evening everybody!
You have all been very chatty! I am just on t'internet quickly before going to watch ER in bed - i am tired, but not as tired as some of you seem - sorry that the LOs are being such nightmares at sleeping.
I am tired cos I have a bad cough back again - the same as I had at Xmas - a real dry tickly cough. I have just sat and coughed my way through the last two days of my leadership course - I felt so bad for everyone I had to sit next to!
DS is also insisting on feeding himself with spoons/forks now (he's always done finger foods) - he's not been too bad recently with dropping things on the floor deliberately, mainly cos he knows it gets taken away and he's always too hungry. we do just give him a bit at a time in a bowl/plate, which we keep topping up until he says 'all gone'. We have one of these plastic mats from ikea under his highchair to protect the carpet - its easy to clean and is v thick plastic so you can slide the chair on it and it doesn't ruck up

strawberrylace · 12/02/2009 21:04

x-posted inzi
really feel for you. when olly was like this, we used to take him into our room and chill out with him on the big bed - away from his cot where we were all getting stressed xx

Mine · 12/02/2009 21:15

Inzi - i'm being harsh but i just let Eren cry when he did that today. I'm soooo at the end of my tether with it that i just had to walk away. I feel terrible, but like you we have tried the 'nice' way and it isn;t working.

Not sure what else to suggest except maybe see a baby sleep specialist or whatever they are called... i have seen them referred to on MN many times in the sleep section.

NeedCoffee · 12/02/2009 21:40

Inzi-sorry but i'm with Mine on the leaving her (i'm so evil) Shannon has been doing it too (just a phase) try and leave her to cry herself to sleep(alternatively with DH if its easier, take the dogs for a walk) i had 2 hours of it one night, 1 hour the next night, a few minutes the next night and she went down fine as usual on the 4th. I know it seems as though their heart is breaking(and yours!) but i couldn't cope with the cc, it just seemed to make her worse everytime i was in the room. hope shes calmed down now xx

Hi strawberry-sorry about you being poorly

NeedCoffee · 12/02/2009 22:00

how about here for a night for a met up?

rooms for £19 Crewe looks lovely, although of course its going to be hard for some people to get to. Oh i wish i was rich and could fly us all somewhere!

NeedCoffee · 12/02/2009 22:04

or this one, £19 a room for the 4th Apr? i think its a bit more central-not good with geography. Or the Crewe one is only £10 a night on the £rd which is a fri.

Inzi/FT/Mine - big hugs to you. I can't imagine how awful it is for these poor babies when molars start forcing their way through gums. Hopefully they're all coming through in a short space of time so it will pass soon. Inzi, don't feel bad about giving in to her - she's only expressing her frustration and anger in the only way she knows how - there'll be plenty of time after the teeth come through to get her behaviour sorted out! I think I'm getting away with teething quite mildly - Anya's crabby and a bit clingy but not bad other than that (don't shoot me!) Inzi - the first few times I was out without Anya it felt like I'd left my arm at home. Still feels a bit weird sometimes but it's also a wonderful sense of freedom!

FT - hope your computer can be brought back from the brink.

Hi Buffy!

LES - chiropractor worked for me when I had back problems.

NeedCoffee - lol at chocolate urges - same here

Thanks for replies on other thread. Have followed muppet's suggestions and don't think it'll be too long before she's back to normal. Fingers crossed.

muppetgirl · 13/02/2009 07:44

can do crewe really easily! we have friends in crewe who are due with thier first any day so we'd love an extra visit with them and would of stayed in a hotel anyway...

Inzi/floria/mine -how was last night?

I have news

drum roll please....

Henry just pulled himself up to standing using the window sill!!!!!!!!!!

Shuffled over and pulled himself up

wwoooohhhhhhoooooooo

....ahem
slightly pleased then!!!

LisaLessLumpy · 13/02/2009 09:44

I could do Crewe, only problem is I already have plans on the last two weekends of March and the 11th of April

YAY!! Go Henry, he'll be walking before you know it. Sam was 16 months before he walked.

Mine · 13/02/2009 11:27

well done Henry!!!!!!
Has he been practicing this morning...????

Well, we had a really good night last night.. i think i might have my old baby back! Eren went to bed easily and slept without a peep until.................................... 8am

I really hope this is not a one off. Its the longest he has every slept, and certainly the first time in a 3 weeks he has slept through the night without a single peep.

Inzi - i hope you had a better night. How did it go??

What is everyone doing for valentines day/night??

We are staying in (credit crunch and all that!)
DH is cooking me a lovely meal and we are just going to cuddle up on the sofa and eat ice-cream and Krispy Kream doughnuts................ yum!

LisaLessLumpy · 13/02/2009 12:06

Wow great sleep Mine, I hope you took advantage of it?

On tuesday night Ben slept through and didn't wake up till 9.15 on wednesday morning, which was great because I didn't have to take either of them to nursery that morning He tends to go a few weeks with early wake ups and then does a mega sleep to catch up

I really can't complain about him really, I feel so sorry for those of you that are going through the wringer, BIG HUGS. I just hope Ben doesn't start, just got his high teeth to come through now, until he is two ish when the other doubles will make an appearance.

Regarding Valentines Day, we are off to visit friends in Wigan for the evening for a few drinks and a meal. We don't tend to do anything usually as it is a rip off going out or buying anything

TheLadyEvenstar · 13/02/2009 12:16

Well done Henry!!!!!

Excellent that Eren slept well for you hun!!

I really want to come to the meet up but have to wait until i know what Grant is doing workwise first. He retakes his test on Tuesday so fingers crossed!!!!

we have a major problem with Zachary and bed not sleep but bed, he can pull himself out of his cot now so it is time to take the side off ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHH My baby is growing up too fast! Now i am scared cos i know he is a wanderer and even though we haven't taken the side off i know i will spend the night awake and watching him lol

OP posts:
TheLadyEvenstar · 13/02/2009 12:18

ohhhh i have also just spotted what has been making him grumpy the last few days he has 4 molars, and 4 other teeth all coming through together no wonder he has the grizzles

OP posts:
muppetgirl · 13/02/2009 15:47

I have been tempting Henry with things on the windowsill to get him to try and reach up for them, realise he can't and then pull himself up.

Our living room has the windows that are about 1 1/2 feet off the group (we have safety bars) so he can see the window sill if he stands up.

He shuffled straight over, got to his knees and then finally worked out what the heck his feet were for! Cue much giggling and bouncing (him not me!)

Mine -SOOOOOO glad Eren slept for you last night long may it last >>

TheLadyEvenstar · 13/02/2009 15:49

Cue much giggling and bouncing (him not me!)

yeah right we know it was you!!!!

I am so pleased for you! but i am not giggling or bouncing as my back is too bad lol.

I am really worried about taking the side of Zacharys cot!

OP posts:
muppetgirl · 13/02/2009 15:55

...I am may have giggled a little

(more like wooping round the room jumping for joy!!!!)

I suppose re the side of the cot you'd have to do it some time and face all the climbing out of bed and putting back and climbing out, you're just doing it a little earlier!
You can't have him climbing our and maybe hurting himself especailly doing it all in the dark. Stairgate on the door and move precious things up high or out of the room if your name's Oliver and would climb up anything to get to anything

Let's face it Henry will still be in his growbag in his cot when he's 18!!!!

TheLadyEvenstar · 13/02/2009 16:01

Muppet, I don't know why I am panicking Karl was in a bed at 8 months and it was a full size one cos he had broken through the base of his cot FATTYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY lol. BUT I WANT ZACHARY TO STAY MY BABY FOREVERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

ok silly moment over now.
