Hi everyone and Happy New Year, hope you all had good ones. It's been weeks since I was on MN. We went to Spain for Xmas and it all went very well generally. Sander slept through both the flights, except for a 3 min scream on the way home when I got some milk in his eye. Beware of air pressure and baby bottles! His routine went a bit out of the window while we were away but seems to have dropped back into it okay this week. Best night's sleep ever last night, he was down from 8.30pm to 5.15 this morning

I've put some new photo's on my profile. Enjoy the frosty weather!

Aubergenie · 06/01/2009 15:45

Lovely pics Lozza!

BTW - Has anyone received their child benefit yet? I was wondering how long it takes to get processed.

heather1980 · 06/01/2009 16:37

i got mine within 2 weeks and they back dated it as well. i did it mid november and came back early december.

heather1980 · 06/01/2009 16:39

oh and my ctc came back in a week! was very impressed the money went in on xmas eve which was nice.

Honeymoonmummy · 06/01/2009 17:36

I was the same as you Heather. Lozza, love the pics, funny re air pressure!

I've just had a row with DH so I'm not in a good mood. I think I need some sleep (dont we all???)

Took Poppy to be weighed this morning, she's put on 3oz in 6 days which is her lowest weight gain yet, but still more or less on the same line so they said dont worry.

Thanks re grobags, she's just hit the 10 lb mark so i'll try her in one.

Aubergenie · 06/01/2009 17:53

Really? I sent all the stuff off in early November but haven't had anything. I've had the trust fund voucher thingy though, so they've obviously received the application. Hmm.

Lozza70 · 06/01/2009 18:12

Aubergenie I would chase up your child benefit as that seems a long time to be waiting. I think they only backdate a certain time period.

star6 · 06/01/2009 18:45

help what do pink cheeks mean?? not too hot... been in warmer and cooler temps today...

CantSleepWontSleep · 06/01/2009 19:08

Common when teething star, so could be that.

Only sent off cb application a couple of weeks ago. They will backdate 3 months, but as long as you got it to them in time, their own delays shouldn't impact eligibility.

We've all had a never-ending cold here as well! the cough type tho not the runny nose one.
I had the most dreadful night last night, up forever with DD who was bunged up and spluttering her way through bottles and then had terrible wind and writhed around for ages. I finally was heading off to bed for the 4th time at 4.30am, tiptoe out of DDs room and encounter DS1 in the hall! "I need a wee, Mummy" he says as I hush him frantically "and DS2 wants to come too".
So all 3 were awake at the same time
My little heart sank.....
So got to bed at maybe 5.30 ready for the 7am kickoff for today.
What makes me laugh is that the DSs never question why Mummy is in the hall in her dressing gown at 4 in the morning - do they just think i prowl around the house all night??
Dh this morning - "that was a good night - did she wake for a feed"
Just lucky he won't need those testicles again.

Hello everyone - I didn't know there was a post natal area until about 10 mins ago! How lovely to "see" you all still here and chatting.

DS2 is now 12 weeks and a little porker. Sleeps from 7 til 7 with a dream feed at 11 (DH does this) and a little star during the day. I am so happy to have an easy baby as it has been HELL with DS1 recently.

He cannot stand the new kid on the block and feeding him is just a complete misery at present. In fact that is why I am on here tonight. I had a melt down at him at tea time and feel sick with shame this evening. Been looking for threads of similar guilt to make me feel better (found LOADS which has certainly done the trick! I am not alone - whey hey!).

DS2 had his 12 week jabs today so not sure what tomorrow will bring. I am determined to start chilling out at mealtimes with ds1 though as it is impossible for him to starve himself ... isn't it??? Added despair is we see dietician again on Thursday and he has made ZERO progress since we last saw her and I feel like I have failed miserably. Boo. Hiss. Boo.

Well, glad to see there is still a thread for us Oct ladies and will be back!!

SmudgeyDoodle · 06/01/2009 22:13

lol at mammies not sleeping - certainly how i feel. Star, DD still feeding every 2 hours day and night withy an occassional 3 hour stint in the night. She often doesn't settle for night til about 11 but then sleeps til about 10 just waking for feeds. I got her weighed at 8 week check - 10lb 13oz. i then looked in ds yellow book and he was that weight at 4 weeks!!!
we were looking at buying a house up here but it seems that unless you have over 25% deposit, the rates are pants. Need to have a rethink and sort out some of our crap.
we have dd in a 2.5 grobag and a couple of blankets. I still think she is cold though as she sleeps by the window and it feels draughty. i wonder about putting a cardigan on her to keep her arms warm - minus 6 tonight apparantly. Good luck everyone

heather1980 · 07/01/2009 09:27

morning all, we had both a great and pants night here. Alex went down at midnight and slept right through till 8:30am yeah but to make up for it dd was up at 3am coz she had a bad dream. dh ended up getting in bed with her and they both fell asleep.
hv came yesterday to do my dds 2 year check up, she passed with flying colours and even did a test they give to 3 year olds. i am very proud. she said not to worry about alex throwing up entire feeds, he might have a touch of colic.

ronshar · 07/01/2009 10:22

Hello everyone. I have finally returned after what seems like forever. I have missed you all.
I hope everyone is good and had a great Christmas/New Year.

We moved house the week before Christmas. Our cat escaped and got run over. Burying your beloved cat on Christmas eve is no fun let me tell you. So we have had a pretty pants Christmas and New Year.
William back to 2-3 hourly feeds again. He was begining to sleep through! He is now in his big boy cot and loves it. Although I have to try and find him in the dark as he tries to hide at the other end of the cot at night if I dont get up quick enough. Wriggly monster.

OMG! Way too many people to reply to! So I wont attempt to!!

I'm sorry to hear about your cat ronshar, we had to get our cat put to sleep when Poppy was just 2 weeks old, I was particularly gutted cos i knkew he was getting worse but I was preoccupied literally 24-7 with Poppy.

God when I think back to those first few weeks when i sometimes only got an hour a night.

Poppy's reflux is still just as bad imho but she is starting to get in a routine - well, she's got up and fallen asleep at the same time for 2 days now!!
