DD has been feeding her baby this afternoon; lifting up her top and cuddling the doll in to her tummy......how cute

FrazzledFairyFay · 08/12/2008 19:34

Ahhhh that's so cute

HaveYourselfAJammyLittleXmas · 08/12/2008 19:45

That is indeed very cute

Ohforfoxsake · 08/12/2008 20:16

Evening all

Just dropping in before clearing out the playpen ready for the Christmas tree

hope you are all well.

been busy here. really, really busy

TheTwelveDAISYOfChristmas · 08/12/2008 20:27

Ah, foxy so that's the secret of keeping little children away from trees

I had a lovely tree when DS1 was 18 months.....and he never touched it. I even had glass baubles and everything!

FrazzledFairyFay · 08/12/2008 20:28

Hello Foxy, how's life with you, other than hectic?

FrazzledFairyFay · 08/12/2008 20:29

Great idea for the tree. We're not having one this year, as we'll be with my parents from 19th and they have a huge one

Ohforfoxsake · 08/12/2008 20:30

tis good. Birthdays out of the way now, so flying headlong into Christmas preperations.

Love it!

How are you guys?

FrazzledFairyFay · 08/12/2008 20:33

We're ok, getting hectic with xmas and move fast approaching, but all under control so far.....

HaveYourselfAJammyLittleXmas · 08/12/2008 20:47

Evening all. We're not having a tree here this year either. We wouldn't put it up until the 20th or 21st and on the 22nd we are going to my ILs anyway. So we're going to let jamlet tug on their baubles instead . And they don't have glass baubles so not such a problem anyway. Will put some decorations up if I can get DH up into the loft next weekend though.

Jamlet was exhausted when I picked her up from nursery tonight. And had a temperature when we got home, so had Calpol, lots of cuddles, and an early night. Hope it's not serious - they have had a case of chicken pox in her room at nursery. By the sounds of it the child with it wasn't infectious when they last saw Jamlet, so fingers crossed.

TheTwelveDAISYOfChristmas · 08/12/2008 20:49

We're........dazed and confused mostly

Got Christmas sorted except some Star Wars lego that DS1 has asked for. I tried to tell him that it's too late as Santa will have got all the presents by this time....to which he responded "but if I haven't finished my letter to Santa, how can he know what I want?" Fair point really.....so Star Wars lego it is!

We haven't got anything for DS2 from Santa...is that cruel? Will DS2 think it odd that he hasn't got anything?

TheTwelveDAISYOfChristmas · 08/12/2008 20:50

I haven't written cards or started finished secret santa yet though.

Ohforfoxsake · 08/12/2008 20:54

Wrap up some bibs for him Daisy you can never have too many bibs

Sorry to hear DD isn't well Jammy. Chickenpox is no problem at this age.

HaveYourselfAJammyLittleXmas · 08/12/2008 20:54

DS2 has everything he needs already Daisy. I don't think it's cruel for Santa not to have anything for him. The only thing I think is that DS1 might think it a bit odd, so you'd better have an explanation ready - or have something wee wrapped up from Santa to DS2.

My nephew was 26 yesterday. I remember his 1st Christmas when my DSis wanted to get him stuff, but admitted he didn't need anything and they couldn't afford anything really. So he had packets of nappies and formula and bibs and babygros all wrapped up so she felt they had something to open for him.

HaveYourselfAJammyLittleXmas · 08/12/2008 20:57

Hiya Foxy. Yeah, it would be good to get it over with (as long as it is over with by Christmas). Mind you, I had it quite young, and then got it again when I was 9 and it was horrible!

OK you lovely London ladies. Me, DH and the Jamlet are coming to town on Dec 20th. If I can persuade DH to let me have an hour of MN time (might be with Jamlet, might be without?) who wants to have a pre-Xmas drink? (Even if it is just a cuppa)

Ohforfoxsake · 08/12/2008 20:59

Ooh, what are you coming to The Smoke for Jammy? I'd love to get away for an hour, but might be tricky. Where will you be?

TheTwelveDAISYOfChristmas · 08/12/2008 21:04

That's a fantastic idea Jammy.....maybe some bigger ME wraps since the XS I bought are no bloody good for my chunky monkey.

We have got him a present from DD and DS wants to go shopping for family presents so he'll have a couple of things; and family will get him something, although that'll probably be vouchers.

So far so good this evening. We have been sort of GFing today (the daytime feeds anyway) and I put him down at seven. Apart from a wee blip whilst DH lifted him to get some wind up.....he's still asleep. I'm aiming to feed him at 10 and settle him upstairs with me for the night. I asked DH if he wanted to come back in the bed.....he said No . I think he is planning on enjoying the sleep he gets on the sofa.

HaveYourselfAJammyLittleXmas · 08/12/2008 21:04

We're mad enough to come into the big city (bright lights! shiny!) just before Christmas to see some friends. That's all, a social call. We are meeting some old school friends of mine with their DCs for some lunch I think, possibly at Nat History Museum, and some friends of DH's for a drink at some point. I just wondered (literally just now so not thought this through at all) if anyone would like to meet up in between. Trouble is would probably have to be central, and I appreciate that might be a pain to come into town just for a drink.

Ohforfoxsake · 08/12/2008 21:07

Trouble is, you've got to keep DS1 convinced. Go on, do him a wee stocking. You can eat the Chocolate Orange then.

Bibs
a book
socks
chocolate orange

Ohforfoxsake · 08/12/2008 21:07

I see the playpen isn't cleaning itself out then.

you are distracting me!

HaveYourselfAJammyLittleXmas · 08/12/2008 21:10

OK, I'm confused. I put the last night nappy from the nappy shelf on Jamlet tonight. Then found that there weren't any dry night nappies anywhere to be found. And when I emptied the machine of the wet nappies I'd just washed after work, the other 5 night nappies we oen were all in the wash. Now I surely must have washed some anppies since Wednesday??? And if not, why didn't Jamlet's room reek? (the nappies were just piled up on the floor , no sweet smelling essential oils to mask the smell or anything)

ImDreamingOfANortyXmas · 08/12/2008 21:11

We've put a tree up and so far so good.....she does touch the baubles and tinsel, but no yanking it yet.

My DD does the same with her baby Daisy....wraps her up in her blanket and pats her back (like I do her), takes her for a walk in the toy buggy and puts her in the highchair and gives her, her own drink ...tis very sweet. Even caught her lying dolly on the changing mat and lifting her legs . right little girlie she is, and I haven't taught her....hopefully this will carry on when the baby is here.

Had a gall-bladder episode this afternoon . We were at the swings and I thought I was getting BH...but when I found myself leaning over the buggy in agony, I realised I needed to get home quick. DD was as good as gold (poor little thing had only been there 5 mins) as I didn't have time to put her back in the buggy, so we walkd back to the car and drove home (only 5 mins away). I threw up as soon as I got in, and when I finished I found her playing with a £5 and £10 note out of my purse and on the computer.....

feel better now, but I did panic a bit .

HaveYourselfAJammyLittleXmas · 08/12/2008 21:17

Poor you Norty. Sounds awful. Hope you're OK. And good for DD being so good about it.

Jamlet has no interest in dolls. We ended up selling the one she had as she had no interest in it at all (other than bouts of yanking up the eyelids to see the eye underneath). She got mildly interested in the toy swing for the baby doll at the children's centre the other week. but someone else had walked off with the baby, so I had to load a toy giraffe into the swing for her to push

TheTwelveDAISYOfChristmas · 08/12/2008 21:18

Has Jamlet discovered that she can reach the shelf Jammy?

DD has recently figured out that the dining chairs can be moved and used to get at things.

Little stocking sounds good foxy.....although I think that he would prefer a box of cherry liquers

TheTwelveDAISYOfChristmas · 08/12/2008 21:25

lol jammy....DD tries to do the eyelid thing with DS2!!!

She does all the baby stuff as well and tries to put nappies on her teddies. We've given her a couple of spare size 1 dispos that were left over. She follows me and "helps" whenever I do something for the baby. Her big cousin got her interested in dollies ages ago though.

Oh, and to give you all a larf....we discovered the other day that DD likes to wash her hands in the cat's water bowl.....and then dry her hands on the teatowel. The same teatowel that is subsequently used by DH and I for wiping dishes.

Eeeeeeeeeew.

How long she has been doing this we have no idea
