I am very cruel I just couldnt resist.

She has not fallen out she is just repeatedly banging her leg on bed frame. She is fast asleep.
She has one of my traits I used to do this and also bang my forehead on my hands repeatedly to help get to sleep.
Hope she doesnt do the head one though.

no1putsantaupthechimney · 17/12/2008 22:54

Thanks

SazzlesIsASleighBell · 17/12/2008 22:54

Off to feed Emma.....night all

Sazzles, you bet I screamed NO about the carpet. This house had carpet WALL TO WALL in EVERY ROOM. At some point prior to our purchase the former owner change out two rooms: the kitchen and the hall bath. However we were left with the rest. I can happily say we got rid of it ALL. Carpet in bedrooms but NOT IN BATHROOMS. I'll admit the tile is cold in the hall bath.....was glorious during my vomit sessions back when i was knocked up. Our master bath is torn down to the framing right now and not in use BUT when it's done (in twenty years) I think I'm going to have hardwood for the main area since we're building a HUGE walk in tiled (with something) shower.

No1 your pics are so so so cute. And that MOBY ROCKS!!

Now please nobody throw tomatoes at me but I just got back from the tanning bed. I'm going for LIGHT THERAPY more than the tan (that's just a side affect). Tis also three months till BEACH. Can't hurt to have a little color before stepping out on the sand.

SOOOOOoooooo by January I'll have a new hairdo and a tan. I feel myself transforming already.

Ladies my mouth is WATERING!! I just watched the following being made on the Food Network. I'm going to try it.

copied from The Food Network website
Panettone Bread Pudding with Cinnamon Syrup
Recipe courtesy Giada De Laurentiis, 2007
Show: Food Network SpecialsEpisode: All-Star Holiday Dishes

Cook Time 40minutes

Ingredients

Cinnamon Syrup:
1 cup water
1 cup (packed) dark brown sugar
2 tablespoons whipping cream
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Bread Pudding:
Butter
1 (1-pound) loaf panettone bread, crusts trimmed, bread cut into 1-inch cubes
8 large eggs
1 1/2 cups whipping cream
2 1/2 cups whole milk
1 1/4 cups sugar

To make the syrup:
Directions
Combine 1 cup of water and brown sugar in a heavy medium saucepan. Bring to a boil over high heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves. Boil until the syrup reduces to 1 cup, about 10 minutes. Remove from the heat and whisk in the cream and cinnamon. Keep the syrup warm. (The syrup can be made 1 day ahead. Cool, then cover and refrigerate. Re-warm before serving.)

To make the bread pudding:
Lightly butter a 13 by 9 by 2-inch baking dish. Arrange the bread cubes in prepared dish.

In a large bowl, whisk the eggs, cream, milk, and sugar to blend. Pour the custard over the bread cubes, and press the bread cubes gently to submerge. Let stand for 30 minutes, occasionally pressing the bread cubes into the custard mixture. (Can be prepared 2 hours ahead. Cover and refrigerate.)

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Bake until the pudding puffs and is set in the center, about 45 minutes. Cool slightly.

Spoon the bread pudding into bowls, drizzle with the warm Cinnamon Syrup, and serve.

SazzlesIsASleighBell · 18/12/2008 08:56

Ha, ha TS, thought that would get you going! We are a bit topsy turvy in this house what with being upside down and with a tiled bedroom floor (DD's have wooden floors) and carpeted bathroom . You will be pleased to hear however that we have a tiled kitchen

Messy morning so far, went in to see Emma and their was a familiar aroma - took her out of the cot and there were faint poo stains on her sheet. So it had soaked through nappy, vest, sleepsuit and sleeping bag . It must have happened between 4.15am and 7.30am so she wasn't lying in for too long but she never complained about it....bless

FestiveGardenia · 18/12/2008 09:09

Oh dear poor Emma. It's terrible when that happens & it's left to dry on and you change it and you have to really scrub to get it off their poor legs.

I don't know what's going on here, I'm not even going bother detailing who woke when and what they did, I'll put you all into a deep glazed-over boredom. I do now understand why MN has a whole topic called Sleep though.

No1 what sweet pudding photos!

I have mums and babies coming here this morning (why, why, why) for a Christmas party, some time last week I thought it would be a lovely, festive and sociable idea .

This is all old hat now I know but we have that bath seat too and it's brilliant.

Glad you got your car, dizzy! Well done.

On that house thing, in our last house once a friend of ds1's came over and said to ds1 "Are you poor?". He didn't say it in a mean way, it was a purely information-seeking question. Luckily, at that time ds1 couldn't give a rat's whisker about that sort of thing - he was about 7 - I think now he's much more conscious about people judging him, which is terribly sad but I suppose happens to us all. Most of the judgment is on such minor matters too, do you have a phone? Is your mum good at cakes? etc etc.

sambo303mincepiesconsumed · 18/12/2008 09:43

No1 love the photos, we call our LO 'Puddin' Chops'

ts sunbeds?
thanks for the yummy sounding recipe but I found my pre pg clothes this morning and cannot get into any of them [deep gloom emoticon] so will pass on yummy food for the time being

off to get IUD fitted now [deeper gloom emoticon]

sambo303mincepiesconsumed · 18/12/2008 09:46

vg I am going to a mother/ baby/ mulled wine/ mince pie thing this afternoon, and it is lovely and sociable, I'm sure all your guests appreciate your festive efforts

aug 2008: sleep is still an issue for the next thread title?

DS looking very cute and ever so slightly mad today in a yellow and green stripey baby gro with snails and frogs on.

morning all

FestiveGardenia · 18/12/2008 10:15

Ah thanks sambo. At the moment not feeling festive.

Perhaps should change name to InTheBleakMidwinter.

LOL.

Oh dear.

NoroomattheCaveman · 18/12/2008 10:18

apologies in advance for my wild eyebrows - man do they need taming....just as soon as I've sorted my hair out!

Trying in vain to catch up on 2 days of postings

Ds1 had his nursery play yesterday, he was a fairy!! (his choice). As soon as the curtains opened he was the first to shout "hello mummy!" Ahhhh. They did the story of the Christmas Tree. Shame you couldn't make out the story but they were very cute with singing etc

cyLENTeeNIGHT · 18/12/2008 11:40

no1 what a gorgeous little pudding you have there! you are also looking very glam, i must say

thanks for the recipe TS but i've currently got my baking hands full as DP bought me the best book ever for my birthday: "the classic 1000 cake and bake recipes", absolutely everything cakey and bakey you could ever wish for. have already made a spiced apple cake that drew fulsome praise from DP's crumb-strewn lips and a pineapple-coconut cake that was a bit bizarre method-wise but tastes delicious, even if half the topping fell off when i banged its bottom (ooer) to get it out of the tin.

cheery waves to all, feel 10 times better as a result of perfect night's sleep (feeds at 11pm and 3am, back in his basket without a hitch each time, cheeky nap around 8.30am) and joe is back to his normal smiley self. never underestimate the power of tiredness to ruin everything.

hope you all have good days

sambo303mincepiesconsumed · 18/12/2008 13:20

LWFH yes, sleep very much an issue. Just managed an hour's kip just now after nurse today said I looked at death's door and must get my head down at every opportunity otherwise I won 't cope.

Cyteen you are so right, tiredness is making life not much fun at the mo. Appears you are making a bid for FBG title too and don't forget to share some of those cake recipes (spiced apple sounds delish)

sambo303mincepiesconsumed · 18/12/2008 13:42

pertelote can you add me to that list for the London meetup?

Can do any day although afternoon only of Wednesdays

sambo303mincepiesconsumed · 18/12/2008 13:43

I suggested Giraffe and southbank one wd be mega handy for me, but happy to go with other locations

OhLittleBitShyOfBethlehem · 18/12/2008 14:21

ugh - sleep. please i need sleep.

keep trying to keep up with thread but am tooo tired....

2 wake ups last night 11.30 and4.30. He went down ok after feeds but man it's hard - since he was abut 6 weeks old we only had one wake up, then only 1 in 4 nights had one wake up then a month of slwwping through, then odd wake ups and now he's coldy and coughy it's like having a newborn again. And dd has had pains in her leg at night so been crying and calling us in (I suspect cramp but I can't work out what kind of pain she means). Am feeling very down cos I feel so tired. Been a mean wicked mummy to dd and been grumpy with poor little ds . SOre right nipple - sorer than usual due to all these extra feeds

London meetup - southbank sounds good.

TwilightSurferChristmasAngel · 18/12/2008 15:01

morning

no1putsantaupthechimney · 18/12/2008 15:19

Hi everyone.
No sleep here either
Think I have had 2 and half hours all night.
Poor ds screamed, and screamed, and passed wind, oh and screamed. and passed a bit more wind.
Think he has tummy ache???? Trying to think if it was something I ate. He has also been sick 3 times, something he never does tbh.

Thanks for pic compliments. Bin to dd toddler xmas party, Ds as pudding, dd as xmas fairy.
Was lovely, kids all loved it, she didnt freak at santa, but did hold on to me quite tight when recieving her gift.

fg and sambo hope your festive afternoons go well.
sambo how did the waterbabies go??
cyteen so glad you had a better night, its amazing what a bit of sleep can do. I very cake sounds great too

love the new thread title suggestions btw.
ts the cake sounds yummy.tut tut re tan bed My sister also uses one say,s she feels terrible without a bit of colour. I am only jealous as they dont do a thing for my blue complexion.
(I dream about having a healthy glow)

BucketsofReindeerPoo · 18/12/2008 18:10

LOL about baths. I can still count on one hand the number of baths Kurt has had ever! I just can't be bothered, I usually wait til DH is around and have him in with me for a few minutes. When he's sitting up I'll get one of those blue sit-up seats so he can go in with the big two.
If you lay the baby towel on the floor ready you can just pull out the baby, wrap it up and cuddle it dry on your lap on the loo.

Kurt is still waking once in the night but I now cuddle him back to sleep without milk, then when he wakes for his 5-6am poo (sigh) I give him just 4oz formula while we wait for the poo. That keeps him going til at least 8am so now I am having to work hard to get his 5x8oz bottles in during the day.

BucketsofReindeerPoo · 18/12/2008 18:12

Aug08: I'll sleep when I'm dead ?

petitfiloudanceswithreindeers · 18/12/2008 19:11

Sazzles Sorry but I have been laughing at your very organised bathtime routine

This is mine:
Plonk Toby on floor while I grab all his stuff
Start to run bath
Shout at older dcs to come upstairs (repeat x3)
Threaten older dcs that I will put them straight to bed
Dcs come upstairs
Dcs piss about running around, not getting undressed and shouting
Shout at older dcs again
Dcs get undressed
Ds1 does a wee, gets some on the floor (I clean it up)
Dd wees, gets up without wiping (I clean it up)
I am bathing Toby in the meantime in his little bath seat thing that goes in the big bath
Older dcs get in the bath, shout, poke Toby, annoy each other and pour water everywhere
I get Toby dressed and put him in his cot
Toby shouts
Older dcs are plucked from the bath and forced to brush teeth, they repeat earlier stage of running about, annoying each other and not getting dressed
Toby still shouting
Eventually everything calms down and I read to them both while feeding Toby - interspersed with 'sit down', 'if you can't sit still you are going to bed', 'no I am not reading Cinderella again' etc etc

Off to cook dinner, will come back later !

MerrySibhmas · 18/12/2008 19:18

Read PF's post.
Replace 'Toby' with 'Eibhlín'.
Replace Cinderella with 'Owl babies'.
= Bedtime chez sibh.

Spooky.

TwilightSurferChristmasAngel · 18/12/2008 20:10

Well I'm with Buckets on the number of baths. I thought for a while that it was the bath that caused the skin reaction.

Well my house is just plain nasty today but I haven't had the time to clean. We slept til 9am then started dd1 on school work (don't want to her to get out of the habit of writing her name and practicing shapes each day). All fed breakfast. Then straigtened kitchen while dd1 worked on noisy art project underfoot. Then WORLD FAMOUS HOMEMADE BURRITOS for lunch. Then quality time with dd1 while reese slept. Then bathed both (attemped putting baby bath tub in bath and it was kinda nice). Now just logging in to see how to cook a pork loin since I bought one yesterday. I'm thinking seasoning stuff and plop it in the oven for an hour....sounds fine to me.

petitfiloudanceswithreindeers · 18/12/2008 20:44

sibh
Owl Babies - I used to love reading that book as ds1 would do the impression of them bouncing up and down on the branch
