Here we go. I thought the title was apt as ds2 has morhed into a stroppy little horror overnight. His favourite expression at the moment is 'I cwoss with you, I sceam at you AAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH' .

Happy Birthday ToddlerJabber and ToddlerEli .

DD is poorly again. I swear every bug in the vicinity has some kind of magnetic attraction to her . She has a bit of a temp, headache and earache today. I need to buy shares in Calpol and Medised I think.

Aoa, hotel is a very good idea - go for a posh one so you can have a vvvv hot, deep bath!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
LenniEd · 18/12/2008 22:05

Eli - I'm not having a baby. Not after hearing the finer details of my friend's delivery will save sharing for after Indith has had hers, not for a pregnant woman's ears/eyes! If only I'd been spared no definitely not having a baby now. This one can have his 18th in my belly for all I care now I am not giving birth. No no no no no.

babypowder · 18/12/2008 22:07

Ooh, I think someone has to break that 11lb+ barrier ...

Elibean · 18/12/2008 23:55

LenniEd, think about this carefully...an 18 yr old partying away in your belly? Are you sure you don't want him/her out sooner?!

Elibean · 18/12/2008 23:56

dd just woke up coughing and choking on tonsils and mucous

She was better after she'd been sick, but its just horrid. It scares her, and me, and dh. dd1 thankfully sleeps through anything at this stage of the night!

Sorry, disgusting I know, but am a bit shaken and it helps to write it down before bed

TisTheSeasonToBeSolo · 19/12/2008 00:19

I hate it when kiddies are ill my Dd is not good at all either...I can't believe she's 2 next week! my baby's not a baby anymore...

Indith · 19/12/2008 09:03

Yes save it til after the birth please Lennied

I'm not having a baby either. Have yet to see how ds is today but having said no tantrums we had the mother of all of them when I asked if he wanted his dinner...didn't even get as far as putting food in front of him. He just gets so distressed at being offered anything. Probably just a sore throat with the flu. Hope so anyway! He woke at 5.38 today in need of calpol to start his day. DH is now on the lemsip and I am knocking back paracetamol while being in denial about the headache and dodgy throat.

Nope, def not having a baby!

On the plus side being up so early ds and I have already been to the supermarket and ds is still fast asleep in the pushchair. Just waiting in for the MW now but doubt we'll go to toddlers even if she does come early enough.

Eli I am hoping that the days fly by until the op, the poor girl must be as fed up of it as you are. Glad she asked for food though

bebespain · 19/12/2008 09:40

Hope nobody minds me making an appearance...
Its been ages since I posted although I have "popped" in from time to time to see how you all are, just too bloody lazy to write anything

Anyway I wanted to wish all you lovely ladies and your even lovlier LOs a FANTASTIC Christmas - hope its restful and peaceful for you all!

Go away all you nasty bugs and viruses grrr

Indith and LenniEd - wishing you lovely, painfree births!!!! Any day now...!

It was DS 2nd Birthday yesterday (how is that possible?) We had a lovely day and DS was most impressed with his selection of dumper trucks and the like which is his ABSOLUTE obsession at the moment. The first word he says every morning is "truck" - am starting to get a little worried now....

Oh and I am expecting baby no2 at the beginning of June

Lots of good wishes to you all

Will try to make more effort in the new year...

Indith · 19/12/2008 11:05

Congratulations bebe and a MErry Christmas to you too. Now next time you pop in you post something do you hear me?

castlesintheair · 19/12/2008 14:52

As long as it's not a word that sound's like "truck" but starts with "f" Bebespain Welcome back and congratulations!

Elibean · 19/12/2008 14:59

Congrats Bebe

Indith, you're not catching it too, are you? Remind your body that its got super-charged immunity (though come to think of it, mine seemed to have first time around but caught everything whilst pg with dd2 )....hope ds is better soon, and you get enough rest to fight it off.

dd2 still eating better, but sleep apnoea dreadful. Think I'm going to be boring you all with daily updates till 13th Jan but it does sort of save my sanity.

dd1 is at the dentists having a filling (aaargh, she's 5 on Monday and I didn't have any till I was an adult, even though she's far better brushed than I was ) and condescended to go with DH which means I have a whole hour with dd2 sort of asleep to myself

Indith · 19/12/2008 19:51

Update us all you need Eli

Think I'm managing to hold it off. Dh def has flu not man-flu though as he is shivering away. Ds has had a fever all day though has eaten much better even though it took calpol and ibuprofen to get his temp down this pm.

Elibean · 19/12/2008 19:58

You poor things...real flu has hit so early this year, loads of people down with it around here. My neighbours' dds both have it, my dd1 had it, half the school have it.

Seems to be about 5-6 days of high temps (kids, less for adults) and cough. Watch out for chest infections at the end of it, too, 'cos its a coughy one. Poor ds, hope he has it mildly!

And thanks, I will

AnneOfAvonlea · 19/12/2008 20:26

Agree. I'm only getting over chest infection from flu that started 2 weeks ago. Not nice.

accessorizequeen · 19/12/2008 20:44

Congrats bebespain, how wonderful for you!

Sorry to hear of all the poorly lo's & mums, ds1 missed last 2 days at school as he's got a temp, nasty sore throat etc and just looks awful.I'm so unnused to him being sick, don't know how those of you with dc's who are often sick do.

must go to bed, I've got to force myself even though ds3 up most of last night.I just like the quiet I think, I get my sanity back once they're all in bed by 7.30.

LenniEd · 19/12/2008 21:01

Congratulations Bebespain!! What good timing too - just in time for the nice weather.

Indith - wishing you and DH and DS a speedy recovery. Keep warding off those germs!

AQ - Hello! Have been meaning to email you all week. Will do it soon, have got the dreaded DM visiting tomorrow so once that is over I can relax and breathe! Hope DS1 better in time for xmas, and you are ok. Sending sleep vibes to DS3 too

Eli - keep on telling us, anything that helps in anyway is a good thing. Glad she is eating better, definitely a good sign. Not long now
And no, the 18yr old doesn't sound like such a good idea, but honestly I have been completely terrified by my friend's birth and have gone from being very relaxed about it all to completely horrified at the mere thought.

bebespain · 20/12/2008 07:46

Thanks for the Congratulations! It felt a little like first day back at school after a very long absence yesterday!

Castles - that´s so funny am LOL here Definitely begins with with "t" I think....

AQ - How´s life with twins...?

Sorry to hear about all the poorly Mums and LOs - hope you all start to feel better soon

We leave for England on Monday. Ooh can´t wait, my first Christmas at home in 3 years! I have been having sweet dreams about Turkey and Christmas pud for weeks now!

jabberwocky · 20/12/2008 17:06

I am woefully behind!

Congratulations, bebe glad to see you again.

eli, roll on January and operation time!

LenniEd, like it or not, you're gonna have to let that baby out of you, lol.

handbells went well over all. Ds1 went to the second service with me and was a little naughty about not staying in his seat while we were ringing . I had put him in a little chair behind me as we were ringing the prelude and leaving right after. Only he decided it would be great fun to get up and crawl around under the handbell tables while we were playing Mostly people thought it was funny but I was of course mortified. He was banished to his room for quite a while after we got home.

accessorizequeen · 20/12/2008 20:27

hope christmmas in england all you hoped for, bebespain! Are you going to find out sex of new baby? Twins is...um...challenging I think is this week's word

have not heard from indith, in case anyone is wondering! due today I think. surely neither baby indith nor baby lennied will actually appear on christmas day??

how's the eating going, eli and the party?

handbells sounds great, despite ds1, jabber. how nice to do something other than work and children! How're you and dh about your friends feeling these days? Have you seen the girls?

my poor little ds is really full of it, virtually hoarse and red-eyed, not eating anything. It is quite relaxing having him ill though, he napped most of the afternoon and hasn't asked a question all day. I'm sure I'll get bored of it soon and miss my hyperactive little duracell bunny by Christmas!

Indith · 20/12/2008 20:32

Aw Jabber I'm sure he was very cute and you had no need to be mortified. Those chairs you know...so tempting....crying out to be crawled under and investigated

bebe Christmas in the UK, very exciting. Fancy popping by Durham and bringing me some good ham?

Still pg

Dh still ill though I think a bit better. Have been naggin him constantly to make sure he has a continuous cycle of decongestants, paracetamol and ibuprofen.

Ds still on a paracetamol and ibuprofen diet. Has had a fever again today. We are on day 9 now of being ill, at least it is day 9 assuming that the general grumpiness before was due to the sleep problems. I hate to think how long it has been if that is related. If he still has a temp tomorrow then Dr on Monday I think to check throat etc. May actually buy a themometer tomorrow as I always get funny looks when they ask what temp he has been running and my answer is "dunno, just hot!" Am I the only mother in the world who doens't need a bit of plastic to tell he that her child has a temp?

Indith · 20/12/2008 20:33

Doh knew I forgot something AQ! And there you are to remind me. Hugs to your ds too.

Indith · 20/12/2008 20:34

And yes due today...but really after ds did you actually think I'd be on time? Didn't ruin Christmas dinner though

accessorizequeen · 20/12/2008 21:01

Oh, poor ds got to get better for christmas! has he had first haircut yet? ds2 on his 6th tomorrow I think!

am wrapping pressies to my christmas treat to myself - Take That 'The Collection'. Back for Good on repeat !

btw, indith, i was 2 weeks over with ds1 and nearly 3 weeks early with ds2, you never know!

Indith · 20/12/2008 21:26

Take That? Good god woman! No haircut yet, tis really getting to the stage when I should, it reaches half way down his back when uncurled (and all this hat weather tends to flatten it rather).

castlesintheair · 21/12/2008 08:19

How was the party Eli? And DD2?

Well done for lasting this long Indith

Are you feeling better AQ? You sound it.

DH is "enjoying" his 2nd lie-in of the weekend ... not that I'm counting or anything. It was our wedding anniversary too yesterday I shall probably murder him later. Only joking btw. I think.

I get my results on Xmas eve from my overhaul. Hopefully it's not my heart as the ECG looked "ok" to the health care assistant who did the tests. I'd like it to be something in a weird kind of way, so at least something can be done about it and I can get better.

Elibean · 21/12/2008 11:23

Poor ds, AQ, and poor ds Indith too....hope they are both better fast, those mean bugs

Indith, you are wise not to sprog till both your males are well/er! Though tomorrow is dd1's birthday, and I wouldn't advise waiting till Xmas day, hard enough doing double festivites with the 22nd. As if you had a choice

Jabber, bet the bells were wonderful - and however it felt to you (I'd have been mortified too, in spite of myself) I bet ds was great entertainment and a bit of true Christmas child-spirit to everyone else

Castles, know just what you mean, and am sort of hoping they find something clear and simple to fix for you - finding nothing is so frustrating, though reassuring in another way. And thanks for asking, dd's party went very well, she enjoyed most of it (got tired at one point and tearful), loved the presents and music and cake, and had my BF and her dds round to play afterwards.

dd2 ate like a bird, threw up at bedtime, woke coughing at 1am and 5am but not for too long each time, and is definitely not ok this morning. Clinging to me, grumpy, hands in mouth, eating absolutely nothing though has had milk

If my hair isn't pure white by Jan 13th I'll be very surprised.
