norash40 · 20/05/2005 10:36

Goodmorning everyone,

Popsy sorry you had such a hard time with ds1 and jaundice.

Kieran is fine , luckily they did not have to put him in scbu they put him next to my bed. But they had to take him to scbu at midday and midnight for antibiotics and he was so distressed everytime he came back it broke my heart.

Somebody please send me, no send Kieran an overdose of sleepvibes, he has decided that sleep is no longer his thing . I am sufering from severe sleep deprivation.

norash40 · 20/05/2005 10:37

Oh and by the way Kieran is being baptised on sunday.

norash40 · 20/05/2005 10:46

Hey guys,

Did or do any of your babies have spots on there faces, Kieran has tiny spots on his face and round the back of his neck. Is this 'normal'?

bonym · 20/05/2005 10:50

Norash - the spots are normal - it's apparently your hormones which get transferred to the baby during birth and then "come out" a few weeks later resulting in spots. Grace got them at about 5 weeks - they have now cleared from her cheeks but moved down to her neck and chest! They will go eventually. Sorry to hear you are having sleep problems

jambot · 20/05/2005 10:53

Lauren had lots of spots on her cheeks and neck. The paediatrician gave me some cream for them at her six week check up and it did the trick. Apparently it's some type of dermatitis.
Battling with cradle cap at the moment. Looks really horrible - like a bad case of dandruff! Rubbing in olive oil which makes her smell horrible, but it's supposed to work.

norash40 · 20/05/2005 10:55

Thanks bonym. How's Grace this morning?

norash40 · 20/05/2005 10:59

Hey jambot, we don't see you in this neck of the woods often! How are you doing and how is Lauren? I hope you are doing well.

norash40 · 20/05/2005 11:03

I wonder where all the other match mothers have disappered.

Leogaela · 20/05/2005 14:16

Norash - me too. I keep wondering what has happended to Sweeney. I remember her baby was screaming the whole night through. Would be nice to know if she's doing OK.

Did the 11pm feed last night. Niklas didn't even wake up, but managed to latch on and feed fine in his sleep! he still woke up around 3am as usual but woke up around 6.30 this morning and was happily laughing and chattering to himself, didn't want to feed straight away- he usually wakes up crying so that was a nice change!

3mummy - happy anniversary! Enjoy your dinner tonight!!!

BABYD · 20/05/2005 14:26

Dylan has started doing something strange when he feeds in the day. He feeds for about 5 mins then starts pulling away and headbutting by boob, but still mouthing as if hungry, checked that there is milk for him to get but hes getting really frustrated. if i sit him up to wind he cries. I tried a different position today with him tucked under my arm and he seemed more contented and fed for about 15 mins, which is good for him. (he's always been a quick feeder)
Does anyone else find the under arm position better.

Girly · 20/05/2005 14:53

I am still around, trying to keep up with this thread!!! Have started another thread about mixed feeding going pearshaped so will not repeat myself.

Have been on hols for a 8 days with my mum and step dad and 4 children, my 3 and my godson who is 7. Lets just say it was hell for me and dh, the kids enjoyed themselves but only after dh and i sorted out logistics and had a hug row with my folks

I still can't talk about it without crying so won't bore you all with details, but the row was on ds's 3rd birthday, just over a week ago and I am still very upset. My parents think that we are lousy parents because we have rules/routines for the children and do not do things the way they expect us to and as for b/f well that is just plain embarrasing in their eyes and met with 'oh no she's not feeding again' type comments!

So am a very unhappy girly at the mo and am so releived to be home with my wonderful children who are much better behaved now we are home and are not being spoiled one minute and ignored the next.

oopps said i would not bore you with details but that it only the basics, you would be shocked by the whle story!

Popsy, would love to add millie to the album, can i have the details please!!!

norash40 · 20/05/2005 14:55

BABYD Kieran does the same as well when breastfeeding, he usualy does it when he is tired and yes the underarm position helps.

He was up almost all night and is now asleep [fool], I know I know, I should be getting some sleep as well . Everytime I think of falling asleep, I think what's the point he might wake up soon.

Oh well, I hope he will sleep better tonight. Another night without sleep and I will sell him off to the circus .

shalaa · 20/05/2005 14:56

BonyM I would have avoided the stairs as well, spiders scare the hell out of me!

Have fun on Sunday Norash.

Well last night I moved the cot next to the bed and set it up ready for Caleb. We've been co-sleeping since he was born so wasn't sure how he'd take to it. Well he was a little angel! Went to sleep at 11pm and slept till 3am woke for a feed then slept till 6.30am. Really seems to like his cot, got him one of them baby sleeping bags as he kicks alot and it's been brilliant!

Calebs got his second sets of injections on Tuesday and I'm not looking forward to it, he was so upset last time, made me cry loads as well.

Can someone send me the photobucket details? Calebs picture was printed on the Metro here

jambot · 20/05/2005 15:36

Lauren has just gone off for late-afternoon 'power nap'. Doesn't last more than 20 minutes but seems to see her through to her bath, bottle and bed at 6:45. She is a fairly easy baby, but I find her quite draining at the moment, especially in the morning. She won't nap more than 20 minutes in the morning, even though she is tired after one and a half hours of being awake. Find that she gets tired very quickly at the moment. Think it's all the stimulation her little 10 week brain is taking in. Find the hours between 7am and her feed at 11 very long. There's only so much playing, cuddling and walking in the pram you can do! Luckily she has a 3 and a half hour mid day nap most days.
Have just been looking at some of her early pictures - can't believe how she has grown over the last few weeks. She looks like a real little baby girl now.

norash40 · 20/05/2005 15:36

He is sooooooooooo cute and alart

jambot · 20/05/2005 15:40

Won't someone tell me about the on-line photo album. Would love to look at all your babies and put some pics of Lauren on

norash40 · 20/05/2005 15:42

jambot CAT popsy, she is the one who organised the whole thing. She will give you the details.
