Oh ginge sorry about the toothache I still haven't got mine completely sorted yet. Apparently I'll have to go to hospital to have it removed under GA

Simps - I agree with MM from what you've said that sounds fine to me and sod what they say!!

Ange congrats on Alek walking DD so far looks like she wants to but wont lol.
We went to babyclub today and she's the only non-walker now apart from the baby who's 14 weeks (I sooo want another one)

Anyways.... Am dieting using paul mckenna at the mo and if it works then I will be so chuffed as its just the way I'd like to lose weight. I figure that I can prob lose 4 stone in about 8 months so I can therefore not worry about losing it till September.... so if its gonna work it should have shown by then easily.

madmouse · 06/01/2009 22:27

Lucky that is a dangerous approach to weightloss. You may gain more weight in the meantime because oh you will all sort it out in September anyway, and it is not realistic to shed 4 stone in 8months. It may happen, but chances are you will lose a stone in the first month and then it will slow down a lot.

I would recommend healthy eating and exercise from now on and then you can step up the weightloss later if you need to.

OP posts:
LuckySalem · 06/01/2009 22:32

hmmmm ok, Do you not think you can lose 4 stone in 8 months then? I thought 1/2 a stone a month was an easy accomplishment (can you tell i've never dieted before )

Have any of you read/seen/heard that Paul McKenna one? really is a too good to be true type thing but its amazing how much its cut my eating down already.

Anyone got any excersise you can do with a baby? - Am gonna take her swimming but we dont swim so

madmouse · 06/01/2009 22:35

I lost 6st 4lb with weight watchers before getting pg and fat again. that took me 15 months, so almost half a stone, not quite. I am just worried that you have a deadline, ie your wedding, and that you will get stressed if it does not happen.

sorry, don't believe in Paul McKenna, don't believe that it helps long term.

walk missus, walk walk walk

OP posts:
LuckySalem · 06/01/2009 22:41

I walk all the time - we go out every day nearly and walk all round town etc but its not shifting it.

Maybe if I start walking to the swimming pool? Only worry is whether I can walk back again.

simpson · 06/01/2009 22:50

can you get a fitness DVD at leap about the front room?

LuckySalem · 06/01/2009 22:51

Simps I got loads of those but never do them... I can't make myself - probably the same if I decide to walk to the swimming pool I'll do it once maybe twice then take the car. I'm useless at this kind of thing. lol

LuckySalem · 06/01/2009 23:05

OK I think I know where I want to get married.

Either Chainbridge hotel or Wild Pheasant here Which do you think?

simpson · 06/01/2009 23:10

Lucky - it looks absolutely gorgeous My mouth is watering at the sample menus

LuckySalem · 06/01/2009 23:11

I know [homer style drooling]

MrsMcJnr · 06/01/2009 23:23

Sleeves rolled up and ready to catch up?.

Thank you all for the birthday wishes, I had a nice day

Madmouse ? that?s fabulous about the occupational therapist discharging Nathan I love cooking too. It helps that DH is very enthusiastic about anything I make, shame my son doesn?t feel the same way Glad to hear the nights are getting so much better!

Simpson - I could hardly bear DS?s first 3 sets of injections, I am dreading the next set. LOL about your DD and In the Night Garden, those harboo things are scary I think! DS loves Iggle Piggle too. He thinks he lives with us now that he has his own toy. Yay for Molly crawling! DS now whispers ?Ted? to all his toys, so cute! That?s an incredible story about your DH?s early years; it must be hard for him to accept that. Pasta isn?t a hit here either. Sorry to hear that egg may be on the off limits list too. Glad the Dr appointment went well.

Angechica ? hope you had a lovely anniversary How exciting about Alek walking!

Gingeme ? think we are going to have a tea party for DS?s birthday here too. He is taking a few more steps every day but mainly cruising around good on George for getting going! You?d be a fabulous Doula I think (and childminder). My New Year?s resolutions are to put cream on my feet and body brush every day I lived in Scotland for 16 years and never used a tumble dryer and now I live in Southern Spain and am desperate for one sorry to hear about the toothache

Lily ? what a busy time you had! Hope you are feeling better now. So glad you got your gas back in time for Christmas Day My internet transmitter blew up in a storm last weekend so luckily just had to replace that but it took a while!

LaT ? Happy belated birthday to Sabela! Sounds like she had a lovely day. Sweet about her liking the Teletubbies, so does DS.

Nicky ? Charlie sounds like a joy, my DS is more mobile than vocal! 19 weeks here and still sick as a dog! Bought some pink things in the sales, it feels odd! In spite of me staying in alone and going to bed after the bells on NYE when DH and family went into town, DS woke up every hour between 12 & 7! needless to say I felt worse than I would have done with a hangover on NYD! It is funny being on an AN thread again isn?t it?

Lucky ? hope DD is feeling much better now. I keep DS?s toys in the big wicker baskets from Ikea, I have one in his room and one in the lounge and he loves delving in them. I also have his books in baskets but would love a book shelf for them. So glad your friend?s DS is ok, very scary! I want to move DS on to Cow?s milk but am going to wait until he starts eating more again (teething!) just in case he needs the vits in the formula at the mo.

Mixedmama ? we miss you! So lovely to hear from you all the best to you too! Great news about BIL moving out soon, I don?t know how you have put up with him all this time, you must be a saint!

Hello Rockdoctor

JKS ? sounds like you all had lots of fun but you must be shattered! The trouser story gets my empathy; I managed to keep it together on my birthday when my MIL presented me with size 22 non-maternity box tops I?m a size 14! There was no malice in it, it?s just frustrating as I can?t take them back and swap them for something I?ll use so it?s a waste of her money. The age gap will be somewhere between 15 & 16 months between my DCs.

Hey there Housemum! Happy belated birthday to Amelie! We have the same molar situation going on here! I always think those cards on Cbeebies are amazing, wish I?d seen yours!

I really am in awe of all of you still BFing. I hope to do so with B2 until she?s a year, I hate using formula but I guess it depends what she is like, there was nothing I could do about DS self weaning mind you, she?ll still be tiny in the really hot months here and I think that might make a difference.

Right, bed for me!!

Lucky - try this thread that I am on, some people are "trialing2 Paul McKenna, but everyone is doing it their own way we are just trying to keep each other on track.

Not sure what the health problems some of you were having other than MM but glad that you seem to be getting answers you want now.

Speak later

Housemum · 07/01/2009 14:07

I had the Paul McKenna CDs but eBayed them a while back - you can't listen to them whilst driving, and you need to be focussed so any time kids are around is out - I did watch the programme on telly, I think as much as anything it's just reinforcing good habits. I've had success since Amelie was born in just being "careful" - I've not denied myself anything, but nor do I buy things that might "tempt" me - I'm still about half a stone over where I'd like to be (5' 6", 11stone 3, size 14 top/12 bottom) but with a little more walking and general not-sitting-on-my-bum I think I can get there. If I do a proper diet, I get so hung up on food that I go mad and stuff my face. So it's better for me to just try eating smaller amounts, and go for healthier options eg a big bowl of home-made soup (butternut squash is my fave) is filling and not too bad for you (even though I do put cream in it)

Housemum · 07/01/2009 14:08

Had Amelie weighed today - still not heavy enough to change car seats! She's 18lb 12oz. Can't wait for her to put on that extra pound, will get those 2 car seats off my garage floor.

simpson · 07/01/2009 14:48

Housemum - I had DD weighed yesterday at hosp and she weighs around the same.

But she is very long so have just put her in new carseat this week as her head was very near top of old carseat iyswim.

Have just wasted the time DS is at preschool by walking back to the hospital to collect DD's red book

Oh well hopefully have shed a few pounds!!

Although maybe not as I am currently stuffing my face with a smoked salmon & cream cheese sandwich, yum!!

countessofmontecristo · 07/01/2009 17:49

Hello everyone. Just letting you know I'm bowing out gracefully on this thread.
I have been very shamefully hit and miss on posting here, although I do try and read everyone's posts, so I feel a bit of a fraud for popping in now and again. You've all built up a great relationship with each other and I haven't been around often enough to do that.
Anyway, wishing all the best to each and everyone of you, your Dh's and children.

Mixedmama, I will 'see' you no doubt on the 'Reserving my place for Jan 1st' thread.

mixedmama · 07/01/2009 21:13

I am really bad, I havent had DS2 weighed for a very long time, he is a chubby one though.

DS2 is crawling crazily at the moment, he is incredibly fast and thinks it is funny to go off down the corridor with me chasing him. They seem to be playing together quite nicely now altho DS2 can be a little spiteful, DS1 is taking it well.

DS2 stands up all the time and cruises along furniture and is really interested in food now.

Those of you who are expecting congrats... I would still like one more but |Dh is adamant no more which makes me a little sad.

Anyway just thought I would pop on and say hi.

LaTrucha · 07/01/2009 21:21

THat's a shame Countess. Feel free to drop back if you want.

That makes me think. WHERE IS FILLY? Did she find this thread yet?

Tonight's headline: Sabela is definitely pulling herself up now. She's not going for the couch or coffee table yet but she was sitting on my leg and she grabbed a suitcase and went for it. She has also started spinning round if you put her on her tummy

MMama - Sabela has sudden;y ramped up the food too.

Put on 7oz this week - an all-time record. YAY!

madmouse · 07/01/2009 21:22

countess! it is fine to post occassionally, I think we are all proud that this has always been a very open thread, not a clique

stay if you want to

OP posts:
madmouse · 07/01/2009 21:23

Yay for Sabela

OP posts:
simpson · 07/01/2009 21:37

Countess - please post whenever you want Don't feel you have to leave us...

I very nearly set fire to the kitchen tonight Was cooking spaghetti and left the wooden spoon balanced on top of saucepan while on hob and when I turned round it had caught fire!! Oops Luckily was near sink but it stank out the kitchen!!

Had a bit of an odd day TBH. Feel a bit down today which is not like me.

DD has been an absolute joy today laughing, crawling, talking, pointing etc and I feel a bit robbed that I lost all that time with her when she was miserable and crying all day.

She is most likely my last child and feel I have lost out on her being a happy baby for the first yr of her life almost

Am probably being silly and AF due in a few days...so its probably that, will feel better tomorrow am sure

madmouse · 07/01/2009 21:45

simpson you need to allow those feelings for a bit. You have had a very hard time with her and you had to fight ridiculously hard and spend a lot of energy getting what she needed. Now she is blossoming and you get to relax and this is what happened.

Nathan is better than they ever said he would be and he is a real delight but I still grieve that I never had the early days, can't remember his newborn cry , he was three months before I was not so worried about him anymore and started to really enjoy him.
That'sjust how it is.

so how you feel is normal, although AF never helps

OP posts:
simpson · 07/01/2009 22:05

Madmouse - you are right as always

Think its because DD is now finally on right milk etc.

Feel guilty for feeling like this though as there are kids who are really ill (like Nathan was )

madmouse · 07/01/2009 22:36

W-O-T!

Lisnup miss Simpson

Your baby was really ill. She was not getting nutrients from the stuff that was meant to feed her. Don't compare like that. If I compare with many others on the special needs thread Nathan is not really ill at all
