the rainbow road sounds delightful

glad to be of service -

poppy34 · 16/01/2009 21:58

the rainbow road is the most bearable of the songs..that said she loves it - it even makes her sit up..

Finally, computer back on! I'll do a speedy catch-up self centred post (although will mention in passing 5GoMad's shooting - impressive!) (Also Sponge don't worry about A's weight - guess why I'm saying that!)

Birthday - pretty bad really, because work rearranged and it became my first day back. It was only a staff meeting, though, and they formally welcomed me. It was not a good birthday really because I got no presents! Everyone in my own family gave me IOUs on the basis that my bday is so close to Christmas (what, this year?!). My PIL got me some lovely bath stuff but the bottle had leaked. Tim got me flowers and an IOU. Iestyn slept like a newborn (and we all know what that means...) the night before so I was all bleary eyed at work. But my Mum got me a new ironing board today (I wanted one...) so things are better! Nobody got me the ladder I wanted though.

Work - well, good in parts. The bad bits were me being all depressed about being in a strange department because I really want to be in the History department. Long story, and I won't run it past anybody here. Although I think there may be a work board - maybe I could post there. I'm grateful I have a job, mind.

Nursery - really pleased with that decision. Went for 2 hours with Iestyn yesterday, and loved the setup. The girls were really loving with the young children, took an interest ('this is X, he needs to be cuddled all the time because his mum has 2 older daughters and he's the much younger son' - and he was cuddled lots!). Iestyn did well - had a nap, ate some lunch (all homecooked local produce!) and played loads. I felt he would be in a safe, nurturing environment. Today he had 2 hours by himself there, and they got him to take a miniature amount of ebm from a bottle! He also didn't cry.

Next stage is to leave him there every day for a week to get him into their routine. That may put a new light on things!

Got to go because Tim is now hassling me for his computer back.

pureeandpearls · 16/01/2009 22:16

Essie- if you are back at work, why is your out of office still telling us you are on Maternity Leave

5gomad- only 10? You obviously weren't trying very hard - are you pureeing them or sauteeing them for Edie???

Debs- about this big [pearls holds arms out to side to demonstrate size of balls] (It amused me when I thought it, though not sure if it lacks a little in translation)

Katyjo- are chickenpox and pulling up related?!

HH- are Creme Eggs included in BLW schedule?

Sponge- I think A is heaven just the way he is xx

Nothing to report here- just had the vicar round to talk about Christening dates. And DH bought Konditor and Cook brownies home. Think he's planning on getting strted on pearls II tonight

Essie3 · 16/01/2009 22:24

Oh, God, just googled fisher price house of sin. That was a very bad idea. Someone post a link, please!

Puree good point. I haven't got an office yet, though, so until I do, I stick with the mat leave response. (Actually, that might annoy people quite a lot.)

Sponge don't worry about Alex, he's totally normal, as is Iestyn! (Really, what I want to say here is I worry so much about passing on my beautiful small and slim frame - oh, the burden! - and outrageous good looks on to Iestyn. I think it's started already. He's small because I'm size zero, right? Or is that only in my head...!!)

I hate weetabix. But it's great weaning food - it's a ready made puree once you've put milk on it! I'm assuming if it's BLW then the babies eat it dry??

Essie3 · 16/01/2009 22:31

Oohhhh, I'm finally on and nobody else is here! I'm Norma now!

bitofadramaqueen · 16/01/2009 23:40

Marking my spot. Yay for creme eggs. The chocolate good for BLWers and the goo for puree lovers. Sorted

FiveGoMadInDorset · 17/01/2009 08:24

SHE DID IT she slept until 6.45 this morning. S didn't but she did

AliandHerScallywag · 17/01/2009 09:52

Amazing news Five. You must be thrilled.

Even we had a better night with P managing to sleep from 9.30 till 3.00.

katyjo · 17/01/2009 09:53

Five WOW, that's great news!

Essie That sounds like a lovely nursery. Sorry you had such a crap birthday, and work is not exactly what you hoped for. Please feel free to bore us with your work story!

Dry weetabix!?! I thnk i'd prefer bdq's idea of a creme egg!

Sponge Don't worry about A's weight, Hamish was a podgy baby, but lost it all when he started walking/crawling and now at 3 he is really skinny!

puree Maybe it was the chicken pox, we have been in the house a lot more! Although it has stopped her sleeping too, she woke up 3 times last night and I'm knackered!

bitofadramaqueen · 17/01/2009 10:40

Great news five.

How about dry weetabix with cheese and creme egg goo .

Rubbish night here - S has a terrible cough and it's kept us up for most of the last two nights. Anyone had any success with cough medicines?

DebInAustria · 17/01/2009 15:07

Great news 5 and dd sleeping - well done to her.

Puree - funny!

Essie - sorry about your birthday, buy yourself something.

Happy 7 months Peter from Ethan - he just rolled off his mat with his toys to get a transformer from his brothers!

poppy34 · 17/01/2009 17:52

katyjo sorry to hear you're done in

edie squeaking and watching rugby with her father - he think it passes for analysis of the game

DebInAustria · 17/01/2009 19:51

Ethan's having a sleepover.... in his brother's bedroom and so far so good. We really need to get him out of our room now and he'll have to share with them or sleep upstairs whilst we're all downstairs(upside down house)So were trying it tonight with it not being a school night in case it all goes wrong later!!Last night Ethan was in our bed more than his and reverted to feeding every 2 hours, tonight must be better.

DebInAustria · 17/01/2009 19:52

Poppy - that's so sweet about Edie watching rugby.

Essie3 · 17/01/2009 20:01

Ahhhh, not really called house of sin. That makes more sense! But love the (totally accurate) description of the baby!

goingtohaveagoodnightssleep · 17/01/2009 20:02

Hope you had a good night last night P&P

Debs Have you heard of a radio station called oe3. DD did a job for them today and was wondering if you could look out for the pictures please.

DebInAustria · 17/01/2009 20:34

Essie3 · 17/01/2009 22:33
