Nah, I have a high tolerance for pain.

MrsJoeMcIntyre · 23/01/2009 14:42

TMAM - I have emailed you.

Themasterandmargaritas · 23/01/2009 15:55

Pink, I think I love you.

Apart from the fact that you are already married to A MAN, and I am obviously as old as the hills, will you marry me?

When I started, it was Liverpool Poly ffs.

MrsJoeMcIntyre · 23/01/2009 16:03

Absolutely. I assume the diamond is in the post? Aces.

No probs at all.

Themasterandmargaritas · 23/01/2009 16:31

As a scally Liverpool lass, you'll be happy with a cubic zirconia.

MmeJaffaB · 23/01/2009 22:40

Evening all, thanks again for all the well wishes. Have spoken to FIL tonight and got some more info on A's condition. I have done a little research and am feeling a little better. She has a neuroblastoma, the most common form of childhood cancer, it is not unusual to go un-noticed until stage 4 and although at 7 she is quite old for it it is reassuring to read that chidren generally respond well to treatment and cope much better with it than most adults. She did well with her first session today but was asleep through FIl's visit this evening. she will be moved back to a local hospital next week and will be allowed home and to school if she feels she wants to.

Done the crying, done the scary bit, time to be positive and to fight now!

TYG...............back to the bottle for you!

Oh and Nim, can I have an imaginary summary please? (only the nice bits though).

Can I have a job too?......anyone

Sorry for being so sad..... I'm Ok now

MrsJoeMcIntyre · 24/01/2009 08:22

Mrs JB - good to hear from you, let's all send your amazing niece positive vibes. Much love to you.

TYG - thank god. I was worried I'd have to be tee total at CP!

L is not well, had to cancel the bloody jab again. Trauma.

SKYTVADDICT · 24/01/2009 08:41

Oh no, poor L (and you of course). Is she having individual ones?

DD1 is having her first cervical cancer one on Monday. Baby fuzz brain can't remember its proper name. She is stressing!

PJ - are you at work Monday if I email app form etc to you? Worked on it til nearly 12 last nite but still not finished. It is in Word and I only have Works so have had to tweak it a lot!

HaggisGaloreInMyWellies · 24/01/2009 08:43

MrsJB positive thoughts all the way.

TheGreatScootini · 24/01/2009 10:23

Love to you and your neice Mrs JB..

The Levellers arent anti establishment anymore. The lead singer lives in a mansion next door to sodding Billy Bragg.

I hope you used some kind of anti septic Nim?

Whats the job Sky?

I hear the Whittington maternity unit is very nice now its the new building Elkie..am sure it will all go swimmingly this time.

Whats up with L Mrs Joe?

Well it seems neither of my girls sleep now.I was up at 11 with M, 2am with L, 4 am with M and 6.30 am with both.I dont think it was this bad when I had a newborn. Both of them are in a total grump.DH has just rung whining that he will be knackered after stripping wall paper all day today and its no way to spend a weekend blah blah. What nonsense.I know where id rather be!Plus he has his two mates coming over to help. They will no doubt down tools at 6 and start drinking.Meanwhile I am at my Mums with two grumpy kids and no Sky.(Its like the dark ages)

I have a friend coming over today from Manchester.I havent seen her in ages.I do want to see her but she is a)not very child friendly b)I am knackered and cant be bothered with the effort.I will have to think of something for us and the kids to do which will suit all.God knows...

We have finally set the date for the girls christening.DH sent me his proposed list of invitees. It had 80 people on it.Since he will be exam bound until a week before I assume he is expecting me to execute the planning of the party etc.I have returned his list with instructions to whittle it slightly.(ie take at least half of his barmy family off it)I beg of you.

Must go.M has woken from her nap (which lasted exactly 24 minutes)What is with these kids?!

NimChimpsky · 24/01/2009 10:32

MrsJB, I really do hope that there is a positive outcome to your dn's treatment. I know very little about neuroblastoma, apart from the basics. It makes sense that the information is coming through bit by bit though as it presents with such different symptoms/locations/implications. The good thing with such common childhood cancers is that they are much better at tailoring treatment to fight them, down to their knowledge of the composition of the tumours and what will defeat them. The survival rates, I believe, are increasing all the time. She has youth and a determined positive family on her side and I hope, I truly do, that this will make the difference. Please talk to us as much as you like about it. Don't worry about being maudlin, better on here sometimes than chanelling it into your day to day lives. I lay awake for a long time last night thinking about you and your dn.

I'll try to write how I imagine you later, no negative bits as there clearly aren't any.

MmeJaffaB · 24/01/2009 11:59

Thank you Nim, thats really helpful, one of the most worrying things I think apart from the obvious is that 7 is quite old for this. I keep reading that most Neuroblastomas are picked up before a child is 5, it also appears that the younger the child/infant the better chances of a complete recovery. We are comforted by the fact that they seem to have a fair bit of knowledge on this child hood cancer and surely that must mean they know the best ways to fight it. Sadly she now becomes a statistic...

I am trying to convince dh to ring his brother, I know his brother would love him to give him a call, they are not close, never have been but I know his bro thinks alot of A. His Dad has often told me that he wishes the boys spoke more often and that A's brother would like that too. A doesn't pick up the phone easily, communication in any form is not his strong point. I know that if it were us in this situation we would be very greatful for a call.

Ohhh I assure you there are plenty, but I'm still interested to know what picture you have in your head.

MmeJaffaB · 24/01/2009 12:02

Oh and thanks but please don't loose any sleep over us, in heart of heart reality as much as we'd all like to, sadly we can't change whats happening..

TheGreatScootini · 24/01/2009 21:11

or maybe DH could write-a proper letter not an email..if he's finding it hard to talk on the phone...my brother wrote to me when I had my first mc and that was better than an phone call as we dont speak that much and it would've been awkward and odd if he'd rung.It was a comfort to me to have that kind of contact with him though and actually bought us closer.

thinking of you and your neice.

NimChimpsky · 24/01/2009 22:18

My Dad wrote me a beautiful letter after I had dd. He's not one for words or demonstrations but he said some touching and wonderful things about me and M in that letter. It's one of my most prized possessions.

Good idea le scoot.

elkiedee · 24/01/2009 22:36

Sorry to see on another thread MJM about your baby photos disappearing. Must check dp has all ours on his laptop, we have quite a lot of them in various places but I'd like to be sure. Hope some of the suggestions you're getting work.

NimChimpsky · 24/01/2009 22:40

I partied with the Levs once. They smoke a lot of weed. Allegedly. I mean, they might have been forrin cigarettes. Actually yes, that's what it was.

Alright, I'll turn off the Levellers (and B Bragg as I was listening to him this morning too) and play Chumbawamba instead.

elkie, how you feeling m'dear?

MrsJoe, what's happened??

OP posts:
HaggisGaloreInMyWellies · 24/01/2009 22:47

Lordy whats happened to us all nattering away on various threads on a Saturday night. Where did our social lives go? Oh I know not easy to party when you have a baby strapped to your boobs. The boy has been feeding non stop since about 2 this arvo. my nipples will quite literally fall off soon.

NimChimpsky · 24/01/2009 22:58

I'm in my pyjamas, eating chocolate and cursing the fact that dh is working all night again. It's pathetic! We're going swimming at 9am tomorrow whether he's awake or not. He needs to drive us.

Bugger about the feeding. Draining isn't it? I'm trying to ignore the canine teething/biting going on but my poor ol' nipples are not coping.

OP posts:
SKYTVADDICT · 25/01/2009 07:13

Morning all

Great idea about the letter Scoot. I really feel for you with "if its not one its the other" keeping you awake! We have had exactly the same for what seems likes weeks now. I am again up too early with L who has fed twice in the nighr as well but luckily C has decided to sleep through and is still asleep.

The job is an Administrator with Barnardos Lincolnshire Leaving Care Service, I believe there is also another Administrator job for the Junior Youth Prevention Programme. Just about finished the application form but have been struggling as I only have Works and not Word and the formatting has been tricky. I am pretty sure I won't be able to email it as requested and will have to ring for an address tomorrow.

JW and Nim - I also have very sore nippless at the moment! Think L is either teething or just having a growth spurt.

twelveyeargap · 25/01/2009 08:56

SKY, if you want to email me the works document, I will convert it to word and reformat for you if you like. Email me on twelveyeargap at yahoo dot co dot uk. I can email it back as an attachment so you can just forward.

If anyone wants to buy MS Office packages and you have children in school or college, you can buy it REALLY cheaply from www.software4students.co.uk. From £35 for the most basic package. I've used them. It's all genuine. You have to give your child's name and school in order to get it.

twelveyeargap · 25/01/2009 08:57

I could also scan a copy of what I do, so you can double check it before you send it off.

SKYTVADDICT · 25/01/2009 09:24

Thats brill TYG - I will do that later today thanks.

The job spec etc says in bold to email it so I didn't want to get off to a bad start although as I said to DP just a bit ago, not everyone has access to facilities to apply like that anyway.

Will get on with finishing it!
