Glad the bank sorted you out quickly Daisy.

Yay for Joseph and bah! about splashing Ria - hope you don't have to pay up. If it was accidental that really (yes Rially ) doesn't seem fair.

We had a better journey on the bus today. But we had a power cut again when we got home, which lasted about 2.5 hours. DH had got a load of candles out, and found a torch, and after jamlet was in bed we hunted round in the near dark to find something easy to cook. Had just got it sorted and the power came back on. Good that I can MN and we can watch TV, but was quite nice in the candle light tbh, though cold because the heating went off too.

Ohforfoxsake · 25/11/2008 21:07

Watch those powercuts Jammy. Responsible for the '70s baby boom you know

Thanks Butterfly, I did

I actually went and looked I was insanely proud when I saw it too

well, it did take me 10 bloody months to come up with it!

You are welcome Daisy. Its only a small Life Organiser from Organised Mum Daisy now you are a mother of 3, I thought it would be useful .... DH needs to buy you a new handbag to put it in BTW.

Did I mention I have wrapped DPs family presents?

I know, smiley overload in this post

Ohforfoxsake · 25/11/2008 21:10

And Ria, that is utterly shit if they make you buy a new uniform. Was it new this term? Can't they just get something decent from the secondhand sale? Go and have a scout around lost property, find the most decent, wash it and give that to them.

LeakyDAISYcal · 25/11/2008 21:15

well we went for our photography preview......and the images were great. We have dipped into our savings and gone for one big image of all three of them and one small image of each of them. We got it wrong though and thought the price he told us was before applying the £150 voucher we had......but when DH went to pay we were informed that it was after . So then we were in the awkward position of thinking "yikes how much?????" but not feeling like we could say No, and neither of us wanted to make the decision. Anyway we decided to go for it on the basis that it was a once in a lifetime thing and hell who needs to eat anyway. I'll scan the images and post them up when we get the prints....and then copy them for giving to all the rellies

Ohforfoxsake · 25/11/2008 21:18

Wasn't Venture was it by any chance?

Is the print in a frame? You might not be able to take it apart to scan the print.

I would love to have one of those lovely pictures done, but would never be able to choose just one!

Ohforfoxsake · 25/11/2008 21:19

Sorry Daisy, that wasn't helpful of me . Its just those places are so manipulative.

LeakyDAISYcal · 25/11/2008 21:20

agree on the uniform Ria. you shouldn't have to pay for it if it's the school's responsibility to make sure the kids wear protective clothing.

good news on DS2 getting Joseph though. It's the must have role of the school calendar

lol foxy at the handbag.....and so, funnily enough, did DH

LeakyDAISYcal · 25/11/2008 21:25

yes it was Venture.....and DH is pretty sure it will come apart. We just went for a bog standard image in a frame, not one of the fancy schmancy frames they do.

And ikwym about the images. I wanted to take them all (apart from the ones with DH and I in!!) although there was a nice one of me and the baby.

DH is resolved to get his photography studio up and running as, and I quote, "It's money for old rope really, isn't it?". I could do the people skills and he the clicking of the shutter.

Ohforfoxsake · 25/11/2008 21:37

The pictures will give you a lot of pleasure and you will never regret having them done.

Bumperlicious · 25/11/2008 21:38

I'm back! I've finished my novel, all 50,121 words of it and uploaded it to the Nano site and downloaded my certificate - 5 days early!
Wooo hoooo!

By the way, re your earlier post sputnik you may be able to read it sometime but not before I have done some serious editing, I'm not touching it now till after Christmas.

Ria, that's brill news about DS2 and Joseph, but pants about the uniform - feckers!

Daisy, v crap about your card.

Foxy, get you with your presents all wrapped. I don't have that problem here as we aren't buying presents for anyone except our mums this year (oh, and one of you lovely ladies . It's actually very liberating not to have to worry, though obviously we won't be getting any presents ourselves, except maybe from our mums . Still, I'm sure DD will get spoilt by everyone and she'll really enjoy it this year.

educatingRia · 25/11/2008 21:40

thanks for the uniform sympathy. I can only hope her mother is of the "you should have worn your apron" school, but I just have a feeling not. DH is not impressed and won't pay up easilY. Until we find out there's no point me fretting I suppose.

will be an early night here tonight, DH has to leave by 4am to be in Kings Lynn in the morning to get started with this catering job. If he could get 2-3 days per week with this company in the run-up to christmas is would be(but that won't happen). Just hope the benefits agency know what they're doing this time. Last time they told him it would be fine as under a certain amount of hours, then they told he he wouldn't get any JSA at all because it had been too much, and finally (by the time I'd nearly had another nervous breakdown) they posted him a giro for the money they had said he couldn't have. I cannot do with that stress again. Not before christmas.

Toast and tea for supper tonight. I aren't convinced Mama Mia was worth giving up my glass of wine for though (why did Colin Firth have to be gay??)

educatingRia · 25/11/2008 21:46

well done bumper. don't forget your SS prezzie from one of us too. Take lots of photos of DD and make yourselves a scrapbook after christmas as your special gift to yourselves. And you and DH could do "promise" gifts for each other (doesn't have to be that kind of promise though)

I have presented DH with a list (that the boys know off by heart) - pink spptty PJs from Asda (£5) and some pink slippers. And DS2 has bought me some £1 earrings (that I need to forget about!). No doubt I will buy DH socks and boxers, and maybe a new dressing gown if I can find a bargain (or I might ask DM to buy that). Not much frivolity, but needed.

OP posts:
Bumperlicious · 25/11/2008 21:52

Thanks ria. I need pjs as well. I have only one pair that don't have holes in them!

Sputnik · 25/11/2008 22:08

That's a nice idea about the scrapbook Ria.

I'm on my own again as DH off on his travels again, although back on saturday. DD was really upset this time for some reason, maybe because we didn't see him off as usual but he just went to work and left from there. Anyway she's sleeping in my bed tonight (nothing to do with me wanting someone warm to share with )

Sputnik · 25/11/2008 22:10

Oh and congratulations on your DS2's starring role

LeakyDAISYcal · 25/11/2008 22:16

I'll never be left on my own again

Actually, DH and I are getting on like a house on fire, considering the sleep deprivation and the fact that this is the longest we have spent in each other's company without a break for nearly two years! this time last year we would have killed each other after a fortnight. Mind you, we are taking it in shifts to eat and sleep at the minute, so we don't spend that much time actually together.

King's Lynn Ria....that's one hell of a commute!

well done again bumper. I'm looking forward to joining you next year!!

right....tits oot then bed for me

night all!

educatingRia · 25/11/2008 22:17

DS1 is pissed off with DS2 cos he only ever got to be the innkeeper/a shepherd

DH has (ok, I did it for him) applied to a couple of temp agencies today. I don't want him going away for weeks on end like he used to, but I'm sure a 3/4 night stretch would be ok. If it means he can get back to work for a bit I'll have to manage. He would be a lot happier. He'll be back from tomorrows job by breakfast on Thursday. (so he''l be in bed all dat)

No doubt I will have both DS2&3 in with me by getting up time.

OP posts:
educatingRia · 25/11/2008 22:18

that's if we bother get up...

educatingRia · 25/11/2008 22:19

Bumperlicious · 25/11/2008 22:46

Night guys

Bumperlicious · 25/11/2008 22:50

Btw Jammy I did answer the orginal set of SS questions, right at the bottom! But I didn't realise there were more.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 26/11/2008 07:42

Ooooh, sorry Bumper, I obviously didn't scroll far enough

educatingRia · 26/11/2008 08:18

has everyone answered then?

hmm, am thinking DH should be there by now, but no text yet.

Pah to hands-on parenting. Don't children have a concept of dark=sleep? I don't do mornings.

OK best get on!
