Morning everyone - 2 days to go

Had a really good night last night - we were in bed by 10.30 and Sam only woke once for a feed about 3, he went straight back down into his cot and then everyone stayed asleep until the alarm went off at 6.45 - although DH is obsessed about Sam needing feeding twice every night so accused me of neglecting him (it was my 'shift' last night) by only feeding him once

Anyway I just need to tackle Sam's sleeping during the day and trying to get him to sleep at 7ish in the evenings because at the moment, he sleeps a lot during the day and then is awake with us all evening until we go to bed - I think I will work on that in the New Year.

JingleBuzz · 23/12/2008 09:22

Ceebee Jay is exactly the same, we have managed to get him to bed a few times now but it is still hit and miss and does depend very much on how much he has slept throught the day. Although on Sun night he fed at 8pm we drove home from my dads and he fell asleep in the car he was in bed by 8:30 and didn't get up for a feed until 4AM .

Welcome to Luise and congratulations.

I am meeting Choco and Twinkle this afternoon and very much looking forward to meeting my very firt RL Mnetters!

Ceebee we WILL arrange a meet up closer to you in the new year

Hope everyone is having a nice day so far and are getting in a festive mood!

Pinkyminkee · 23/12/2008 09:28

hello all
helo cricriare you our accidental AP now? I hope things are going well for you.

luise I know what you mean- I am quite happy co-sleeping when it's required, but I get much better sleep if they are in their own crib- I know people who feel the exact opposite, though.

ceebee hi! Yes 2 days to go whoopee! Still not made dinkyminky's stocking- wil have to do that today at some point.

REsleeping in the day- it's hard to know what's best really, isn't it- they are all so different. Dinky sleeps lots, and sleeps very well at night- clearly she loves sleep. DD1 Did not!

Cath up after the DRs.Just remembered- she has jabs at 8 weeks, doesn't she [sad}

Pinkyminkee · 23/12/2008 09:28

HI buzz enjoy your meetup

TheTwelveDAISYofChristmas · 23/12/2008 09:35

Finfoo did a four hour stretch last night.....woohooohooooooooo , but he didn't settle until 2am

and I have a burning boob again , but can't figure out why as there is no obvious lumpiness, just a burning patch on the areoli above my nipple

Pinkyminkee · 23/12/2008 09:55

oh daisy that sounds a bit uncomfy. Has it got chaffed? Hopefully it's not a lurgy- I think you have had your quota!

These little fangs of dinkys are rubbing- they are either side of her lower jaw so my nipple gets sucked between them, and it's rubbing a bit.

Pinkali37 · 23/12/2008 11:23

Ceebee, where are you again?

TheTwelveDAISYofChristmas · 23/12/2008 12:01

I fell asleep on the sofa last night whilst feeding F...maybe he wasn't latched on proerly and has just rubbed a bit. Don't need any more mastitis thank you very much!!!

OOOh, my first test pram arrived today; an Out'n'About Nipper 360 in red. Looks lovely

F won;t get his jabs until well after New Year as there is no clinic for the next two weeks and the appointments won;t be sent out till then. fingers crossed he doesn't catch anything before then.

Gah, Dd is choked with cold and is just miserable today. she is howling over everything.

I hope everyone is feeling better and DPs too in time for Christmas. On that note, have you seen the latest Boots ad about how women have to keep going when ill while the menfolk take to their beds? so so so true!!

OblomovOYeFaithful · 23/12/2008 15:01

Welcome Luise
Well jealous of Pinkalis skiing holiday.
Sorry to hear of MonkeyM's dh being so ill. and possible non travel up norf for family christmas. Any news on that front. Hopefully he will recouperate in the next day or so, enough to travel.
Hope the Choc/Twinkle/Buzz meet-up is going swimmingly.

WE are just back from Kings. Hoped to meet Autumlady but her and James are not very well. In hindsight it was probably best, becasue Max is not very well either.
He was totally out of sorts yesterday. All day. He cried. and dh and I just took it in turns. night was not great either. And he ended up co-sleeping with me, dh on the sofa, at 2am. same old same old, then.

But to be fair, he has got a nasty cough. Given to him by ds1.
And he has that nasty gastro-interitus bug, that has been in the news, given to him, by dh.
And there is the reflux of course.
And the swollen testicle .
And the hernia.
But he has a cough, temperature and is a poorly little chap, I think.

I am the only one who is healthy.
Talking of which I have lost more weight. At kings today I weighed 10 stone.
A few weeks ago at kings I weighed 10 stone 9.
And pre pregnancy, in Jan 08, when I was at my fattest ( I think I ate alot betweent he september 07 when I miscarried and the feb 08 when I fell pregnant) , I was 11 stone 6.

God horror. I was 11 and a half stone.
Remember that I am less than 5 foot 2. and a size 14 or so. So god knows how minging I looked at the time. Mind you, obviously dh didn't care, becasue that was how I got onto this thread in the first place - tee hee - hows ya father.

Talking of which. WE MUST resume over christmas. Dh and I both want to.
We have had a few bj's. GOD I LOVE giving bj's. But still haven't got down to it. Mind you with no sleep, it is hardly surprising.

Enough of this saucy talk.

How is everyone today ?

OblomovOYeFaithful · 23/12/2008 15:08

Sorry, correction, I am 10 stone 3 today. But was 10 stone 9 a few weeks ago, so have still lost 6 lbs.

OblomovOYeFaithful · 23/12/2008 15:10

But I still need to lose 3/4 of a stone atleast, or even a stone.
So, I am still up for the Dozy weight loss thread.
Is that starting on a tuesday then. Ceebee said she was starting 5th of Jan, right. I will join her.

TheTwelveDAISYofChristmas · 23/12/2008 16:03

Obs, i hope Max is better soon, the poor wee scone

How's the diabetes? Are you getting things under control? and how are your bumps and bruises after your fall? I love the way you are keeping a sense of humour about all of this and I hope you'll be looking back on it sooner rather than later.

My weight loss has stopped...mainly due to the amount of sweets and chocolate I'm eating on a daily basis. I'm 12st (ish) but am only just 5ft 2, so looking quite hefty. Still am lighter than before pregnancy so that's one good thing. I still look about five months pregnant though since my tummy muscles are shot to pieces.

and...WAAAAAAAAY TMI young lady . We are still in separate beds, but need to get things back on track. DH is booked in for the snip in Jan sometime and apparently needs to be pretty active in the week beforehand to "empty" the tanks as it were. Arses..well not literally . I'm a bit scared of it all as given my bladder issues (which are worse since my fall), I'm paranoid about weeing myself at an inopportune time

tegan · 23/12/2008 16:11

Hello ladies just checking in.

Owen will be 4 weeks on friday and is already 9lb 2oz but has had a terrible cold ofr over a week so it has disturbed his sleep slightly.

I am back to my pre pregnancy weight but still have alot of excess flab so can't get into my own clothes yet.

I am loving bfing as it never worked with dd2 and i never even tried with dd1.
Most people are supportive of me bf especially dh but i have encountered a couple of people who haven't been impressed.

Will check in tomorrow if i get a free minute

AwayInaMargot · 23/12/2008 16:24

Hello! Thanks for all the lovely messages sending DH get well vibes. Fingers crossed he is a little better today, and has actually had a shower (although he is back in bed now). He was starting to whiff. I think we will make it up north now, although we might leave it til xmas morning. But we should make it there which is great .

Love to all those with sore nips (Lacks )
and am still PMSL over Obs frankness over giving her DH BJ's. You astound me woman!!!

Merry merry xmas to everyone.
P.S. need to lose weight. Am 10' 13, am normally 10' 2 so need to lose 11lbs still. Am 5'7" so I'm not enormous, but can't fit in my old jeans and would dearly like to. So I'm in for the weight-loss thread.

Bye for now!!

tistheCEEBEEtobejolly · 23/12/2008 16:27

Hi - all presents are wrapped although it took me munching a whole box of mint matchmakers to get through it

So, Obs, the answer to your question is yes, I am starting on 5 January as I need to shift at least 3 stone to just get down to a reasonable size 14! Daisy I also still look like I am pg and am so fed up of living in my maternity clothes still so hopefully that will be all the motivation I need in the new year.

Obs lol at your saucy talk - me and DH did the deed for the first time today - twas nice (but, TMI alert, a little painful which is strange as Sam didn't come out of that exit )

Can't wait to hear about the meet-up in Cumbria - Pinkali I am in Lancashire and no-one else is unfortunately!!

Margot how is your DH today? Any better?

Daisy hope the sore boob is better soon!

Can babies have the 6-week growth spurt at 5 weeks?? Sam is guzzling milk like there is no tomorrow these last couple of days - and when he is hungry, he goes from slight whinging to full-on screaming before we have even had time to register that he is due a feed etc - there is no middle ground with him!!!

AwayInaMargot · 23/12/2008 17:23

Ceebee Plumski is 5 weeks plus one, and is guzzling like you wouldn't believe, so I'm thinking the same thing, it's the 6 week spurt early!

hi all
Well I'm averting my eyes from obs post- letsjust say I have quite astrong gag reflex and leave it at that

monkeym glad your DH is at least smelling better!

ceebee well done with the wrapping!

I am a very wobbly 12-14 at the mo and need yo both restrain myself this xmas(not looking good so far) and lose a fair bit of chub afterwards.

imi had her check today- 11lb 4oz or thereabouts can't quite remember- all ok but for slightly herniated belly button but not a problem at the mo.
por little thing is not yet asleep as her legs are hurting have given calpol but still clearly ouchy!

Pinkyminkee · 23/12/2008 19:50

Hi hana carol concert sounds lovely.

calpol and the power of boob seems to be yielding results here- Imi is off to slepp!

Heartmum meant to say, I had a ook at that site-dress looks really nice. I ordered the green patterned one and a top and they both came today! I'm dead chuffed with them- perfect for Christmas but will see me through with the bfing I reckon. I have a few breastfeeding tops but the nice ones can be really expensive.

ceebee I can go to Trafford Centre no probs there's a bus that goes from here every twenty mins- mayybe we could meet up in the New Year?

coolkat · 23/12/2008 19:52

Hello

Sorry to hear your DH poorly but hopefully on the mend Margot, Where abouts are you coming to in the midlands we are here!

Obs things seem to be improving for you and I am pleased, TMI on the BJ's though

Daisy thanks for your post about possibility's of what could keep causing my Mastitis, will look at that as giving BF final shot as I am really enjoying it but I just felt so ill last week with it!

Saurus was good to hear from you, hope things are improving with DH. Keep posting as we may be of some help even if its for you to vent. X

Ceebee A whole box of matchmakers does not take long to get through! They are to nice!

Pinkali have a good trip, sounds like a funny moment with your HV and mum!

Welcome Luise, they are fab on here. X

Me and DH starting diet in Jan, I am now 10stone 7lb and need to loose 7 to be pre-preg, would like to be 9stone 7lb. Back in jeans but still have belly!

I hope everyone has a wonderful christmas with their new addition and I would just like to thank you all for being a fab support network when things have been tough. I wish I lived closer to some of you as I could do with some RL baby friends!!

Have a good one . . .

Coolkat.

tistheCEEBEEtobejolly · 23/12/2008 20:04

Coolkat what a lovely message in your post - I also could do with some baby friends but will tackle that in the New Year I think.

Pinky Trafford Centre is great for me as it only takes about 25-30 minutes to get there. Will definitely set something up for the New Year (although clearly it will have to be something calorie-free ) Hope Dinky picks up soon - tis so hard when they are not feeling well at this age isn't it?

Can't believe it is Christmas Eve tomorrow - where has the time gone??? Feeling a bit mean as DS1 is still going to nursery tomorrow but I need to get stuff done and not have to watch him like a hawk round Sam all day. He is also going next Tues and Wed which even my sis thought was a bit odd - am I a bad mummy??? After 5 days at home with us, I think we will all need the break tbh and I am paying for it anyway (see, am trying to justify it now )

Pinkali37 · 23/12/2008 20:54

Oh i am so behind with all the gossip.

Obs Sorry Max has been poorly I am soooo fat at the moment it is stupid BUT i joined weight watchers last week!!! I aim to lose 2 stone so i can get into all my lovely clothes.

This will be my last chance to catch up over the Christmas and New Year period so have a great time everyone and enjoy it. Touch wood I will make it back on 4th January 2009 all in one piece!!!!

Have out a new photo of Esme on my profile if you'd like to look. x

Pinkali37 · 23/12/2008 20:54

sorry meant to say "PUT a new photo"...

TheTwelveDAISYofChristmas · 23/12/2008 21:01

Trafford centre is 45 mins away from me....can I come too?

boob no better.....it is burning, but no obvious reason for it . Off to start a troubleshooting thread in feeding!

Pinkyminkee · 23/12/2008 21:16

cool Trafford Centre it is,then.

Not quite skiing I take it that requires a sling rather than a bugaboo??Have a fab time, pink

DH and I have fallen out a bit.. I think he doesn't find Christmas quite as exciting as I do He mainly wants to go for beer but I'm fed up of sitting in on my own- I do that all year around.

coolkat I'm sure you'll find some baby friends- press-gang a few at baby massage into coming over for coffee and cake?? It's difficult I know- many of the baby things are for first time mums only and none of my other mummy friends have babies.
