Here we go. I thought the title was apt as ds2 has morhed into a stroppy little horror overnight. His favourite expression at the moment is 'I cwoss with you, I sceam at you AAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH' .

Happy Birthday ToddlerJabber and ToddlerEli .

DD is poorly again. I swear every bug in the vicinity has some kind of magnetic attraction to her . She has a bit of a temp, headache and earache today. I need to buy shares in Calpol and Medised I think.

Aoa, hotel is a very good idea - go for a posh one so you can have a vvvv hot, deep bath!

Eli - mine have had runny poo and are a bit grumpy but generally 'well' iyswim.

Elibean · 13/02/2009 09:59

Sounds like me, EV

dd back at school today, slept through night whithout toilet emergencies so hopefully ok! Hers was a bit more than runny poo, iyswim, but no temp or much pain. Phew. Hope those of you with the Real Bug are on the mend.

LenniEd · 13/02/2009 21:05

Just stopping in quickly. Glad Indith ok. Hope tums are better soon - no cyber virus here please!

Elibean · 14/02/2009 10:41

Spoke too soon: she made it through school, and seemed fine, but had an accident at 1am and then six times again....suspect it was school dinner that did it...

Happy Valentines Day?!

Indith · 14/02/2009 10:42

Ds- babble babble babble
Indith- yes dear that's my watch can I have it please
Ds- watch watch watch watch
Indith Oh FFS
Ds- fuck fuck fuck

{blush] Ooops.

Thanks for the worried messages All ok in the Indith household. Got very low at one point, sure plenty of you here know that feeling, just not wanting to be bothered with dd, annoyed with her for waking at night, resenting having to feed her etc. Loads better now though, had a terrible night where the poor snotty whatsit couldn't sleep, couldn't feed and I spent the whole night propped up on pillows with dd on my chest. For some reason I was totally ok with that and didn't mind one bit.

Dd will be 8 weeks on Tuesday where did the time go? And I have just finished sorting out all the clothes, yet again, to pull out not too boyish stuff for dd anbd see what I need to buy as she has outgrown most of the 0-3 stuff already. She still tends to fuss, gag, choke and the scream at feeds so can be a bit of a nightmare. She feeds best when we lay down on the sofa together but that isn't always easy! So sometimes it ends up feeling like we have fought all day over feeds and got nowhere. Must be feeding somehow though as she weighed in at 11lb8oz last week!

Other than that she is settling well, slipping into that lovely baby routine of being awake for 90 mins then napping. Best of all if you catch her before she gets too tired she settles all by herself in bed! Bedtime still not great, we've had her settle a couple of times at 7/7.30 like ds but mostly she refuses point blank, comes down and watches us eat dinner then feeds to sleep on the sofa. She grins so much it is great, you can feel the giggle behind them as she grins and coos.

Am still fighting the after effects of childbirth. Internal piles...lovely, and that pesky infection. Was a great morning at the Dr that one, 9am and I had a finger up my bum and a vaginal swab. Excellent. So still on bloody ABs, hope it stays away this time!

I am going to run away now before you all infect us with d&v. None of that here thank you very much!

Hope all ok and the bugs don't stay around too long.

Aha, peace has been shattered, dd is awake. Time to gather biscuits and a drink and go feed this growth spurting child again.

castlesintheair · 14/02/2009 11:52

Hi Indith, glad to hear you are still with us I 'slept' on the sofa propped up holding both DD1 & 2 for about 3 months. DD2 in particular, is very keen on her bed these days! Hope your infection clears up soon. 8 weeks!!!! DD2 was sleeping through from 9 weeks (okay, getting up at 5am but still good) so am hoping you have a similar cracker.

Urgh, DD2 stopped vomiting last night (fingers crossed). Just waiting to see who is next ... Am really hoping the rest of us are immune these days. Ha ha ha

DH gone to work. Seem to be back to being a full-time city widow again. Not sure why he's bothering really.

LenniEd · 15/02/2009 10:37

Hi Indith, glad you are ok, I might have some girly things in 3-6months if you want them? I have been meaning to send them to AQ for so long that I think B will be out of that size by now. I also have a few summery bits in 6-9months - do either of you want those?

DD went to a party yesterday at a soft play place and for the first time ever ran around like a loon with the other kids without needing me. Was so liberating, and made me proud.

Expressed 9oz yeterday too so didn't have to feed while there and had half a glass of pink champagne, yum.

Castles - how is his work situation looking? Any better? When will it ever end. Hope you are feeling better, are you still fainting ?

Elibean · 15/02/2009 13:41

Indith, glad you're ok, if exhausted and in the first year of toddler/newbornitis is ok

Have disinfected myself before getting online: you do NOT want this bug (Castles and Oli and Jabber, you probably already have a version of it) Lennied. dd seemed ok during the day again, had better looking poo, so we breathed a sigh of relief and went to bed. She woke up crying in a puddle of poo again at 2am, and had diarrhoea again till 5am on/off....and then seems ok, if exhausted, again this morning. I'm beginning to wonder if she'll be ok for Paris on Tuesdasy morning

Pink champagne and BM...good on all counts!

Castles, am playing the waiting game with you...and also wondering how the work situation is for dh? I hear nothing but grimness on work fronts for so many atm.

Which makes it a daft time to be remarketing our house, but then again if we don't move our kitchen will fall apart and then we'll have to spend the moving money on doing it up, iyswim. So somewhere in between cleaning up poo and packing, I am trying to keep the house presentable for viewings!

jabberwocky · 15/02/2009 17:49

ds2 had some very runny poo yesterday but seems Ok today if a bit pale

We have a contract on our other house. Fingers crossed everything goes ok.

LenniEd · 15/02/2009 19:13

I've got a poorly tum let's hope it is confined to me and is just something I've eaten. Maybe that party wasn't such a great thing afterall

Great news on the house Jabber, have everything crossed for you.

Eli - hope DD better and house appropriately beautiful. You kept that under your hat, hope it goes well this time round.

Oli/EV - hope your households are recovering. Are you still going to the gym Oli?

bebespain · 15/02/2009 20:55

Just a quick pop-in - I haven't really caught up on posts but "Get Well Wishes" to all the poorly LOs.

AQ - sorry to hear about horrible C'pox

Lovely to be back home, feels so right Got a busy week ahead and going to make the most of it, despite feeling like a bloated heffer

DS was an absolute nightmare on the plane, totally freaked out when had to fasten his seat-belt and it was totally down hill from then on in...at one point he just screamed on the floor of the plane - dreading the journey back already, yet another reason to stay put!

Good wishes to you all and here's to a good week...

Elibean · 15/02/2009 22:13

Hello bebe poor ds, poor you...might his ears have been hurting? dd1 hated flying at 17 months, I remember, but did much better when allowed to suck endlessly on a bottle with water in it. It did result in huge pee-full nappies, which I then had to change on floor of plane as couldn't get out, and there were no changing facilites - and I got yelled at by a very annoying BA stewardess - but dd was happier, at least.

Poor LenniEd, I hope its not us giving you cyber-Bug! I think I felt so disappointed about the whole house sale thing in November, that I haven't really let myself think about it this time. I don't believe it'll come to anything.

dd2 has started a big cold, and is coughing. Why oh why do LOs always get ill when we're about to travel?!

Elibean · 15/02/2009 22:14

Jabber, good luck with the house contract!

Elibean · 16/02/2009 07:58

A night without poo!!

Sorry, had to tell someone

bebespain · 16/02/2009 20:17

Good point Eli and to be fair he was full of a cold...

Very glad to hear about your night without poo, hope things are much better now

Olihan · 16/02/2009 22:41

Latest Update from the germ-fest that is currently the Oli household:

DH still has the D&V bug (although isn't helping himself much by eating and drinking normally ).

DCs all appear to be over thart particular bug but ds2 is still very unsettled at night and hugely grumpy/stroppy in the day so I think that's teeth-pain.

I still haven't thrown off the cold I caught almost a month ago which has now settled on my chest so I'm on oral steroids, abs (again) and a steroid inhalor. I'm a one woman drain on the NHS at the moment.

Roll on the warm weather....

Indith, lovely to see you back - 8 weeks . Not long to the magic 12 weeks .

Eli & Castles & EV, hope the poo is still diminishing, as are your washing piles.

Bebe, oh dear on the flight over, can you bribe him with sweets on the way back .

OP posts:
Elibean · 16/02/2009 23:16

Poor Oli its been a horrid winter for bugs of all sorts, hasn't it? I somehow missed your dh catching the D&V...thats the whole family then

I hope your chest is better soon.

Bebe, hope your ds's cold is gone soon too.

I thought I'd killed the thread talking about poo so early in the morning, but glad to see I was wrong

Elibean · 16/02/2009 23:20

Pressed post too fast - meant to say, am (poo situations allowing: dd2 been looking suspiciously pale today, and dd1 had minor relapse after eating sausages) off to Paris in the morning for what is promising to be a mad few days.

My 80 yr old dm and her volatile younger brother (!) need me to accompany them to visit the Notaire (solicitor-ish) on Thursday; I have banks to talk to; a cellar to clear of 100 yr old debris; 2 possibly unwell dds to entertain, and a dgm to somehow say goodbye to. Meanwhile, my ds has been texting me daily to inform me of all the skeletons that have been appearing in dgm's house...a gun (dh says he'll take it to poice station for us), vitriolic letters detailing family rows from 40 years ago....ooooh, fodder for a trilogy of novels here.

Hope to be back by weekend, at which point I'm counting on you lot to restore me to sanity

Elibean · 16/02/2009 23:21

ds being sister, not son

sounded like another skeleton in the family closet there, for a minute...

jabberwocky · 17/02/2009 01:12

We've been out of town since yesterday and no internet but thank you for the positive vibes on the house. I'm not letting myself get too excited until it closes but I am hopeful.

oli, you have asthma like me, yes? It's so hard to get over those types of things

eli, glad to hear things may be getting better and hope you have a good trip. It sounds very interesting.

bebe, we are taking the dcs on their first plane trip in a month and your story makes me extremely nervous! I hope the trip back is better for you.

MARGOsBeenPlayingWithMyNooNoo · 17/02/2009 19:32

at Oli and her colourful language on other thread

dd2 was giving Makka Pakka a cuddle today and saying in a soothing voice "Aw bugger bugger, Awww bugger bugger."

Olihan · 17/02/2009 20:38

Margo. It's one of those expressions that I've been dying to use so I thought I would as no one else had .

We were in a restaurant at lunchtime today, dcs were being surprisingly well behaved until ds2 started throwing stuff on the floor. At which point DS1 pipes up with "Oi, you little bugger!" Where could he have got that from then?

I probably should point out that it's an expression reserved for the dog, NOT the dcs .

Is it really wrong that I find it funny when small children swear? There's been a lot of tales about it on this thread recently so I can't be the only one who swears slightly too loudly occasionally in front of dcs.

OP posts:
castlesintheair · 17/02/2009 20:48

Oh I swear all the time in front of the DCs Oli. I see it as diversifying their education. I saw that thread too and I was proud of you

Olihan · 17/02/2009 21:02

, oddly enough, I swear far less on here than I do in RL.

Something to do with stress levels, methinks .

OP posts:
LenniEd · 18/02/2009 09:49

Ah, go Oli! I'd never have had the guts! So eloquently put too

Also guilty of RL swearing. Fortunately DD says hot like fot which sounds like fuck so I just respond with "Oh yes, it is hot" to any suspect f words. [terrible mother emoticon]
