Morning. Just getting ready to visit friend & her new DD born 2 weeks ago. Not sure if the sight of a newborn with fill me with excitement or dread about what I have ahead. Hopefully the former but .

I have been signed off again by my doc but this line will take me up to my mat leave so no more work for me - yay .

Ria - the school should only use washable paints or the kids should be wearing aprons/ painting shirts. If they don't bring something to cover their clothes then either they miss the lesson or take the risk of clothes getting stained. That's their parents' responsibility. It is not your responsilbility to pay for inevitable splashes. Only exception would be if DS deliberately chucked paint at her which obviously didn't happen.

Thanks Tbelle - I love you!!!

(of course now I've been all defensive it'll come out he did it on purpose. I hope not though)

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 26/11/2008 18:57

I was going to post on here earlier, but Jamlet was so demanding today I didn't get the chance to.

This is what I was going to say:

Toddler available - free for postage!!

Honestly, she's driven me demented today. Largely because she just refused to nap, so was grumpy and irritable and mischievous all day. I'm so sick of the sound of whinging and crying. And I'm exhausted after a poor night's sleep last night on top of the rubbish start yesterday The power station thing at the end of our road is still broken so it seems and although they are keeping the power on, the price is a big van at the end of our street, just a couple of hundred yards away from us, with some form of generator running continuously, so there's this background hum of engines and stuff all the time. Sure it was that that upset my sleep last night. And now I've got 2 hours of work to do.

NattyTantrumAndEarAche · 26/11/2008 19:18

aww jammy so sorry to hear that
i hope you get some sleep tonight, and i second you on the toddler sale..
buy-one-get-one-free in my case...

Ohforfoxsake · 26/11/2008 20:40

Lordy, quiet on here!

LeakyDAISYcal · 26/11/2008 20:47

I'm here. In between feeding and walking the floor with a screaming baby.

He is having his middle of the night to do a bit early tonight....will this mean we'll get a decent night?????

Sputnik · 26/11/2008 20:56

I'm here too.
Daisy, fingers crossed he is shifting it a bit earlier.

LittleMissNorty · 26/11/2008 21:05

I'm here as well. Trying to do an on-line ASDA shop as they have just started delivering in my area....its hard work starting from scratch though .....

god Daisy....hope he sleeps tonight

Hiya Foxy / Sputnik

Hiya Norty

Ohforfoxsake · 26/11/2008 21:17

hey you lot!

LeakyDAISYcal · 26/11/2008 21:20

lol norty, at least you'll only have 21 month old having tantrums......we had full on throw himself on the floor and kicking tantrum from DS tonight . We just laughed at him and told him we'd listen if he calmed down and talked to us!

was at the physio today regarding my pelvic floort ishoos. got to go back in three weeks for further investigations including VE and an electrode up my foof to measure the strength of my undercarriage.....but, hey, I didn't need a C Section

Ohforfoxsake · 26/11/2008 21:21

I've been looking for nativity costume. DS1 is a narrator, and frankly buying something costing nigh on £20 for two lines is not only pointless, but feels like I'm selling-out.

One of DPs dodgy stripy shirts, one of his old waistcoats and a teatowel on his head. What do you think?

LeakyDAISYcal · 26/11/2008 21:21

oops...that should say DS1.....can't get used to having to say that!

Ohforfoxsake · 26/11/2008 21:22

oooh Daisy something not to look forward to

LeakyDAISYcal · 26/11/2008 21:24

sounds like a fab costume foxy.....add an S belt to keep the towel on his head and I'm right back in 1976!!

Ohforfoxsake · 26/11/2008 21:26

ahhh yes, and S belt. off to google ...

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 26/11/2008 21:29

I reckon your home made costume will be just fine Foxy - it's what nativities are all about isn't it? (Well, apart from the story of course)

Daisy good luck with those PF investigations.

Well once I got going with my work I perked up and it flew by I just hope jamlet is better disposed tomorrow. Otherwise we won't be taking her to the town Street Fair/Christmas Lights Switch On. It's got a James Bond theme this year so DH is happy to go. But fingers crossed, a couple of years ago they turned the lights on and the whole town went into darkness (apart from the Christmas lights and accompanying fun fair ), and we've had enough power cuts this week already thank you!

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 26/11/2008 21:30

I mean the street fair is Bond themed, not the christmas lights. I am glad to say we have the usual santas, snowmen and candles on the lamposts, not Jaws, Goldfinger and 007

LittleMissNorty · 26/11/2008 21:32

Blimey Daisy......I'm still debating the VBAC / CS thing (currently on the latter).....been having horrible dreams about huge heads trying to squeeze out of my fanjo ....not ever having done it naturally, I've no idea what its like, and to be frank, it scares the shit out of me....

Costume sounds great Foxy....

Meant to say to Jammy as well if you're around, that we also have a toddler going here....how I'm going to manage when on mat leave and I only have a day a week when she is at nursery I really don't know. she has developed a very strong attachment to her blanket, and I'm not even allowed to carry the fucking thing.....by the time its been dragged across the car-park at nursery, its covered in leaves and shit, but no, no-one else is allowed to touch it

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 26/11/2008 21:36

Ah no blanket/toy attachment here, thankfully. Just a very strong willed little girl, who decides she just isn't going to sleep thank you, but that she is going to smack her toy (or just her hand) into the flat screen TV screen (making it go all wobbly) over and over again.

Repeat removal of small child from the TV doesn't so any good. Nor does putting her on the "naughty step". She doesn't like it, but it doesn't stop her doing the wrong thing in the first place. And this afternoon she even got herself off the step and crawled back into the living room . Any ideas??

monster fed and is being burped by DH.....I'm off to bed.

Have a nice time at the fair Jammy. I'm looking forward to DD's reaction to Christmas this year; she has already shown that she loves presents by "helping" us unwrap things we have been given for Fin.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 26/11/2008 21:41

Aw thanks Butterfly, but I think I might keep her after all. You will first to know if I change my mind though And well done on the big trip out! Remind me - how many have you got?

Been meaning to say that we might be coming up to St A's next summer. A cousin of DH's is getting married, and we might be invited. Not sure yet, but her sister got married there 2 or 3 years back and we were invited then. Will let you know if we are and see if we can meet?
