Hey all - I am reading all your posts but got no brain power to respond right now. Am tired and a bit down - missing my boy. I keep getting moments in the day when I am teaching/doing crowd control with a bunch of kids who don't give a shit and I think I could be at home with my beautiful boy. Had a bad class today though so that is not helping much. Anyway I am thankful for the work and the money and hopefully it will all get easier soon.

I hate also that I can't exercise. It's really important to me and is probably contributing to me being a bit down as I find it a good mood lifter. There is no time though and DH working at the weekend so can't get to the gym then either.

moan moan moan moan moan!

muppetgirl · 13/02/2009 18:34

Stefka -do you have a 3 wheeler you can jog with? I have one if you'd like it if it will help. I know how much exercise means to me especially as it helps with my mood.

Let me know what you think and I can get pictures of it so you can see if you'd like it
xxx

Stefka · 13/02/2009 18:40

I've heard of people doing that - is it really possible? It's very hilly where I live. I really wish my gym had a creche at the weekend - that would sort me out. They just have it during the week though. I should learn not to panic so much if I can't exercise really, but like you it does help with my mood and I just don't feel good if I can't do at least a bit.

Great news about Henry btw! Well done to the boy!

muppetgirl · 13/02/2009 19:00

yep I did, you get over the feeling silly pretty quickly and just get on with it. Henry thought it was great!

I have 2 3-wheelers (don't ask ) so you're more than welcome to one (don't want any money just think as helping me to get rid of the clutter that is in my garage)

even if it's hilly you can run for a min/walk for a min till you build up...

muppetgirl · 13/02/2009 19:01

soory, that last post sounded so forceful

Really, you're more than welcome to it if you would like it x

TheLadyEvenstar · 13/02/2009 19:35

Muppet, if Stefka doesn't want it, would i be able to make a donation and have it as when we go fishing it would be ideal over the bumpy ground!!!! fishing starts again soon see!

If not I will just keep using one of the 3 prams i have

just a quickie from me lovely ladies as need to go to bed...

Big hugs to inzi and others with lo's who are not sleeping. It is really tough - I remember when Adam went through this a month or so ago and i really agonised about what to do. It's probably just a phase though - he started to settle himself again actually pretty soon after I started to tear my hair out!

Stefka sending you hugs too. You are bound to find the adjustment hard but stick with it - sure it will get better soon. There is a thing called 'pushy mothers' in Newcastle - think its a franchise so there may be one near you - where they do excercise with babies in prams. Even if they don't have one sure muppet's suggestion means you could do yourself? Good luck

About a meetup keep me posted with plans and i will be there if humanly posisble! Would be lovely to meet you all for a night out. Friday nights would be tricky for me though - I don't finish work until after 5 so getting to somewhere Midlands-ish in time for a night out wouldn't be a goer.

We had the survey on our house today so fingers crossed they didn't find anything too terrible! And we're off to see a few houses this weekend - I'll keep you posted!

Woooozle100 · 13/02/2009 22:35

hi all

buffy - good to see you back. I remember you from various pg threads as well as our an one

inzi - sorry its all getting to you a bit. It is really tough innit? J just seems to spend so much time screaming. It makes my teeth itch. He's a full on legs kicking on the floor cos of such devestations like - I won't let him smack the remote control on his sister's head.. I wouldn't let him eat my nachos - well actually the resulting strop was so full on I gave in in a spiteful moment of 'oh burn yr mouth then you horrible little shite' and let him help himself to a jalapeno . Oh lordy. That wasn't pleasant either

Tis worse at night tho. Think you can cope with pretty much anything as long as yr not frazzled, frayed and shattered. Is there anyone who would have Jane overnight? Perhaps you and dh just have a nice night in and catch up on some zzzs?

Re meet up, I work late on fris so sat would deffo be better. Not march either (me birthday then am going to see david byrne)but could do april and will travel.

Y'know whoever said about winning the lottery and paying - I had daydream in the bath where everyone came on different minibuses (I picked up the tab naturally )up and down country to my lovely country mansion. I'd organised a creche(!), staffed by lovely staff from creche dd goes to and we'd all got rooms to sleep in. Haha. I don't even play the friggin lottery

My grandad is not to good. Has had major wobble. Not sure whether its been mini strokes or breakdown. He's in hospital but hopefully will be sorted soon. I hope this gets them both the support they need (nan has altzheimers and he has been looking after her) Very sad really

LES - loved yr posts on toilet thread. And am shocked nc at people having a go at disabled chap for parking in parent and child bay. Sheesh! Oh and boo that the stick never changed.. you do sound quite broody as well with yr talk of yr baby growing up. Hey just think the longer you draw it out the longer you'll have baby for (if that makes any sense!) Can't bear the babydust stuff meself but hope it all works out for you soon

Oh anyway sod babydust - anyone seen they're selling nipple tassels in the pund shop

Right - going to pick up some toys and go to bed. Ni night xxx

Woooozle100 · 13/02/2009 22:37

like kids toys off the floor - er half hearted attempt at a tidy up. Not boasting about them sort of toys

TheLadyEvenstar · 13/02/2009 23:28

Pixie,

Disability is always something i will fight the corner for. I was 5 when my dad became disabled so I knew life without disability for a while before i had years of living with it.

happy valentines ladies!

FloriaTosca · 14/02/2009 13:10

Buffy; great to see you back sorry the girls need the top level meds at the moment... how is life in the new(ish) house?

Inzi; Thanks for starting the conversation about feeling out of control...it is wonderful to know I'm not the only one feeling incapable... I was blaming my advanced age for my exhaustion and beating myself up for even wishing I was ttcing again when I can't cope with the one I have got..and yes, we have the same throwing/dropping food, refusing help, screaming tempers... he has stopped the 'throw myself on the floor screaming' tantrums since they were only met with laughter as a response....I just wish he would sleep though...I could cope better if I only got more than 3 hrs sleep at a stretch. But the good moments make up for it ... yesterday saw him trying to be a frog, first by walking like 'jake the peg' then by crouching down then throwing himself forward flat on his face![rofl]...also he had a hissy fit because he found a pound coin that didn't peel to reveal a chocolate coin!

pixie; you dissappoint me I thought you were trying to encourage us to spice up valentines day!!!!

needcoffee; I want to join a meet up; prob being birthdays 23rd March and 7th april and we have booked one of the devere hotel bargains (£10 per room per night!!!!) for april 12th ..let me know what the consensus of opinion is and I'll try to fit it in.

les;hope the back is improving.. my dr had me on 400mg of ibuprofen followed by 2 paracetamol 3 hrs later (repeat every 3 hrs for as long as necessary)and gentle back excersises.

well..the computer has been recussitated but is running like a bag of spanners...we have decided against as towel radiator in the new wet room as a secondary heat source(we are having under floor heating as primary ) mainly because (as my brother pointed out) Alex will climb it!..and I must go shopping for my god-daughters 18th birthday pressie and a valentines dinner for dh and I... have a lovely day ladies

Oh Inzi thats great, will keep my fingers crossed for you. Oh he only got me the suitcase cos he felt guilty for being a tightass not getting me anything today. So i went for the most expensive one i could find, Ha!

Dalrymps · 14/02/2009 22:01

Hi everyone, sorry, not had time to read and catch up as yet but just wanted to say i'm back from cornwall and had a lovely time.

Off to relax with dh, happy valentines day to all

alicet · 14/02/2009 22:12

Just a quickie from me too!

inzi great news on Jane sleeping!

Dh and I don't do much for valentine's day. Think there isn't really anything romantic about telling your husband you love him because a big marketing extravaganza tells you to. Think its fun when you're single but once coupled up not a big deal. We have a competition to buy the naffest card we can find which is a lot of fun only we both claim to win! The first year we were together (we got together about 5 weeks before valentines day) he was really sceptical when I told him I didn't care about Valentine's day as he had had a string of high maintneance girlfriends before me who would have said something like that then spent the day sulking because 'I know thats what I SAID but you should have KNOWN!'. He was relieved that I had meant what I said!!! We were going to have an M&S carpet picnic except dh has a vomiting bug so we will do that another time...

Tomorrow we are off to see a few houses and after that will have probably seen all variations of houses that are on the market in this estate so should be able to make some decisions...

Stefka · 15/02/2009 17:57

LES you have the pram hon - I would love it but don't think I have no space for it at the moment sadly.

Didn't get anything for valintine's day but that is not unusual. DH is bad at stuff like that. I got him a cd, some chocolate and a card.

Inzi glad you got some sleep!

Dalry cornwall is amazing isn't it! Where were you? Did you see the Minack?

WhiteWineAndJaffaCakes · 15/02/2009 20:02

We had such a scare Friday night. I did a really really stupid thing and left a hot cup of coffee on our low coffee table . I was generally pottering and turned round just in time to see Anya grab it - there was nothing I could do - I couldn't reach her in time and even as I drew breath to scream 'no' she sploshed it onto her bare feet. She then dropped the mug on the floor in surprise and sat down in the coffee that was now all over the floor. I just grabbed her, legged it upstairs and stood her in the bath while I ran cold water onto her legs. She was screaming, I was crying, her feet went bright pink (I later found out from the freezing water, not because they were burning ). DH was outside so it was a few minutes before he came in and found us. I'd stripped her trousers and top off so I could see if she'd splashed it anywhere else (she hadn't) so she started shivering, which made dh think she was going into shock. We took her to our local walk-in clinic and they were great - reception waved us straight through. Anya by that time was fine (I meanwhile was a hysterical mess) - her feet weren't even pink and there was no sign of blistering. They said I'd done exactly the right thing and they put dressings on as a precaution, but we had them taken off yesterday morning and her feet aren't burnt at all. I don't think I slept at all Friday night - still can't believe I'd done something so stupid - it's the kind of thing you swear you'll never do.

Muppet - woohoo Henry pulling himself up.

Mine - glad Eren slept so well the other night. How's it been since?

Stefka - sorry you're missing ds. Hope things get easier for you soon.

Alice - cross fingers for your survey results. How did the house hunting go? Hope your dh feels better.

Pixie - sorry to hear about your grandad.

FT - lol at Alex being a frog.

strawberrylace · 15/02/2009 20:41

hi everyone!
Hope you are all ok. We are just chilling out - DS is asleep in his big boy bed for the second night - so far, so good. Not that he's too big for his cot, but we decided to make his bed and let him get used to it before we had to use it - but he seemed fine in it last night. Wierd to see him looking small in a big bed though!

WWAJC - sounds like you reacted really quickly to Anya's accident, and glad she seems ok now
Inzi - glad Jane has been sleeping well
Floria - hope Alex gives you a good nights sleep - like the pound coin story!
Pixie - sorry to hear about your grandad
Hello to Alice and Muppet and Stefka and Dal and NeedCoffee and Mine and TLES and everyone else!

Off to watch some telly and hopefully go to bed early tonight - was planning to do that yesterday but ended up staying up to watch a film xxx

LisaLessLumpy · 15/02/2009 20:47

Hi all,

WWAJC - OMG that must have been horrible for you, so glad all was ok in the end. A friend of mine did this with a cup of tea, her daughter knocked the cup over her hands and spent a good few weeks in bandages, really doesn't bear thinking about. The good thing is it really will make you think twice about every little thing that could be potentially dangerous.

Last night we went to friends in Wigan, all was going well till midnight when Ben decided to start throwing up He was crying so I picked him up and he then preceded to throw up his tea of lasagne all over my hair top and legs and all over himself [yuck] really grim, especially when you aren't at home, he then spent the rest of the night throwing up and retching so I got absolutely no sleep, which means I am off to bed now He threw up again on the way home in the car but has luckily been ok since and went to bed at 6.15pm

Sorry to not catch up with everyone, will try to tomorrow

Stefka · 16/02/2009 06:56

((((WWAJC))))) Well done for reacting so quickly. I had a near miss the other day too - was out at my old school and had some fruit tea on the desk. Just didn't think about him being able to reach it. Luckily it was cool when he pulled it over.

Sorry to hear about Ben - hope he is on the mend now and that you can get some rest Lisa.
