mixedmama · 08/01/2009 09:46

simpson/madmouse - i feel tht way with ds1, not the same as you guys but feel like his whole first yr past me by because of my relationship with the ILs but i just intend to make the most of everything else and not let it get the better of me with ds2.

you two ladies are truly an inspiration with ur dedication and drive in such hard circumstances.

countessofmontecristo · 08/01/2009 09:59

You are all very sweet. I might pop in now and again and post, if you're all saying that's ok. Trying to focus on weight loss at the moment, so am currently posting on that thread.
I do read the posts of you all and its so great to hear of the progress of everyone's LO's. I still can't quite believe how fast this past year has gone.
Take care everyone

Lilyloo · 08/01/2009 12:09

Lucky have you tried slimming world ? My il's have lost a lot of weight on that trying to persuade dp as he put on lot's of weight since giving up smoking! Love the wedding venues

MM great news r/e Nathan and the end of bf. Am so glad it hasn't phased him at all Am very at the full nights sleep even if you did wake yourself!

Simpson great news r/e neocate! I wouldn't worry about weight bearing either if she is crawling. As you say she has been so unwell it will take her time to get the hang of it. Although can reccomend the leap frog table we got for xmas dd loves it. at your near fire it can happen so easily! Just caught dd in the nick of time the other day when she was going for oven door Sorry you feeling down hopefully it's af but agree with MM you have invested so much energy in getting her better i suppose it now has to manifest itself in another way!

Ange maybe you need to try another method of contraception if neither of you are ready yet ?
Congrats to A on walking Lucky have you tried slimming world ? My il's have lost a lot of weight on that trying to persuade dp as he put on lot's of weight since giving up smoking!

Nicky i think your right i prob am creating another problem with bottle I know what you mean about the time flying i popped on the new Jan thread the other day and got all gushy!

Mixedm i the same haven't had Martha weighed for ages but she is growing

MrsMc great post! Sorry to hear of the bad night with ds must be really hard when you are pg too and being sick! Hope it eases. I was very sick too with dd1. Hope you can bf for longer with dd.

Gingeme sorry to hear of toothache hope you get it sorted!

Well on bf front and sleep. Martha has done 7-10 bf then until 2 bf then until 7.30 last two nights! Hopefully have broke the cycle so am going to withdraw the 2 am feed fingers crossed!
Am also doing mixture of bottle feeds and bf in the day as she is starting with the pulling my top thing!
Took her to toddler group yesterday she loved it!
Still no car though reason for lack of posting. Am sick of the bus journeys! Hopefully dp car ready today but am very worried how much it is going to cost
Also got a letter asking for my occupational mat pay back due to not returning to work for 13 weeks post mat leave! Don't have the money so going to have to offer to pay in installments!

JustKeepSwimming · 08/01/2009 15:57

Just so you know what i've been up to
here

simpson · 08/01/2009 16:25

JKs - am very

Lilyloo - Baa humbug about the car. Grrr hope it doesn't cost too much to fix. Pain about having to pay back mat leave jsu after Xmas too

Mixed mama & Madmouse - thanks for your kind words. I feel a bit better today. Guess I just have to recognise these feelings and not push them under the carpet so to speak.

Mixed mama - has BIL moved out yet? If not we will do a count down on here

Madmouse - well done Nathan Hope you manage to get more sleep tonight

LaT - Sabela will be walking soon

Have just started a thread in allergies asking if there is any bread DD can have without dairy or soya in and have got some good ideas back so hopefully tomorrow Molly can have a sandwich

mixedmama · 08/01/2009 16:54

Lucky ? I completely missed the wedding venues let me see pllllleeeeeaaase. I love stuff like this. I have lost 2 stone with weight watchers lucky since April.... there is cost involved tho, and i know you are on a budget, so am i but i just sacrifice something else to go to WW cos my weight was really getting me down. I was keen to take it really slowly as I want to keep it off and have 1 more stone to go, but i reckon I could have done the 3 stone if I had stuck to it more rigidly and done more exercise.

Simpson - not yet... lots of letters coming and going but no solid info....am saying end of year then anything before is a bonus.

MrsMcJnr · 08/01/2009 20:16

Hey ladies

Housemum ? like Simpson, I moved DS to his new seat because his head was close to the top. I weighed him today; he was just over 23lbs.

Simpson ? hope you are not feeling as blue, poor you.

Ah Countess ? don?t go! We get so bored of the regulars, it?s so nice to hear from someone else occasionally

Mixedmama ? what?s the age gap between your boys again? Maybe your DH will consider a 3rd when BIL moves out and you have more space! DH and I always agreed before that we?d have 4 but DH is now swithering at more than 3, mind you, that?s very greedy on my part and the most I can wish for at the mo is another beautiful, healthy, affectionate baby like the one I have fabulous weight loss!!

LaT ? go Sabela!

Hello Madmouse what a fabulous sleep Nathan had on Weds night, shame about yours but so typical, that happens to me, good night for him, bad night for me!

Lily ? my DH has been losing weight with HerbalLife, I was cynical before but he looks and feels great. Hope the last day of nursery went well. I know what you mean about the nostalgia, I keep thinking back to this time last year all the time. I have my 20 week scan for this baby on 15/1 which was DS?s due date

Oh, was looking at a lovely website today www.firstbirthdays.co.uk

Gingeme · 08/01/2009 21:06

madmouse.
I was awake lots last night with this bloody toothache Ive never had toothache in my life. Hurting my ear and kneck now too.
Will catch up soon when hot in so much pain.
Have a goodnight all xxx

madmouse · 08/01/2009 21:29

ginge watch out for infection, is that the lymph nodes hurting in your neck?

well, have given my last breastfeed I think. Kept it short. Nathan was not impressed and when I read him his story I think he knew I would not let him back on for more milk and he already started to meep. Took a good 15mins to settle. When I was in the room he madesleepy moany sounds with his eyes closed, he seems to sooth himself by making noises then moving his hand over his lips so it kinda sounds like webbewebbewebbewebbe. But when I was out of the room he howled like a banshee. Made me suddenly want to run in and pick up my little baby and feed him and not stop bf at all . That feeling is logical, but kindof unexpected. This feed was always going to be the really hard one to drop.

Nathan is still in his little car seat too. No idea what he weighs, but I doubt it is enough and he still fits. I would like him to be foreward facing so we can have more contact, but he does not seem too unahppy.

But a new seat a week ago, big babyshop nearby sold off 2008 models cheaply. Got a lovely Britax for £60.

MrsMc and MixedMama it is nice to see you bit more often.

LaTrucha you ok, you are still very quiet on here. How's things with your brother? How often do you bf Sabela now?

OP posts:
simpson · 08/01/2009 21:29

Mixed mama - well done on weight lose

Gingeme - Poor you!! Hope you can get tooth sorted soon.

Mrs Mcjnr - Wow 20wk scan soon!! How exciting!!

Right guys hope you can help

I ordered DD's charm on 30th Dec and its still not here, would you have expected it to arrive by now taking into account Xmas/New Yr etc??

madmouse · 08/01/2009 21:53

simpson how long did they say it would take? It is only just over a week and some companies that are very busy over Christmas are a bit slow to pick up again.

OP posts:
simpson · 08/01/2009 21:56

Madmouse - this is the thing. Normally they say between 7-10 days or something.

But this didn't say anything. I know it was dispatched on 30th Dec as I got email. (Actually ordered it on 28th)

Lilyloo · 08/01/2009 22:01

has anyone seen the babyjjbaby thread ?
Seriously makes me just want to stick to this thread

simpson · 08/01/2009 22:17

Lilyloo - I know what you mean!!

What makes me is that there will be genuine people wanting help and they might be called "troll"

Also Mummytoleon is a troll that someone would make up going into premature labour

Lilyloo · 08/01/2009 22:19

I just think how sad if she is genuinely unstable but even worse if she is a con artist!

And the mummytoleon is sick !!

simpson · 08/01/2009 22:21

What I find rwally awful about this is that now other people are being accused of being trolls like nappyadict and Mrs Snape

Just because some "minor" fact that they posted didin't "add" up. Grrr...

Lilyloo · 08/01/2009 22:24

Do you think people seriously watch what people post and monitor it ??

Why is that 'girl' buying nappies and pushchairs and posting for so long for a teddybear ???????????? She has engaged in lengthy posts and is a recognised mner. Guess it changes what people think is a troll now and it could be anyone.

simpson · 08/01/2009 22:29

The bit that got me was when she said the stuff was for a teddy and don't think badly of her and then she carried on posting about buggies for a bit afterwards!!

It just seems that anyone lately who people on MN have invested a lot of time on ie CVQ or EC is a troll

Lilyloo · 08/01/2009 22:40

It's all a bit too weird for me although i do only generally chat openly on here and then dip in and out of other threads!

Can see why the 'mouldies' thing happened though. I wonder the bigger mnet gets the more prolific 'trolls' will be.

simpson · 08/01/2009 22:45

Too true MN is getting bigger and its very easy to "troll" I guess...

I don't reveal anything about myself or Dcs apart from on this thread and very small details on the partners with mental health issues thread.

Can understand why mouldies started just don't like the "yes" your in "no" your not iyswim.

LuckySalem · 08/01/2009 23:48

I didn't see any of this.

The wedding sites are further down but I think its being changed already so.....

Am already on a McKenna thread but will join up with yours too. Have lost 3lbs since beginning of the year

DD keeps taking these odd little half steps, she took 2 steps yesterday but it was while she was falling so I think it was to try to not fall down if you know what I mean.

Sorry not caught up much but countessa keep posting and simpson I think it is VERY fair of you to feel sorry for the time you've missed - Just keep thinking of all the fun you'll have while catching up.

Will try to catch up on Sat night as DP is off again tomorrow.

Housemum · 09/01/2009 00:56

I always seem to miss the gossip - what is the "moldies" that everyone refers to? I've been on here years but obviously don't fit in the right clique...

Lilyloo · 09/01/2009 11:01

morning all

dd last day at nursery sob , sent her off with a birthday cake to ease the blow and some sweeties for her friends.

Still no car am starting to become demented!!

Basically mouldies is the old group of mnetters who thought mnet was getting too big and impersonal. They set up a group on fb but they only vote others in to the group presumably on whether they think they were an 'oldie'!
I think mnet has changed massively since i started posting though and i have only been here 2 years!

The other trolls were ec who said she was a teenage mum , mummytoleon who faked a premature labour and babyjjbaby who has pretended to have a son who turns out to be a teddybear can't remember about cov. The thing is lot's of mnetters getting really and rightly upset when they invest lot's of time on these 'trolls'.
The upshot being stick to the threads and posters you know (although babyjjbaby has been around for ages and lot's of posters thought they knew her )

No plans today other than an ironing mountain.

Do any of your lo's have a morning sleep still?

Basically dd is now doing
7-10 (feed)
10-3(feed) working on that one
3-7 up
she is then tired at 10ish.
Yesterday i kept her up until 10.45 then let her sleep until 12.15 and that was her only sleep until bed at 7.

What are you all doing ??

simpson · 09/01/2009 11:33

CvQ - (coping very quietly) was a troll who pretended to have mental health problems and self harming issues etc.

She got a lot of people helping her and meeting up with her in RL.

She was supposed to have a LO (from being raped) but people think she made it all up as things were starting to not add up....MNHQ confirmed she was a troll.

Lilyloo - would be going mad without car. Having to get the bus all the time...Grrr.

On the nap thing DD is now starting to only have one nap a day most days. Normally for a couple hours from 1pm ish when we are back from dropping J at pre school.

Maybe 2 days a week (like today)she will have a morning nap. It's like she needs to catch up on sleep iyswim.

I now don't put her down for naps at the same time each day but just go on when she seems tired etc like rubbing eyes....

Lilyloo · 09/01/2009 11:36

ooh i think i remember being on a thread where someone couldn't get hold of her and a mnetter went round to her house!

If she has morning and afternoon sleep how long does she have?

I never had to bother with dd1 as i followed her lead and she still slept at night. Obv M is very different.
