Here we go. I thought the title was apt as ds2 has morhed into a stroppy little horror overnight. His favourite expression at the moment is 'I cwoss with you, I sceam at you AAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH' .

Happy Birthday ToddlerJabber and ToddlerEli .

DD is poorly again. I swear every bug in the vicinity has some kind of magnetic attraction to her . She has a bit of a temp, headache and earache today. I need to buy shares in Calpol and Medised I think.

Aoa, hotel is a very good idea - go for a posh one so you can have a vvvv hot, deep bath!

She won't even eat ice cream, I tried. Though she is licking a chocolate lolly, half heartedly.

And while I'm moaning: my very stressed mother is en route to stay for 2 nights before going on to Paris to look after her own, very ancient, mother. She's going to be so dramatic and worried about dd2 that I will have to pretend not to be, if that makes any sense - will have to sneak on here and worry to you lot in secret.

Christmas and dysfunctional families

AnneOfAvonlea · 21/12/2008 13:00

Eli - it sounds so hard. Would she have any tinned fruit? Maybe mandarins? Or jelly. That way she'll be getting some sugar from the juice to give her some energy and also staying hydrated. Poor thing

I'm having a nice weekend. DH is going to take girls to the park so I can mooch about the shops later. DD1 has suddenly asked for a High School Musical CD as her friends are all into it. It has escaped us so far. I'm guessing I should go for the 1st one...

Elibean · 21/12/2008 14:04

Thanks AofA, she's not a jelly fan but I took her to the local shop earlier (carried ) and she asked for an ice cream, so she's had half of that. She's drinking juice, a bit, and lots of milk - so she won't dehydrate, just is getting weaker.

atm she's playing Barbies with dd1, so not at death's door or anything....just ongoingly worrying.

I would go for the first one, HSM wise, dd1 asked for it too but didn't like it

LenniEd · 21/12/2008 21:31

Time to read but not to post, still mid-visitors and worn out!

Eli - thinking of you. If only there was something I could do to help.

Indith - thinking of you too - don't know how you've made it to 40weeks. I'm seriously flagging at 37!! Look after yourself lady!

babypowder · 22/12/2008 18:15

Horrible season this - just when we should all be relaxing and enjoying the festivities everyone gets hit by bugs. Yuk!

Indith, you are incredible. I feel exhausted just reading your posts - I don't know how you do it. And LenniEd. And AQ, Jabber et al. I can barely get through the day

Thinking of you and your darling DD, Eli. I completely understand about the stressed mother. Gin for breakfast may help

babypowder · 22/12/2008 18:16

And HUGE congratulations, bebespain. Making me feel quite broody! Are you keeping well?

Elibean · 22/12/2008 19:07

BP, for me or for her? (Not that she would, and I can't, but I could maybe smuggle some into her muesli )....

Bebespain, how on earth did I miss that?!? Congratulations, thats great

dd1 is 5 today...she had a wonderful morning opening presents (we have a tradition of putting balloons and something pretty in her bedroom for when she wakes up - was a string of flower lights and five balloons today, this is going to get expensive when she hits 18) and went to a neighbour's dd's party this afternoon looking stunning. God they grow up fast, dd2 will be in a big girl bed soon at this rate

She's not eaten much, as usual, but is either very stroppy or very funny today, which makes us all worry less

Elibean · 22/12/2008 19:08

BP, just re-read your post....you must be exhuasted by the virus+++ weeks. Don't overdo it over Xmas, y'hear?

Elibean · 22/12/2008 19:08

Or you may even be exhausted

LenniEd · 22/12/2008 21:47

Happy Birthday Eli's DD1!! Sounds like a lovely tradition, might have to steal that one from you, although I think I'll only stretch to balloons this year! Pleased to hear DD2 not so bad today, not long left now, not long at all

BP - You have been through it lately, I wouldn't have the energy either if I was you. And I'm not up to much at the moment anyway, SPD bad so mainly capable of very little.

Visitors gone - yay!! Love to see them, love to see them go! Just crimbo, DD's birthday and a baby to contend with now. And then I'm done.

Getting loads of cramps and pains and things again, am sure they are SPD related rather than labour related though. BH have all but given up, which is wonderful in some ways and worrying in others.

Hope you are busy having a baby Indith, or if not are crossing your legs in readiness for Thursday

Elibean · 22/12/2008 22:34

LenniEd, you may never be 'done' again

Nice fantasy though, I have that one often!

Sorry to hear the SPD is bad, its so painful..I had a bit of it with dd1, and that was more than enough for me. Do you have the support belt thingy?

Wonder if Indith is....no, no, I won't go that way...

AnneOfAvonlea · 23/12/2008 09:12

Hi - Happy Birthday for yesterday toddler bean.

Had a good day yesterday. DD1 had to go to orthoptist and they say her astigmatism has improved a little. She has to go back for sight test next month where she will either get prescription for new glasses (she wants purple) or be told she doesnt need to wear them any more

Off to softplay this morning then aiming for quiet afternoon.

babypowder · 23/12/2008 10:34

AofA, that's great news about your DD's eyes. Although I love the idea of purple specs. I am currently sporting some very grown up red ones, but purple sounds heavenly

SPD is a nightmare, LenniEd, especially in the last few weeks. I know it's impossible, but really do try to take it easy.

Just (nearly) finished the Christmas food shop. Just the meat to pick up tomorrow, and the last few bits and pieces (how could I forget cloves? )

And I may need a lie down later.

accessorizequeen · 23/12/2008 10:44

No. eli, you were right to wonder...

From indith just now...9lb 4oz of baby girl born at around 5.30 this morning.no name yet! Lovely water birth at home as planned.

Congratulations Indith! DS will be a wonderful big brother to his little sister!

Olihan · 23/12/2008 16:18

Oh, what fab news to log into, Indith . She shares my birthday too, so it's a good day to be born .

Sorry I've been AWOL, RL is fraught with all the b'days on top of Xmas so I've just been lurking.

Happy Christmas, everyone - just in case I don't get back on before the big day.

Elibean · 23/12/2008 22:33

Wahey!!!!!!!!!! Congratulations Indith, Mr Indith, and Master Indith!!!! Wow, not 11lbs, but still v impressive...well done

And a big welcome to Miss Indith.

And Happy Birthday Oli

LenniEd · 24/12/2008 09:07

So many December birthdays!! Happy Birthday Oli!

We must all be addicted! My DH is December, and DD obviously. I feel slightly odd being born in April

Just on to wish all a Merry Christmas, hope you all have a lovely day tomorrow and hope the bugs and illnesses are warded off for the day.

Indith, hope you are enjoying being a mummy again and your new daughter is behaving herself for you.

I think DD must know she is 2 on Sunday - terrible just doesn't cover it!! She's so cute in between though I can fogive her.

Quite scary now to think I'm going to have to be next to pop. Arrrghhhh!!!

Elibean · 24/12/2008 21:43

Merry Christmas all! Both dds in bed, ailing mother ditto, stockings to stuff and dh has lost the instructions for cooking the mini-turkey but hey ho. We have mistletoe, so I have to forgive him

LenniEd, you are next to pop, tis true, but it won't be tomorrow (famous last words?!) so here's hoping BX leave you alone and SPD too and you get to enjoy being great with child and festive

Wishing all of you peace and fun in equal measures, and Indith I hope you are enjoying your daughter, that ds is sleeping ok and well, and that you all have an extra special day.

jabberwocky · 25/12/2008 02:41

Congratulations Indith! I'm so glad the birth went as you had hoped.

Dh and I are exhausted from all of the holiday visitors and other goings on. I am currently willing myself to stay awake longer than the dcs so that Santa can make an appearance...
