Thanks so much guys, I always feel a bit bad for coming on and just RAAAAAAnting but it´s one of the few places (the only??) where I do feel i can let it all out and you always understand Runny that quote about tomorrow being a better day is nice. I am also glad i work, it does help keep me sane.

Eddas - for you worrying about ds. N eats really well but on the odd day he doesn´t i find it hard to just be cool and go with it so it must be hard if it´s a regular thing. No matter HOW many people say ´they won´t let themselves starve to death´

at nursery´s and invoicing.. I guess they concentrate on being good with our kids which is the main thing but the admin side of stuff does seem a bit loose. Our bill is different every month with no explanation until I call and ask what is going on. A while ago they even told us to pick N up later because it was a shame to wake him (dh used to go straight from work at 2pm and now goes home, has lunch, and goes back to get him at 3pm) and then billed us the difference without saying anything! bloody cheek.

WR - 8 months of nights sounds awfully hard, have you both decided yet what you are going to do?

n was shattered yesterday so in bed by 7pm with the side effect of waking bang on 5.30 (instead of the luxurious 5.45 we normally get ) but luckily today has been cntent with baby einstein and isn´t demanded i be too active...looks like that´s about to change though...

xx

runnyhabbit · 28/11/2008 10:19

Sorry for pants typing/
Frosty here this morning,looks magical.xx

Maveta · 28/11/2008 10:47

Hello! Can´t help either re. coffee machines.. my parents use one but i reckon they are overrated.. we use an expresso pot on the hob and it makes fantastic coffee.. no help at all really

Just had an awful scare. i stepped out of the door at the top of our stairs (we live in a 1st floor flat) and pulled it shut behind me to get a bag of veggies that were sat at the bottom of the stairs (about 10 steps??) as soon as i had stepped out Noah rushed up behind me and shut and bolted the door from the inside!!!!!!! it is a door with 2 seperate locking systems, one outside and one inside so no way to open it! OMG i just about died. Had to run and get an old woman to watch the door (no keys for main door and no phone on me) and ran to the police which are thankfully only about 200m away. Felt like such an ah* when the policeman said `I presume he´s asleep´ [WAAAAH] No! I´m just a moron Anyway, ran back, policeman coming up with plans involving breaking down doors (totally impractical as N was face-planted against the other side crying and then involving ladders breaking front shutters/windows and me stuck to the door trying to reassure N and not cry myself. Eventually after about 20-25mins and much coaxing he opened the latch himself! (i could hear him still playing with it as he cried and i was going ´come on baby push it, push it hard, come on please open it noah come on sweetheart open the door push push PUUUUUUUUSSSSSSSHHH it darling it push it )

He went straight down for a nap and think i need one too. Lock removal now no. 1 on urgent diy list.

Aaargh.

in light of all this activity, the fact that he is now sleeping and hopefully will for another 1.5 hours and has a horrid cold, do you think it´s a good idea if I cancel the appt we have for a vaccine at 1pm?? (I would have to wake him early to make it in time)?

SOB.

CaptainDippy · 28/11/2008 11:34

I'd cancel Maveta - that is quite enough for one day sweetie xxx

Had a bit of a morning with DH, very tough. sigh. Not much time to post now as need to be getting DD1 from school very soon.

Doobydoo · 28/11/2008 13:55

Maveta and Noah..........Hope you are recovering. What an absolute nightmare.Well done Noah for undoing it.Hope you have a nice chill out afternoon.
Dippy what is up? You have not ben feeling ok for ages and I don't like itLet us know how you are when you get chance.

Bramshott · 28/11/2008 18:23

Blimey Maveta, that sounds scary . I must admit that O shutting the door with me outside it is one of my fears, and I have given my neighbours a key to our back door for this very reason.

Dooby - Pesha is in Somerset.

runnyhabbit · 28/11/2008 18:25

Bloody hell Maveta

Hope you're all feeling better now x

CaptainDippy · 28/11/2008 18:30

Awww, Dooby, that means a lot. It's all very crappy and comlicated, I'm afraid ...

PillockOfTheCommunity · 28/11/2008 19:52

hi ladies

OMG Maveta - I'm torn between saying how scary, and how clever N sounds

OP posts:
oooggs · 28/11/2008 20:30

Maveta - that was scary - glad it is over - and he sounds like a smart cookie as for last nights rant - I go to work so the children go to nursery . If they could go to nursery and I could stay home and potter I would but nursery comes with work as does the money to pay for it.

They are very demanding and I need a break, parenthood is hard, demanding and draining but also rewarding and a pleasure to be part of.

9/10 days eddas I would say I find 11/10 days hard , especially at the moment and here on this thread is the place to rant etc.

8 mths of nights - hard but doable? I don't know mj, dh does days and backs (as you all already know - don't I go on) and has done for most of the time I have been together so I do every other week on my own. Constant as he is working 7 shifts a week. Nights I find hard, not the evening bit but the staying quiet in the day and his messed up eating routine etc...

runny - can't help with coffee as I don't 'do' hot dinks (are from hot choc) far too grown up for me

Sexonlegs · 28/11/2008 20:48

Hi all

Maveta, what a nightmare you have had. Glad it all turned out ok. And, re ranting - pah - that wasn't a rant!!! Hope you are ok xx

Dippy, how are you flower?

WR, I have to say I couldn't handle 4 months of nights with the girls. But, I guess what will be will be.... Hope you are ok. Has that pain come back again that you had?

Oooggs, I would LOVE for K to be in nursery and me to be at home. I find nothing is done to standard as everything is rushed - your case must be even worse. Hope you are feeling ok.

Dooby do, how are you?

How is everyone else?

All ok here. Had a productive morning, picked up K at lunchtime and came home expecting a quiet afternoon with her. As soon as I walked through the door, school phoned to tell me B had fallen over in the classroom and banged her head quite badly. Anyway, to cut a long story short, I ended up picking her up, and really there was no need; she was fine. K has had worse bumps!

WobblyReptile · 28/11/2008 21:41

Hi all.

SOL, funny you should mention my pain. Today it has been quite bad. I am sitting here wincing as it is really bothering me. I was asking one of the girls I work with what she thought and she reckons I should get it checked out. I plan to see how I go over the weekend and head to the GP on Monday if things don't improve. Reckon I will be taking pain killers to be able to sleep tonight, haven't done that in ages
Anyway, enough of my woes, glad K was ok

CD, I really hope you are ok as I know that your troubles have been ongoing for some time. If you want to rant then please do feel free to do it here, but don't feel that you have to share your thoughts with us if you would rather not. We are always here to help (or at least try to) and support. Look after yourself xxx

Maveta, you poor thing, your day sounds awful. So glad you managed to get N to open the door without the need for the police to force their way in. Hope you are feeling calmer this evening

Runny, glad you got the coffee machine sorted, I quite fancy one of those myself!

Off now to take drugs and hopefully get some sleep! Night all xxx

WobblyReptile · 28/11/2008 21:43

SOL, I meant I was glad B was ok

I am forever mixing the names of my own children too!

CaptainDippy · 29/11/2008 08:53

PillockOfTheCommunity · 29/11/2008 19:47

hello
freezing fog here
I made the most of not having the boys this afternoon and went into town. Every year they have a French market and a Christmas Market, this year it's spread across the town, loads of stalls! Found a few bits and pieces for christmas.
M and me are going to make some christmas decs so we have snow spray and glittery stuff, tomorrow we're going out to hunt for fir cones and twigs to use
It's also the santa run so we're off to watch a lot of crazy people dressed as santa run through the town

Hi everyone
Maveta - how scary! But i'm impressed N could follow such a complicated instruction. Lots of days I count the hours till bedtime (his, not ours) and sometimes feel like I've been a bad mummy, they're getting less frequent as he gets older but still happens.
Dippy sorry you're still hvaing trouble with DH
Pillock your plans for tomorrow sound lovely
We had a fantastic time, T loved Sea World and York was very good. He's had a couple of late nights (we left restaurant at 10pm last night & mornings plus loads of sleeping in cars so I thought he'd be wide awake until really late tonight, was dreading it
, luckily he went to sleep at about 9, so won't take too much to pull that back to 8ish in a few days.
Still feeling really sad for my friend, it has spoiled the last few days for me a bit.

NameChaanger · 29/11/2008 21:39

oh fantastic well that's me outed

PillockOfTheCommunity · 29/11/2008 21:44

what have you been getting up to?

OP posts:
NameChaanger · 29/11/2008 21:46

I imagine you know by now but for anyone who couldn't be bothered to search I started an Am I pregnant? thread and it's 3:1 (tests) that I'm not. Trust me to be the one in a million or whatever who gets a false positive

PillockOfTheCommunity · 29/11/2008 21:47

have had a couple of texts from CAZBOLDY today and it's not good news

At 2pm - "Molly is in hospital. Suspected bronchiallitis. Haven't slept properly since Monday night, hopefully she won't need to stay in x"

Just now - "She is staying in. On a drip for fluids and antibiotics"

Have told her I'd let you all know and that we'd all be thinking of them.

PillockOfTheCommunity · 29/11/2008 21:48

I wasn't going to search actually, always seems a bit wrong somehow! You need one of those flash new ones that tell you how long, then you'd know!
