TALLULAHBELLE · 03/12/2008 17:38

Evening. DD loving this at the momentbaby queen Great to distract her from the latest tantrum - but unfortunately she has learned the word 'again'.

LeakyDAISYcal · 03/12/2008 17:44

lol tallulah, that's fantastic

Has anyone seen this link to get free books. They'll suit older DCs

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 03/12/2008 17:47

Nursery said jamlet had 2 very loose and horrible nappies this pm. And just half hour ago I was carrying her upstairs when she was violently sick over us both She has had a bath and is now in PJs. I have changed my clothes and will bathe later. She is now lying quietly against my chest, like she did before vomming - hope we've not got more to come

LeakyDAISYcal · 03/12/2008 17:52

Poor jamlet . I hope you're not in for a long night Jammy.

NattyTurkeyAndEggnog · 03/12/2008 17:54

aw poor DD jammy, theres alot of it going around atm, just praying we wont get it here till AFTER the move lmao

trace2 · 03/12/2008 17:56

oh no poor jamlet, hope shes better soon.

thanks daisy

TALLULAHBELLE · 03/12/2008 18:17

Thanks for link Daisy. Talking of free books, did everyone get their latest bookstart pack from the local library? We got a pack of chunky crayons & scribble pad and 2 great books, 'Chocolate Mousse for Greedy Goose' and 'I'm not Cute'. All in brill little book bag. DD is getting the books for Xmas - stingy mummy .

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 03/12/2008 18:31

Poor Jamlet, she was asleep by the end of Charlie & Lola. She'd had some water to drink but refused bread to eat, which is normally her favourite thing. And now she's in bed asleep, which is really early even for her. I hope she's OK, I don't fancy having to strip and change the cot in the night.

Off to have a bath myself now and get rid (I hope) of the faint smell of vomit.

LeakyDAISYcal · 03/12/2008 18:36

DD is in bed as well, but she is in disgrace for trying to tip Bumba out of the bouncy chair and then repeatedly switching the TV off.

I hope jamlet is better tomorrow.

I didn't realise there was another Bookstart pack to get....must ask the HV next time I'm at the clinic.

trace2 · 03/12/2008 18:38

is this the set you got? from hv
www.bookstart.org.uk/Parents-and-carers/Packs/Parents-Bookstartplus

TALLULAHBELLE · 03/12/2008 18:40

Poor Jamlet. Hope she feels better soon.

Two more to get Daisy - one now & then a pre-school treasure chest. Fab idea .

TALLULAHBELLE · 03/12/2008 18:43

That's the one Trace but the books can be different. Got it from the library but have heard that HV/clinic give them out too. I only see the HV at injection time so have never got anything from there.

LeakyDAISYcal · 03/12/2008 18:49

When DS was little there was only the 7 months plus one. We'll pop out to the library tomorrow and get one; DD is very into drawing at the minute so she'll love it.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 03/12/2008 20:01

We got the 18 month pack a couple of months ago from our library. They were passing a load out and I said she wasn't 18 months yet but they said not to worry, just have it early. She loves the crayons (but prefers her felt tips) and I'm keeping the drawing pad they included for her to use one page every month - that way it should last for a couple of years and we can have a record of how her drawing has improved with time. She has plenty of other paper to scribble on in the meantime. I forget what books we got

LittleMissNorty · 03/12/2008 20:04

Evening

Jammy - hope DD is OK and you don't have a long night.

I only got one lot of books that the registrar gave me when DD was registered.

Oh I'm starving....cheesy vegetables and chips tonight....mmmmm.....

M&S doing 24 hours 20% off tomorrow....when I done that last week, with free delivery as well and buying their 3 for 2's, I got £67 of stuff for £27.30.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 03/12/2008 20:12

Thanks. Haven't heard more than a murmer from her since she went to bed. I will go check on her in a bit though.

Mmmm, left over mash (potatos and root veg) with bacon for tea. DH had liver & onions with his, but I hate liver.

Bumperlicious · 03/12/2008 20:32

Hello all

Natty, I'm so sorry you are having a shit time, hope it gets sorted.

I'm feeling a bit blue as I am having a tough time at work here, plus, and this is really stupid, but I've been left out of the Xmas do. I'm not going to our large team one as I can't afford it but we are supposed to be having a small team one. I was to arrange it and there was no date in December where all 10 of us could make it, which is fine, I said lets do it in Jan, but the boys all got huffy and said that was silly, we should do an impromptu thing and whoever is around can go. I disagreed and said it wasn't fair someone was going to be left out. So one of them set up a spreadsheet and they said whatever day the most people could make we would go out. Well, there were two days, one when only I couldn't make and one when the new girl couldn't make it so it was agreed that it was more important for the new girl to go out with the team. That's fair enough but I am left out, which is shit, I'm not doing anything else for Xmas, yesterday I went out with 3 mummy friends and I was the only one not eating as I couldn't afford it, and now I am missing my team do. I'm know I am being a big baby but it sucks and I am going to feel so left out. They are all going out on monday, but I promised a friend I would look after her DD while they go to a comedy night. Feeling a bit blue, and pissed off at no money.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 03/12/2008 21:14

Bumper, it is not stupid to be p'd off at being left out. I was annoyed last year that I was left out of the Secret Santa. We open the gifts between courses at our work Christmas lunch and they remembered to invite me to the lunch but not the SS, so I had to sit there watching everyone else get presents with nothing for me. It must be much worse to not get to go out at all, even if you know it's not a deliberate "let's leave Bumper out of this" plot.

I posted on your other thread too, but basically want to say sorry it's all so rubbish for you atm and I hope you have a much better time soon. It's a new year just a few weeks, maybe that will be the turning point eh? (if it doesn't happen sooner!)

LeakyDAISYcal · 03/12/2008 21:36

bumper, given everything else that's going on at work, I'd feel a bit miffed and upset as well and that they had deliberately excluded me. Mind you, given the general level of wankery in your team, I'm not sure you're missing out on anything really.

I hope things settle down for you soon. You're welcome to come to Leeds for a night out any time

Bumperlicious · 03/12/2008 21:50

Thanks guys, been consoling myself with Green and Black icecream (was half price in sainsbos). The problem with this is that it probably bothers me more than it would anyone else. I'm prone to regular bouts of paranoia and sobbing fits or nobody likes me, I have no friends etc. I hate being left out of things, even in legitimate circumstances and can be very irrational about things like that. My school days have got a lot to answer for

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 03/12/2008 21:59

Hey Bumper, I know exactly what you mean in that last post.

Bumperlicious · 03/12/2008 22:37

Crap isn't it Jammy?

Right, off to bed, day off tomorrow, yay! And DH starts new job.

Hope the Jamlet was ok.

justbeme · 03/12/2008 22:45

Bumper sorry you are having a bad time - I too can identify with what you just said. Hope things improve for you soon.

ps Jammy, hope Jamlet is ok - i had the night from hell last night - L threw up twice in her cot, had to bath her at 0100 and then wash her down and change bed again. Ive run out of bedding!!

Hope Natty and Trace and everyone else is ok.
