How exciting, we can have a FML trip to see the PSB!!

I had a 15 yr old patient the other day who told me she liked 'Grime' and I embarassed myself by saying "is that a band or a style of music?"... cue much snorting from her and her 13 yr old brother , who then said "she likes NDUBZ too", and I was so excited cos I has heard of them!!

HM glad you've had a good few days.

Feeling pleased with myself as I have just got the remaining 4 charlie and lola DVDs on ebay that DD1 needs to complete her collection.

Lovely sunny day here and washing drying on the line . DH and DD1 have just done their 'Saturday baking' and made biscuits...yummy!

fuzzy I did LOL at your last post about your DH....how very true!!

Another vote for 'who or what is Grime?'

There again, I've never heard of Elbow either and they won some award at the Brits!!!!

We have been swimming this morning and are off to see Man U play this afternoon

it's lovely and sunny here too!

Hope everyone is having lovely Saturdays.

(I had to ask her) Grime is a style of music....I'm guessing what I used to know as grunge (in the 90's) or heavy metal (in the 80's). I think they just re-name it to make older folks feel un-cool cos they don't know what it is!!

LOL Fuzzy at Davina!!! I try and do it twice a week and I always do the aerobics (which I love though it is hard work) and then the legs one. I can't do much upper bosy at the moment as it flares my shoulder up. I would love to try the other ones but haven't dared yet.

DH has just informed me (proudly) that he has invited in laws over for lunch tomorrow. The plan was that he would take the girls there so that I could go to the gym work onmy presentation. Doh!!!

shonnomanom · 21/02/2009 18:33

HeyI think Wannabe was also my first cassette! Iv just turned 25 and cant seem to find the tight arse and pert breats. (stil looking :O )
Re the young mum Baiyu, IKWYM, everyone around me thats had/having babies are all in their 30s. I felt like a teenmum at antenatal classes and when I was in having Hannah.

Dp's sister is due on tuesday (pancake day! yummy), that will be Hannah a big cousin for the 2nd time and she's not even 9months yet!

Hope your all having a good weekend

Uh oh, I've just ordered a Davina DVD inspired by fuzzy and LM and now I'm scared! I got a box set with a longer one and then something 3? Seemed like the best deal on amazon. Not that I've done my yogalates one yet, but I will!

Really glad you had a better day with DD1 fuzzy, sounds like you've been having a tough time of it. Hugs.

Glad I'm not the only one whose been a young mum. Though where I grew up I'd be considered pretty old! It's a dead end town where people have babies to get a house, makes me very angry! I think in my high school class only a few girls have no kids by now, some have lots. I'm 23... Madness. I'm wittering, sorry. DS has only really just gone to sleep after another hellish evening, it's just so boring! Seriously considering some controlled crying, I'm at my wits end.

baiyu · 21/02/2009 23:47

Oh and sho and fuzzy glad I'm not the only one who loved wannabe! I still feel a bit sentimental when I hear it

Oh and I've never heard of grime either.

I remember fuzzy! Thanks for the reassurance about sleep and exercise, it has to get better one of these days I'm sure, it's not as if I don't try. Arg. Don't know why I'm still up, trying to reclaim my lost evening I think.

Mitchell81 · 22/02/2009 07:28

Baiyu Sorry to hear you are still having sleep troubles. But from the books on CC and people I know who have done it. It does work although will be hard on both you and DP, DS will never remember. There are loads of contraversal (sp??) threads on it and some of MN will jump on you for doing. But if you want to do it you can only try, but remember you need to stick with it as that is how it will work.

I fell pregnant with DD when I was 18, not planned but turned out to be a happy surprise. As my name suggests I was born in 1981 and I am 27.

My first music was a Michael Jackson tape and my favourite song growing up was Wannabe as well, still know all the words to Spice girls early stuff.

Fuzzy Hope you going to enjoy your week off with DH, glad DD1 and you had a nice day yesterday.

Haribo Hope you have a nice day today with DH before your birthday tomorrow.

ShonnamanomI think pancake day will be today as I am useless at making them, so DH will need to do it

We have decided to give it a go and DH is going offshore starting end of March. Fingers crossed it will be ok.

LM Hope DD enjoyed her dvds and biscuits

Mitchell81 · 22/02/2009 07:31

Forgot to add we are going this morning to get photos taken (Professional photographer has been organised by the Playgroup and you could book a slot.) Hoping to get a nice one of all three kids, unfortunetley we might also need to be in the photo for DD to be able to sit on the floor.

baiyu · 22/02/2009 11:47

mitchell thanks for the advice. TBH I'm kidding myself, I don't think I could do it, I'm far too soft! That Dr Marc Weisenbluth (sp?) method has some crying in it doesn't it? I do have the book out the library but I'm finding it hard to follow. I know some people swear by him though. Hmm. DP has a week before his dissertation deadline so I don't think hours of tears are going to work, he's stressed out enough as it is.

luckymummy74 · 22/02/2009 12:46

fuzzy thanks for the email, I haven't read it yet but saw that you sent one. Will try and read later. Yes, I remember 'sweet like chocolate', it was out when DH and I first got together, I was 25. I loved it!!!

Must go, in laws due imminently.....

I am saving the Charlie and Lola DVDs to use as end of week treats with our new sticker chart for DD1for her bahaviour, altho she has been better tha last few days.

Can't believe how fast this thread has got again!!

Fuzzy He would work 4 weeks away and then be home for 4 weeks(not working at all) So eventhough he might be away for 28 nights he then will be home for 28 nights. Also there is a big financial benefit on top of him getting more experience.
I am happy now that we have made the decision, obviously it will be hard but it will not be forever as in 2 or 3 years he will come back onshore and be in the office again.

around the 25th March

shonnomanom · 22/02/2009 20:03

Im normally rubbish at pancakes too mitchell but Iv got the new Jamie Oliver cookbook and he has a great way of making them.

1 egg
1 cup of flour
1 cup of milk

then just mix it all together Scrumpteous! or should I say Pukka! lol
I had a wee practise today before making them at work on tuesday :O

How has all your wee ones been with colds and the likes this winter? Its been one thng after another this year for Hannah. She started with a chest infection in Jan, just when she had got back to normal she got sickness & diarroah(sp) last week and now she's got a cold. I know their immune systems arent very strong yet but she doesnt seem to be getting a rest at all. And its not helping her weight either, she was on the 25th percentile thingy before the sickness.

Mmmm - just lost my long post. Not impressed.

Very quickly - Baiyu I didn't find Dr Marc's book too helpful and found it a bit confusing to read but someone (Fuzzypeach under her old name or Luckymummy I think????)did a post about 3 months ago which was a summary of the book's key points and was really useful as a kind of reminder.

I am off up north tomorrow for a few days and though we use public transport a lot I am a tad nervous about getting dd, bags, pram etc on the train on my own. Oh well - I'll just have to stand a look like I need help I suppose.

Haribosmummy · 23/02/2009 08:03

MM - Hope you enjoy your trip.
