Am good and so is DD - also teething but seems ok with it. Am still BFing here - 3 feeds a day and am trying to stop to TTC but am too lazy to start with bottles... the dilemma...

KnitterInTheNW · 16/12/2008 22:32

Hi Molly! I haven't had any wine since... I actually can't remember! It makes me feel v tipsy after about half a glass, and then with G waking so often it just wasn't worth the drowsiness. Actually I don't miss drinking at all! I have the occasional pear cider with my tea, and it's lovely.

KnitterInTheNW · 16/12/2008 22:33

I'm still BFing too, 3 feeds during the day then 1/2/3 overnight too. No TTC here, no way, not yet!

ThePFJInASleigh · 16/12/2008 22:39

Another TTC for the wagon then!!!

All aboard!

Mollyfloss · 16/12/2008 22:40

Am quite partial to the odd glass and as DD doesn't wake until about 7 I allow myself a glass after she's gone to bed. Is D really waking a few tines in the night?! You must be exhausted knitter...?

Mollyfloss · 16/12/2008 22:43

G I meant..

TTC is a bit of a joke as long as I am still BFing...I feed her first thing in the morning, at about 2.30pm and at about 7pm last thing before she goes to bed... Was supposed to give her a bottle for the middle of the day milk feed the last couple of days but got too lazy. Told myself I'd be off VFing by Christms.. If I could conceive while BFing then I would keep it up until she's one year. It's just easier and when I go out I have enough stuff without bottles too...

KnitterInTheNW · 16/12/2008 23:23

Yes exhausted, but he's getting better (recently only been needing to get up to him once rather than multiple times a night) and he's always been the same, so it's not like I've been used to getting a good night's sleep! Will Ailish take a bottle? George refuses, tinker. Denny gave me a load of bottles that she got to try with Aeryn, and George will chew them but screams if there's any milk in them! I suppose if I really needed to I'd have to persist, but there's no need really as I have no work lined up at the moment, and hopefully when I do, George will be able to come with me (I'm a nanny).

Mollyfloss · 16/12/2008 23:43

You poor thing. But I suppose you're used to getting up. Eventually when he sleeps the night through, it's then you'll be exhausted. Sounds weird but that's how it was for me until I got used to getting a full nights sleep. A takes a bottle. When she was born she didn't really feed from the boob for about 5 days so I had to express etc. so she was used to bottles from the beginning and I make sure she gets one with EBM every now and then. She prefers the boob though and isn't a huge fan of formula... Has anyone on here got PG while BFing? That would make my life so much easier...

scorpio1 · 17/12/2008 09:16

Molly you can get pg whilst bfing, and anyway, look at it this way - its only 4 months until they're one...not long in the grand scheme of things. Have you had any period return yet? No night feeding was enough for mine....(will look back at what you said again)

scorpio1 · 17/12/2008 09:18

ahh, no night time.

You can mix ebm and ff. do 75/25 ebm/ff, gradually reduce until all ff. Mimi will drink aptamil occasionally now. I BF about 3 times a day at mo, looking to stop at one.

KnitterInTheNW · 17/12/2008 09:19

I'm on my 3rd period and I'm still feeding at least once at night... no fair.

scorpio1 · 17/12/2008 09:21

different for each person, i know some who have periods straight away, some who dont have them till they stop all together....strange isn't it?

scorpio1 · 17/12/2008 09:22

I had one at 6 weeks, spotting each month at correct time iyswim now 3 full periods. Don't know if they are 'true' though.

TinyTimLivesinVictorianSqualor · 17/12/2008 09:35

I've just had my 2nd period and am feeding in the night, kind of. A sleeps from 6pm til 7am with a feed somewhere between 4-6:30am.
There are tons of people on MN that conceived whilst BFing so we may join them

I'm around now and then PFJ, but am no longer a lady of leisure so am busy, busy, busy. Feck knows how I'm going to fit my degree in with working, volunteering and doing the Mum thing. S'pose I may have to stop drinking in the evening and do it then (fat chance, lol).

I don't really get 'busy' with Christmas tbh, I don't allow it to get like that cos I've seen too many people stressed out over it in my life time, my nan was always relaxed and calm and seemingly not bothered yet still managed to cook a dinner for her 8 children plus however many grandchildren were born at the time so I try and emulate her at this time of year

The one thing I am stressing about with xmas this year, or at least putting my foot down with is DP's granddad, he went in the home earlier this year and apparently isn't coming out for Xmas day. I can totally understand where MiL is coming from as she has her own mother and father to look after, her Dad has just had a hip operation after a fall and her mum is in a wheelchair and has been in and out of hospital this year so it would be too much for her to have all three there. It's a bone of contention between myself, DP and FiL though because FiL is retired, he is 62, perfectly able of getting off his arse and doing something but instead of letting his dad move in and getting home help (what MiL wanted to do) he shoved his Dad in the home. MiL says she'll bring him home boxing day but there is no way I'm leaving him in the home xmas day. DP&I are perfectly able to look after him for a few hours and I've told DP that he's coming here for dinner no matter what his parents say but I know DP is finding the thought of telling them that awkward.

FGS, there are plenty of us to help and I know he'd love to be here. 5 generations

TinyTimLivesinVictorianSqualor · 17/12/2008 09:37

Ooops, 4 generations, not 5!

ThePFJInASleigh · 17/12/2008 09:45

Thats a good pic VS. You do sound like your busy at the moment! It's all good though, it sounds like you are trying to do something for yourself as well as your family, so good luck with your studies!

I think your gran is right when it comes to Christmas. I think we could all do with taking a breather and trying to be relaxed about it.

Me and DP definately have another nasty cold. My voice is still almost totally gone and my sinuses really ache. DP is dizzy and has bad cough. I hate colds!
Jack doesnt seem to have it, but I think the antib's he has everyday until he's 2 years old could have something to do with his good health.

Mollyfloss · 17/12/2008 10:14

No period here and no night feeds (with the odd exception). This is probably he first time I've wanted to get my period! I'll start by cutting out the middle of the day feed. I have some EBM too but don't mind giving her FF. I like to get out and about though and don't want the hassle of dragging around bottles. The food is enough already.

VS: I think it is very nice that you are having DP's grandad and it sets a good example to your kids. My grandmother lived with us for 3 years (even though she hardy knew where she was)

SophtheRedNosedReindeer · 17/12/2008 14:47

Lucky you It's probably all those horrible winter germs knocking around at the mo. I'm surrounded by snot-nosed kids every day so can't get away from germs - yuk!! Either that or you really have conceived quickly

Mollyfloss · 17/12/2008 14:48
