Hi - welcome to the new thread!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Hopefully · 14/01/2009 21:05

It's alright, I didn't get round to starting one!

ninja · 14/01/2009 21:07

Sorry - I'd gone back to Starlight's title (as usual) as there had been a few votes for it. I did like the growth spurt one though.

Keep your fingers crossed for me for 2 good nights sleep for her (and one for me or is that too much to ask?)

Hello, just accidentally stole the last post on the previous thread but the link works perfectly so I'm sure everyone will make it over here.
Just catching up on sunday's dancing on ice. I miss strictly!

jenpet · 14/01/2009 21:15

Just posting to get on the "threads I'm on", how fortunate that Celebrity Big Brother coincides with this last feed night everyone x

I miss Strictly too!

Contemplating an exercise class tomorrow to help begin to shift the baby weight. Class is called Boogie Mamas, which sounds insufferably twee, but hope it will be ok.

New thread! New thread!

Very exciting day today, A and I went to Mini-Mozart. Tis a class run by a woman who plays the violin and clarinet, tells a story, uses bubbles and a parachute at the end.

A decided not to nap this morning, so by the time we got there he was verging on grumpy. I think he liked it, but it was very full-on and he cried everytime it got too noisy. He also missed the bubbles as he was having a very sleepy feed. Slept as soon as I put him in the pushchair and woke up in time for lunch when we stopped in a cafe. Am feeling very mum-about-town at the moment: eating sandwhiches and drinking lattes whilst simultaneously bouncing baby on knee and dangling toy for him to play with. I also changed a poo-ey nappy on a bench as cafe had no change facilities. I am unstoppable.

My hair's been falling out for the last two months. Keep finding it in A's mouth.

After bathtime tonight I fed A as normal. Although he got distracted by a conversation I was having with DH. He kept trying to touch my mouth, wondered if it was to shut it up! I stood him on my lap and he then spent about 5 minutes playing with my mouth and chin as though he'd just realised I had a mouth. I love it when he discovers something new!!

Ante-natal clubs: Due Sept 08 : We want symptoms (and we don't want any symptons)!

SunflowerNeedsSunshine · 14/01/2009 21:37

Hopefully, we have s.thing similar at our hospital too, but it'd cost me a fortune on parking... I'm trying with the wii first for a couple of weeks, otherwise I'll get a dvd - got til 5th April to have some sort of shape and get into s.thing decent... miss strictly too...

Hopefully · 14/01/2009 21:53

Ha, just seen a post on that thread on which I am planning a hospital birth so I can have the drugs. Managed the hospital bit, but why oh why didn't I have drugs?!? Also one where you hoped you would have a girl, starlight!

digitalgirl · 14/01/2009 21:55

Hopefully I am STILL wearing my maternity clothes! Have just posted asking for recommendations on a pilates DVD. Tried to go to a local class, but after the free trial the class seemed to be fully booked every week. Have been doing sit-ups and lunges in the morning, and have bought a running bra in the vain hope of attempting to go out for a run!

Just remembered - yesterday was my BFP anniversary! Remember seeing that second line at 6 in the morning and telling DH to get up and have a look, was very similar feeling to when my waters broke.

BabyStarlightsMum · 14/01/2009 21:56

It's funny looking at those old threads. Even though I'd already had one, I feel a lot more grown up now. I feel like I was a mere teenager on those threads.

lollipopmother · 14/01/2009 22:42

Debs75 - I would go for a wetsuit with arms. At the moment my DD wears one with arms by Splashabout underneath the wrap type one you showed! PFB much! It does make a difference though, if the baby is cold they won't enjoy it and Water Babies is very short and sharp there's no time for recovery between each exercise so it's best to reduce the chances of crying at the start because otherwise you can lose your whole lesson!

lollipopmother · 14/01/2009 22:45

Oh, DD is 4 months tomorrow She nearly rolled over today but not quite, she only ever tries when she hasn't got a nappy on, don't know if it's because the reusables are too bulky??

I've been slowly losing weight for ages, I even managed to lose an lb over Xmas. I'm lower than pre-pg weight but then that's because I was massively over my normal weight when we started trying. I'd like to lose another stone, but I'd be happy with another half stone for now.

I've been feeling really glum these last few days, no idea why which just makes me feel more glum tbh. I just feel so blaaah, can't describe it really.

plusonemore · 14/01/2009 22:53

well got the calpol plug in vapouriser (before i saw your lovely suggestions about oil on cloths etc) and it smells gorgeous. Also have propped up mattress with pillow underneath it. Have just got back from netball and he is still asleep!!!!!!! Longest he has slept at this time in aaaaaaaages. Used to wake him at 11 if he hadnt woken but just gonna leave it. It may well be a one off because of the manipulation today but I can feel the tension slipping away and hope returning. Thanks again for all your helpful words

eandz · 15/01/2009 01:27

here!

so i never got to answer what i was doing a year ago... i was in las vegas for a month partying as hard as i could to make up for lost time....thinking about how great it was to be young, done with everything necessary and just be able to do anything and be anywhere.

it was a great 4 weeks. until the shoulder pain kicked in...did anyone else have a surprise pregnancy or a really strange symptom and wouldn't have guessed in a million years the cause was pregnancy?

plusonemore · 15/01/2009 08:38

morning
bit better night, woke at 11pm, 3am, 5.45. Can cope with that! Gonna take him back to the docs today as well to get his chest listened to and ears checked just incase. He sounds less bunged up this morning but still rattly.

Like the sound of the mini-mozart class!

Hopefully · 15/01/2009 09:25

Grrrr... T was mostly brilliant last night, but he has taken to waking at 5:30-6am, no matter what time he has his middle of the night feed. If he has the night feed at 2:45am, he wakes at 5:45, last night he had his night feed at 4am, and woke at 5:30! There's just no settling him without a feed though, so I ended up feeding him again at 5:45, which seems ridiculous when he happily goes 3 hours between feeds during the day. I wonder if it's that my milk supply has increased, and yet we haven't increased the volume of the formula feed, so he's actually going longer from a breastfeed than from his one formula feed. Didn't want to increase it, but if he doesn't start going a bit longer in the next couple of nights I might have to.
On the plus side, he wasn't nearly so windy last night.

SunflowerNeedsSunshine · 15/01/2009 09:38

BabySun had bad night, but I guess it's just beacuse of the jabs. fist jabs didn't really affect her, the second just a bit tired, but this time it's been the worse, crying and nothing would settle her, she woke up at 10.30pm, and she had temp so tried to give her some calpol (though I'm sure most of it came out) adn only thing that calmed her down was tv! took her to bed with me, but it took ages of crying and complaining before she got to sleep again... though this morning she's all smiles again.

to all the co-sleepers out there - what do you dress the LOs in for the night?

ninja · 15/01/2009 10:35

Hopefully - your prolactin levels are higher in the night and your milk just tastes sooooo good!! I know what you mean though, I end up thinking that too.

we were every 3 hours last night, but dd1 wet the bed AGAIN and she she came in with me half way between feeds and ended up licking me the rest of the night!

Meglet · 15/01/2009 11:27

hi . i'm back again! I'm on my dads pc as ex P has still got the laptop. I've not time to read everthing as everyone talks so much.

my bad news is that ex P dumped by via facebook (changed his status to single) . How awful is that?! what an asshole. He hasn't even had the balls to speak to me face to face.

But my good news is that DD slept from 11 til 7am last night, bliss! She has her last jabs this afternoon, she's been ok with the others so I hope she doesn't get poorly this time.

I should be back next week as I'm getting my sisters old pc. My house will go back to being messy again . miss you all lots, hope everyone is doing ok.

SunflowerNeedsSunshine · 15/01/2009 11:50

OMG at exP, meglet!!! hope DD is ok today!

eandz · 15/01/2009 11:58

Sunflower
re: co sleeping night wear

i dress noah in a long sleeved onesie (it's the vest with long sleeves) and then secure him in his growbag.

meglet
how awful! but you seen mighty positive and up beat on a whole. i hope your daughter has a great jab experience, i took noah in yesterday afternoon for his. he cried for a few minutes but went back to his normal self soon after. i hope it goes even better for you and your dd. will be awaiting your return.

BabyStarlightsMum · 15/01/2009 12:21

Meglet I am at your xp. Tough as it might be for you in the short term, it really does sound like long term you're better off without him. 2 children are tough (I have the exact same as you remember) and I know that life would be tougher without my DH, but it sounds like your xp was a hinderance not a help.

Do you have other help occassionally, - from your family? I mean, if it all got too much one day is there someone that you could call to come over for a couple of hours?
