Lucky - What about swimming? I remember you said you took DD swimming, do they have a baby swimming class?

Lilyloo - Also like the delivering pressie thing except am not get pressies for neighbours

So far am going to do:
Put "magic key" out for Santa
Leave food for Santa/Reindeers
Read "night before Xmas"
Make reindeer food - will birds eat the oats though?? DH will be cross if lawn ruined!!
Like the choose a decoration each year.

DS not really into films Don't think he would watch an Xmas one...but I might try.

LilySwalLoosHerTurkeyBaster · 30/11/2008 22:00

Polar express is usually ours although Jack Frost good too but a little
Not sure about the birds we put it on the path then i go out with dustpan and brush when they in bed!!

LilySwalLoosHerTurkeyBaster · 30/11/2008 22:01

Although Simpson you can get cartoon ones we have a Peppa one and had a Bob the builder one maybe a little more suitable!

Lucky spk to HV!

LuckySalem · 30/11/2008 22:03

Yeh DD LOVES swimming but I'm too scared to take her as I lost hold of her once and although she was only under the water for about 20 secs it scared the crap outta me and i'm too scared to take her alone now. She's not been for about 3 months. Feel really guilty actually - haven't told DP I dropped her.

They dont have baby swimming just child classes with stipulations of child being over 3.

simpson · 30/11/2008 22:03

Yeah might just stick to path (now why didn't I think of that )

Have got loads of oats left over as DS used to like it for breakfast then toddler style decided overnight he didn't like it!! Just need to get glitter. This that all you put in it?

LilySwalLoosHerTurkeyBaster · 30/11/2008 22:09

Lucky you shouldn't let that stop you. Your fear may rub off on to dd and accidents happen! If i could counf=t the times dd2 has fallen over in the bath!

Simpson yep that's about it. But remember to sweep it up i didn't one year and got some questions the day after

Am off to a pampered chef party tom anyone been to one ?

LuckySalem · 30/11/2008 22:11

never heard of it lily i'm afraid.

I know thats my problem. Like i'm trying my hardest not to pass my fear of heights or earwigs onto her.

I'm not scared of swimming its just i'm not a strong swimmer and if something did happen I wouldn't have a chance of getting to her quick enough. Hence not wanting to go without DP.

I'll try to make myself go tomorrow cos we haven't been for a while and have nothing planned for tomorrow yet.

simpson · 30/11/2008 22:13

Oooh Lilyloo - DS would LOVE a Peppa Pig one!! Where would I get it? Whats it called??

Lucky - Swimming is scary am always in awe of mothers who take their Dcs TBH. DS has only been a handful of times and DD just once (Bad mummy!!)

I think what you need to do is think of something to do each day. It might not even involve meeting people ie going to supermarket or swings etc.

When I stayed at my mum's I didn't know ANYONE and I made myself take Dcs to playground and got chatting to mum's there. OK we didn't arrange to meet up etc but nice to talk to another adult.

simpson · 30/11/2008 22:21

Whats a pampers chef party?

simpson · 30/11/2008 22:21

LOL have nappies on the brain!! Mean "pampered"

LilySwalLoosHerTurkeyBaster · 30/11/2008 22:23

Simpson dd peppa mad i saw it in our local woolies for £4.99 here

Lucky does your local pool have a baby pool ?

LilySwalLoosHerTurkeyBaster · 30/11/2008 22:24

Apparantly sells loads of expensive cook stuuf how do you not buy anything ?

LuckySalem · 30/11/2008 22:25

Yeh i'm trying to do something each day but I can't make myself go out.

We have (normally but different this week)
Monday - Mums
Tuesday - Babyclub
Wednesday - Shopping
Thursday, Friday, Saturday - Nothing (Dp's day off and we never seem to get further than making breakfast before being tired again)
Sunday - Laundrette.

Boring things for a baby but I can't make myself go outside and then I regret it cos DD is bored and wingey. Whereas if I'd just taken her out for an hour she'd be asleep again now and happy.

The reason I never get round to going out is the routine we have.

8am - up
9 - breakfast
10 - nap
12 - up
1 - lunch
3/4 - nap
6-8 - dinner, bath, bed.

By the time she's up from her morning nap i'm knackered and dont want to go out.

LuckySalem · 30/11/2008 22:26

lily - yeh but its always freezing cold so I used to take her into either the jacuzzi bit (but she got bored) or into the wavey bit - kind of pulls you round the pool like rapids but not dangerous, or so I thought till I dropped her.

simpson · 30/11/2008 22:29

Lucky - I know what you mean. Its especially hard when weather is cold too. TBH I HAVE to go out with DS he is too big to be in all day.He would drive me up the wall!!

Could you go out in afternoon and she could drop off to sleep in buggy if she is tired?

Lilyloo - How many other people are going to be at party?

LilySwalLoosHerTurkeyBaster · 30/11/2008 22:31

no idea Simpson it's at my neighbours am beign reccomnded to get a chopper thing on my other thread prob £10+ for a variation of a knife

simpson · 30/11/2008 22:36

Lilyloo - OMG Tenner for a "knife" LOL. Am stumped....if there are loads of people there, you might be able to stay in background iyswim!!

LilySwalLoosHerTurkeyBaster · 30/11/2008 22:38

oh underestimated someone saying £16 a couple of years ago
I may need the toilet at order time

simpson · 30/11/2008 22:42

At £16 I would expect it to cook the dinner as well

Could you get brochure/order form and say you will be hinting to DH for Xmas pressies he is paying/ordering....then not!!

Gingeme · 01/12/2008 10:41

Morning ladies. Still recovering from the weekend with my big boys here. Phew don't think I could have them all living at home any more
We went swimming Saturday. It was fun George realy enjoyed it except it was a bit cold and I hate the pool we went to cause the changing facilties are rubbish. But it had waves and that kind of thing so I went along with it just this once.
Had a not too bad night last night. George went to bed at 7.15 woke at 11 not sure why but settled him with some Calpol and about 4 oz of milk where he slept till 7 Just ashame David woke at 6 coughing his little head off
George is standing more and more now even lets go for a few seconds to stand on his own. Reckon hell be walking by Christmas.
Well happy advent all. If thats what your supposed to say. Opened day 1 of the Mr Men and Night Grden calenders this morning.
Have a good day all. xxx

simpson · 01/12/2008 11:58

Gingeme - Glad you had a good but tiring weekend!! have you got your big boys on Christmas day?

Wonder which Lo will be the first to walk?? Sounds like George might do it. Or maybe Lucky's DD. I can't remember who else was nearly walking

LaT - How was your weekend?

Madmouse - Good luck today.

Gingeme · 01/12/2008 12:04

No my big boys were here the last two years so they will be with their Dad this year. We were invited to my sil for Christmas Day which is brill because her husband was a chef and he does yummy dinners
Yes that will be interesting to see whos lo will be on their feet first won't it?
All the best for today mm

madmouse · 01/12/2008 14:40

Hello

Well, here I am sat in an office
Meeting all morning, about to go and meet all the new people

Bad night, Nathan awake from 2.30-3.30 then milk at 4.30. Of course fast asleep when I left

Had light relief in the form of messages and calls from dh. I had prepared everything but Nathan was too busy playing chatting (I could hear him down the phone) and eating his bib to eat his breakfast. I had put on dh's checklist that if Nathan was too busy to eat take breakfast to childminder, but no, he just kept going until way past when he should have been out of the house 'but but but cannot let him go without breakfast?'. Oh honest, blokes...Will need to show him some more Nathan feeding techniques

Nathan is fine, asleep apparently. y boobs not yet exploding, so far so good

Best off to work...

simpson · 01/12/2008 17:41

Hi all

Not had a great day today

When we were at the party yesterday I caught DS feeding DD a mini pizza. I thought I had got to her in time but obviously not as she has been screaming and straining ALL day. DS came home from pre school and was fidgeting etc obviously needing a wee but would NOT go (been have this EVERY DAY BTW) and I just lost it and screamed so much at Dcs that DS cried and DD went totally hysterical Not my finest moment...

DD is bed already as she is not herself. She has hardly eaten anything all day either Her pead rang today to see how she is doing He might change her milk again if her bum isn't healed by Xmas.

DS knackered and am going to put him to bed at 6.30 tonight. DH is here from tomorrow for four days so that will help

Madmouse - LOL at your DH doing Nathan's breakfast!!He will learn!! I used to give DS bread sticks or sandwich and he used to have breakie at nursery and I found it so much less stressful. Hope work ok.

Lilyloo - Enjoy party tonight. Don't spend too much money I ordered Peppa Pig's Xmas and Polar Express today from HMV (free delivery!!)

Gingeme - Hope last night ok so you could rest from the weekend!!

Angechica - Hope A was ok last night and feels a bit better today.

Lucky - How are you today?

JKS - Where are you???

Hi to everyone else!!

Rubysmom08 · 01/12/2008 17:48

Hello guys... right tried to read through but gosh you ladies can chat!

Sorry to hear that some of you are still having sleeping issues, Ruby went through a phase of waking at 5am but that seemed to stop as quick as it started.

I am having mega problems with eating at the moment she won't let me near her with a spoon only to give her a plum pot of banana and mango and yoghurt. She is really great with finger food and nevers eats it with much gusto so I am at a bit of a loss any ideas?? . I may sound quite relxed about it but I am really stressed as she had that virus for 3 weeks and wouldn't eat but she ate well for a fortnight and managed to put the weight on she had lost, but she is even worse than before now you can't even coax a mouthful in!

I am nearly 16 weeks pregnant now- who else is pregnant then?? I am trying to stay positive but at the moment the thought of two being this difficult is panicking me a lot!

How big are your little ones? Ruby was born 6lb 14oz but only weighs 18lb 6oz at the moment

Ruby is saying mamma now and crawling, she walks along all the furniture and actually climbed the stairs right to the top yesterday - we were watching her to see if she could do it and now we know she can we are permanently securing all gates! She points and plays peek a boo and waves when you say her name which is a bit funny when you are telling her off!

We are having a loft conversion and an extension downstairs in the new year as we are having number 2. I am refusing to leave, my dad lived here with me and dh for a while and we brought his ashes back her for a long time after his death and I just don't want to leave yet. We had a coupleo f viewings and an offer for the asking price but that made my decision really.

Anyone else finding a 10 month old bloody hard work? I am mentally drained by the day and I know it sounds dreadful but some days I just don't like her! I love her intensely don't get me wrong but sometimes I think she has pure evil running through her! please tell me that I am not alone!

Anyway I could waffle for ages- any advice or similar stories on the eating hell would be greatly appreciated xxxx love to all
