Rutho Good to have you back and that you haven't lost your sense of humour among the dirty nappies
Obs So pleased you've got an appointment - hopefully the paed will be able to help. Sorry to hear things are still not good - E has had a few screaming fits in recent days which were distressing enough, can't imagine what it must be like to deal with them for hours on end night after night
Exploding poo... thought this had settled down in recent days but no, she caught me out this afternoon and ended up in the bath again I suppose one advantage is that she's actually beginning to like baths now - she was smiling as I dribbled water over her
Coolkat Hope you can get some advice about your employment situation - you shouldn't have to be dealing with this whilst on mat leave.
Lacks Sorry to hear Bumble is ill after his jabs and also that bf is painful again You've really been through the mill haven't you?
Hana Sorry to hear about your bad night with F too and also prolapse
Ceebee and Pinkali Love the pics Ladybuzz at the dr - what a waste of time!
Twinkling Glad things are better for you
Hello to everybody I've missed - not seen MonkeyMargot on here recently - hope she's OK.
I left E with my Mum this morning whilst I went to the gym and Mum managed to get her off to sleep in her car seat for an hour - how come E won't sleep on her own with me I tried to put her in her swing seat whilst I had a shower once we got home but she started screaming just as I was shampooing my hair! Had to leave her to it...
We're going to see a cranial osteopath tomorrow afternoon so it will be interesting to see what she says.

ruthosaurus · 07/01/2009 17:28

Yo, Obs, ACE mega catch up - how organised!

Give them hell from me while you're there - I got told by my bitch of a GP at 7 weeks pg that I shouldn't have gone to A&E with pains so severe they made my eyes water, but either called the out of hours GP service (didn;t know it existed) or - get this - waited for my booking apt with the midwife to air my concerns.

Having said that, the GP I saw on Monday was lovely but so out of touch with postnatal care he forgot to take my blood pressure or sort out contraception. Dur.

ruthosaurus · 07/01/2009 17:31

Hey Cricri, xpost or I would have high-fived you on the way past! Just off to change an exploding nappy myself - I have taken to waiting for the third poo noise as this way I end up changing the bedlinen less often!

Btw, what is a cranial osteopath? Scuse dumb Q, but I have heard the term a lot and not quite sure what it is they do.

chocolategal · 07/01/2009 17:38

hi rutho lovely to see you back and cheering us all up!
cricri i was thinking about monkeymargot too the other day, hope shes well.
obs you are right, compared to what you and others are having to deal with the pelvic floors must come down the list of priorities!

waves to everyone else

obs glad u got injection. and some LOL at doctor "babies do cry"...uhhhhh yeah, like you haven't had one before and know difference.

rutho well done for snaffling computer back. long may it last!

furrytiger, been thinking about you. realisd something that has been bothering me. i have experience of being emotional vampire .not any of other characteristics and never usec on kids, just parents,dh and flatmate before married. only when i am really ill, but still ashamed. was odd to see it and understand it a bit more. can mail via fb you if you are interested in someone who inflicts it and why...

Oblomov · 07/01/2009 18:05

Cricri said that E( god, I love love love her name cricri) likes the bath now. good job for exploding pooh'ers. Just thinking, Max has always liked the bath. So, Dozy, are you bathing T EVERY night ? Should I routine Max a bit more and bath him EVERY night ?

He has very dry skin on face. This morning He scratched himself all over face and made himself bleed in many places. Looks a right state. His nails he hates being cut. And he hardly ever uncurls his hands. Is this normal. Gp this morning gave me Emollient cream for eczema. What do I buy from the chemists when this runs out ?
Plus, Dozy we used a sleeping bag last night for first time. Only becasue he had dirtied all other changes of bed linen int he last few days, with exploding poohs. So we are stopping swaddling/ using blankets and are officailly onto sleeping bags now. Are you ?

MerryM, at 4.30 am the other night, I couldn't be bothered (bad mummy) to change his nappy. And he wet through. through blankets, sleepsuit, through the mattress - yes really. bad mummy.
so that was why we moved to sleeping bags, see previous post.

15 hours merry . all credit to Moltex Oko though. If that had been a nature babycare it would have been degrading gently on the baby .

I'm only getting through 3 or four tots bots a day at the minute. Either bumble isn't a heavy wetter or they are very absorbent.

The wee soul has slept all day today; I hope he isn't going to have another wakeful night again

I'm off to New Look tomorrow then, as soon as Andy from iCandy (pmsl ) has finished his demo.

Are Moltex good then? I've found Naturecare okay but hard to get hold of - I pick up some at Boots every time I go past but hard with the pram as they weigh a ton and I can only get 1 pack in the shopping bit!

So much for my Official Nap - the bugger won't wake up now. Have tried cold air, loud singing and Radio 4 and would up the ante but fear that going further would be cruel. Mind you, The Archers is on next, that might work.

Hmm.

You know you're getting on a bit when Archers refers to the radio rather than peach schnapps... and when you actively care how the Ambridge Xmas panto went.

Have just realised that I AM my parents, down to the scruffy trousers and disdain for TV. Oh God.

LackaDAISYcal · 07/01/2009 19:03

I'm using tots rainbow star wraps, which are really cute. They are the new design with no leg gussets, and although a bit baggy round the legs seem to hold everything in....it is a puzzlement. I do have some nature babies and motherease wraps but he was too big for them by the time I got organised into using reuseables. I've only got three but seem to be managing just fine with those.

I have a load of wraps and nappies to list on usednappies though.

LackaDAISYcal · 07/01/2009 19:06

oh rutho, sainsbury's had stopped doing the nature babycare ones, but have got them in stock again I noticed. I think they had to bow to public opinion as I know lots of mums I know complained.

they sell them in the Co-op as well round here.

OP posts:
ruthosaurus · 07/01/2009 19:15

Oh, I'll have to check the Coop as well! There isn't one for miles but it's good to know that, if we pass one.

DH has done a silly thing. His car battery died on NYE so he's been using my car for work. He got a battery from Halfords yesterday but they sold him the worng one, so he's got that refunded tonight but they don't have the right one at either Sheffield store. So I don't get to use my car and his is sat there being useless. And he's spending his evenings driving fruitlessly around Sheffield. In my damn car!

Because of this I am reliant on public transport and am missing things like a work lunch today and, dammit, it's my flippin' car! If it was me I'd have sorted the thing out by last Saturday but, and I quote, he "didn't feel like going out of the house" then.

Gah.

Right, off to make dinner. With extra arsenic.

MerryMarigold · 07/01/2009 19:58

rutho, i buy the moltex in bulk from www.spiritofnature.co.uk. they do good deals and deliver free if you order over a certain amount. use them mainly because of less gels etc. not the biodegradable thing! can;t face putting them all in my composter!!! am planning to do a mix of reusables when i ever get the time to sort the voucher out and go get some wraps (someone gave me a motherease hamper, but not many wraps in it of the smaller size).

p.s rutho, don't put the arsenic in your half of the dinner !

MerryMarigold · 07/01/2009 19:59

lacks, i may be interested in your sling. what do you have again?

Ceebee74 · 07/01/2009 20:06

Right, dinner is in the oven, DS1 is asleep in bed and Sam is asleep in the travel cot - phew!

Eventually got Sam weighed this afternoon (there was a queue of about 5 babies when I got there and the HV were taking ages - Sam was overdue a feed by about an hour as I had been in town and thought I could quickly get him weighed and home - hah!) Anyway, He weighs 11lb 5oz so he has put on 2lbs since he was born- still following just below 75th centile.

Obs I have been using sleeping bags with Sam since the day he came back from hospital - did the same with DS1 - so much easier than blankets etc. DS1 was in his until he was over 2yo

LackaDAISYcal · 07/01/2009 20:08

I've got a Baby Buddha (not available in the UK) and a Close Carrier.

I feel I should keep one of them and persevere with it, but he just hates them so much.

Incidentally, the woman (and baby) on the close website picture who is hanging out the washing is from my June 07 thread.
