Hi Ladies xxx

Today we have been a quite a big soft play area which was huge amounts of fun for me the kids. There were 4 different sections including a sensory one especially for babies and also a volcano to climb and the come down through a tunnel. Can any of you get there next weekend? as we are going back and it would be good for a few of us to meet, it is in Basildon.

On another note, I have been really grumpy and miserable towards Grant and today I eventually told him why. My AF is 13 days late and I have been worried sick that I am pregnant because we are struggling financially atm. He was fine and said well you wanted another didn't you and is there ever a good time?

SOOOO I am waiting a few more days and then will do a test.

Hello everyone
Sorry i have been a bit rubbish about posting - not sure where the time goes

Well - i did manage to get my word document finished for my leadership course, and everyone in teh group was pleased with how it looked, so it was worthwhile swearing over. We are having a big restructure at work so that's quite tense at the moment, but i am so busy that i'm trying not to let it get to me. Spent teh weekend tidying the house cos it was getting on my nerves; also went to a friends birthday lunch, and had another couple of friends round this afternoon. So a lovely weekend.

Muppet - so about barbados - have a great time tho! Hope Henry is ok
LES - good luck with the test...
Inzi - sounds like your grandad is very concerned for you all - hope its the best news possible
NeedCoffee - hmm, hope Shannon is ok

Hello to Mine, Pixie, Floria, Alicet, Dal, Stefka, WWAJC, Crochet and everyone else!

Off to watch The Devil Wears Prada now that DH has finished watching blooming Ice Road Truckers

Woooozle100 · 08/02/2009 23:02

sorry muppet i couldn't see yr pic. dd's excema does weep on her head sometimes. Little alarm bell of impetigo rung when i read yr post though cos up / around nose is just where dh got it before xmas. Haven't seen pics tho so am only guessing based on that. Hope yr gp helps

sorry to hear about yr granddad inzi

not got much time to post cos joel on my lap and needing to be put back in bed. He woke screaming just as I started this

alicet · 09/02/2009 02:04

Hello ladies...

I have such a busy head i just can't sleep - more about that later...

Needcoffee sorry to hear Rich might be moving away. Rubbish. On the plus there are loads of budget flights to Amsterdam so if you have an airport near you maybe it won't be so bad? Amsterdam is beautiful - it's where my Rich proposed after choosing a ring at one of the diamond factories so it has it's pluses!

Stefka sorry I missed your first day - sorry it was stressful but I guess thats to be expected (it took me about 6-8 weeks to settle in after being off) and it DOES get easier

Dal great news on Dylan's weight gain and walking and also that you met your mum again without incident!

Pixiemason sorry to hear about your grandad - hope the scan went OK and that you hear good news soon...

Mine hope you get yo the bottom of Eren's diarrhoea soon and that alls well...

Muppet hope Henry's rash has settled or that at least he is well in himself - small children get rashes at the drop of a hat so in all likelihood it isn't serious but hope you get some answers from your GP. Sounds like it could be eczema (although Sam gets a milder sounding version in the cold - red scaly cheeks and chin with occasional little spot type things) but see what the GP says. Bloody jealous of your holiday too! - have a fab time!

Lisa we have had the whys too since just after Christmas from our Sam! Best plan I have found is to try and get into a circular conversation! Sometimes dh says 'because!' ans they have a few rounds of the why? because! why? because! and then Sam goes 'stop saying that!!!' Quite amusing sometimes but also irritating when I have asked him to do something and he keeps saying 'why?' - although I do my best to explain sometimes its just 'because mummy says so thats why!'

Floria loving the image of Alex trying to 'help' in the bathroom with a hammer

Inzi great news that your grandad has been told he might have up to a year.If his cancer would be operable if he was fit enough for surgery then it will be in it's early stages so all good.

LES DO A TEST!!!!! Sorry that is just my nosiness! And also can't imagine I could go any longer than a couple of days late without wanting to know!

Strawberry hope the restructuring goes in your favour

WELL loads has been happening here since I last posted. Firstly Sam's party on sat at a local soft play place which was fab - its his birthday today and Mum and dad are up so should be fun!

But more excitingly the buyers for our house raised their offer so we could accept. They are cash buyers too so chances for it falling through are much less although it's not sold till it's sold...

Then the even better bit - we had been presuming that we would have to rent and wait for the mortgage market to calm down as despite an interest rate of 1% the best rate we could find was 6% and we wouldn't have afforded the repayments on the house we wanted. But a quick chat to our mortgage company told us that we can take our existing fantastic mortgage deal with us which is a tracker at 1% above the base rate - about as good as it gets at the moment as it means only paying 2%! Then we can make up the difference with a second morgage.

Then the downside - the people buying ours want to move quickly as she is pregnant and they want to get in and settled. One of the reasons they offered is that we said we could move quickly and into rented accommodation if neccessary. But the house we really want isn't finished yet and won't be until June so we're waiting on tenterhooks to speak to them tomorrow to see if we will be able to put our mortgage on hold for a few months while the build is finished. If they can all good and we will offer on the house. If they can't we are faced with a choice of buying a house that is not anywhere near as good (same internal space but funny layout that would be hard to change and north west garden V perfect layout and south west facing garden that isn't very overlooked) or moving into rented accommodation with no realistic hope of buying until the market calms down and who knows if the house we really like will still be available then anyway.

I know in the wider scheme of things this is not a massive deal and we should be very pleased to have sold at all in this market but to get the house of our dreams would be so so exciting!!! I feel sick, my tummy is churning and I have loads of creative solutions to offer the mortgage company / builder running round my head!

Keep your fingers crossed for us and I will keep you posted....

NeedCoffee · 09/02/2009 09:37

Got my fingers firmly crossed for you Alice-any news?

Glad you had a good weekend strawberry.

Pixie-hoped Joel calmed down.

Shannons' just asked for her nappy off so she can have a 'wee wee'.... I bet its so she can crap on my mat again, huh!

FloriaTosca · 09/02/2009 12:39

Alice; fingers firmly crossed for the perfect solution...similar thing happened to sils friends, as it happened sil was struggling at the time (ex stopped paying his share of mortgage), her friends asked to house share for 6 weeks until their new one was ready, it was a squash but it helped sil out financially and their dd was great company for her ds's...everyone was so happy they stayed another 4 wks while they furnished the new place....I hope something equally felicitous happens for you.

Pixie; hope Joel let you get some sleep last night. Alex did the same, 11pm, 12am,2am,4am, 5.30am 6.15 then brought into our bed and slept until 9.10!..."it is a stage it will pass".."it is a stage" etc etc

Strawberry; glad you got the document finished and fingers crossed the restructuring doesnt affect you adversely.

Mine; hope Erens tummy trouble gets sorted soon

Dal; glad the 2nd meeting went well..fab news about Dylans walking and weight gain.

Stefka; hope today goes more smoothly and less stressfully than last week.

Inzi;(((big hugs))))

J20; Well done keeping off the cigs. And Wow at Shannon actually asking to have her nappy removed!!!!Alex is wondeful at using his potty every time I sit him on it ...we haven't had a dirty nappy for weeks, but wet is another matter...he has never asked.

Muppet...

alicet · 09/02/2009 13:28

Well no news from the mortgage company yet and I'm shattered and impatient today as despite having 2 great sleeping children (really feeling for you pixie and floria...) I probably didn't have more than 3 hours myself! We have spoken to our financial advisor though and he says usually it is 3 months between so touch wood that will be enough... i'll let you know when I hear anything and also send you a link so you can see the house - too superstitious to send until all sorted though!!!

Needcoffee very impressed with shannon asking for a wee wee! Adam has sat on the potty (fully clothed though but hey its a start!) 2 or 3 times - think he's just copying sam and not convinced he has any idea what its for!

Anyway dh has just got in so going to see if he has heard anything...

TheLadyEvenstar · 09/02/2009 14:28

I am doing a test wednesday can i ask everyone to not say anything on FB until afterwards pleaseeeeeeeeeeee as there are people who will be P'eed off if they weren't the first to know lol and also grants other son is on there and we don't want him to go repeating things to the dragon his mum.

OP posts:
muppetgirl · 09/02/2009 18:02

Have noticed I've not replied to people, I will!!!

Just have to tell you about Henry before I go out to study

The Dr said it was impetigo with exzema and that it could be the start of exzema or it could be the impetigo irritaed the skin casuing a bit of exzema. We'll just have to wait and see.

He spat the oral Ab's out (TOAD) and didn't like having 2 types of cream rubbed on him but we still have the problem of him fighting me when I try to wipe his nose.

got to go
xxx

Stefka · 09/02/2009 21:22

Hey guys just to say I am thinking of you all and sorry no time to post properly. Will try to catch up asap. Hope all is well with everyone.

muppetgirl · 10/02/2009 07:34

Just got the AB's in Henry by putting him on his back, holding his hands and syringing it down the side of his mouth! THe creaming was easier and I would say that on one side it is better, no change on the other really angry side.

He woke a couple of times and I think it is itching that is annoying him

SNow here (again) but dh is trucking off of to london on the train. His team leader left at work and there was a dap so I said why don;t you cheekily ask if you could take over? He did in a very humble way and was asked if he wanted the job...

He would get more money when his contract is due for renewal but I am of the 'at least you've got a job so lte's not push it' camp. He's very chuffed as it will look good on his cv and he really wants to stay at Nomura as he's really enjoying it.

So he starts today!

Has to be in on time (he's crap in the mornings) so we all got up with him at 6.30am and I think will do everyday. (Henry still in bed till 7am)

Was going to take Hnery to soft play but can't becasue of the impetigo so we're stuck at home.

TheLadyEvenstar · 10/02/2009 10:57

YAWNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN YAWNNNNNNNNNNNNN after the very first proper sleepless night I can say I don't envy you who have sleepless night regularly
i am not pg

OP posts:
FloriaTosca · 10/02/2009 12:43

Mupet; I'm glad Henrys skin looks a bit better ...I know how hard giving them medication can be, I do sympathise ...Alex has yet another 'teething' style cold (red ears & cheeks, streaming nose, infected eyes, diarrhoea) trying to get him to take some calpol and let me wash his eyes with boiled water and cotton wool, you would think I was trying to commit murder!

Alice;fingers still crossed for you [hopeful emoticon]

Les;sorry. It is always such a dissapointment...especially when so late Still, practise makes perfect as my Dh used to say

He has woken from his nap ...better go

WhiteWineAndJaffaCakes · 10/02/2009 17:51

Inzi - sorry about your grandad. You never know he may have longer than that - people keep going for years sometimes.

Muppet - enjoy Barbados - sounds fab. Hope the ab's get to work quickly on Henry.

NeedCoffee - well done with not smoking. Are the cravings wearing off yet?

Strawberry - glad your document went down well.

Alice - great news on the house buyers. fingers crossed that everything goes smoothly and you get the house you want.

LES - better luck next time!

Can anybody help with this? DH is bemused as to why she's suddenly scared of water - am too much of a coward to admit that I nearly drowned her!

NeedCoffee · 10/02/2009 20:52

Muppet-great news about DHs job
WWAJC-have replied on thread, do you think you're going to make the meet up??
LES- about you not being pg, but you wont get no sympathy here for having 1 nights broken sleep!!! HUH!!!

Hi to everyone i've missed, college day so pretty tired, Rich hasn't heard anytnig about the Amsterdam job yet, HA, he's stuck with us for a bit longer
When i picked Shannon up from nursery today, she ran right accross the room to me, she was so happy to see me, i nearly cried

I don't know if any of you ever use a cash back site, i felt a bit daunted by them-but have found this Basically you just go through it whenver you use a website, like Boots, Tesco etc and you get a percentage or so much cash back, have yet to see if it works though.
Right, off to search for car insurance,

muppetgirl · 11/02/2009 10:08

Hi all

Needcoffee - how's the amsterdam plans going? A real shame if he goes as you and he seem so happy tohether
We use the kidstart cash back website. It's just for online stuff and we use it for large purchases.

Inzi - so sad for you about your grandad maybe think of a few things you'd like to do with him with the time you all have left.

Alice - am really hoping that you can get the house/mortgage sorted. I can homnestly say I buying a house is one of the most stressful (short term) things you can do. I remember us trying to complete in 28 days as was the conditions and it was a nightmare -fingers crossed xxxxxx

Well, it's amazing what you count as an achievement once you've had children...
I went to the dentists with the two boys and was dreading the bit where I had to sit in the char in case all hell broke loose! They were very good though and Ollie was fab helping to keep Henry entertained. Henry now hates sitting in his pushchair when he wants to get out and about!

Going to tidy today and start washing for going away. Henry's skin looks much better and the scab on his nosw from the spot came off yesterday so he just has a red mark. The bits on his leg are still red and I am thinking the exzema is maybe here to stay but the impetigo is going so that's great.
xx

Oh Inzi
It will get better I promise. Ollie was the same and we felt every tooth he cut, it is total Hell and the thrashing and kicking is really hard to take because you want to help them but they can't understand...

Can anyone take Jane so you can get a few hours sleep? I would abandon all housework and just try to sleep whenever you can.

...just trying to think what we did with Ollie...I had pnd by then and he was soooo angry whenever we tried to cuddle him so (I hate to say this now) we just left him after giving him calpol. He did go to sleep and it wasn't hours of crying but I just couldn't bear him (I am a total cow but I hope you understand) being so upset and also that I had failed to help him. (I know I didn't fail him but at the time it really felt like it and I thought it was yet more evidence about how abnormal I was, -'ain't the mind great??)

xxx

FloriaTosca · 11/02/2009 21:50

inzi;if it is any consolation we are suffering in exactly the same way..alex has exactly the same symptoms that he had last month (runny nose/infected eyes/red ears sore throat) and is behaving just like Jane...won't eat just keeps giving me the sign for milk and screaming "yessss". Last ight after a day without a proper nap he crashed at 7.30 but had me back in bfing him and trying to calm the hysteria 5 times before Dh phoned at 11.30! The rest of the night didnt go much better either...I have had to swaddle him to apply his eye drops, force the calpol down, buy a calpol plug in vaporiser for his stuffy nose and pray for more than 40 mins sleep in a stretch ...you are not alone.

muppet; sorry forgot to say congrats to your dh on the promotion... I understand him not pushing for a raise in the current climate...my Dhs head office in Germany have given all thir employees a 20% pay cut (one section have even had a 60% cut!!!) fortunately the UK branch are not affected but they have been warned not to even mention raises or bonuses!...Have a glass of Schloer in celebration .... oh and you were not a cow with ollie as you now understand..crikey it is Bl**y hard with balanced brain chemicals...how you managed with pnd too I cannot imagine...[FT salutes in awe]

Please excuse me if I'm not around too much over the next week or two...my laptop got the screen of death ...it is currently on life support with fear that it might be terminal (not good...I have all my important documents on there and haven't backed it up[worried emoticon]) and the other computer is at the other end of the house...too far from Alexs toys and (the TV)for me to get on here for very long ...fingers crossed dh and the IT bloke at work can revive the portable one

hope to be back soon

alicet · 11/02/2009 22:50

Hello ladies...

WWAJC have replied on other thread...

Muppet great news on dh's job and also that Henry's skin seems to be improving.

Floria hope your computer gets successfully resuscitated!

Can't remember anything else sorry! Well the surveyor is coming here on friday and we are in the process of offering on a lovely new build in the estate we want to live. Just who will crack first on price really... We are also looking at a few other options in same place in case it doesn't come off. I'll keep you posted!

oh Inzi... i can hear myself in some of what you say so please don;t feel as though you are alone or this is just Jane playing up. It may be something that they are all going to go through at some point or another. Eren has been playing up at night for us too which he usually doesn't do.

DH works shifts so its really important he gets a good nights sleep, but with Eren;s incessant crying every 2 hours from 10pm... oh to around 5am, its driving us both to the brink. Last night was the final straw and i am not ashamed to say that i just let him cry and cry and cry in to hysterics after which point he ran out of juice and conked out until around 7am.

I didn't feel bad at all, as i felt that he was in control and i should have been the one in control. So don;t feel bad at all. They have short memories sometimes so its not going to scare her for life if you feel you have to be firm every now and again. Well thats how i see it.

Maybe Jane is just trying to push all your buttons to see what she can get away with and find her boundaries.... not sure what to suggest as you seem to have dome everything i would have done.... I'm really sorry you are going through this.

I knew parenting would be hard, but i just completely underestimated just how hard it was going to be IYKWIM... does that sound stupid and naive....

Muppet - great news on DH new job, Hopefully it will lead to a permanent post.

Alicet - fingers crossed for the new house. We are starting to do minor refurbs at the mo with the view of selling and buying in the next months.

J20 - sorry to hear about R possibly moving away. Hopefully he'll stay...

Bugger... i have forgotten the rest.. i should really write things down
