leesmum · 13/12/2008 19:58

Sorry Strawberry it took me that long to write my last post we crossed over, is your Ds still chesty? it can take them a while to get over things at this time of year, hope he gets better soon xx

X-Factor= BOYZONE=cheesy bastards

JacksFirstChristmasMama · 13/12/2008 20:02

I'm going shopping and then home to some wine with my feet up. Actually, maybe, hot bubble bath and wine. And book... oooohhhh... this is turning into porn for women, LOL!

strawberrycornetto · 13/12/2008 20:05

Thanks Leesmum. We didn't watch X factor, we are into strictly in this house

sarahmikeharryandrosie · 13/12/2008 20:59

lees m um totally agree, however-

hope everyone is good, how are all these poorly babies doing now?

wave to ginger and family hope you are ok hun, xxxxx

leesmum · 13/12/2008 21:12

Hi Sarah how did the visit to santa go? did you get to sit on his lap [fnar fnar]

I would love JLS to win but i think Alex will

Gill79 · 13/12/2008 21:52

Noooooo - I love Alexandra! Admittedly she's the only one of the finalists I've ever actually seen perform. Am finding the Girls Aloud party distinctly pants btw.

Jacksmama hope I'm not wrong in saying you are our first overseas member. Welcome.

Leesmum how many weeks was the pregnancy you lost? You had quite a year in 07.

Sarah hope your santa visit was not to one of those rip-off places whre you pay thirty quid to see some elves having a fag.

Hope everyone having a lovely saturday night. Me and DP sitting in different ends of the house after a slight difference of opinion as to whether he was being completely patronising in reminding me I would need to wash my hands after handling a very pooey nappy. To put it in context (as if that's not enough) - a) it was HIS nappy to pick up and put in the bin since he had changed it and I did him a favour by offering to dispose of it b) I had just cooked all his meals for next week when I'm going to be at my parents and c) I was just in the door from a special trip to the shops in the pissing rain to get beer for him. oh and d) I deal with 99% of all horrible pooey nappies and can usually manage it without him there to remind me to wash my hands.

Hmmmmmmmmmmm.

Best wishes for all the poorly babies. Hope baby strawberry picks up soon.

leesmum · 13/12/2008 22:02

Hi Gill i don't always wash my hands after changing a dirty nappy..that is unless i actually have shit on my hands

I was 11 weeks when i lost bubba it came as a complete shock just a tiny bit of spotting, and no cramps, yes 07 was a really shit year for me but 08 has been a great one, life goes on eh?

Are you still watching the results? x

strawberrycornetto · 13/12/2008 22:05

Gill, that is such a male attitude. I would have been furious. Don't forget though, nappies are always our responsibility, and our DPs are doing is a favour if they ever change our DCs at all I would pour his beer down the sink!!!!!

Love the idea of DS being baby strawberry - he even looks a bit strawberry blond in certain lights..... He's sleeping quite well so far tonight, I really hope he's turned a corner.,,

Gill79 · 13/12/2008 22:17

11 weeks is really quite late and so close to the first milestone . Poor you.

Yes I am still watching. Still going for Alexandra and just became her FB fan! Although I do find it a little bit too emotional. Too much crying!!!!!

The thing is I was in such a strop that he thought I wouldn't wash them I was stomping round the house slamming doors and actually ended up forgetting to do it! LOL. Had to sneak through to the kitchen and pretend to be pouring myself a glass of water so he didn't notice how long it took me to get round to it

Gill79 · 13/12/2008 22:22

Strawberry I think DP doesn't really mind doing nappies - as long as he doesn't have to do feeding. He finds it very very stressful as all Malc wants to do is get his hands in his food and throw it at his daddy. . I have to take a massive chill pill before starting mealtimes.

And the nappies at the moment are DISGUSTING. Big and beige Think this must be the aftereffects of the tummy bug. Not had any poo chat for a while guys!

Gill79 · 13/12/2008 22:23

BTW not actually on tranquillisers! Figure of speech.

strawberrycornetto · 13/12/2008 22:39

Gill, my DH gets massively stressed by mealtimes too. His worst day was when DS refused bottles when I was first back at work!!!

Leesmum, I had a mmc at 11/12 weeks before I had my DD. It was so sad, but I was "lucky" that I got pregnant with DD straight afterwards. When I mention it, so many of my friends have had similar experiences, I think so many people just don't talk about it. Glad you've had a great 08 though. Me too, I think all in all it was my best year yet, so far

loobyt · 14/12/2008 07:21

Blimey, it was busy on here last night. I caught a bit of X Factor but had to turn over when JLS were performing with Westlife, mad me feel a bit ickky! DS and DH went to bed early so I spent last night sitting in front of the telly with a nice drink, watching me stuff and cuddling up to the doggies

For the last few days when ever DS has tried to pull decs off of the tree I have told him 'no' and he looks back at me and nods his head as if to say 'yes' and carries on doing it, the monkey.

How is everyone doing with sleep? We have one wake in the night but he want to get up for the day at around 5am and its killing me, any ideas to help me get him out of this habit? He is off to grannys today with DH so I will be going back to bed!

Jacksmama - very gealous of your shopping, bath and wine combo, sounds bliss hope you enjoyed it.

loobyt · 14/12/2008 07:31

Ooh and forgot to say, DS went to his first birthday party yesterday, twas very cute he had party for (which he loved, party rings and the like, yum), cake, played pass the parcel and got a party bag to take home with him. I think I'm going to enjoy birthday parties... especially the food! and thanks for asking after him Leemums, hes doing well.

sarahmikeharryandrosie · 14/12/2008 08:48

wanted jls to win, alex is too predeicatbe, ho hum!!!!!

Gill lol at your dh, (wish mine gave a toss enough to question sometimes!!!!) we had a discussion yesterday as he was not feeling to good and said he would not be coming with us to see santa- i totally lost the plot and told him it was fine i would once again play single mom as he clearly don't give a damn!!!!

(i know i overreacted but i am fed up of having to do it all by myself why he deals with himself and his stuff(i think what did it was ds had been saying all week daddy is not coming to see santa as he is too busy!!!!!) (talk about heart breaking xxxx)

i dunno men eh!!!!!

in the end he came with us and we had a lovely time, but i am still annoyed with him.

It is a small nature centre and the santa was fab,he gave ds food for the goats and sheep which ds loved!!!!they both got animal gifts which are really nice!!!! will add a couple of pics, cost the 4 of us £10, bargain imo, DS was so pleased with himself and he asked santa for a bike- phew!!!! thats a relief for the last few weeks he said i don't want a bike now mummy, please can santa bring a skooter!!!(the bike has been in the loft for months!!!!!!arggggghhhhhhh

right gonna stop boring u all now, lol

have a good sunday- and gill, don't forget to wash your hands heehee

sarahmikeharryandrosie · 14/12/2008 08:52

oh looby, glad your ds had a good party xxxxxthey are good but get noiser as they get older!!!!lol

we I have just book ds's for 24th jan(his bday is 22nd- boucny castle and soft play, he is really excited, but the thought of 25 under 5s running round is scary!!!! (i have to feed them all and clear away the mess too!!!!!OMG

anyone got any plans for lo's first birthday yet?????

Egg · 14/12/2008 12:54

Gosh it's been busy on here!

Ginger have been thinking about you a lot. Hopefully you are feeling ok and reading some of the other girls' sad stories on here may bring you some comfort.

Watched X factor on tape this morning. DS1 was gutted Eoghan didn't win but let's face it he didn't deserve to.

I am nursing a killer hangover this morning after going out with DH and his two brothers last night for 7 pints . I hugged the loo for a while before bed but managed to keep everything in!

Strawberry am sad you are still worried about baby strawberry. I hope he is ok. My DS2 was rough for a few days but then suddenly seemed 100% better and hasn't used his inhaler for about 5 days now. Can you get him checked out again?

Gill I would be if DH reminded me to wash my hands, although I do remind him . He does his fair share of nappies at the weekend but certainly doesn't do his fair share of feeding. It is me 98% of the time. He is not keen at all! It is a lot easier now as they prefer my lovely homecooked food and it is so much less sloppy so makes a lot less mess. I made a delicious courgette and spinach cheesy bake thing yesterday for them. I ended up eating lots of it myself .

Am going to book DS1's birthday party tomorrow! Also at softplay place like you Sarah, and they have a bouncy castle too! Not sure how many guests we will have yet, it's not til Feb but want to get it booked so I can get the best time slot.

Not doing anything much special for the twins birthday. It is only 4 weeks to go!!!! Will probably get horribly drunk to celebrate surviving the first year.

leesmum · 14/12/2008 14:48

Hiya Egg am well impressed with 7 pints, there is no way me or my bladder could cope with that amount, good for you for going out and getting pissed on behalf of me and all the other light-weights on here xxx although i dont envy your "loo hugging"

Your cheesy bake sounds nice..recipe please, i'm always on the lookout for something different!

We're not doing much for James birthday it falls on a mon so we'll pick Ds1 up from school and all go for tea somewhere, i've already invited the family round the sun before, you're limited when they're 1 and it's winter time

Sarah your trip out sounds lovely, i was supposed to be taking Lee to our garden centre to see FC but was too ill in the week, i'll have to try and arrange a treat for him this week. Look forward to your pictures x

JacksFirstChristmasMama · 14/12/2008 17:57

Just want to brag report on what I did with my three hours of me-time... went and tried on new nursing bra (was one of those lightly padded ones that are supposed to shape you - I am normall more of a Bravado (sports bra) type girl) and could buy it as it was, ermmm, extremely shaping!! Cue the Victoria's Secret catalogue with the girls whose boobies meet in the middle... I wouldn't be able to keep DH's hands off me, which isn't such a bad thing but I need to wait until I have my little "repair" done in Feb before that sort of thing will be fun again...
Then I went home and napped on the couch for two hours. Was one of those naps that was so deep I woke up all muzzy-headed. Then I went to the grocery so we could eat something other than left-over curry from the night before - I always find curry gets hotter the next day and it was plenty hot the first time; Jackbaby's poo the next day was so fragrant DH turned pale at the thought of having to change him .

We have an Arctic Outflow warning... it's supposed to hit -10 tdoay. Everyone's all in a dither about it. It snowed overnight - highly unusual here except on the mountains. I'm glad I took the plants in last night and covered the hydrangea pots outside but was FUMING to find that the gardeners (we live in a townhouse complex) had pruned my pink hydrangea!! Will have to ring and complain

sarahmikeharryandrosie · 14/12/2008 19:13

jacks your day sounds lovely, but very cold

glad u enjoyed your me time xxxxx

rozzyraspberry · 14/12/2008 19:25

Hiya all - god its been busy on here!

hi jacksmama. I'll have to stop complaining about how cold it is here at the moment -10. I'm only feeding lo twice a day now so treated myself to a few normal wired bras recently which are far better at shaping than some nursing bras!!

Hope you're feeling better soon Leesmum - nothing worse than being ill when you have kids to look after.

Well I survived my first week back at work. Was ok - not the gentle run in I'd planned on - I was really busy - got stuck dealing with the auditors despite the fact I've not actually been there for the last 11 months. Got my first payslip for a full month and a bits salary which almost made it worthwhile. Am now on holiday until 7th January.

Ds3 has finished his antibiotics and seemed better at the end of the week but has been quite grumpy again this weekend. He's still eating and sleeping ok though so not too concerned - think its just a combination of the cold and teething. He's started crawling properly now and the sky box is a definite favourite.

Took kids to see santa today. It was the first time we've done that and we weren't sure how they'd be as ds2 is a little scared of santa but it was fine and they both enjoyed it. Ds1 showed him his watch and said 'look it's the watch you gave me'.

School finishes for christmas at lunchtime on Friday so I'm looking forward to having some time at home with them.

Take care all

Gill79 · 14/12/2008 20:19

7 pints!!!!!! 7!!!!!!! YOU ROCK. Even at the height of my drinking powers that would have finished me off but now... wow.

Jacksmama that repair job doesn't sound pleasant. Am I right in assuming this is some damage caused by Jack on his way out? Glad your day was fun. Shame about your hydrangea. I've only been a gardener (and I use the term loosely) for a year since moving to our current hose but have already realised not much is going to survive from little malcolm's grasp. In fact the garden is SOOO baby unfriendly and there's so much work to be done to make it safe even though it's pretty small.

oh dear i hear cryng will try and get back later

gingermumi · 15/12/2008 11:20

Heya ladies am doing better tan I was. Thanks for your kind thoughts EGG, how's life in the eggy household?

Had a really good day saturday - took ds to see father christmas (at Paulton's Park egg, and anyone else nearish to southampton). It was fab, toby loved the grotto to bits and he went on a a couple of rides too. Still feeling a bit vulnerable but getting there.

Am impressed with the partying going on- even when I'm well I have no staying power what so ever... think i must be getting old

Hope all those who are poorly or have poorly los are feeling better today.

On subject of nappies dh does his share an he gets up to Tobes too, he has embraced the whole fatherhood thing totally (he now regrets all the years he said he didn't want his own children which makes the whole mc thing even harder, especially as my age is against me too). Still we have ds and he is fantastic!

strawberrycornetto · 15/12/2008 12:36

Hey Ginger. I'm glad you are feeling a little bit better and that you have your fantastic DS. Just looked at your profile and your DDs are gorgeous too. at your last paragraph though, I feel I'd like to say something positive but it all sounds wrong. Just sending you a [hug] instead.

Am also very impressed by the partying - 7 pints??!! . I would definitely fall over long before then.

Anyone got any Xmas parties planned. My diary looks pretty empty but I cannot wait for my 10 days off over Christmas...
