Am v impressed with the Council i must say

They promised the old lady that a new tree would be planted - she even offered to pay! but the man said no, it will be replaced asap. Hope it is as it means a lot to her.
Well and makes the street look better for everyone but that's not so important.

The in between neighbour apparently saw a white van driving off but didn't get the number plate so don't think anything can be done, b*stard!

simpson · 14/01/2009 17:33

Hi guys!!

Having a bit of a mare trying to book ticket, the cheapest is coming up £38.90 which is a bit more than I want to spend TBH.

Only virgin trains seem to go to Coventry...but going to keep looking!!

simpson · 14/01/2009 17:52

Don't think we are going to get it any cheaper so may have to bite the bullet...

Even the coach is £39...

Lilyloo · 14/01/2009 19:57

ooh that is expensive Simps!!

Gingeme it's on a Sat!!

Not sure i can make it now anyway as we finally got car back tonight and it came to the grand total of £900!!!
Had to put it on an old cc and am very worried about making ends meet , we are struggling now without paying for this and my mat pay and reduced tc!

Think i am going to have to apply for soe night shifts at local supermarket!!

simpson · 14/01/2009 20:13

Lilyloo - £900!!

That is awful!! I would expect car to be gold plated for that!!

madmouse · 14/01/2009 20:29

oh dear simpson and lily

does not sound good on the financial front, I do so hope we can still meet, i am so excited about it now.

have just checked trains

Simpson, JKS, Mixedmama, if you are prepared to spend a bit longer on the train you can travel for a tenner return! With London Midlands straight from Euston to Coventry.
Leave Euston 9.46-arrive 11.28
Leave Coventry 16.01- London 17.49
Buy two advance singles for £5 each or a supersaver return for £15.

Lily, if money stops you coming can I contribute. I am the one with no travel costs and I so want to see you

I have taken an executive decision and I think we should meet in Purple Planet. Nice idea to meet at my house but PP is much more fun for the older kids and it will be less of a headache in terms of transport. If we want a place for lunch/drinks Coventry proudly boasts a city centre Ikea with the usual cheap cheerful child friendly restaurant.

Lily parking in Coventry is not too bad, I will go on a recce beforehand to see what parking is like at PP, but there are plenty of car parks.

Nathan and I will meet the train travellers at the station
Anyway I have kinda taken an executive decision and

Took ds3 to the dentist today. His teth are just fine He had a look at mine and is stumped why the anti biotics havn't worked Hes given me some gel to rub on it for a week. If nothing I'll have to have it removed
DH will be working on the day of the meet up. Does anyone fancy doing a meet up in London? Dh is off 8-21st of Feb?
George is walking holding on with one hand now. He ends up going sideways though. Like a little crab

madmouse · 14/01/2009 20:35

simpson · 14/01/2009 21:13

Madmouse

That train time not coming up and only seems to be virgin trains from Euston!!

Don't know what I am doing wrong...

madmouse · 14/01/2009 21:18

go to www.rail.co.uk
select timetables on the net
type euston and coventry in to from boxes
select 28/2/09 out 9.45
select 28/2/09 return 16.00

should come up with London Midland

then select tickets/ cost
when shown ticket prices select see single fares in right hand corner of fare table.

hope it works this time

OP posts:
simpson · 14/01/2009 21:39

It kept coming up with the virgin price but went to "find cheapest fare" on left hand side.

Ok... have ticket to Coventry just got to do it all again for return!!

Can understand why they don't make it easy to find the cheap fare as they want you to pay £40

simpson · 14/01/2009 21:56

Woo hoo have got my tickets!!

Cost £5 plus £1 booking fee each way.

Saw the £5 tickets for virgin but they were all sold out!!

madmouse · 14/01/2009 21:57

woohhoooooo

Hey ladies, one more sleep until my 20 week scan and now I keep worrying that I am not feeling her moving enough, I wish I could just relax over scans but I am always like this, especially important ones like this one!

Tomorrow should have been mine and DS?s birthdays! We shared a due date but I was born on 29/12 and as you know DS was born on 24/1!

Simpson ? breaks my heart when DS cries in his sleep yay, you got your meet up tickets!!

Hey Angechica

Lily - £900!!

Lucky ? that?s ok Spain is generous on some things but the bureaucracy to get these things is a total nightmare!

LaT ? we might be able to meet after all then you are such a star looking after your DB.

JKS ? your poor neighbour that?s great that the Council have acted so quickly though.

Gingeme ? hope you have a better night!

Bumped into a friend with her 2 kids today (girl of 7, boy of 5) DS was in buggy very sleepy but perked up when they came along. The little girl was treating him like a doll, covering him in his muslin, tucking in his teddy etc, DS loved it and let her do what she liked. The little boy kept touching DS?s nose and he seemed to like his attention too, it was really sweet to watch!

JustKeepSwimming · 15/01/2009 08:15

MrsMc - GOOD LUCK at the scan hopefully you can start to relax a little more afterwards?

MUST get myself organised for meet-up, have looked at the trains and that is def a possibility
(paranoid voice now saying though, what if we meet at euston but don't get on, then we have hours of awkwardness on the train, ok i know i'm ridiculous but ....)

Anyway, Dh is relaxed whatever i do, he wants to spend some time just him and ds1 so may stay in london fri night, then come up sat morning...i'm so indecisive.
Bt i'm more than a maybe

simpson · 15/01/2009 08:28

Mrs Mcjnr - good luck today, let us know how you get on...

JKS - LOL at us not getting on, we don't even know what each other looks like!!

Thibk we will be fine though as we do "know" each other pretty well.

I just have to beg ask my mother nicely to have DS overnight as DH is at work.

mixedmamameansbusiness · 15/01/2009 08:54

Haha JKS at not getting on... we have met before... do you not like me

i saw the £10 tickets when i checked yesterday - just got to mention it to DH then will book. so exciting.

Ginge - am up for a london meet. i can understand that travelling with3 under 5 is hard. wont be the same u r the queen of meet ups.

by the way i spoke to barristermmum on fb as she was in contact with filly but hasnt heard from her in some time and has lost her num ber.

will mention meet up to amani as she lives in birmingham.

simpson · 15/01/2009 09:07

Hopefully Filly will check in on Tamara'a birthday, 29th Jan.

Then we can all shout at her say hello

MrsMcJnr · 15/01/2009 10:16

Thanks for the good wishes

Mixedmama - please say hello to Barristermum, Filly and Amani for me, tell them we miss them over here

Housemum · 15/01/2009 11:45

Morning! V of meet-up - I will be driving DH to the airport/taking DD2 to dancing/tearing my hair out in the afternoon and thinking of you!!

Teething - anyone trying one of those hippy-dippy amber necklaces? Have just ordered one off eBay - figured if nothing else it's a pretty enough necklace! It's supposed to work by the natural healing properties of amber if you wear it next to the skin - the clasp is magnetic so it will break apart if she catches it on something (I can just see Amelie pulling it off on purpose and chucking it under the sofa but it was only £5!) I'll let you know how it goes when it arrives... (Am v sceptical - have posted a thread but not many replies)

LuckySalem · 15/01/2009 12:13

Just quickly cos DP is off for a week and I wont be able to get online much.

HELLO!!

DD's birthday tomorrow and we're not ready!! lol.

Speak to you soon and i'm really glad that it seems a few of us will be able to go!

BACK TO THE CLEANING>

Gingeme · 15/01/2009 12:30

Afternoon ladies.
Thankyou mixedmamma. London meet up soon then?
Have had an expensive morning. What with having my nails done, popped into my dentist to get this gel and special brush £9.80. Popped into the optician to see if she would look at my eye. Do you remember when George grazed my eye just before Christmas? well I wake up in the am and my eye feels extremely sore like it did. Had an eye test anyway as its been about a year £20 and some false tears as its where my eye is drying out £4 ! Had to pay for ds4's playgroup today £15 so I now have about £1.50 left
Anyway George has been trotting around holding on with one hand now, big smile on his face . Its only a matter of time now!
Well off to make some lunch now.
Have a good day all xxx

Lilyloo · 15/01/2009 13:26
