dizzydixies · 13/01/2009 22:11

Ok I am getting very very and paranoid about how I write now. Looks like I am not just a lazy slattern when it comes to domestic duties.

Sorry No1. Didn't make you feel bad. My grammar and spelling is not great despite having it drummed into me at home. It's only because of that that I (try to, yet frequently fail to) notice what I do. I naturally subscribe to the 'whatever gets the message across' school of thought, although can't manage all of this new-fangled text speak .

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 13/01/2009 22:27

oh that is ok poppy I didn't mean to say you had made me feel bad
I think I try to get point across too, if you met me in rl you woould understand. I don't shut up.
My parents used to say when I was small that I had 'more rattle than a can of mabs'

Night all

Buckets · 13/01/2009 22:31

My main issue is guilt surounding DH's stressful job and drivetime. He really needs a new one but fancies something completely different therfore huge wage slash. My work-ability is limited - even when 2nd child starts school, I'd still have Kurt to pay childcare for and schoolhours to work within and we'd all be stressed out and the house would be an even bigger tip anyway.

VG I'm writing an article on Aspergers/autism awareness for my NCT newsletter, not quite finished yet. If you think it could be something you could use, you're welcome to nick it and tinker with it to suit your needs. Have also got a couple of bits I've written about eco sanpro? And one about birth trauma. They're yours to cut and paste if you want them or just as a springboard to get your imagination going...

Buckets · 13/01/2009 22:35

BTW I'm with the MN names! Don't remember actually using anyone's names but I would have used the MN ones. I know I mentioned VG as VG, you'll always be VG to me (maybe even Veej if we met.) And No1 is always pronounced Number One in my head.

AnnVan · 13/01/2009 22:45

Am I the only one that says no-one in my head when I read or type no1?

Miamla · 13/01/2009 23:17

you're number one in my head too!

evening all... thanks for your lovely comments to those i met in RL. I'm going to start taking commissions for the sling so if anyone would like a "miamla carrier" be sure to let me know! i know i'm a little biased but it was so comfy despite
a)wearing it for the majority of the day
b) my DS being no light sausage
c) having a dodgy back

VG, so excited that i still get to meet you

if i had my way, everybody on here would be able to get to meet in london. perhaps if i win the lottery....

for those not sure about travelling in London...i'm happy to meet you at the station you arrive at and i'll give you a personal escort

oh and Sambo and I managed to break the Bristol curse... we would have completely missed our train had it not been delayed by 15 minutes

right, DS finally asleep after our exciting day so bed calls

night all, lovely to meet some of you today, it was a wonderful adventure

Miamla · 14/01/2009 08:17

blimey.. i was last on yesterday and first on this morning! don't think that's ever happened before

deary me, i'm tired this morning. How's everyone else doing? i'm afraid i need to go to the supermarket so i'm not able to sort out breakfast for you all this morning. There is one bowl of porridge going spare though...

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 14/01/2009 09:08

morning all.

vg I was layed awake last night thinking about your question, not that i needed to think hard as its on my mind daily.
I have issues with money.
My dh has pretty good job, and luckily have not been affected by the current economic climate, however as I bring no income in to the home and i am not likely to as i have no plans to go back to work.I feel so guilty when i buy certain things. I have my own account with child b.etc... which dh tells me to use on myself (not on the dcs)
and use joint accout for anything i want 'big' or for the dcs etc.. I know i am lucky as he pays for everything my car, taxes, insurance,my mobile contract, my our dog insurance etc..
Occasionaly little comments really hurt
for eg.
i suggest meet up.
he says well thats ok fine iv got things to save up for like christening and 2nd birthday party etc...
(i know he doesn't mean it like that though)
or he goes on about work collegues partners who earn the same and how we would get morgage paid off in no time,etc..or if we had a 3rd child it would affect our retirement if we had 3 brainy kids to pay through uni.
i know i am doing a job looking after 2 dcs he reminds me of this constantly.
I also appreciate i am lucky,as my dsis struggles as a single mum of 3 on benefits.
but not being financially independant does make me feel miserable and inadequate sometimes.sorry if that was insensitive in anyway as it wasnt meant to be.
sorry to waffle its quite hard to keep it brief.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 14/01/2009 09:14

miamla that is also very kind of you to offer to meet me thankyou.

rotter which site did you book tickets??
where are you leaving from??
when is your return train??
sorry for all questions.

sambo303 · 14/01/2009 09:17

Good morning - was so zonked last night after getting home at 9pm that I went to bed ...without going on mn!! dp was most surprised!

Porridge...mmm, thanks Miamla - hope you enjoy your pyjama day today

Was lovely to meet the Bristol crew and their gorgeous LOs albeit some ever so briefly. Especial thanks to Sazzles for the guided tour of Bristol shops. Brilliant news vg that you're coming to London after disappointment yesterday. Waterloo is a short train ride for me so I'm happy to meet anyone arrving there who'd like assistance getting to Giraffe

Miamla is very talented on the sewing machine, that sling looked so comfy. Buckets also had a lovely rainbow coloured ring sling so I feel inspired to get my Moby out and try out a few 'holds'

ps ladies you are right I am not 37, my birthday was 2 weeks ago so I'm 38 aarghh!

Miamla · 14/01/2009 09:27

sambo.. hope you're inspired to do some more sewing too!
did Felix sleep ok last night?

my plan is that by the 27th DS will have a new outfit, esp after the awful slogan stuff we saw yesterday. Quite funny.. I realised when I was getting undressed last night that I'd made everything I was wearing!
If anyone's arriving early or leaving late, I'm happy for my place to act as somewhere to wait if need be.

rotterpotter · 14/01/2009 09:43

Morning all!

No1 I'm going from Wakefield via Doncaster to King's Cross, due to arrive in at 10.59 and leave again at 2.35pm. I know that only leaves 3 and a half hours in London but I figured that was enough for a first meet! I booked it at national express, two singles was cheaper than a return.

Now just need to lose 3 stone in 2 weeks ...

sambo303 · 14/01/2009 09:48

miamla yes you have inspired me and I am most impressed you made all your clothes worn yesterday!! Going to attempt some things for ds too - yuk and double yuk at 'bug patrol' t shirt.

sleep not great yesterday but I am lucky I have only ds and no work so can take it easy - off to water babies now then doing ZERO the rest of the day
