Evening all

LaT that was lovely , we were heading of to Lapland uk! And remember struggling in them last couple of weeks at work! Seems ages ago.

JKS wow some bargains there ! Have found a peppa pig website tonight so dd1 has been playing on here for ages , she is Peppa mad.

Lucky dd got really sore bum too think it must be another tooth!

Gingeme no it wasn't as cold but was really wet and windy as it was touch and go whether the lapland thing would be on.

Still lot's of snow here , we have an igloo and snowman on our lawn. Looks nice as neighrbours have got all their xmas lights , trains, reindeers etc out very festive.
Hope it's gone tom though and normal buisness resumes

Oh and have a bid on my wolves Simpson so they will be going to a good home i hope!

LilySwalLoosHerTurkeyBaster · 02/12/2008 20:26

oh nice xmas name JKS can still use the abbreviation!

HarkTheHeraldAngeChica · 02/12/2008 20:33

Getting in to the festive spirit!

Really mixed feelings about that old thread... all that worry and it was all OK in the end. It was a very busy thread! Lots of old friends on there.

DH camped in with DS last night so I got a night off because I was starting to get to the demented stage re broken sleep. However it was so cold the dog got up on the bed and LEANED in to me as close as he could for half the night.

MadLyCarrolingChristmasMouse · 02/12/2008 20:59

Well had a stab at a Christmas name, but not feeling very inspired.

Have been reading lots of the old thread that LaTrucha posted and I must say it was lovely but also quite hard, as for me that was an age of innocence, of not knowing that so much would go wrong. I had such a straightforward pregnancy after all. Shocked to see how many old friends we have lost along the way. Ayreshire Lolo, Naetha, Fruitful to name but a few. But we gained lots of new ones

This will be our first working Christmas. My office will close for Christmas eve and not open until 5 January, but for dh it is a very busy time of year. he is preaching at the midnight service and we will no doubt be expected at the Christmas day service and that will be it. Before that it will be an endless round of carol services, crib services, nativities etc. We will then have Christmas lunch for three (will ask the butcher for a recommendation), but we have close friends coming on boxing day with their little girls.

NotACreatureWasStirringNotEvenMadMouse

or is that too long ???

Ange like it and of your night off!

MadLyCarrolingChristmasMouse · 02/12/2008 21:07

Lily thanks I like it, but it seems very long. i will sleep on it .

Gingeme · 02/12/2008 21:12

Oh oh thinking madly of a Christmas name.
DH and I were talking about this time last year and how we were all keeping the Gaviscon company going
Also about how our little George came into the world. When I introduce George to people I call him our bathroom baby

MadLyCarrolingChristmasMouse · 02/12/2008 21:31

ginge I had forgotten, just went off to find your birth announcement, it was an amazing story

Gingeme · 02/12/2008 21:35

Certainly won't forget it thats for sure. It realy was my perfect birth. Its how I wanted ds4 but it just didn't happen

Gingeme · 02/12/2008 21:35

How do you change youe name?

MadLyCarrolingChristmasMouse · 02/12/2008 21:46

go to my registration, then registration details, you can then change your nickname in the box.

How about IRatherHaveGingemeBreadThanTurkey

Gingeme · 02/12/2008 21:48

Ah yes register. Ok I'll be back with hopefuly a good name.
Like that one. I'll have a think xx

Gingemejinglybells · 02/12/2008 21:51

Did that work?

Gingemejinglybells · 02/12/2008 21:54

Yay. ok ladies off to bed. Have a good night all xxx

AaliyahsFirstXmas · 02/12/2008 22:05

This is mine - boring but I dont care.

We can't let her have nappy off cos the germs will spread and either one of us will get it as well or she'll pick it up again (according to HV) I kinda get it but I know it would heal so much quicker with no nappy.

Gingemejinglybells · 02/12/2008 22:08

Metanium cream. Its the best stuff i have ever used for sore bums

AaliyahsFirstXmas · 02/12/2008 22:11

Yeh someone told me about that. I'm gonna try to get her a docs apt tomorrow and hopefully get him to prescribe something so that its free.

Although changing her bum this evening it already looks better and the only sore places that are visible now are where it rubs while she's crawling (shes now developed a technique to combat this where she crawls using one knee and the other foot so it can't rub) and in the creases so have plastered it there with the help of DP distracting her

Thanks Ginge.

Gingemejinglybells · 02/12/2008 22:13

Just to let you know it doesn't smell very nice and you will find yourself checking to se if she has poohed a few times spread it thinly too and it will last for ages. Hope her bottoms better soon. [
Realy going to bed now lol xx

AaliyahsFirstXmas · 02/12/2008 22:15

Goodnight and thanks for the advice!! I got a cold so can't smell a thing - probably the best time to use it then lol

JustKeepSingingCarols · 03/12/2008 07:53

Liking all the festive names

of course it was too good to last - H up from 4.30
fed him at 5, he's still asleep now, hmmm.
T up from 5.15.
Both were coughing loads so trying not to be cross about it but really, argh....!
Dh off early to London and not back till late tomorrow
been nice having him home for different days.
Was great to get loads of jobs done yesterday while he looked after H most of the day which made me feel good for getting stuff done but bad as it shows how little i manage to achieve on a normal day!

T off to pre-school later (though we haven't had breakfast yet so running behind!), i have more jobs to do while H hopefully has a nap...then i'm going to brave the door handle shop with them both...may see if we can pop round a friend's later too.

Lucky - sounds like it's clearing up anyway but may as well see the doc for some metanium if you can.

madmouse - will be exciting/scary for your dh this year, his 1st Christmas in charge!
we had a lovely time last year with 3 of us (+bump!) and my sleeping brother.
slightly worried we've taken on too much this year...think we have 9 adults + 4 children under 6 for Christmas dinner....

right, breakfast time!

MadLyCarrolingChristmasMouse · 03/12/2008 09:07

Lucky not impressed with your hv idea of spreading germs. Someone needs to clean her nappies so you will touch her anyway. Just keep her contained, for example in the bathroom and keep washing hands.

MadLyCarrolingChristmasMouse · 03/12/2008 09:08

obviously not for the whole day , but half an hour or so...

LilySwalLoosHerTurkeyBaster · 03/12/2008 10:53

Agree with MM Lucky germs will spread in the household anyway !

Gingeme Like it

JKS on dear we still up a couple of times a night but she has started sleeping in unitl 8ish which means a rush for the school run but feeling lot's better!

MadM sounds like a busy xmas but nice that it is christamssy iykwim!

Managed to get the car of our drive and negate the very steep hill in the snow. Have parked it on the main road now so will be getting fit waliking up and down the hill. But they forecast blizzards tonight so can imagine no school again tommorrow. Not sure what is going to happen with ds choir concert at church though!

Gingemejinglybells · 03/12/2008 17:29

Afternoon ladies. Feel like crap today have a heavy cold and fuzzy head. Ds3 still off with his horrible cough.
Bought some new decs for our tree today. They are all gold and cream. I bought some paper chains too. Won't be putting any up just yet though.
My grandads will money came today. Have opened a savings account with it. Have put some in our joint acct too so will have a comfortable Christmas
A lady asked how old George was today. When I answered nearly 11 months she said 'realy? I thought he was about 2!' I know hes a big lad but not that big.
Well off to make some dinner.
Hope your all well xx

JustKeepSingingCarols · 03/12/2008 18:04

Lucky - hope you've felt better today and A has had some nappy free time? or her rash is better?

Lily - sleep is sounding a bit better for you
Jealous of your snow (or is it envious...!)
not even sleet here...hmph!

Gingeme for you feeling crap. Good news about your grandads money - good that he is giving you all a Christmas present
people are rubbish at guessing ages - i certainly was before i had DCs and even now i can more accurately guess ones that are close in age to mine but still pretty bad at older children
of course i know better than to say things like that though!

had a busy day - started on my Christmas cards this morning, ds1 had pre-school. then we went to door handle shop, got new letterbox for handyman to fit at weekend, but of course the ordered handle was....NOT there! argh. went to charity shop and let ds1 choose some dinosaurs & cars, then to a friend's.
we've all had fish fingers for tea so i should be able to get to bed early once they're in bed. (no dh tonight).

also meant to say i came up with a strange but yummy tea for ds2 yesterday - mashed potato mixed with Philadelphia made into handy sized lumps for him to pick up - he loved it
