If she has her sleep in cot at home I would say she sleeps at least an hour and a half but if out and about in buggy she won't sleep that long.

TBH I wish she would still have 2 naps as when she slept in the afternoon 3.30ish for 45 mins it gave me time to get teas ready for Dcs and also without sleep in the afternoon she gets really ratty by about 5ish.

Gingeme · 09/01/2009 12:21

Afternoon ladies. It would seem I have an absess got 5 days of strong anti biotics. Dentist reckons its not that far gone so should be cleared up with the anti b's if not I will probably have to have an extraction.
Apart from that all is well. George woke at 12.13 and let me shush him back to slepp where he slept till 4.18 had a bottle and slept till 7.34
Giong shopping soon for party food and a cake. Got quite a few people coming tomm. Just seen my rl friend who is due on the 14th. She is so fed up now. Remember being like that?
Well thats about it for now.
Take care all xx

MrsMcClaus · 09/01/2009 12:36

Poor you Ginge! Hope you get some relief from the toothache soon.

Madmouse ? ah, I do feel for you, I was so sad when DS self weaned though it must be much worse for you because you of course want to give your baby what he wants and that?s still you!

Simpson ? thanks for the good wishes for the scan next week, getting nervous about it silly I know but I always do. The post in the UK seems very slow at the mo, I got cards and parcels posted on 29th Dec and they are only just getting to their destination. No harm in giving them a call to let them know the charm still hasn?t arrived though.

Simpson & Lily ? I think MN has changed quite a lot since I started posting in June 2006, it?s not as friendly as it was and if I start a thread somewhere I am always worried that I?ll get flamed, sad isn?t it? How can people be bothered to be trolls, surely there are more interesting things to do with your time?

Lily ? I find DS still needs a morning and an afternoon sleep. He sometimes sleeps for up to 2 hours at each and if he has a day like that he generally sleeps all night otherwise he wakes up sometime between 2.30 and 5 and it?s really hard to get him back down. He only sleeps well in his cot now too as he likes to sleep on his tummy so he generally only sleeps for 30 mins max in his buggy which just isn?t enough for him. I try never to wake him up and to always put him down at 10.45 in the morning and 3 in the afternoon regardless of the night he?s had. Doesn?t always work out but I feel I need to persevere. He?s not eating much at the mo due to teething so that may be one of the reasons he wakes in the night as he is thirsty for milk then.

Hey Lucky are you checking our Confetti? That?s a great wedding site!

Hey Housemum

simpson · 09/01/2009 16:03

Hi all

Glad you have got AB's Gingeme hope they work quickly!!

I am sooo excited!! I have a few new foods to try on DD. Managed with the help of MN to track down bread with no soy flour in and have bought custard powder to try her on for puddings and also oat milk which is high in calcium

Going to try and mashed rusk with oat milk for her pudding this evening

LaTrucha · 09/01/2009 16:40

Am still here but it's hard to post. DB still here and will be for a while more. Diagnosed with psychosis, alcoholism and clinical depression now

Sabela just said her first word apart from mama, dada or hiya - BABA!

Sorry about tooth Gingeme - see I am reading!

mixedmama · 09/01/2009 16:47

LaTrucha - my brother has been diagnosed with psycosis and depression in the past.. he has finally been diagnosed as schizophrenic and it has been a very very hard time, he also had alcohol problems. If you need to chat just let me know I know how hard this can be.

rockdoctor · 09/01/2009 19:25

Hi all

Quick post but I'm trying to keep up. Is it still freezing where you are? Had to be one of the coldest days so far here - was still minus 3 when I went out at 9am.

Sorry about the tooth Gingeme, my 9am appointment was for a root canal treatment that I need to go back for again next week. It started as an infection just before Christmas and thankfully the antibiotics did enough to get me through Christmas but now I have to have something done to fix it properly.

La Trucha, sorry to hear about your brother. I don't have any experience with that sort of thing but am thinking of you.

Mrs Mc - I really hope everything goes well with the scan, it's so exciting. Are you going to find out if it's a boy or a girl (or do you know already?)

Well, no interest in walking or sleeping here - some days it's two short sleeps, some days one longer sleep which is usually in the car. I think we're in transition on that front but I'm not sure what they're meant to be doing at this stage. Bedtime is still a challenge despite our attempts at routine. The talking is amazing though. I can't believe how much she understands and she's trying to mimic everything. Recognisable "words" include up, bird, bump, bounce and pub

Anyway, hello to everyone else and I'm trying to keep up, honest!

mixedmama · 09/01/2009 19:39

OMG I just realised that MrsMc is pregnant again...congrats.

So how many is that that are expectign number two... so brave.

MrsMC- I didnt get a chance to answer the other day but i have an age gap of 23 months, DS1 turned 2 6 weeks after ds2 was born. Are you and Nicky on the same thread?

JustKeepSwimming · 09/01/2009 19:51

H: (pointing) 'in dere'....

madmouse · 09/01/2009 20:29

Hi all

Well,we have done it, Nathan is asleep without bf. That's it then. Idiotically easy too. Last night he was so upset about having half a feed, tonight he was fine. One concession: I have postponed his leg stretches to the morning. They upset him so much that he goes blind for booby after. I will do them tomorrow morning instead of evening and he should be ok by Sunday. We had lots of cuddles, occassionally he would root and cry for a few seconds, then start kissing me or fondling my hair and chatting in my neck (sweet). When he got very sleepy I carried him to his gcot and put him in his grobag and he cried for a few seconds then went to sleep, smiling .

Not so perfect timing af arrived today, hope I do not get too hormonal.

Welcome back JKS enjoy the vino.

LaT you seem depressed, life must be hard, how is Sabela sleeping?

Rockdoctor how are you coping? Rootcanal, yuck. My worst not so serious fear.

Simpson let us know how you go with the new foods. Do you have a breadmaker? It is very easy to make very good bread for dd.

Ginge happy birthday for George tomorrow.

Waves at everyone else

Lucky where are you? Do I need to come and pluck you off facebook again?

OP posts:
MrsMcJnr · 09/01/2009 20:37

Gingeme ? glad you got the Abs. Happy Birthday to George for tomorrow!

Simpson ? hope the new food goes down well with DD

LaT ? is Sabela trying to tell you something? Sorry you are having a hard time and that DB is suffering as he is. We are here for you x

Rockdoctor ? that doesn?t sound fun at the dentist you poor thing. Thanks for the good wishes for the scan. Yes, we know what we are having ? a little girl this time I?m with you on being amazed at what our little ones understand, DS surprises me every day but your DD has an amazing amount of words!

Thanks Mixedmama I?m due 30 May and Nicky is due in July. I think Rubysmum is due ahead of me though. There are 23 months between my sister and I, we?ve always been very close

JKS hello! Hope the smiley chart gets you more sleep! I?m impressed with your DS?s words too. My favourite things DS does is putting on voices, he has a phone voice when he plays with his toy mobile (very sing-songey) and a reading voice when he looks at books (which is very dull )

Madmouse ? well done hon

simpson · 09/01/2009 21:00

Madmouse - well done for getting to a year with Nathan

Started a thread yesterday entitled "Idiots guide to breadmaking"

Mrs Mcjnr - LOL at Xavier's different voices!! DD just has high pitched squeal....maybe its a girl thing

JKS - LOL at H and the fire

LaT - thinking of you...

simpson · 09/01/2009 21:00

Meant to say getting to a yr BFing with Nathan!!

Lilyloo · 09/01/2009 21:21

Happy birthday for George for tommorrow and Ediz for Sunday if i don't get back on over the weekend

Where did the year go

So it's Angel(i think) , Aaliyah and Martha next week then ?

MM think you are a few weeks ahead of me r/e ending bf and your posts have really made me feel much better about the transition. Well done on doing it for a whole year

Mixedm and Lat so sorry to hear about your brothers. Hopefully you can help one another.

JKS glad you had good time!

Still no car am thoroughly fed up , dp having a mare at work and has to work tom so my lie in gone! Tax credits halving come next month! Oh well am hitting wine tonight!!

JustKeepSwimming · 09/01/2009 21:24

i have had no probs stopping bf with Henry either. Overthought it beforehand but he has hardly been bothered.
Except when he's tired or stressed i can tell he's eyeing up my t-shirt, lol. but is happy to glug down cow's milk, or water, or juice, or anything basically!
His eating has shot up too, not that he was bad before, but now he eats and eats and eats and eats....puts Tom to shame

the major prob, and stil having it, is engorgement. and i stopped gradually. but have always been a high volume producer one side is comfortable at least now but the other is still sore.
last feed was last saturday.

AngeChica · 09/01/2009 21:26

Hi all

Hope the tooth better soon Ginge and that you have a great day for George's birthday. Just think last year you were on that bathroom floor

DS has been in the wars. Cracked his head quite badly yesterday. And today my worst nightmare finally happened when I slipped on the stairs bringing him down from his nap and he slithered out of my arms. Luckily the stair gate broke his fall and there's not a mark on him. I think he just got a fright, me an even bigger one. Although with how clumsy I am, I'm just grateful and rather amazed that I got him to 12 months before I dropped him!

DS has no discernible words yet. Though he says something like more-more when he wants more food or drink. He still needs a morning nap about 2 hours after he gets up and a bigger one in the afternoon. Night time sleep still rubbish though.

Yes where is Lucky... Have you got a wedding thread? I have some tips for you, we did a lot of things ourselves when we planned our wedding - we saved lots of money and made it more personal - result.

Have fallen off the wagon with weight watchers mixed mama but will get going as soon as we've finished off the christmas stash of naughty foods.

thinking of you as well LaTrucha.

You will feel sad Madmouse it's the BF hrmones leaving your system too. Tremendous achievement to all who carried on BF.

the troll stuff passes me by!

hi to everyone else. you know how crap I am at personals.

Oh - just to say I got a nice 3 tog grobag in the Tchibo sale. Mum also got DS some overtrousers from Tchibo for when he's a bit older which will be great for muddy dog walks etc.

madmouse · 09/01/2009 21:27

jks i was mildly sore Monday evening when Nathan had not fed night or morning, but more in the sense of a sigh of relief after the feed. so far no engorgement at all. Not sure how much he was still taking although I could hear him swallow milk.

OP posts:
madmouse · 09/01/2009 21:28

oh ange glad you are both ok

OP posts:
simpson · 09/01/2009 21:34

Ange - that must have been a terrible shock for you Glad you and A ok though.

DS last week tumbled down the stairs...I was busy feeding DD and heard the crash as his head hit the stairgate. My heart was all over the place I can tell you He was fine though

Think DS had the same gro bags from tchibo..they lasted him till he was 2 and a half They also do summer ones for when the weather gets nicer!!

Lilyloo - Having wine here too!! Sorry to hear about tax credits. DH took a salary drop of 8K and I got hardly anything extra from them

AngeChica · 09/01/2009 21:38

Oh thank you MM. I still feel a bit shaken by th fall!

AngeChica · 09/01/2009 21:39

X post Simps.

Lilyloo · 09/01/2009 21:57

Ange glad your ok!!
Interesting about the sleep thing. I think its cach 22 as if they having rubbish sleep at night they shattered couple of hours afte getting up!
I le dd sleep 10.30 until 12.30 today and that was her only sleep.

JKS sorry to hear of soreness i can't even remember it beng too much of an issue with ds or dd1 bit like MM i think!
