MM - I hope you are feeling a little better now. As i've said I think men are still stuck in the dark ages and automatically think that the women will deal the kids.
I do hope you give him a kick up the backside so he sorts it next time. The alternative is the disconnect the internet lol

madmouse · 20/01/2009 21:31

believe me I have on occassions considered it, but how will I MN then???

LuckySalem · 20/01/2009 21:32

Its ok he'll get naggy and go upstairs/to the pub/"insert correct excuse here" so you then reconnect it and come back to us

simpson · 20/01/2009 21:33

Madmouse - love the pics especially the one of Nathan eating cake

LaTrucha · 20/01/2009 21:37

MM - sorry DH is being . You have very cute pictures though!

Gingeme - Can see why yuo're . They should not have said 'yes' if they didn't mean it. They should make an effort anyway.

Can I just ask a quick question? DCs cannot go in the next size up car seat until they're 9k right? MIL just phoned me very excited because they bought a car seat the next size up, thinking they'd been all clever working it out.

madmouse · 20/01/2009 21:44

LaT yes re car seat. Nathan is still too light too. We have bought one in the sales for when we need it.

Looked at the Rospa website and they say it is not how soon you can move them but how long you can keep them in the infant seat, because that is the safest seat. either until they are nine kilos or until their head no longer fits inside the hood. bending their legs a bit is fine apparently.

Must say I can't wait til he goes forward facing. and he fits so well in the new chair, but safety first.

Have just put DD in front facing car seat (was Xmas present from my mum) although she is not over the weight yet, her head was just about over the top of the old one.

Have to say, she loves it and she and DS (he in car seat too obviously) sit there holding hands

LuckySalem · 20/01/2009 22:00

DD's been in her front seat for a while now and she LOVES it too.

Going to Chester Zoo tomorrow if the weather is nice as I raided my change jar yesterday to find £38 if weather is horrid i'm trying to find something that would last a day indoors. DP wants blackpool but I dont think i've got enough money for that. lol

Lilyloo · 20/01/2009 22:03

What about Blackpool tower ?

It is snowing over here though!!!!!!!!!

LuckySalem · 20/01/2009 22:05

Its the thought of the cost of blackpool. we'd have to pay for fuel, however much it costs for blackpool tower, cost of amusements (cos we'd HAVE to ) so I'm thinking it'd be a no.

simpson · 20/01/2009 22:27

Hope the weather is nice for you then you will get to go to the zoo

We took DS to London zoo in the summer and he loved it.

A getting old enough to look at all the animals etc...

JustKeepSwimming · 21/01/2009 05:44

Thanks for the tips for London - think we are going to try TGI fridays in covent garden rather than the rainforest place - though i want to go there one day, maybe when the boys are older.

H woke up at 5.10 he was born at 4am so it could have worse i guess
Thought i might get tearful about today and remembering but i'm not - though of course i'm hardly awake yet

I was certainly NOT a happy bunny this time a year ago

Got lots to do today and H being off schedule won't help. DH is here so should be a help ...except...he did his back in playing football yesterday at work
and he STILL has a cough & cold, men, hmph!

Madmouse - that was naughty of your dh and i hope he has realised that. sometimes they can't see how what they do upsets others, not intentionally i don't think.
Oh and don't beat yourself up about the can - a) sorry much worse may happen one day! and b) they will find something to hurt themselves on regardless, whether it's a wall, the door, a toy, etc.

Lucky - have a lovely day - if the weather holds out for you!

H has been in his forward facing seat a while now too - reached the 20lbs and was so much happier when we tested him in it. i know that all the advice says to keep them rear-facing as long as poss but...

LaT - hope you doing ok?

So most of you think that i did ok with ds1 then? Gingeme - what could/should i have done differently?
DH will mention it to him when he (hopefully) takes him this morning but we won't take a book. i mean they must be used to things getting broken right?
I'm sure worse will happen as time goes on but this is the first time i feel that i've been told off through my children. ah well, better develop a tougher skin i suppose

anyway, morning all

LaTrucha · 21/01/2009 08:58

Happy Birthday Henry!

Is it trip day today JKS? If so, have a fab time.

I feel really awkward about the car seat because they're being so nice. But Saftey First - you are right!

Lilyloo · 21/01/2009 11:29

Happy Birthday Henry

simpson · 21/01/2009 12:00

Happy Birthday Henry Don't get too emotional JKS

Well, I have braved it and rung the hospital all ready for round (I have lost count ) 3 or 4.

DD is still not right and found out from a RL friend of mine whose DD is 18mths and intolerant to dairy that she turned up to her appt at same hospital but different consultant to be offered blood tests straight away to see if there were an other problems. Grrr

Why wasn't DD given this?? Wanker Consultant is off today so will call tomorrow.

Seeing a dietician on 12th Feb but what is the point if I don't know what DD can't eat???

And breathe rant over

Lilyloo · 21/01/2009 12:18

Oh Simps sorry dd still not right.
Are you going to demand blood tests before you see dietician ?
Is it expensive to pay for them yourself ? ( although you shouldn't have to)

simpson · 21/01/2009 12:25

Lilyloo - when consultant does finally ring yes am going to demand blood tests.

She has been ok today but yesterday morning about half an hour after getting up big poo explosion all up back etc with undigested food in (sorry TMI) which apparently if it happens a lot which it does is a sign that her bodies enzymes aren't breaking food down properly. This has happens loads of times lately, it does not distress her at least but obviously something is not right.

Also another rant sorry...we have just worked hard to cut down our sky package and they have just written to us and have whacked it up by a fiver!! May have to call cable and see how much they are....

Lilyloo · 21/01/2009 12:31

Poor thing i can't believe it is taking so long and is so difficult to sort out for her.

What's the sky gone up for ? We haven't heard anything.

Put couple of piccies on of M birthday on my profile , one with me on which is a rarity i hate being on camera.

simpson · 21/01/2009 12:35

Sky has gone up by £5 they say its the broadband cost. But i thought it was free

I really don't want to ring them or I will lose the will to live....

Love the pics!! Is Martha trying to climb off the rocker? She does love to climb

Lilyloo · 21/01/2009 12:37

Broadband is free ???

Yes no surprise there , i think she allergic to sitting still Everything is a challenge to try and get off or out of!!!!!!!!

simpson · 21/01/2009 12:39

Our broadband was free because we have the sport channels/kids channels so spend a fair bit with them anyway.

Maybe its because we had got bill down to £38 a month and now they have just added a fiver on

LOL at Martha being allergic to sitting still

mixedmamameansbusiness · 21/01/2009 12:40

Happy bday Henry.

JKS- think you did absolutely the right thing with DS1.

Gingeme - yeah we are big on bdays too, but DH doesnt even know anyone in his families bday, but we have his little (9 year old sisters) bday party on sat.... should be fun altho a little really do i have to spend another whole day there, but hey ho. Very impressed with Pizza Express plum jars... i have a 2 for 1 voucher so may make a trip.

Simpson - still have not booked. Am trying to decide whether to bring one or two of them. Sorry about the docs, hope it gets sorted.

MM - sorry your DH was being difficult, pics were fab...nathan has amazing eyes. Beautiful.

Not much happening here. DS2 teething so badly, his cheeks are almost raw with redness never had any of this with DS1. He is cruising alot but showing no interest in walker and seems to really dislike his walker. He has also taken to vomitting over the last two days and not sleeping hardly at all.

Development on the holiday is my dad is now saying he has made some money on investments this year and will provide spending money as well so we dont have to spedn anything. I mentioned in passing last night and DH just rolled his eyes. Not sure what would be a good enough reason to put my dad off or encourage DH to go... bit lost either way.

Lilyloo · 21/01/2009 12:42

We have basic package , no movies , sport or disney channels
have cbeebies but think that's free anyway
we get free broadband costs about £28 a month i think

Lilyloo · 21/01/2009 12:45

MM just looking at everyones piccies and it's amazing how N seems to have become a little boy so quickly!
It doesn't seem a sobvious when they are your own but seeing N piccies he really is a little boy now not a baby anymore!
And love your piccies at centre parks JKS of the boys at the patio doors

Mixedm sorry the hol thing causing such a problem. Can you not go on your own with boys ?
