Lucky - thats the thing that I don't like about MN. You can't comment on anything without being jumped on especially when it comes to weaning/FF/BFing etc.

I remember getting stressed about how much DS ate as a baby (not forcing him to eat when he didn't want to though) as I was worried he wouldn't go through night etc and with DD I am much more chilled about it.

DD good eater on the whole, but she very rarely eats much for lunch...maybe a quarter of a large jar of hipp organic...

Right LADIES LISTEN UP

Seriously - do you want to do a meetup? Where abouts is everyone who wants to come and i'll plot you all on a map and find the mid ground. We need to seriouly sort this cos it keeps getting mentioned but not sorted and I want to meet all the gorgeous babies.

I'm Basingstoke - RG22

Anyone likely to be around Latimer Road area of London tomorrow? Impromptu I know but I'm going to take DD3 to a casting in Bramley Rd then might see what Bramley's Adventure place is like (unless any of you West London mums tell me it's awful!).

Thanks Housemum & others re buggy info - i like the Fizz

We currently have:

  • a P&T (bought 2nd hand off Ebay)
  • a M&P 3-in-1 thingy (given to us by a friend of MIL)
  • a M&P Aria stroller (bought new, but falling apart, crap)
  • a twin Bruin (i think?) (bought 2nd hand from a friend)

But a lightweight single buggy is needed. the aria really is crap and not that light anyway.

Re breech babies - there are still MWs who are experienced in breech delivery and if you are lucky and get one, you might stand a chance at a VB.
BUT....decades ago an unsound study was carried out (in Canada i think) that deemed that the safest outcome for breech babies was a c-s and that advice was taken on board in a sweeping way (study has now been discredited) meaning that most MWs are not experienced and have no clue what to do with a breech baby other that phone an ambulance

My 'normal' community MW actually has delivered a few breech babies at home, being in the wrong place at the right time, she said. In fact she said she would support a hospital VB with a breech baby if i chose that in the future. Hosp not home though as she said most breech babies come out needing some help.

anyhoo, DS1 wasn't breech so no physical reason why DC3 will be....

LuckySalem · 12/01/2009 21:44

right ok so far its looking like solihull/coventry/birmingham types is the middle of most people.

LuckySalem · 12/01/2009 21:45

JKS - Freecycle for single buggy!! There's always loads going on my local one

JustKeepSwimming · 12/01/2009 21:46

SS1

Mooncups really - i was soooo ewwww before. don't know why i even bought one tbh, then was pg then had to gather courage and try it. and really it's not eww at all.

If you were in a public loo (and i have to admit have only done mine at home or in a loo with a sink) with no sink then you can just empty into the loo and reinsert, either wiping with a bit of loo roll or with a wipe if you have any in your handbag (let's face it, most of the time we have a nappy bag with us right?).

LuckySalem · 12/01/2009 21:49

Just noticed that that is RIGHT by simpson - how did that happen! lol.

Still solihull, Its about 4 hours for me to there and about 3 hours for you London lot to there so seems about right?

LuckySalem · 12/01/2009 22:02

Oh dont run away from me now ladies!! Lets organise it!

LuckySalem · 12/01/2009 22:04
