LaT - ((hugs))

Sorry you are going through this.

MIL is an alcoholic (won't admit it) and so is SIL. DH has lost one aunt and an uncle to it.

The amount of booze when we were younger (before DCs) that DH thought was normal was far more than what I thought due to the way he had been brought up.

LuckySalem · 23/01/2009 20:01

LaT - Sorry to hear about this, I'm afraid I'm no good with advice for this but I do offer some hugs for you to get through it.

Ginge - We were there for 4 hours on sat and didn't see it all, I think we got around 1/2 of it when it closed. Including lunch.
Baby facilities are fine they even have a seperate baby change at most of the toilets so either mum or dad can deal with it which was a huge thing for me.
There is somewhere a petting farm apparently but we didn't' find it. DD's fave part was the lion although everything was called a cat!

She's started saying cock and we have no idea where its come from we're hoping its her trying to say coke but when she said it on the picnic area we both slunk in shame. Especially when it became Cock cock cock....

constipattion thing - she has LOADS of fruit! At least one orange a day, hand ful of grapes and a banana on her weetabix in the morning. Was a little looser today so i'm hoping thats passing BUT she has got a MAJOR cold

Lilyloo · 23/01/2009 20:01

Happy birthday Charlie and Ruby

LuckySalem · 23/01/2009 20:03

simpson · 23/01/2009 20:03

Lilyloo · 23/01/2009 20:14

I would reccomend Chester zoo too. It's very big and unlikely you will get ound it all in a day. Did you do the bats Lucky ?

What's the plans for tom MrsMc ??

Lucky so sorry , i guess he is going to have days like that but it must be hard. What is your leaving date ? Do you have the net over there ?

Filly yeah movement you must be very proud!!

Simpson i love how they always choose the best time and place Just saw your thread for food ideas hopeyou get some. It must b really difficult. Can you not google a cooking book ??

MM poor Nathan do you think he is picking up what you have had ? Watch on the lactulose and only give a tiny bit. When it works it works!

Mixedm glad you sorted the holiday. How long do yougo for ?? Will dh mind being away from the ds for so long ?

Ange dd can say mama and harry and thats about it. She is very quiet compared to the other two , think she can't get word in edge ways
Hope the snot goes soon. Guessing you have lot's of snail trails up your legs , on your shoulder!!

JKS you are the queen of birthday lists

Just had some awful news , one of the girls i used to teach at school killed herself last night had a pretty crummy and sad life to end like that is awful, she was only 16

Lilyloo · 23/01/2009 20:15

oops meant LaT not Lucky

LuckySalem · 23/01/2009 20:17

Lily that's horrid. Poor girl.

Yes we did that bats and the butterflies. Didn't have a choice about the bats as its DP's fave part. me and DD LOVED the butterflies although got told off cos she had her hands too close apparently. Ahh well. lol

LaTrucha · 23/01/2009 20:46

Oh don't worry! I'm going to have the internet over there. In fact, DH has bought a new 'notebook' computer so I can have a computer when he's away working . We leave on Thursday. I'm really looking forward to it now.

Have just lied to my Dad on the phone and told him DB is fine. If I tell him, we'll all get 20 000 phone calls from my dad trying and failing ot sort it out. I want to talk to DB. He's currently snoring away upstairs.

How awful about your girl Lily. So sorry .

It is kind of reassuring to know that other people have alchys in the family Simpson! Sorry you have though.

MM - How's Nathan today?

Ange - I didn't realise about the first molar until I saw it. They look massive don't they?

Filly - for Tamara moving. Sabela iss till stationary.

Gingeme - how's george's wind today? Sabela does the most massive farts sometimes. It's hilarious as she's so dainty looking.

JKS - list queen!

madmouse · 23/01/2009 20:48

Hi all

Happy birthday Ruby

Oh Filly a friend's little boy did the same thing, it looks so cute. Watch out it turned into megafast crawling in weeks

LaT , what can I say. That is just so..so..so..
Yes it is a disease but you have had more than your fair share of its effects and it must feel like a smack in the face after all you have done for him, and having lost your mum plus it does not bode well for when you have gone to Spain.

Lily that is really sad about that girl, that's not how 16 is supposed to be like

Lucky glad you had fun in the zoo, need to look at your pics on facebook, will do in a sec

Can't believe all our babies are having birthdays. Nathan is the baby of the lot [sorry ] closing the door next week Sunday. He is having a little tea party. I spent far too much money on a cake mould in the shape of a train with eight carriages. Will look sooo cute though . Are we bad arents? Have not bought him any pressies as we cannot think of anything he does not have yet. Maybe a few books. For his baptism he had a wheeliebug that he cannot ride yet, and a Dora the Explorer ball pool cum swimming pool for the garden. And another toy I bought for him just this week. We were going to buy him a large bead frame as he loves those and will hold on with his right hand while he plays, but a friend says she has a nearly new one in the attic, her daughters did not like it.

Babies are complex creatures by the way. So Nathan has antibiotics and lactulose, did a huge (by Nathan standards) poo for the child minder, seems happier in himself, then screams himself silly over hot dinner refusing to eat, me in a flap (stress chicken ), then he proceeds to eat half a jar of stone cold pasta from the fridge

So guess what, I cleaned his teeth and found...an emerging top tooth, his first , so he is now fast asleep on some calpol. It still needs to push through the last bit of skin so he must be sore. Can't wait till its all sorted. still, i think he is an easy teether compared to some!

OP posts:
madmouse · 23/01/2009 20:50

I mean first top tooth, he has two bottom teeth

OP posts:
madmouse · 23/01/2009 20:52

x post LaT, probably wise re your dad, although will he have to deal with things when you have left?

still don't know how long you are going to spain for?

molars! Not for a while yet here, lots of teeth to go!

OP posts:
Lilyloo · 23/01/2009 20:55

ooh sounds like a tooth then MM maybe he wants cold things to ease it ??

LaT dp doesn't speak to his dad for that reason so it isn't just you !!!

simpson · 23/01/2009 20:58

Yay to Nathan's first tooth i thought that was a handle of a wheelybug in his pic. Tis the same one I got DS, the ladybird.

DD's birthday she has got V tech toy that was faulty at Christmas and that pop up animal toy I saw in Nathan's pic too and an electronic toy drum from ELC. Will probably give her a balloon too.

Lilyloo - how sad for that poor girl, 16 is no age

Have tried googling food ideas but they seem too complicated for me Need an easy step by step A-Z kind of book

LaT - glad we will not lose you

Ok guys I have finally given in & joined facebook what do I do now??

madmouse · 23/01/2009 21:09

simpson too many people with your name on facebook, can you find me? You know my real name from emails?

it is his third tooth actually

the pop up toy do you mean his busy box? He loves it, he can close them all and open three of them.

OP posts:
madmouse · 23/01/2009 21:10

oh what sort of food ideas do you need?

OP posts:
LuckySalem · 23/01/2009 21:18

oh Simps - If you find MM then i'm sure she'll help you find me!

simpson · 23/01/2009 21:22

The toy with the pop up animals some with dials and some with levers.. I think Its yellow.

I can find you on facebook...then what do I do?

Basically DD eats fish pie, shepherds pie, chicken, veg & rice/couscous, fishfingers with baked beans and I can't think of anything else that I can do for her I want something I can freeze in DD sized portions iyswim.

I made carrot, coriander & lentil soup yesterday and was just about to bung a stock cube in (low salt one from Boots) and I noticed out of the corner of my eye its not suitable for her so put water in instead and it was so bland she didn't like it.

madmouse · 23/01/2009 21:30

you make me your friend, i then get to confirm and tell you who all the other mumsnetters are and they will make you their friend, I will also invite you to the mumsnet group. And send you a message with who is who which I did for Lilyloo the other day. But that will be a private message for obvious reasons

so go on find me!

OP posts:
simpson · 23/01/2009 21:38

Found you

Think/hope asked for you to be my friend (pretty please!!)

simpson · 23/01/2009 21:47

So how do you use facebook then?

Whats the difference between sending a message via in box or on someones wall?

madmouse · 23/01/2009 21:47

simpson facebook all done

gals pull your finger out and confirm Simpson please

oh making stock is the easiest thing:

next time you roast a chicken, bung the carcass in a big pan with giblets if you have, a quartered onion, a large carrot in big pieces, some celery if you have, a bay leaf and some herbs. cover with cold water, bring to the boil, simmer for an hour, strain and if you want to boil to concentrate. no need for stock cubes and no additives. freezes for ages.

try red lentils cooked in stock with some veg, Nathan likes with curry spices (he's like that) and boiled egg.

make risotto? It does not need diary, creaminess comes from risotto rice well stirred while cooking.

OP posts:
Lilyloo · 23/01/2009 21:48

ooh Simps you gonna share some photos ??

Might even have to venture back to fb , twice in a week

madmouse · 23/01/2009 21:49

simpson important difference: many people can see what you write on someone's wall, your friends, their friends and their friends' friends.

always send a private message via inbox. wall is for fun chat

OP posts:
simpson · 23/01/2009 21:50
