LaTrucha · 22/01/2009 15:04

I remeber that well Filly! And I'm glad you haven't disappeared. Good luck in the job hunt. Do remember, when you have interviews, to ask where your desk will be and choose the job that has the desk in the corner withthe computer screen facing away from the rest of the room so that we can have some more of you.

JKS - LOL I actually went to see DH because I wanted to tell him as I thought there would be bruises and recriminations (there weren't any of either). I knew I couldnt' tell himj over the phone or he'd be worried all day.

Grr for DVDs

Lily - how's your ice problem. I am pretty fed up because we get no reduction on our CT while we're away, despite using NO services. You only get a reduction if you've no furniture in the house.

LaTrucha · 22/01/2009 15:07

NO - DB has not gone - just gone for a walk.

Who was asking about naps? Was it ME even? Anyway, Sabela has just suddenly gone for a afternoon nap only. How am I ever going to have a shower?

She is also 'walking' holding only one hand and this morning deliberately let go to see if she could stand. She went straight down but Igave her applause so she thought it was funny.

fillybuster · 22/01/2009 15:24

For the record, Tamara is still not crawling although she's just started doing a funny little caterpillar flip on her tummy so she can inch along a tiny bit at a time if she's desperate to get to something. Hey ho....ds didn't crawl until 12 months and walk until 18mo but I was so sure T would be moving sooner as she's so happy on her tummy....

I do actually have a desk in the corner, with a wall behind me, in my 'official' office, but I haven't been there for over a week. To be honest not being online is more to do with having the manager from hell and shocking workload....I need to get out!!!!

simpson · 22/01/2009 15:31

Hi all

Hi Filly!!! Hope you get the work situation sorted soon. Then you can come back to us

Lilyloo - Yes DS a big fan of Peppa pig. We have cream carpets too!! Hope bins are getting sorted.

LaT -glad you had some time to yourself..LOL at hoovering naked

JKS - Poor you and DSs at weigh in.

DD also keeps saying Uh oh again and again. Today she has decided to kiss a doll only, not people anymore but it is sooo sweet hearing the exaggerated kissy noises she makes And today she has also learnt to rock the doll like a baby, she looks so sweet I could eat her

Well pead has finally rung and wants me to keep a food diary which makes sense. But says he doesn't want to go down the allergy/intolerance route unless he has to as it will make feeding her difficult (no st sherlock)He is convinced she does not have any intolerances and it is pure fluke the neocate has made her better (Did not say this today BTW but in the past)

Have to say I agree with most of what he said (this time) as he said he is prepared to do blood tests etc but we need to have more of an idea of what is causing it otherwise like looking for needle in haystack.

Soooo plan is to do food diary till we see dietician on 12th Feb and show it to her and she may see a pattern emerging as to what is causing runny poos etc. Then maybe blood tests after that. DD not in any pain now (just sore bum) so am ok with doing this...

mixedmamameansbusiness · 22/01/2009 16:24

no time to catch up properly.. as DS2 havign a teething fit again!! seems never ending.

hi to filly welcome back...

holiday sorted... dh said me and the kids go and will tell my dad that as he is self employed he wont get paid if he doesnt work so he is going to stay here and work... woo hoo up the diet to wear a bikini this year

simpson · 22/01/2009 20:53

Mixed mama -

Glad you got holiday sorted!!

Gingeme · 22/01/2009 21:51

Evening ladies.
Glad you got your hols sorted mm
LaTrucha did you hoover naked?
Welcome back sort of Filly. Glad you are well.
JKS can you not download Toy story off tinternet? DS3 went through a Toy Story phase and wanted to be Buzz Lightning
I have been having a mega spring clean of under our bed. I want to get a Divan base next month as our mattress is nealry new so I thought rather than wait till we had to do it we would now. Took about 4 bags to the charity shop, British Red Cross, to be refused so just down the road from it was a London Hopice one and we took the bags in there and they were very grateful. Now we know where to go next time [angy]
We went to my rl friends for tea today. She has an 18 month old dd who was very happy bossing the boys about and while we were there George took about 9 steps then while I was reading the boys their bed time story he took about another 9. Plonked himself on the floor and gave himself a round of applause

mixedmamameansbusiness · 22/01/2009 22:01

By the way I chat to Frangolina on FB and she was away on hols over Xmas for a good 4 weeks if i remember correctly. Will drop her an email.

JKS congrats on the weight loss... I am finally back to pre-Ds1 weight but the year before I got pregnant I put on a stone and a half so am trying to get back to that weight. 1 stone left and ww weigh in tomorrow.

Hi to everyone, off to bed in a minute.

madmouse · 22/01/2009 22:02

lol at George giving himself a round of applause, too right

And at the prospect of the beautiful LaT hoovering naked, mind those curtains love

at Molly's paed, what does it take to be taken seriously???

JKS glad Henry had a good birthday

Good to see you Mixedmama and Filly Sorry bout teething.

Sorry, forgot the rest, brain mush

Lucky did you get locked up in Chester zoo where are ye?

A bit better here, still a bit off my food and generally iffy, but getting there.

Funny old day here, Nathan woke at 4.30 for another very-hard-work-poo and we all went back to sleep until 9.15 . He was happy enough eating brekkie and did another constipated poo at 10.30 but he was still not right, bit tearful, not so bouncy and wanted a morning nap and left his morning yogurt (double )

Had a hearing test at lunchtime, distraction test where a lady kept his attention with a toy and he had to look at a box every time a sound came and then something happened in the box (dancing monkey). It was almost fine, but he has a tiny bit of hearing loss in the lowest decibles. But she said that was probably because one ear is red and has some fluid in. Aha! That's why he is moaning.

Refused most of his lunch, chucked up what he had eaten so rang drs. Saw doctor who gave antibiotics and lactulose for constipation.

Rushing home for physio at 4pm. Phew. At least that went well. Sitting still progressing rapidly (he no longer falls over all the time, just chucks himself backwards if he is fed up sitting )and his arm has improved so much that we can swap the regular arm stretches for exercises in reaching out for a toy so that is all good.

Just back from Tesco, did not want to put Nathan through that as well.

Anyone know how long lactulose takes to work? His tummy sounded very noisy! I have warned his cm by text that the cumulative effect of antibiotics and lactulose might make things errrm interesting

enough waffle from me

xx

Gingeme - why did they refuse??

Gingeme · 22/01/2009 22:49

I don't think it takes very long to work madmouse. Wish the cm luck !!
MM I have no idea. DH took the bags in and they asked if he had any childrens toys in there, he said yes some so they said they don't want them and sent him down the road We have had this before with Scope too. The place we take the stuff has quite a few charity shops so we now know on our next spring clean not to take it to these two shops I would have freecycled like I usualy do but I hate being mucked about plus there was quite alot of stuff.

LuckySalem · 23/01/2009 01:14

ok all I've tried to catch up and in my own crap way here's my input into everything.

Happy Birthday to Martha, Henry, Ella & Charlie

Mixedmama - Well done on the hol am so of you.

Simpson - Kick your pead up the arse and sorry to hear about the sky bill.

We went to Chester Zoo - just about to upload pics to facebook Aaliyah loved it and didn't stop laughing at the lion roaring.

Anyways am having abit of trouble with A at the mo 2 things really. 1 she's waking in the night again (last 3 nights) am very tired from it but I think it may be due to her routine being different while DP is off. 2 - Her poos (sorry TMI) are becoming VERY solid and it seems as though she's having trouble getting them out.

Could both of these be cos of the cows milk? She's been on it for about 2/3 weeks now.

simpson · 23/01/2009 09:18

Happy Birthday to Charlie

Madmouse - the lactulose should work pretty quickly but will work quicker/better if he drinks lots of fluids. How much did you give him?

DD was having 2.5ml first thung and 2.5mls just after tea.

Lucky - could be cows milk. I would up the fluids and give prunes, orange juice (diluted) etc but if it gets bad go to doc and they will give lactulose.

Lactulose is pretty gentle and it may be worth trying.

You can also buy prebiotic drops from chemist which might help with pooing.

Happy birthday Charlie!

Thankyou for all your kind enquiries re: the hoovering. I decided it was a bit parky!

No time to catch up properly. I have to go out. It's a pity as I have the house to myself agagin.

I'm saying goodbye to all my friends gradually and I've juts reaqlised I won't have to miss you guys! Hooray!

Gingeme · 23/01/2009 12:15

Happy Birthday Charlie
RE constipation I have always sworn by orange juice. 1 medicine spoonfull morning and last thing at night. Always does the trick without it upsetting the system. hth .
Lucky Salem so you would recomend Chester Zoo? We are looking for places to go half term and were considering this. Is it a big zoo? How much is it to get in? What are the baby facilities like?
I think garlic is upsetting Georges tummy. We went to Pizza Express Tuesday and he had a dough ball and had a rough night Tuesday. We had them again at my friends last night and he was very windy and strainy Will keep an eye on him. Took him to plyagroup this morning where he literaly ran around the hall with the walker. Lovely big church hall so plenty of room
My friend popped in with her 2 week old baby. So sweet and so tiny. Very lovely but I didn't feel one bit broody. Probably beause its mooncup week too so my hormones are probably knackered!!
Well my big boys are coming this evening so a busy weekend ahead.
Take care all xxx

MrsMcJnr · 23/01/2009 12:43

Hey ladies hope everyone is well. Sorry I disappeared for a few days, been hectic with a couple of nights out and trying to get organised for DS?s 1st birthday tomorrow will now try to catch up.

fillybuster · 23/01/2009 15:58

Happy birthday Charlie!!

When I got home last night Tamara tummy-flipped all the way from ds's room to the top of our stairs to see me...woo hoo! Its about 3-4 metres and the furthest she's ever moved....dh put the main stairgate up after the kids were in bed!!

She's got 2 front teeth properly through at the bottom, been there for about 3 months and there's finally 2 more coming through at the sides on top, which is a relief as I think they've been really bothering her. She turned into the velcro-baby-from-hell over the xmas period, but I think that was mainly due to have the most awful stinking cold and cough for about 3 weeks (she kept coughing herself awake at night and was utterly miserable) and because she still wasn't moving. She seems to be back to her happy self again, phew!

Madmouse - hurrah for Nathan Sorry he's under the weather (bit worried about those nappies!!) but delighted to hear his development is coming on so well

Mixedmama...holiday...

Simpson - sorry to hear you still haven't got to the bottom of the food thing

Lucky - I think ds had a similar reaction to cows milk - we're about to move Tamara over but will probably make up her bottles 50/50 for a week or so. If you just up her fruit intake (those squeezy smoothies from Ellas kitchen are great) that should get her moving....!!

Back to work...sigh! Hope you have a good weekend!

AngeChica · 23/01/2009 16:24

Happy birthday to Charlie, and feliz cumpleanos to Xavier for tomorrow in case I don't get on.

Well rivers of snot, lots of whingeing and 4 dirty nappies today... the cause has just been revealed as first molar through!

Got checklist in post for 12 month checkup next week. DS does not point or say any words yet.

Go mixedmama with the weight loss.

And great update on Nathan.

Have good weekend all.

AngeChica · 23/01/2009 16:52

Oh! Have just spotted it is also Ruby's birthday today x

simpson · 23/01/2009 17:05

Happy Birthday Ruby

Well we have had lots of poo here today too, 4 so far. But they have all been normal (sorry TMI) Uh oh think DD straining for no. 5

DS had total temper tantrum/melt down in public today We left to walk to pre school and he suddenly decided he did not want to go to school cue sobbing, wailing, flinging self on floor We were then late.

Teacher very good though and read him a book one to one to calm him down and distract him etc.

Have put DD's name down for playgroup as the waiting list for Ds's old one is so long!! She will start as soon as she is 2.
