hghonline - I've just looked, there is 1 left!

I'd never heard of it before either, but it popped up when I googled. An alternative to Ebay - I'm going to investigate further looks cheaper for fees etc.

bitofadramaqueen · 14/01/2009 20:14

Just had a look - only one person selling for £20 so that's bound to be the same person you bought from? Just checked out his seller ratings and his last lot of stock was fetish gear .

Linlithgow is nice actually, but no idea on baby friendly venues.

parofleurmapu · 14/01/2009 20:15

Evening!

WEll off work today cause Fleur has croup, spanish paed wanted to give her steroid treatment straightaway! So far she only has cough so we are holding off nebulisers at mo! Will only go down that route if she cant breathe as NHS direct told me She also wanted to give me supposotories for her to calm her cough!! I just laughed and said i have cough medicine from england.

Maybe supposotories arent that silly who knows but i heard on Radio Norfolk at xmas that vicks on feet was meant to help so have tried that tonight too!!

BDQ Protein do chick peas and white beans count as protein if so Fleur loves those too

Poppy no hope with antib stains im afraid Fleur has some in her clothes from ear infection antibs she had

Neenz did like your reply to Miss Jasmin !!!hehe

bitofadramaqueen · 14/01/2009 20:17

ooh, only 1 left. Am dithering as also seen a full box set of mr men books today for £30 which was bargain. Books or babysitting dvd's..... Aarrrrgghhhh the dilemma! DH home soon so will see what he thinks, and if its already gone then it wasn't meant to be. Oh, I so love a bargain....

Do you think non-posters read our post-natal thread? Someone might be reading this and sneaking off to buy the dvd's as I type...

bitofadramaqueen · 14/01/2009 20:18

Hello paro welcome back!

poppy34 · 14/01/2009 20:19

oohh.. I hope not as this is our gang (gets all protective in the manner of 14 year old on the bus with arm round her homework)... but you could use a sniping website to get what you want.. dh obsessed by em

whinegums · 14/01/2009 20:23

Eeek, didn't check what else he'd sold, only the ratings!!! Must check those DVDs carefully, have visions of Baby Einstein puppets in compromising positions.....

poppy34 · 14/01/2009 20:24

more likely to be pirate so not great quality and you'll feel guilty everytime the knock off nigel ad comes on . Edie loves the baby noah one at minute - it makes her laugh herself silly

bitofadramaqueen · 14/01/2009 20:25

poppy34 · 14/01/2009 20:28

whinegums · 14/01/2009 20:39

poppy, am v concerned about your taste in filth, sounds v specialist if you are into porno sailors!!!!

Nice to see you back paro, hope Fleur's cough improves. Suppositories, fgs, that makes my eyes water!!!!

DramaQ, have started a thread in Chat for baby friendly meeting place suggestions. Let's see what that throws up...

poppy34 · 14/01/2009 20:44

whinegums · 14/01/2009 20:47

Especially one with eight arms I'm thinking....

mellymell · 14/01/2009 20:50

Hi everyone. I love the fact that this thread is still going.

Well, I've been having a pretty eventful time since I last posted and hence I've been rather quiet. So far:

  • I was made redundant during my maternity leave which I am still fighting
  • My husband was posted up to Manchester in August (2 months after DS2 was born) and since there's not much to keep me in London, I am planning to relocate the rest of the family up to Manchester.
  • Lost all my maternity leave savings for October/November/December in Iceland - thankfully, I have them back now, but it was a pretty crap end to the year.
  • my childcare quit - but that was not so bad, since she kept telling me off for being disorganised!!

However, I will not be bowed - I am currently in discussions for a job up in manchester which could be amazing and I love the thought of living up north where there are great schools, lovely houses and great country. Just hope the northerners will take pity on a Southerner . Therefore, if there are any Mancunians / Cheshire-ians out there, advice on where to live / schools etc will be very much appreciated.

Long post, but lovely to be back on here.

poppy34 · 14/01/2009 20:51

lovely to have you back mellymel and so sorry to hear about your crap time..here is hoping 2009 bit better for you

DebInAustria · 14/01/2009 20:52

Kathjo - sorry to hear about the chicken pox

Allnew - Ethan has had turkey, chicken, pork, beef, fish and egg

Going2 - thanks for your message, hope the girls don't get the bug.

Alli - Peters birthday buddy gets very cross on his tummy too

bdq - hope you get a better night

Paro - the Austrians are hot on suppositories too, I did have to give one/insert one into Tristan last year(aged 5) when he had bronchitis - not nice to do but they work so fast and he was so good about it.

DebInAustria · 14/01/2009 20:54

Hi Mellymell - what a year, 2009 has to be better

whinegums · 14/01/2009 20:55

Hi Mellymel, I've also been made redundant, and had the Icesave thing to deal with too, so sympathies! Good luck with fighting your case, and the relocation. I like Manchester!

PenguinProject · 14/01/2009 21:01

Wow - you guys are nearly half way thru the thread! How much is it feasible for me to read...? I'll go back 4 pages and see how I get on.

Whinegums and Mellymel - Whinbegums 20.55 post caught my eye. Really sorry to hear about your redundancies. Hope the payoffs are good at least.

Right, back when I've caught up a bit. Missed this thread!

DebInAustria · 14/01/2009 21:05

Hi PP - how are you?

pleasechange · 14/01/2009 21:06

welcome back mellymel - I live in Manchester! When are you moving up?

Hi penguin paro sorry to hear about Fleur's croup, hope she is feeling better soon

I'm really hoping for a better night this eve, last night was about every half hour (similar to bdq I think!)

Phonecall with manager went okish. He's okayed the compressed hours in principle, and we'll discuss the specifics when I go back

bitofadramaqueen · 14/01/2009 21:15

Hope you get a better night too allnew. Will look out for that thread in chat whinegums

Thanks deb

Welcome back to all who have strayed.

whinegums · 14/01/2009 21:35

Hi Penguin, and thanks for that - am job hunting atm.

DramaQ - only thee and me on that thread so far - there must be some other Scottish mners who can help!

PenguinProject · 14/01/2009 21:57

OK, I've forgotten everything I've read. Going to just go from this page onwards and try and check in a bit more often.

Hello Deb! When are you coming back, or are you back already? Tell me your tv show hasn't been on yet, I'll be gutted if I missed it!

Hello Allnew - Good luck for tonight. Compressed hours sounds great. For Jan I'm office based two days a week and at home two days a week (Fridays = annual leave). So it almost feels part time IYKWIM.

BDQ - LOL at the idea that I'm a stray.

Whinegums - What industry are you in?

Ryder now has teeth (top and bottom), commando crawls at a terrifying speed and is loving Daddy looking after him. No speaking at all tho, v jealous of the mammas and daddas. Food wise, we're doing a mix of finger foods (BLW style I suppose, been giving him anything we eat that it chilli, salt and sugar free) and puree. Generally loving yoghurt, hating sweet potato. He's still a bit of a lightweight (unlike his Mum!) and a shortarse tho (like his Mum).

I'm enjoying the freedom (if that's the right word) that being back at work gives me. The commute is fantastic for reading again and having a lunch break is amazing. Expressing a work is a chore though, esp as I'm having so many long meetings, it means I have to really manage my time carefully.

Still 50% chance that I'll be made redundant at some point this year, but my main role right now is managing the systems for the redundancy process for the rest of the bank(s). So my actual job isn't exactly feeling me with joy...but I'm sure that some people out there will be happy to hear that lots of investment bankers will be losing their jobs.

HH - Are you watching BBC1 right now? (I remember who you work for). How lucky are you to be getting a bonus!?
