HAppy birthday MArtha - hope you're having a good time Lily -

LOL Gingeme !

Mixedmama - how's the other business going?

mixedmamameansbusiness · 18/01/2009 16:16

happy bday martha...

the other business i think when tues comes and mum is here just going to suggest E goes with DH wont say no he never does to getting a little more sleep then just gradually say that it was a good idea.

the thing is i dont want dh to think he doesnt deserve a break aswell. he just finds it slightly boring there... he isnt really into sunbathing and the beach is all there is to occupy in the day and there is a fun fair and some bars and one disco in the mountains. might see whether i can get my cousin to commit to coming as him and his wife are moving to OZ and wanted to come to our house before they go in oct if he comes then i am sure dh could be convinced. he might let us go by ourselves we stayed for a month this year and he only came for 2 weeks, but just dont want my dad interferring with the decision process... he isnt tackful... will have a word and make sure he leaves it to me. it is great for the kids.... sami would not leave the water and loved it.

JKS - managed to get him out of nappies whilst we there in august.

simpson · 18/01/2009 17:16

Am in total at how much DD has just eaten for tea!!

3 plum pots but with home cooked food in from freezer, hipp organic peach pudding, fruitapura pot, 2 slices of toast, a biscuit, 10 blue berries, 10 raspberries!!

Her little tummy is all sticking out now

Rockdoctor - Is it tomorrow you find out about job? Good luck....

Mixed mama - Guess its a question of finding the right words ie that you know DH needs a holiday as well but it might not be his cup of tea etc...

Gingeme · 18/01/2009 18:07

Simpson wouldn't want to change that nappt tommorrow !!

simpson · 18/01/2009 18:40

LOL neither would I

Hopefully I won't have to as DH up with them in morning so as long as she poos before he leaves for work at 11.30am it will be him

Knowing my luck she will fill nappy at 11.35!!

Gingeme · 18/01/2009 19:31

Hi Everyone - am totally in awe of the food some of your LOs are tucking away.

Is it true at Blooming Marvellous has gone under? I actually bought a bit of their stuff when I was pregnant and when DD was tiny, didn't think they were that bad. Just goes to show...

madmouse · 18/01/2009 20:51

Hi all

Nathan in bed exhausted too.

He has not eaten slept or drank enough today, but had a whale of a time and has been smiling and laughing at everybody.

He did not cry when the water was poured over his head and he allowed the rector to carry him al through the church after it to formally say hello to the church family. That was so funny, rector (dh's boss) said 'Nathan this is your family in Christ, some are nuts, some are diamonds, some are diamonds looking like nuts, dig deep and you find the diamonds'

Nathan did insist on bringing a huge yellow maraca to the font that he had been busy shaking during the singing. Rector said Nathan has brought a big yellow maraca, he is saying you put that water over my head and I put this thing over yours

I sang my song and it went really well, got lots of lovely comments after.

We had a great lunch at home, 19 adults and 5 children. The ham looked fab, will put pics of ham, cake and baby eating cake (not sure about it) on facebook soon.

Parents still here. Will be back in my usual style soon

Pictures please too!!

If you have any suitable toys for DS, let me know!! preferably ones that make noise!!

MrsMcJnr · 18/01/2009 21:23

Happy birthday Martha Lily ? hope you all had a lovely day

Uggg Gingeme ? what a mess!

Madmouse ? glad it all went so well

Lucky ? I only discovered after I had a MC before DS that I have a blood clotting disorder and should never take/have taken hormone contraception because of the increased risk of DVTs and strokes, I?d been on the pill for 18 years anyway, whilst I was TTC the baby I lost and DS I got to know my body really well using Dr Weschler?s method of taking your temp daily, watching for fertility signs etc. So far I have not used it to avoid getting pg but fully intend to in the future. Let me know if you?d like more details. It is really easy when you get the hang of it.

LaTrucha · 18/01/2009 21:31

Sounds like some lovely days today!

Wow - DD can really eat, can't she Simpson? Must be nice.

DB has just asked if he can stay until next weekend. We have said no as we had told him before that we need at least a week to get the house ready for going away - which we actually do. We're still trying to make the best of it. DH and I could really have done with this month on our own having a more relaxed tim ethan usual. Instead it has been very stressful and DH has been behind with work because of trips to see DB in hospital. We're frazzled. He's a pretty diificult person to live with. DB really did need help though so ho hum....

Sabela is back to kissing big time! She is beginning to take steps only holding on hand now.

LuckySalem · 18/01/2009 21:39

hello all,

MM - glad christening went well.

Me and Dp just been talking and ....... we're gonna try for DC2 now and then get married in a few years as we dont want the gap to be big between DC1 and 2 (this isn't set in stone cos he keeps saying different things)
One of the things we've def decided on is either DC this year or wedding this year.

I'm dead excited...

Wound my parents up today. Went to my aunties for the day and she rang my parents to say "guess what, aaliyah just took her first steps" lol. Was sooo funny!

LuckySalem · 18/01/2009 21:40

oh sorry HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARTHA

LuckySalem · 18/01/2009 21:43

and also simps talking of eating alot.

DD has had today
BREAKFAST - 1 weetabix and a banana
LUNCH - Sunday dinner, Ice cream with wafer and half packet of crisps
DINNER - Half a sunday dinner again.

simpson · 18/01/2009 22:13

Oooh Lucky how exciting

What kind of age gap would you like?

DD has a very big breakfast too. Pretty much an adult sized bowl of porridge and some fruit but never eats much for lunch. Maybe a third of a jar....

LaT glad you are being firm with DB.

Will he move back to his place?

JustKeepSwimming · 19/01/2009 06:54

Madmouse - so glad you all had a lovely day and that your song went well mad brave woman!

LaT - hope Db moves out without any problems for you. you have really done your bit for now and need to sort your lives out. So when do you move exactly? and i forget, sorry, i know you're going to Spain, but why and for how long?
Make sure you get internet connection sorted over there asap so we don't lose you!

Lucky - that is all exciting! Both are exciting (& expensive, lol).

Right, pretty sure i'll be driving to meetup, think getting H & I to Euston for that 9.45 train will be a challenge, then getting home again in the evening. If it were just me i could do it, but coming in the car at least he can sleep both ways.
So, just need to look at parking.
But put my name on the list!

good night last night, there was some crying at 1am, i shot out of bed, but didn't even go into the boys room as all was quiet by the time i got there. DS1 up at 6 on the dot.
Nursery & work today. Hoping to tidy that office big time (i'm a clear desk kind of person and other woman who works there isn't but will let e tidy around her, lol!).

JustKeepSwimming · 19/01/2009 07:12

Gingeme - need advice re trip to london this weekend.
Have all day Sunday, friends are joining us from Surrey.
there will be 4 adults, 4 children:
4yrs, 2x2.5yr olds & 1yr.

Thinking of Transport Museum at 10am. will we spend 2 hours there?
wanted to try the rainforest cafe for lunch but read bad stuff on here about it.
tgi's?
somewhere else?
obv needs to be v child=friendly.

what do any ofyou londonrs think? h's birthdy outing! holding h and typing one/left handed!

Gingeme · 19/01/2009 09:45

Morning ladies.
JKS sounds like you have the day sotred already. Covent Garden has a craft market thingy on Sundays. Its under cover so would be ok in the rain. London Transport museum is brill. Never been to Rainforest Cafe so can't advise on that but again lots of cafes and bistros around Covent Garden. There is also a Disney store in Covent Garden.
Had a good night here too. George slept till 4am had a bottle and slept till 7.18. Woke briefly at 2am cause he had his arm stuck in the bars but soon settled again.
Is anyones lo into climbing now? Is it just George because he has 2 big brothers to follow. He climbed up onto ds3's bed this morning and sat bouncing looking very pleased with himself .
Not much doing here today. Got to put new shelves up in the boys room. They got soooooo many books for Christmas between them they need a whole new shelf !

Housemum · 19/01/2009 10:55

Morning - only skimmed as really need to be getting on! Am sorting the outgrown clothing - she's just out of the 6-9 month stuff! - so am pricing it up for the NCT sale. Uncharacteristically organised of me - the sale isn't until first week of March, I usually end up throwing thins in boxes the night before. My New Year resolution is to deal with things straight away, and to declutter. Not easy with a teenager whose filing system is the floor, and a 5 year old who can't part with anything...

Rainforest Cafe - not keen, I always spend more than I intend to when I go there as the food's quite expensive (not been to London one, but have been to Disney Paris and a Chicago one) and there is the nag factor of the shop with t-shirts/toys/crap. Also, there's the risk that LOs might get spooked by the "thunder" - never bothered DD2 when she was younger, but some friends have said their DD hated the noise.

Transport Museum - haven't been for a few years but really enjoyed it when I went with DDs 1 & 2.

LuckySalem · 19/01/2009 11:45

Hey all,

Well we're thinking the age gap to be around 2 years so that'll work out ok. If we were to get married when we were thinking of it (aug 2010) then even if I fell pregnant on that night its still gonna be around 3/4 years gap and that's too big a gap for us, we need to get married and/or pregnant this year. Just dont know which one! lol

LuckySalem · 19/01/2009 11:52

MEETUP !!!

Does anyone mind if we make it earlier than 1pm? only we'll need to leave around 3/4 and that desn't really leave alot of time with you all.

I was thinking 11/12 if anyone can do that?

simpson · 19/01/2009 11:57

Would be cheaper to initially get pg especially if you have kept all of A's stuff.

The only thing we had to buy was a double buggy.

Our age gap is 2.4yrs. I wanted the age gap smaller but it took about 8mths to get pg with DD.

DD's new Vtech toy arrived this morning so am going to wrap it up and give it to her for her birthday.

LuckySalem · 19/01/2009 11:59

Simps thats my worry, it took 2 years for DD (although admittedly we weren't trying very hard for her) so I'm worried it'll take taht long again.
