronounced 'I like it!' I think it was my fault though as initially I wanted to watch BOLT (3D) and told Sam that we would have to wear some glasses and the pictures would look like they were jumping out the screen at him, he didn't like that idea so instead we watched Hotel for Dogs, but I think he might have been expecting the same thing? either that or it was just because it was so different and it was quite dark in there, and he doesn't like the dark

Also whilst looking round Next (a big one), Sam ran off and lost where I was, I couldn't find him either, this is the first time this has happened and I must admit I got quite panicked, I was shouting for him when some bloke told me where he was, when I got to him it looked like he had been crying and he was hiding in amongst some rails of clothes. A woman said he had ran into her and fell over but hadn't hurt himself, I think he was just shocked, anyway he held on to my hand very tightly after that. It is a horrible feeling when it happens though even with a child you know doesn't go far away from you.

WhiteWineAndJaffaCakes · 19/02/2009 19:41

Inzi - so glad the bathroom is finished and that Jane is sleeping through (apart from last night). You must feel like a new woman . The new bathroom is gorgeous.

LES - at Zachary out of his bed.

Heinz - hello, how've you been? I take it the pg wasn't planned then ?

Alice - at being possed.

FT - glad Alex is sleeping a bit better - at least you can get a few hours at a stretch.

NC - enjoy Amsterdam. Hope it's worth the ferry crossing.

LLL - glad Ben's better and that Sam enjoyed the cinema in the end. ((hugs)) at losing Sam in the shop - must have been really scary for you.

Anya's almost on the verge of saying words. We get 'ba' for baah (sheep) and 'fff' for woof (dog). She's very good at 'no' - she shakes her head violently with a big grin. So at least she can get her meaning across if I ask enough questions .

alicet · 19/02/2009 20:45

pmsl hadn't even remembered I posted last night until I came on now! Glad I amused you all though!

Had a fab night out with one of my mum mates - we had 2 and a half bottles of wine which would probably have made me possed () even pre babies! Felt pretty rough today but not as bad as I thought I would - nearly vommed at breakfast then marmite on toast did the trick! My mate wasn't so lucky though - she has been sick all day! Luckily her dh is off work to look after her 2!

Needcoffee hope you are having fun in Amsterdam! Hello everyone else!

Exciting news from us is that our offer has been accepted on the new house!!!!!!! Now we just need the survey to be OK on this place - fingers crossed... To superstitious to tell you more at this stage but once we know survey is OK will send a link to the house!

LisaLessLumpy · 20/02/2009 10:32

Well Ben seems to be getting better, only one dirty nappy yesterday, but this morning we were woken with a nasty one. He had obviously done it in the night because it was caked on everywhere, all up his back etc, I am amazed he didn't wake us up crying. I had to put him in the bath in the end because it wouldn't come off poor thing, it is thickening up though at least. (sorry if tmi)

LisaLessLumpy · 20/02/2009 10:34

Ooooh, how exciting alice, I have my fingers crossed everything else works out for you

Stefka · 20/02/2009 12:06

Hello all - I've been reading but not posting - no time!

Had a job interview today which I think went well - they are still interviewing - five of us in total so we shall see.

Love the bathroom inzi!

Alice - that post is classic - made me snort with laughter. Hope it was a good night!

TLES I think that story about Zachery coming into your bed is kind of cute - mind you I might not think so at half four in the morning. Dareh still gets up to feed in the night though so might not make much difference. He's still in his cot but he isn't really walking yet so wouldn't want to move him in to a bed for now.

Glad Ben is better Lisa. Dareh has had some nasty nappies the last few days and it is no fun.

Alice I really hope this is it for you!

How's the teething going Floria? Dareh hasn't had any new teeth for ages. Ah he is awake - my mumsnet time is over!

Stefka · 20/02/2009 13:31

I got the job! It's full time which wasn't my plan but the school is five minutes from the house and it is a permanant contract. Plus they are moving into a new school so brand new facilities.

Dalrymps · 20/02/2009 14:14

Wow Stefka that sooo great, I am so so happy for you! Well done

LisaLessLumpy · 20/02/2009 14:23

Its about time your luck changed, fantastic news well done

Stefka · 20/02/2009 14:37

I will be opening some champagne later on believe me. I have a bottle in the fridge which I always said I would drink when I got a permanant contract some where. I may be poshed later on!

Stefka · 20/02/2009 19:46

Just found out it was six candidates not five - feels nice to be the one chosen for once!

FloriaTosca · 20/02/2009 19:52

Wow Stefka! I'll get possed with you! Congratulations! At last your fortunes have changed, I'm thrilled for you!

WhiteWineAndJaffaCakes · 20/02/2009 20:10

Alice - congrats on house, keeping fingers crossed for survey.

Stefka - that is wonderful news, so happy for you. Enjoy your champagne, you deserve it!

We are getting there slowly with Anya's bathtime. I had her back in her seat tonight and she was happy in that with the water round her ankles, splashing away - she didn't want to come out - so at least her fear of water is gone. She can't bear the bathmat though - she will just tolerate standing on it but her feet are rooted to the spot and as soon as she loses her balance and touches it with her hands or bum that's it, she starts wailing. Not sure what to do - might have to buy a selection of bathmats .

Am looking forward to this weekend. Lunch with friends at Bents tomorrow then off pottery painting with FT & Alex on Monday. Trying to ignore the fact that I've got paperwork to catch up with from work...

Stefka · 20/02/2009 21:15

Sigh - the sister in law has had her say and you can guess how that went!

So I called to tell them and she did say well done and then I got this:

SIL 'I nearly went for a promoted post this week actually but decided not to'/

ME: 'Oh why not - you would have been great'

SIL: 'Well I have decided to put family first. I made a decision to have my family before going for promotion. I would want to be in a promoted post a couple of sessions before taking time off. Like you will want to be in the job a couple of years before you take time off but I want to start for a second baby in August so there isn't too big a gap. '

it went on from there - ffs! Can't that girl ever just be pleased for someone without making some kind of dig? She knows damn well that I want to be at home with Dareh but at the moment I don't feel like I have a choice - it's a permanant contract and given the current financial situation I feel lucky to have got this job.
